Got to be worst fish and chip shop in the area, chips were luke warm and under cooked and what a rip off £7 for battered sausage and chips. Never be visiting again

Chips were terrible and had loads of tiny bits and the pie was dry and hard - don’t waste your money going to this chip shop

Never again . 20 mins wait staff doing phone orders first although shop empty and customers not arrived yet.more black chips than normal chips .

1st time using this place, was definitely not disappointed. Service was spot on, on time. The food was excellent quality & taste. Very good portion size.

Ordered via just eat at 7.15pm said my order will be just after 8pm. 8.30pm no order, then 8.53ish it was just cancelled, no call or explanation. Leaving me and my visitors hungry, so ordered a Chinese at 9pm which came 20 mins later

As it was half term we took our Grandchildren to get a lunch as a treat. Very friendly service and a great selection on the menu. The food was very tasty and cooked to order. The only snag 2 drinks were missing when we got home but an email and it was very quickly sorted

I've been buying fish & chips from Deep Blue, Yateley for several years but the service and quality seems to be pot luck. It feels a bit as if the left hand doesn't quite know what the right hand is doing, moreover sometimes a potion of chips is massive other times it's borderline enough. The food is fine but there's just something missing and... today it was cod! How can a fish and chip shop run out of large cod portions, especially on a Friday when any fish unsold will be used tomorrow. I was offered a large haddock which was not only more expensive but in reality quite small. Maybe time to try somewhere else.

Regularly order a take a way / delivery and the food is of good quality, what lets the place down is they miss items of the menu and then expect you to go down and collect the items that have been missed from the delivery. When you’ve made a mistake, rectify the issue don’t expect the customer to have to come to the store. We certainly won’t be preferring here anymore.

I used to go here for Gluten Free fish and chips. They went from doing it 2 days a as week, to 1 day a week; now they’ve stopped completely. The food is otherwise pretty average and there are better alternatives in the area. I won’t be going anymore.

The food tasted okay but that was as fair as the compliments go, unfortunately. Poor customer services, on arrival was ignored for over 10 minutes in a empty shop, no apology or “be with you in a sec”. A chip shop is part of British’s culture and community, if you can’t even be bothered to say a warm greeting what’s the point of being a Customer facing business? Paid £10 for a very small piece of cod and a handful of chips. If I’m paying that much for a takeaway you would expect to at least get the reasonable amount for it. Clearly too much money has been invested in touch screens and automated payment systems. It’s a shame you have clearly lost total touch with the core value of the heart of the business. Key quality quantity of food & Customer service, these factors are not found here unfortunately.

Visited for a family dinner, very disappointed, the chips were lukewarm and the code bites had lots of large bones in them,hardly any batter on sausages, over all very disappointing. We won’t return in a hurry.

They took 21 minutes to serve us two fish and chips after saying only 7 minute wait, the fish was overcooked and the chips bland and over salty. As for £16 for two fish and chips the price was high and the portions small

Have always been happy with Deep Blue but our last three orders have all had problems. First one we ordered to collect ourselves and had to wait almost an hour outside. Second order for delivery was missing a whole meal and tonight we ordered for delivery and 5(!) portions of chips were missing. The manager was very indignant that she had prepared them, then backtracked to agree we could we collect the chips. This delayed our meal and disappointedly there was no apology when we collected the chips

Use this place regularly and can't understand some of the poor reviews because I have always found it superb value for money! The fish is always of high quality, on the large size, full of flavour, and never 'over battered'. I have ordered online, by telephone, and just turned up at the door, and I have never been disappointed with either the level of service or the quality of the food. Highly recommended!

I go here a lot...a lottttttt. In all my years eating here, I have never been disappointed. The chips are amazing and the battered sausage too. I tried the Haddock only just recently and it was SO good. I'm prompted to give a shout-out to a couple of staff members here who are exemplary. While I have enjoyed all the crew at this shop, the young man and young lady who work the counter are always so happy and pleasant. They make customers feel like they want to take their orders and deliver them with a smile. Always conversational and, unbelievably, they remember us when we go in and even our usual order! Fantastic food and even better customer service.Every time! I'm a forever customer.

I ordered on line and when confirmation came through it stated it would be ready in 15 minutes as suggested on the confirmation I rang the Yateley branch immediately to tell them I could not get there for 45 mins - only to find that it was an automated response and I was unable to talk to anyone. When I collected the order about 40. Minutes later it was hard and cold, and no explanation of why I could not get through on the phone. I appreciate that we are going through difficult times at present but surely a requested 'pick up time' on the web site would be a good idea, as many other take always have done. We felt our money was wasted because the food was inedible.

We were very very hungry on our way home and decided to stop for fish and chips, large cod. What a disappointment when we got home and opened the box everything was dark brown and very overcooked. We could not eat the batter, fish was over cooked and chips very unpleasant. We have had lunch time chips quite often in the past and they have been fine, but this visit the food was very unpleasant and dont think want to try their food again. Felt compelled to write this.

Never any food available always having to wait . worst chips ever, they look like been recooked and chips even worst if shop just opened for service

We have had to buy a take away in a hurry twice now when moving in to a new house in the area. The food has been appalling both times. Over cooked or re cooked. Chips are frightful. How can they get chips wrong?!!! and there is hardly any fish inside the frightful over cooked batter. The first time I gave the benefit of the doubt . Second time proves that these people are getting away with serving recooked and poor food. Do not buy from this shop. It is expensive for terrible food you get. £33 for cod and chips, scampi, a pie and a sausage in batter plus a bit of cod roe. I can't believe that they don't do better. They are miserable staff too.

Insist your cod is cooked fresh-ours was very old and greasy. 4 of us ordered, with 2 cod, 1 plaice and 1 haddock. The latter are not standard items so are cooked fresh. While I waited for them, our two pieces of large cod in the warming place must have just been sat there for hours. When the others were ready, all four meals were wrapped and I took them home. The fresh cooked plaice and haddock were fine, but the two cod were just appalling. Nearly all batter with a small amount of dried up cod flesh, and all very greasy. So bad that the other two people shared their fish with us. Chips poor too. £31 for two decent fish and two inedible fish. So, lesson, insist on fresh cooked fish like the great mobile guy does, or drive to Blackwater.

I often get fish and chips from Deep Blue and generally I have found the fish very good and the chips average. The chips are often quite small and I prefer my chips about 3 inches long and about 1/2 inch square. They are not quite crisp enough either. The best fish and chips I have encountered are at All Things Fish at Avon Beach, Mudeford who do beautifully golden crispy fish and the chips are too! I think all Fish & Shops should pay them a visit to see what excellence looks like!It is not a restaurant but a takeaway!

Just got large chips which were dry and cold and two pies which were very dry inside and like rubber on the bottom. Waste of money.

Best chippy around in my opinion - perhaps should have knocked of 1/2 a star as you often have to queue it's so popular. Good honest fare cooked well and served with a smile - and deals if you're a pensioner or armed forces. You can order online a collect too which might save you queuing.

I’m from Texas and getting British fish and Chips was very high on my bucket list. I’ve had them a few places around London but this place in Yateley is the best. The fish was awesome, the chips were incredible- the right amount of salt/seasoning. I’ve been there many times this year during my visits to the UK but on this trip, one of the staff suggested I try a sausage in batter. What the hell?? Never heard of that. So I did. IT WAS AMAZING!! So, that’s my new favorite thing.... Battered Sausage and Chips. Not the same ring to it, but holy cow it’s great. I found the staff to be wonderful. They remember me each time I go in. Can’t wait to go back next time I’m in the UK.

EXCELLENT fish; cod, haddock, hake all brilliantly AND freshly cooked. May have to wait a short while )5-10 mins) as the fish is always cooked to order BUT you can ring up in advance and have it ready for collection or even delivered ....So don't be caught between a Rock and a hard-plaice, no codswallop here, only the very finest of fish ......

We arrived quite late so the choice was limited, but my fish and chips was amazing! The batter was light and crispy, the chips perfectly seasoned and the mushy peas tasty! And it was all piping hot! It was delicious and I will definitely be going back :)

Lovely food. Wrapped in crisp paper, steaming and smelling of vinegar. The batter is crisp, the fish moist and flakey. Perfect

Done well good ole fashioned fish and chips is a great occasional meal: I've avoided this place because of a history of very very poor quality: recently, for my own lunch (would not risk buying for anyone else) it's been fine: Ill try it again soon.

Went in there last week at lunchtime and was covered in paint as been working. Was treated like I had an illness. The server looked at me in disgust, carefully took the £5 note from me and then dropped the change into my hand. Are workers not supposed to get lunch?

Food is great but have to wait way to long. I've always had the same problem and been coming here for over a year

We came here for a quick Friday night tea. Nice chips & lovely fish. Would highly recommend, friendly staff.

The food here is as good as you can get at a traditional fish and chip shop and on Sundays and Mondays those who need gluten free can enjoy the food too.

Looking forward too trying this so called chip shop.I asked for a portion off chips at £1.90.which is going rate. But.too be served enemic chips. And one scoop. Which most was scrappings.AVOID. Like the PLAGUE. They clearley haven't a clue on portion control.

Awesome menu and fantastic, honest fish n chips! Clean, traditional, friendly and punching above its weight as a fish n chip shop, deep blue is the only place I'll get my chips as all others, by comparison, don't quite cut the mustard. Many thanks

Don't know what's happened since the last time I was there, but, chaos reigns. Went in 6.15 Saturday evening. One couple leaving as we got there and one person waiting. We ordered one standard cod, one large chips and one chicken breast.

Stopped off on my way home with my two young daughters as I wanted a chip butty for lunch, ordered a large chips and a regular cod, had to wait for the cod. Got home and opened the box and actually laughed out loud at the size of my "large" portion of chips! I'd hate to see what a small portion looked like! Made my chip butty, took one bite and the chips were so dry and stale felt like I was munching a crisp sandwich. £7.35 for a pathetic portion of chips and a regular cod which again was on the small side, small must be tiny is extortionate, had one of my daughters not fallen asleep I would have gone straight back to complain but they hassle of loading them back into the car and the feeling I got from the staff when I ordered it, I got the impression it would have been a worthless effort anyway. Also on a side note, the floor was filthy, my baby didn't have her shoes on but normally in shops I can put her down to stand but the floor was so was muddy and dirty I couldn't. Won't be back.

We have used this Chippie for many years and it is consistently good. Cod & Haddock very good, Rock is good and Plaice only average.

Not. Waited ages to get our food, which needed reheating when we got home. Nice batter, but the chips were not so good..

So what can you say about a fish and chip shop...you expect chunky tasty chips and good flakey fish. We got both!

Asked for fish and chips and owner or manager said I don't have any fish left but you can have the chips as I'm going to close soon.

When it was Jacks, it was so nice with queues out the door, now it's always dead. Last time I eat there, the food was tasteless and not at all nice. Seen complaints on facebook too in the local area. Certain days they do gluten free.

I have had cod and chips from here before and they were good. Cooked fresh.
