We love Sue! She's always happy and knows exactly what we want on our complicated orders. She knows my father in law wants a pot of mayo and is happy to accommodate. The foods always hot and fresh. No complaints here

I've updated this review as in my opinion the New inn (Hungry Horse) has upped it's game over the last couple of years. The food quality (and chef / cooks) have improved. This is somewhere I can go and get great value, good food at a low price and enjoy a beer with it too. Child / family friendly. In fact today I chose the new Inn hungry horse over the harvester as in my opinion, the food is better and at a much better price.

Would defiantly come back service was brilliant food was amazing the steak melted in ur mouth if you have not been you need to 100% recommended

It was a Saturday night, we hadn't booked, the first pub we tried was fully booked, but luckily the New Inn had a few tables left. The food was good, and we were informed of the 45 minute delay when we ordered.

The portions of food were not the largest I have experienced when eating out and was clear to see that the roast potatoes were cooked from frozen. The service was pretty good considering the large group of people I was with but they could have done with extra staff to speed up the service. The atmosphere was not the best as it had a number of screaming kids & crying babies. Going there on a Sunday afternoon probably did not help.

Decent pub grubs. Recent visit went for the Epic meal for £5. Get what you pay for. Good value. Friendly staff.

Waited a long long time for our meals. Three delivered, few minutes later another one, five minutes after the first ones the fifth delivered only after the waitress queried if we was waiting for any more. Burger dried up, lasagne dried up, all day breakfast seen better days, think it had been there since the morning, we was there at 6pm. Only one waitress so she was doing her best.

Get what u pay for. Wine deal on Wednesdays is best thing

Brilliant Service, came to the New Inn as part of a party for 20 people and couldn't have had a better service. Lewis took great care, was very welcoming and allowed us time before to set up the area. Food was great and pleasantly surprised for the good prices. Will definitely come back, thanks Lewis for making it a great night

Just had my Christmas Dinner round at the New Inn. Salmon for starter, traditional roast and all the trimmings followed by Zesty lemon tart with fresh raspberries and raspberry sorbet. The servings were large and couldn’t finish the pudding. The service was excellent, we weren’t rushed even though we had to give ourselves plenty of time between main course and pudding.

Just had our Christmas dinner and I can honestly say I take my hat of to kitchen staff waiters and waitresses and bar staff they have worked there socks of to make our day special so I really hope they will have a equally special evening. Thank You all

Went to the New Inn for a pre Christmas social with friends at the weekend. We ate from the festive menu and OMG the food was amazing!!! So much choice and the portions were huge. Great value for money and served by friendly staff. I highly recommend it if you’re looking to get into the festive mood!!

Didn't realise you had to order at bar. Sat for a while waiting! Main meal was ok, had a "side" of scampi which turned out to be 4 tiny pieces (1cm) for 2quid!! We understood our gift card for £50 but working it out our bill was £22.98 to pay so the card must have been for£25?

Had a family meal on Sunday lunchtime and we enjoyed it a lot. We had to book a table online although there were spaces on the day. We were also able to use Tesco vouchers there which was handy. I thoroughly enjoyed my turkey dinner; lots of different veg and the gravy was lovely. The turkey wasn't fresh-carved meat, but I was happy with what I received. The kids enjoyed their bacon burger and roast beef. Other half liked the veggie lasagne although said the portion was a little small (he ate my spare potatoes and veg so that was ok!). Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, all in all good value for money so I would definitely eat here again :)

However I was at another pub and, since The New Inn is on my favourite list, I accidentally ordered my drinks to there instead of where I was. I very quickly called the restaurant but it kept going to voicemail. On the fourth attempt I finally got through to someone who basically said ‘We’ve poured them already I’ll be at a loss if I refund it so I won’t” She was very short and rude about it. As if no one is going to order a Stella 🤷🏼‍♀️ And beyond that, what about the fact that I’ve paid for a drinks service I’m not going to receive? No no Hungry Horse can’t take the financial hit. Not being funny but £15 is an hour and a half of work for me. Money is time and I can’t get it back, but Hungry Horse make millions a day.

I went here for my neice 4th birthday, it was a lovely meal out as a family, the staff were absolutely incredible, they sung happy birthday to my niece and put a candle in her brownie which she was over the moon about! Food came out very quick and tasted amazing! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to go out for a nice family meal!

What a lovely place. But make sure you book if you want to dine on a Thursday night because quiz night is very popular and crowded.

In the past, I've been here, and the food was terrible. 😩 we heard there had been a few changes, so we thought we would give it a second chance. I'm glad we did. The food was great and the service was friendly and quick. All round a great experience. Well done, the New Inn. We will be visiting again. 😊 a big well done to all the staff.

Great pool table, good condition plenty of space. Typical Greene king food, had a chicken and bacon baguette, nice.

You couldn't ask for a nicer place to enjoy a decent pint, pulled by the great staff there. Very nice traditional English pub and met a nice bunch of customers who soon became friends.

Today was the first time I'd visited the New Inn and what a great place. The staff were really friendly and it's a really big place that's very clean and well kept. I ordered a rump steak and I have to say it was delicious and one of the best steaks I've had in a "low priced" pub. The steak was juicy and good flavour. I'll be coming back with all the family**Edit : I've been back 3 times now , always good service and good value food 👌

Lovely barman working, but unfortunately not enough staff on so service was very slow.

Menu limited as ovens not working but very good food,service perfect steak sizzler.

Went about 1pm for lunch and it was fairly quiet. Food was served quickly and it was piping hot. Had a delicious chocolate cake for dessert which was quite a large slice. Needs two scoops of ice cream thou rather than just one.

Staff were a delight and very helpful food was actually really tasty and presentation of food was well done highly recommended and prices very reasonable

UPDATE... We visited again on Father's day and it would appear that there is now a regular quiz night on Sundays, we have now been subjected 3 times over the last couple of months. If it is your thing then go on a Sunday, but it is not ours. We will not be going back again on Sundays, it is impossible to have a family meal with the volume of the quiz host. A great meal here, really good price and fresh well cooked food, nothing special, but good value for money. We took advantage of the eat out scheme and had a 50% reductions. Well worth a visit.

Very disappointed with our visit, food was awful , chips and onion rings undercooked. Burger overcooked. Team not very friendly. Won’t be going here again, shame as we go here, when we are visiting family in Camberley

Never been before so not sure where to order for or book in, but it was ok, food just the right size

Awsome pub/restaurant, we normally use the Gloster however today unfortunately they had a limited menu so decided to try here. Well we are so glad we did, food is excellent, and staff are extreemely efficient and friendly. We reserved table 3 for 5 pm and table was all ready for us. Unfortunately we never got the name of our waitress. But Sue who cleared away for us was so friendly. FOOD 10 STAR STAFF 10 STAR we will deffo go back

The sizzling steak was actually pretty decent. Not too fussed about the onion rings and chips but the sizzling plate items were great. The pub had a nice atmosphere and will likely return

We go for lunch frequently,the staff are always friendly and helpful .meals are good value and cooked well We also have been to the music evenings that are always good entertainment and free to get in .

Nice place. Family pub. Worth a visit

First and last visit. Traveled up from Cornwall to have Sunday lunch with family, met by miserable staff, no friendly greeting. Sat at sticky table, ripped chairs thought we had walked into Wetherspoons! Meals served too quick to be freshly cooked? Scampi lukewarm, peas cold. My daughters cheese and bacon burger embarrassing, no brioche bun as stated looked like a supermarket bun, processed cheese slice not even melted and thin microwaved “bacon” 🤦‍♀️ I’m a chef myself and would be ashamed to send out food clearly not probed for temps and on cold plates, don’t understand rave reviews about food, which was just poorly cooked pub grub 🤦‍♀️

The three of us stopped for lunch earlier. We ordered nachos, macaroni and cheese, chicken wrap and a bacon cheeseburger with chips along with some drinks. The nachos were the most interesting ones we’ve seen, which may be why they’re referred to as “homemade”. The macaroni and cheese came out in a small dish which was about 3 table spoons full. We queried the size as it was down as an adults meal. More was cooked and this time came out in a small bowl with about 3-4 table spoons full. Was never enough or suitable to be considered a main meal. The bread of the chicken wrap was burnt on one side which took a bit of scraping and dodging in order to enjoy. We’ve been to many Hungry Horse restaurants in the past and primarily frequent The Gloster, which is a much more pleasant, nicer and better experience. You get what you pay for there. Because of the experience we faced today, we will not be returning back to the New Inn.

Awful! Our last visit was 6 months ago. Steak was so overdone, for the 4th time. Popped in over Easter weekend. Chrissy, the manageress, told us to leave as we were idiots. We asked why, as she was upsetting other patrons. She told us to just p!$$ off. Thank you Chrissy, I hope YOUR business, as you told me, continues to thrive in your presence. You never smile and always walk around like you truly do not like your job.

Lovely hungry horse pub. Staff very efficient and food and drinks were good value. Nice atmosphere got quieter around 8 30/9ish but good value and hot . Double gins are good 👍

Great evening spent here with good quality food and quick bar service using the Greene King app. Would thoroughly recommend.

The menu here is definitely meaty and burgers like the Quadzilla are a perfect example of this. At just under 14 quid at time of writing for a double burger with an additional 2 pieces of chicken on top with nacho sauce and chips on the side is to say a decent offer that I've been tempted by on more than one occasion. The staff are generally prompt with accurate updates of any potential delays, however they can seem a tad preoccupied with their work at times. This has however never swayed me from going and I will most certainly return in the future.

Went in with my two girls and got a sharing platter for my two children that are meant for adults and come out looking like it been kicked around the kitchen ordered another starter garlic mushrooms normally it comes out with a bit of garnish some sauces the garlic mushrooms come out without a care in the world you wouldn't even give the starter to your dog then the second bit of food come out an hour later so basically when we went in to have a meal together with my girls we might as well have are meal at a different table would not recommend the kitchen to a kennels
