An excellent Bangladeshi restaurant. Food was very tasty and we were very well looked after by Jalal. Best of all for me, I was able to eat gluten free thanks to the gluten labelled menu and the knowledge of the staff. We will be going back!
28-Apr-23 D'Angelo Orpington. Visited on a Friday evening for dinner. Received a warm welcome even though it was my first visit. Nice Aperol Spritz and San Pellegrino to start. Burrata was excellent with saffron strands topping. Seafood risotto was OK but lacking depth of flavour. I was surprised it wasn't busier, but appreciate there's a lot of local competition. I'd happily return, and try a different main course that might be more to my taste.
We had booked for a family celebration and had high expectations because of previous reviews. The atmosphere felt choatic and it was soon made obvious they were short staffed in the kitchen and on the restaurant floor. There were very long waits to order and even longer waits to receive everything. The food was at best mediocre! The steak was so over cooked it was grey, the pizza was so thin and soggy with grease, the pasta sauces were watery or had been burnt! And why if they were so short staffed and fully booked were they still accepting takeway orders! They had the audacity to charge a 10% service charge. We paid as we don’t like to make a fuss, but we won’t ever return! Very very disappointing.

Hi, Ken from Doorsteps here:
Having hurt my back again, I am recently finding it very difficult. Consequently I will be having a couple weeks rest!
Hope to see you all again in the New Year, Happy Christmas.
The problem with this place is the manager. My friend has Parkinsons disease which makes speech very difficult. She was told by the manager to get out because she was drunk. She only drinks Coke. She was in tears and I gave the manager a piece of my mind. The manager insulted my other friend saying he is too fat, and banned him saying he didn't want him here. He patronises customers,
saying that you have to sit here, insulting them by pointing at tables. His pizzas are small thin and inconsequential at an enourmous price, over £20. The manager is stark raving mad, charging up and down the tiny seating area talking to himself and making hand signs. This guy is a bully to his young staff who are amazing in their manners and attentiveness. Many customers complain, but are ignored because that guy is arrogant. there are many pizza places in the area where you will get friendlier and more respectful service.
I was extremely disappointed with my experience at The Moat House Coffee Shop. They advertise themselves as child-friendly, but my toddler and I were made to feel anything but welcome. Despite the inevitable mess that comes with young children, which I was actively cleaning up, staff approached me and asked us to leave because my child was “too messy.” This was not only embarrassing but also contradicted their supposed family-friendly ethos. If you’re a parent looking for a welcoming space, I’d recommend going elsewhere. A truly child-friendly establishment should show patience and understanding, not intolerance.
Friendly staff, unfortunately the location is quite boring and not very inviting to sit in. The chai latte was OK and value for money is absolutely given. Would order the latte with less sugar for my taste.
There was also no WiFi so it's not a good place to work.
