Visited for a mothers day meal, food was excellent. It was a shame it wasn't busier to give the place more of a buzz but we had a really lovely evening.
We ate at Interlude for lunch. The menu is a total delight for the taste buds. It is difficult to single out individual courses as everything was delicious but if I had to it would be the poached oyster in a delicious buttery sauce and the rabbit course, which was like 4 scrumptious rabbit and carrot canapes. The menu has an occasional South African theme, reflecting the chef’s heritage as well as foraging which is woven into most of the dishes. We will be back for the slightly longer evening menu.
Having read some very positive reviews about Tom's Food, I suggested to a friend that we should try it. My first impression on walking in was how small it was and uncomfortable metal seats. The menu has some different things on it which was nice but I felt it was a bit expensive (sort of expected in Cuckfield). Our coffees came quite quickly but our food took forever to come. The food was nice but not particularly big portions. On paying the bill at the counter, I queried the amount and they had added a service charge without my knowledge or approval- I was not happy. They did offer to refund it but I should not have been out in that position in the first place. Whilst I expect a service charge to be proposed in a restaurant, I have never had a service charge added in a cafe before. Given the fact the service level was minimal, my friend asked for the charge to be removed. We won't be returning.

I visited Whatagwan Caribbean Bar & Grill yesterday afternoon with a family member, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. While the staff member was polite, the welcome felt cold—just the bare minimum in terms of service.
We ordered 1/2 a jerk chicken each with rice and peas and steamed vegetables, which came to about £38. The food itself was nice, but what really frustrated us was the lack of attentiveness. Despite being the only customers in the bar, no one checked on us, asked if everything was okay, or even offered us drinks.
We sat by the window at the front, but the staff member did not engage with us at all and stayed towards the back for most of our visit, which only added to the lack of attentiveness. The atmosphere felt flat and lacked energy. I wasn’t expecting anything specific, but some kind of ambiance would have been nice. Instead, TalkSport was playing, which didn’t really suit the atmosphere at all.
Overall, while the food was decent, the lack of warmth and engagement made the experience frustrating and unpleasant. A little effort from the staff could have made all the difference.

This is one of the best run restaurants in West Sussex with terrific food and atmosphere. They have got the lighting just right, something many restaurants get wrong. Good service despite it being a very busy evening. Excellent front of house, attentive and genuinely interested in giving customers a good evening. Highly recommended.
My current favourite restaurant! Excellent food! Even better when collected rather than have delivered! I had the Panang Curry with Coconut Rice which is super tasty. I’d go for the fried squid if you want a side! Popadoms are 🔥 much better than those white puffy things covered in grease you get elsewhere!
We ordered a takeaway from here on Saturday night. Margaretta and a seafood one. Both were cooked to perfection and we had garlic bread as well, which perhaps was a little dry. The staff were friendly and the restsurant clean. Added bonus it has a gin bar opposite and thats where we waited for them. We would go back.
