We visited a few weeks ago & the meal was delicious, however this time round the same meal was a disaster, i had salmon fish cakes with hollandaise sauce & poached eg, I’m horrified that the meal was actually sent out from the kitchen in this state, you couldn’t tell where the poached egg was as it had blended in with the sauce to make a mash on the plate

Good burger lunch with friends. Very attentive staff and good service. Exceptionally helpful manager (Jason) who tried everything to assist us with using our Groupon meal voucher.

Me and my friends came here for a light catch up and a spot for dinner, and Megan was very attentive and was dealing with multiple tables also and was on the ball and had a smile on her face the whole time. The food was lovely I had the chicken schnitzel and it was amazing. One little side note i did notice the rocket on all of our meals was a little soggy but other then that fab!!!

Just popped in for dinner! Garlic mushroom chicken snitzel and marmalade pork loin, both off the 'special' menu! Unbelievable dishes and drinks coupled with great friendly service as always,and great value for money! This pub is a hidden gem for those seeking good food with great staff! Excellent lunch deal £8.99 for a sandwich, chips and drink with a choice of bread. Chips were cooked to perfection Nice and hot Great service

An overall excellent meal in pleasant surroundings served by the lovely attentive waitress Nicole. If I had a minor complaint it was the broccoli being rather soggy and stringy but we were very satisfied overall with the four meals plus dessert. Highly recommended. We shall be back

I recently discovered "The Cricketers" at Yateley for brief "R&R" stops on my way home. Always a good humoured and warm welcome from the young team 'Front of House', a pleasant glass of beer and a 'light bite' if required. Well worth the short detour from the Main Road.

On entry was welcoming and friendlY, being a Essex lad in complete diffrent county can be daunting, however not here, team effort, however young girl Amy was extremely vigilant, and seemed to scout restaurant floor continuously, in a new member of staff this is rear,,, would go here again, tristram

Young girl Amy, positively had her eyes on the ball, could see her scoping to see who was making eye contact so could attend, impressed

We went for a mother's day lunch. The staff were attentive but not overbearing, the atmosphere was friendly and busy, but you could hear yourself chat, and the access was good, with no steps or stairs. The food was plentiful, tasty and reasonably priced. Mum (87) had a chicken schnitzel which 'cut like butter', and I had the vegan risotto. Mum then had a mini Eaton Mess pudding and coffee, and I had a vegan cheesecake. It was all delicious. Mum gave it a 10/10, and who am I to argue? We'll happily go back

Came out for Sunday lunch on Mothers Day. Although we have lived in the area for donkey years, we have never visited. The Ely is our usual choice but as they were fully booked, we had to think outside of the box. All four of us really rated the food - the best roast we’ve had in a while! Open plan so it can get a tad noisy but decor is nice. Service was lovely, and the chap (didn’t catch his name) who had been there only 3 days was friendly and attentive. The only thing we would criticise was the potholes outside - though it did make us laugh with the bumpy ride in. We will return! Thank you

Reasonably priced food nothing special but affordable and pleasant

Just had a mother's day meal with great grandma, grandma, mummy and kids. Food was a good price and plentiful, and the staff were efficient, helpful and friendly.

18 of us had lunch there yesterday,unfortunately a couple of items were missing from the menu, but the food we ordered came hot & quickly, the staff were very friendly and attentive, would thoroughly recommend, great service thanks.

As always had a good meal at The Cricketers. but the pub could do with a good clean, ladies toilets are in need of care and attention and decoration!!!!!

Great pub , fantastic staff poppy a little gem, owners lovely Jason and Sam and Wilson there dog. Very welcoming and really dog friendly , and food is great wouldn't go anywhere else . Give it a try you won't be disappointed x. Arthur likes it my dog .

Amazing food cooked by Kirk at The Cricketers this evening. We had a large group, and all needs were catered for with no issues. Young children's food was brought out with adult starters, so they had plenty of time to eat. Definitely will be returning.

Visiting family and friends within the area. Good food for the price and the pub itself was clean and tidy. Service was slow to start but the food came out pretty quick. The atmosphere was good and everyone there seemed happy. Would visit again if in the area.

We took a group of 23 on Monday22nd January. No pre-ordering. 3 tables of 9, 8 and 6 ordered seperately . The food appeared very quickly and everyone was appreciative. The service was excellent and done with a smile. Well done to a pub with a small kitchen. Better than many places we go to who demand pre-ordering.

Had a great meal at the cricketers yesterday, the staff were extremely welcoming from when we stepped in the door until we left. Food was hot and delicious, we ordered a variety of meal from Sunday Roast, Steak, Burgers and Macaroni cheese. The Apple & Blackberry crumble pie was to die for! We received a nice pleasant service by Lauren, food arrived pretty quick and was nice and hot, Cricketers serve good classic pub food, The pub was established in 1920's and has a good atmosphere.

Twelve of us rocked up for lunch on Christmas Eve. We had pre-ordered our food and everything was brought out together and piping hot. The value for money was incredible and we shall definitely be back. Thanks to all the staff.

Have been to the cricketers a few time to eat, always good tasty food , and service, last night we went just for a drink and delighted that they had live music on. A 4 piece band called Bullseye excellent! Played a good selection of songs from the 60s 70s and 80s, even did a Christmas song, love hearing live music played well by talented musicians. Hope they will be back next year.

Last year, we were a large group (nearly 40 people) and had reserved the whole area up the ramp. We had also pre-ordered our food. The staff were on fire and brought meals out quickly focusing on plate contents rather than tables. They did an excellent job and the meal was delicious. They took time to check no-one had been missed out. Similar sized group this year and the staff were very helpful with 2 main course swaps that had been ordered incorrectly.

Popped in for a quick lunch and we ended up with a fish frenzy. Squid to start - excellent squid not your preformed stuff but no real flavour of salt and pepper. We both had fish n chips for mains and it's a good size but of fish and well cooked.

I just wanted to say a massive Thank you to Jason and his staff for hosting my daughters 21st party. Great selection of hot buffet food and plenty of space reserved for our 80 guests, dj and photo booth. We all had a great night. All the staff were really helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.

Had a lovely Xmas meal with 30 friends yesterday. Nothing was too much trouble. Food great and staff exceptional considering how busy it was. Have to thank Jason and the whole team for a memorable afternoon! Will definitely return!

One thing I must say; if anyone wants to visit this pub, I would highly recommend you eat beforehand, because if you turn up and about to order food you will get turned away by the landlord. The landlord would say something like "No food for today I'm afraid we have 40 people coming. We can't serve you today, sorry" but we were there for an hour and nobody turned up and the whole place was nearly empty! If you think you can't cope with the number of customers then get more staff, that's how you should run the business(silly man).

There were 10 of us having our pre Christmas get together. Jason and the team did not let us down. i had the prawn cocktail starter followed by the brie and turkey burger which was delicious and good portion size. Others had the Turkey traditional dinner which looked wonderful and by the empty plated very much enjoyed. We all had a lovely night and fully recommend The Cricketers

The food was average, I had Mac and cheese. Overcooked and dry with a large salad that was all leaves and red onion. The pub is very run down . The ladies toilets are a disgrace! Looks like the door has been kicked in. Will not return sadly

Today my husband and I and a further 13 guests in our 15 strong party dined at the Cricketers, and the food and service was truly outstanding. Emma and Jason in particular were amazing.... polite,friendly and helpful. It could not have been a better experience. The venue itself is lovely as well, and all very reasonably priced. Had a fantastic meal here today. The service was great, really friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The vegan risotto and chicken and ham pie were delicious, clean plates all round. The manager let us in early on a very wet and miserable day. We hadn’t booked but he managed to squeeze us in. The kids were so happy and well looked after. They ate everything and were happy with the colouring and puzzles they were given. A great lunch thank you 🙏

This is our local and it is a great pub with friendly staff - Nerys gets a special mention :-) - good food, good service and a fab setting. Sat outside last night (9/6/23) and ate dinner in the evening sunshine. There was such a lovely family vibe and then live music planned for later I believe. Something for everyone.!
