Bunch of noisy locals beer drinking loads in the bar area. 🍸 shouting and swearing lots. Looked like a regular "after work". You come in for a light snack and a drink but end up with a bunch of loudmouth yobs disturbing everyone's peace and quiet with foul language.

Great midday lunch served with a real pub atmosphere and good food and dog friendly. 15th February 2025..

We had our mothers 90th birthday Sunday lunch for 26 people at The Cricketers Yateley, Jason and staff were amazing nothing was too much trouble, the Sunday roast was beautiful a well stacked plate was served by lovely waitresses in good time and no one was disappointed, the cost was really reasonable, the place was warm and welcoming, they were happy for us to go in and decorate lots of balloons and table decorations, plus I was able to take my cockapoo dog in with me, definitely recommend a visit, we definitely will return. Thank you Jason and your team... 😊

26 of us celebrated a birthday here today. The roast dinner was delicious generous portions and hot. The manager and staff are very friendly and welcoming, We will definitely be back. Thank you all at the Cricketers.

Had a lovely meal on Valentines Night.Was greeted and served by Demi and Magda. Service and food was excellent.

This was our first visit to this pub as we had seen all the good reviews and were looking for a change. The service was very quick, the food was tasty and the waitresses were delightful. But.. Oh dear.. the ladies toilet was something else. Dirty walls, chipped and stained toilet seats, dusty windowsills. Why on earth has the landlord of a such a nice pub not paid attention to the basic facilities? Not sure I shall return 😟

We had an 18th birthday party for our daughter on Saturday & had the best time. Great space & great food, would recommend!

We had a party of 11, celebrating 3 birthdays. At booking, they asked us to pre-order, because of the size of our party. This made the dinner service seamless. Last minute we added an extra person, and they were so accommodating about it. The price of the entire meal and all the drinks was so cheap, I was shocked! We paid roughly £15 a head, which I was pleasantly surprised at. Definitely a lovely evening, and the food was fantastic! Everyone was happy with their order. Highly recommended.

We had a family celebration on Sunday for 18. Three courses and the all food was delicious. We did pre order because of the numbers and I was really impressed with how they managed the service. Everything was spot on. We were served by Steph, Marion and Amy and they very attentive. We wanted to decorate the tables for the celebration and they were so accommodating. Everyone enjoyed their meals and we had a great time. Couldn’t have asked for more.

Visited The Cricketers yesterday , the food was absolutely amazing the staff couldn’t do enough for us , Steph was our server , Amy served us drinks and Marian head of house . Would recommend to anyone and will be going back . If you’re looking for good food , friendly staff and brilliant atmosphere this is the place to be . 5 star all round .

Since we've moved, The Cricketers is now our "local" we have been a few times for drinks & food. Last week we came for steak Thursday & were very pleased. The restaurant wasn't very busy, possibly as 2nd week of January, but the service & welcome we received from Marion was excellent. We ordered food & drinks & didn't have to wait to long for it to arrive. The mixed grill was very tasty & plentiful, my steak was flavourful but did have quite a large fatty/gristly bit on one end. I know this sometimes happens with steak but as the steak was an 8oz it was a shame not to be able to eat more. The steak we've had before was brilliant so hoping this just a one off. It kept the dog happy though 😄 2 dinners & 4 rounds of drinks came to £65 which is reasonable especially as the Abbot was so tasty. All in all a very pleasant evening with friendly attentive service and it's great that our dog is welcome in the bar & restaurant. The Cricketers seems like a lovely friendly community pub & we look forward to more evenings here.

Great service by young staff so polite, the meat was cooked to prevent and presentation was nice absolutely enjoyed my meal it is my second visit here and due to the food I definitely will be coming back

The Cricketers has been my local pub for many, many years, and I regularly spend my Friday weekly ‘me’ time there. The food is very tasty and extremely well prepared and presented. I am always warmly welcomed, most recently by Lydia and Marion, who are very attentive and genuinely want to make all their guests feel at home. I highly recommend this pub! John.

Went out for a meal with family and friends and were served by Lille. Despite a staff shortage, she accommodated our late lunch and was incredibly sensible, friendly, and helpful. The children's meals were served first, which was much appreciated. She also gave excellent recommendations. The food was delicious, and overall, it was a fantastic experience—10/10, highly recommend!

The food was bad, but not very bad as the staff was with me being a foreigner... Maybe their attitude changes under different circumstances

The welcome was warm and friendly. There were two staff members who served us, the lady who greeted us was lovely, the one who served us was very passive/aggressive. She made us feel rushed and like it was a military operation. The pub was clean, toilets clean, food well priced for what it was. All very nice. It was a little bit of a shock when my friend asked for an extra scoop of ice cream smd was charged £1!

Had the Christmas Menu. Lots of well cooked lovely food and drinks. The staff were awesome and the food was amazing. XXXX

Always a pleasure to visit here. Great staff, made to feel welcome, seen to table and drinks order taken swiftly. Food choices are good and food is always outstanding. We are a group of 5 and all eat different meals and they are all delicious. Very Good Value. 5*

We had a Sunday roast today for 9 to celebrate a family birthday, cooked & served beautifully with generous portion sizes, by attentive & knowledgeable staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. Absolutely first class from start to finish - we’ll be back 👍

A nice and clean pub, modern and fresh. The vegan meatballs starter (and I'm not even vegan) were absolutely delicious. I had a Katsu curry for main which wasn't really my favourite, it was lacking, served with rice and chips and the sauce was a bit strange-tasting so wouldn't order that again, would rather go for a lamb shank, steak or burger next time round. Having said that, the prices are very reasonable compared to many places I've been and the service was great. Based on that, I can't fault it. The restroom was clean but freezing which was not a big deal as I was in and out. I wouldn't mind visiting again, all in all.

We went here today to celebrate my Dad's birthday and the food was lovely and service was great and great value for money. Really happy with our visit and we look forward to heading back.

Nice place to chill or have fun

We were there for a wake having recently lost a colleague to cancer. Good atmosphere and the staff were very attentive. Food was buffet style which suited the occasion.

Great food; hot, plentiful and delicious. Superb service from Louise and Nicole. Update: 10th November 2024. Another return visit and, again, great food and service. A huge thanks to Amy and Lilia for the 1st rate service today.

Food wasn't too bad, given the comparatively low price. The portions were generous and all the plates arrived at the same time, presented nicely. The only real criticism I had was that the steak looked like it had been beaten a bit too hard with the tenderiser and had an odd texture. Service, whilst friendly, was incredibly slow. We were a table of three adults having one course and not drinking; this visit still took north of 90 minutes. The venue was clearly understaffed. I understand that the hospitality industry is suffering - like many - but if you can't afford to adequately staff your business then the customer experience suffers. The venue itself was neat and clean, and I suspect on a good day it'd be a lovely place to have a meal. The frustration felt by the staff at having to rush and offer a compromised service was palpable, and negatively affected the experience. The staff did their best though, I don't blame them in the slightest. Given the competition in the area, I can't recommend The Cricketers.

Sadly poor quality food. Microwaved, partly cold, portions missing. Really disappointed as was looking forward to trying.

During a week of work at Yateley Cricketers was our trusted pub, we spent several incredible nights, the service of the waitress <Lilian> was very good (in fact we have yet to send her a "the beers" t-shirt). We hope to return

What a happy place to visit! The staff, led by James, seem to really enjoy being there and it showed in their excellent service. And it felt like James had time to check in with customers too! Totally recommend!

Jason and his team run a fantastic pub, my parents go for lunch once a week with their beloved dog and it was the ideal venue for family gathering and celebration over the weekend. There’s a nice menu and the food has always been great with a good selection of pub Classics as well as a few specials along the way. All in all really nice place to sit out the front in the sunshine and enjoy a beer or have a bite to eat Inside whilst enjoying a few cold drinks. Keep up the good work and I can wholeheartedly recommend it, so why not pop in?

Spent a great evening here celebrating a 60th wedding anniversary. The staff were great, couldn't do enough for us. The food was good and reasonably priced. Would recommend this establishment to anyone that wants to drink in a well run, friendly traditional pub.Thanks for a great time .

Just had a great evening, we booked a table for drinks only. We were greeted by the manager who then introduce the staff who will be serving us. We were asked straight away if we'd prefer to go to the bar to order, or have table service. We opted for table service and it worked perfectly. Poppy, Libby and Lilia checked on us regularly and were prompt with drink orders. The girls were equally attentive with all customers. You made our evening, thank you all. It was an Elvis evening, Gary Roman is brill and makes the evening fun for all ages. Perfect evening, which reminds us we must go out more often...

Popped in this lunchtime on the off-chance with my mum, daughter and granddaughter. I have to say, the food was so good. The chef (Kirk) cooked my meal exactly as I had requested it and there were clean plates all round. Prompt, attentive service and a friendly atmosphere. We will return again and again. Thanks for a lovely lunch!

Fabulous evening in the Crickers. Lilia and her team were so friendly. The 2 meals deal was very good value and gammon steak was amazing. Will definitely come again.

Enjoyed a very good Sunday lunch last week with family. The childrens' meals were nicely presented & enjoyed by a 5yr old & a 12yr old. Staff were very attentive & helpful & willing to compromise.

We took my 94 year mum for a Sunday roast to the Cricketers. The staff were brilliant, accommodating, the food was excellent as well as the atmosphere. We decided to move after lunch to the outdoors seating area and enjoy the sunshine. We had a thoroughly good experience and would recommend this pub, so a big thank you to the staff and the owners.

Great location for a family Sunday lunch. Weather great, we sat outside, children played in the woods. Well kept beer and excellent food, particularly the pies! Recommended

Popped in yesterday for a quick bite with the kids. Really just appealed to me because of the outside space and freedom to let the kids running around in the woodland while we sat down. I was so impressed with the food. We had roast dinner, and it was just one of the nicest pub roasts I have ever had. I chose the veggie option and it was amazing, and my partner had the roast beef and was also very impressed. Will definitely be returning

Ate here several times recently whilst exploring the local area, sometimes for food and sometimes just for a few drinks. It pains me not to give this pub a better score, as the food is absolutely great, and it is reasonably priced for the area, with a lovely location. The service on the whole has been good, but unfortunately on 3/6 visits there has been a blonde haired lady called Demi working the bar who has almost made it her mission to upset patrons. Turning away lots of small groups for food, even when the pub wasn't that busy, and giving sarcastic and rude replies to honest questions from paying customers. It seems a shame to rate an otherwise outstanding local pub as only 'average' but unfortunately this individual's lack of decent customer service skills means it is unlikely I will return to this pub any more for the next month that I am staying in the area.

Lovely country pub with friendly staff and excellent food.

Landlord very unwelcoming and surly. Whatever you do, don't ask for a parasol, table in the shade, or try and order food without knowing in advance how the system works, you'll get very short shrift! If you try and meet friends informally, expect to be berated for not giving the landlord warning. Our closest pub but will think twice before we go back.

We went to the Cricketers for a Sunday roast, as it was recommended to us by our friends family. I’d have to say, my lamb shank was delicious, and fell off the bone. My wife, and friends, all thoroughly enjoyed their roasts too. I also had the sticky date pudding for dessert, and could not fault it. But, for me, the cappuccino was fantastic, simply the best one I’ve ever had in England. It was strong & tasty, unlike the weak, milky ones that are so often served. Plus, all the staff today were really good, very customer focused, and made the experience memorable. Do yourself a favour, and give it a go.

This has to be my favourite pub in the whole of yateley due to the lovely bubbly staff (Lilia) I would be here for any football game in the future.

I had my surprise 50th birthday party at the Cricketers a few weeks ago, it was the best night. We often drink there anyway as Jason and all the staff are so welcoming! The drinks are great and reasonably priced. The garden is lovely and the atmosphere is always great. Highly recommended for a party, meal or just a few drinks… love how dog friendly it is too..

The waitress who served us tonight was so lovely. Friendly and kind. I wish I asked her name. She was wearing nice earrings. The point is that she showed good customer service. I've often driven past this place on a Fri afternoon. Heading onto the M3 and I think of how it always looks so festive. Probably the sunshine etc. Anyway, caught up with a friend tonight. Nice evening.

Great Sunday! Just had a family gathering and the pub certainly delivered! Great food selection, from traditional roasts to tasty specials,including vegetarian options. Nothing was too much trouble thanks to the friendly and professional staff team! Special thanks to Kirk (chef) who works tirelessly behind the scenes! Staff are brilliant, top humans. Food is great too.

We visited a few weeks ago & the meal was delicious, however this time round the same meal was a disaster, i had salmon fish cakes with hollandaise sauce & poached eg, I’m horrified that the meal was actually sent out from the kitchen in this state, you couldn’t tell where the poached egg was as it had blended in with the sauce to make a mash on the plate

Staff were friendly and helpful food was lovely the place was a big size and clean with a huge outdoor drinking area

Good burger lunch with friends. Very attentive staff and good service. Exceptionally helpful manager (Jason) who tried everything to assist us with using our Groupon meal voucher.

Went with my girlfriend had a mixed grill and Mac cheese! Food was delicious. It was a cold evening but they had the heating on was a really relaxed and calm evening. Will definitely be returning again

We booked a family meal for 13 on the 21st April the service was excellent food was served very quick and efficient would highly recommend it

Food was great but I’ve never been left waiting so long for a bill to come which did sour the experience a bit as we were ignored for twenty minutes. Everything perfect up until then.

For a weekday afternoon in the sun, the pub had good atmosphere and bar staff were helpful and friendly. Nice garden.

Me and my friends came here for a light catch up and a spot for dinner, and Megan was very attentive and was dealing with multiple tables also and was on the ball and had a smile on her face the whole time. The food was lovely I had the chicken schnitzel and it was amazing. One little side note i did notice the rocket on all of our meals was a little soggy but other then that fab!!!

Stopped in from drive back from coast for a beer and bite to eat, apart from getting launched from the drivers seat due to the surface conditions in the drive way to the pub :-). We had a warm friendly welcome straight away, prompt service, good food and a nice beer. Nice outdoor space and plenty of room. would stop in again for sure but will drive very very slowly on approach

Just popped in for dinner! Garlic mushroom chicken snitzel and marmalade pork loin, both off the 'special' menu! Unbelievable dishes and drinks coupled with great friendly service as always,and great value for money! This pub is a hidden gem for those seeking good food with great staff! An overall excellent meal in pleasant surroundings served by the lovely attentive waitress Nicole. If I had a minor complaint it was the broccoli being rather soggy and stringy but we were very satisfied overall with the four meals plus dessert. Highly recommended. We shall be back

I recently discovered "The Cricketers" at Yateley for brief "R&R" stops on my way home. Always a good humoured and warm welcome from the young team 'Front of House', a pleasant glass of beer and a 'light bite' if required. Well worth the short detour from the Main Road.
