Just amazing, great people, atmosphere and food. Ordered the Mega Meze, still eating it several days later. Go there, you will not be disappointed

For a birthday lunch on a Sunday, The Plough and Harrow Greek Taverna was a perfectly decent spot. I'm not going to be too critical here because its charm could be quickly tarnished by comparing this Taverna to finer eateries. Despite the fact that the owners are not themselves Greek, there's a home-cooked honesty to this place. Do not expect fine dining, but do expect plenty of well cooked food. In fact, the Mega Meze for four people was enormous. The ribs were tender, the chicken succulent, the rice fluffy and so on. However, with four generous courses, it was a bit of a food challenge and the food definitely won! Thankfully, the owners boxed up about half of it which became the following day's dinner. Result! The wine selection appears to lean into the cheap, cheerful and guzzly ethos. The Plough and Harrow is a little out of the way and street parking is in short supply. That said, inside is pleasantly airy with larger tables than most restaurants (they need to be for all that food). Service definitely comes with a smile. There's also an enclosed courtyard to the rear that has additional seating. I am sure it would be rather pleasant on a balmy summer's evening. Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves and wish the owners much success for the future.

Was very happy with the big servings of authentic calamari, chicken, and sheftalia. Looking forward to exploring the meze options on next visit! Get some Aioli for the meat

Another top takeaway from this lovely restaurant. Food is top quality and tasty, love the variety in the mezze, excellent value for money, good family dinner with loads of leftovers for lunch tomorrow!

Polite and friendly staff Great food,I had 3 skewers 1 lamb,chicken and pork which were all cooked to perfection Very tender. Salad and rice lovely too.My partner had Moussaka and chips with salad and thought it was very tasty. Recommend to everyone

We had a wonderful time! The place has such a nice vibe to it and food was just AMAZING! Everything is hand made and it shows in every aspect. The host was so nice and shared her story with us and answered all our questions (we had a lot!!). Well worth the money as we had so much leftovers that we took home as we couldn't finish the mega mezze for 2. Also, we appreciated the complimentary cheesecake that we received, it was mouth-watering. We would definitely recommend this place to anybody who is looking for good food in a nice setting and we will for sure come back to try everything else from the menu. Thank you again to the host for making our dinner such a great experience!

My husband and I keep coming back to this place! The Greek music is always nice, quite enough to be able to have a conversation while enjoying a nice atmosphere! The services is always very friendly though prompt and professional! Then the food arrives!!! Fresh food and freshly cooked specially for you! Portions are always generous and prices are reasonable! There is an option/ choice for everyone including vegetarians! And at the end….We always leave with two portions of authentic Baklava made by the chefs themselves ! It is a wonderful friendly place where you can have a great honest meal in a lovely atmosphere, never feeling rushed, just like in Greece! We will be coming back!

My wife and I have been a few times here for a meal, the chef and waitress are amazing, you will not go home hungry! So the food is plentiful and of a high standard plus the baklava is to die for, they will put it in a takeaway box for you if you can’t finish. I highly recommend. Multumesc :)

The chef and the manager were very welcoming and the place was clean and with greek vibes. Although Romanian food isn’t in the menu any more, they offered us amazing beans when we asked about it and they were fantastic. There is a good offer of 3 dishes for 19.99 and this will definitely fill you up. The greek stuffed pita is banging and the chips are homemade. The manager did everything to satisfy us including doing some changing to the pita. So much appreciated they all went the extra mile for us. My favourite Greek place. What a pity that the locals can’t appreciate Romanian food.

Organised a meal for a party of 28 Everyone loved it. The food was delicious. The portions huge and the service brilliant. The chef and all staff were very accommodating. The room was laid out so well and a very happy evening was had by all. Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough

Found this restaurant by chance and had a fantastic time. Really great food at a very good price. It was so good that we ordered a takeaway the following week. Will definitely be returning with the rest of my family.

In response to Martin, which is my other half and we were looking forward to dining out in this restaurant . I would like to make a point that the table we asked for to book wasn’t even reserved, and actually none of the tables in the restaurant were reserved. She just said that she needed to sort the tables next day and couldn’t reserved that table for us. I am a qualified chef myself and a qualified customer service manager in hotel and restaurant, and I have never in my experience heard anything more ridiculous. She just refused to book us the table and made us feel uncomfortable since the very beginning. Shame because the food is good, and that’s the only reason why I gave 2 stars otherwise would have been only 1 star, but we definitely are NOT going back to this restaurant.

The first couple of times the waitress/ manager was rather unwelcoming, and unhelpful but we shrugged that off because the food was good. We even called her afterwards to compliment her on the dessert. However, tried to book a table, a specific one at a specific time for early in the evening and both seemed to be a problem. It was suggested the booking needed to be 15 minutes either side of the 6pm time we requested, and that it wasn’t possible to reserve the same table as we had on the two previous occasions. Customer service poor but food good. Overall it’s a shame we won’t be returning.

I cannot thank the staff enough at this restaurant for all their help with my dads 70th surprise birthday meal! The food was absolutely perfect, the portions were HUGE and everything was cooked with so much flavour and love. The staff are just incredible, so kind, caring, quick service and so understanding of all your needs. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough, for a romantic evening meal, family event or just a family meal out, this is one of the best restaurants around! 10/10 recommend!xxxx

Nice old pub converted into greek taverna. The food was decent but still a bit pricey. No complimentary meze or dip like Turkish restaurants do. Still a good greek restaurant comparing to other greek ones I have been.

I wouldn't even give this place a one star but had to otherwise couldn't leave a review. Where do I start. Nothing I wanted was in stock, very limited, and food was under cooked. Rice was like rice pudding, lamb was more fat than meat. Chips were under cooked and not even a dip with the side of bread. Atmosphere was awful only 2 tables there. Manager was non existent when I complained and noticed she ran behind bar when we walked out.. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS

I enjoyed visiting here, although the food was somewhat simple and I think they used microwave rice! The price isn't awful but the dishes I had weren't complex. They do loads of cocktails which were delicious and not too expensive 🍹 The interior is a strange combination of British pub with Greek decor, but not uncomfortable. The staff were absolutely lovely and accommodating, very welcoming.

Me and my husband had the meze here last night and we had a wonderful evening! The staff were helpful and pleasant, the atmosphere was lovely and the food was incredible. Can't wait to go back!!!!

I rate this three stars because I do not like Greek food. However the meat was very nice and my family loved the Greek food. I would advise researching Greek food before visiting. The wait times were not long at all and service was fast and nice. There is outside dining as well as an option to take left over food home. Excellent service and I am sure the Greek menu is lovely to others.

Lovely food and atmosphere, had the mega mezze for £55 for 2 people. Totally worth it, there was so much food and If you don't finish it you can take it home. Will definitely be back! 😁

Food is delicious, tasty, well presented. Service is excellent. Atmosphere great. It has tables inside and outside, where some are undercover and others in the open.

Love love loved it! Staff where amazing, so friendly and helpful catering for us last minute on a busy fathers day! Food was delicious and we will definitely be back for more, portions are huge!

Very tasty food, well worth the money

Due to covid, the restaurant are only serving take away at the moment. We had the mini meze with a starter portion of calamari and baklava for dessert. All of it was delicious, and plenty for the three of us. I would thoroughly recommend!

We ordered a takeaway for my wife's birthday as we aren't able to eat out at the moment. We'd always intended to try Plough and Harrow as a restaurant, so this was an easy choice when we wanted something a little special for a celebration. We were not disappointed! My daughter ordered cheeseburger and chips. I didn't get to try it but it looked amazing - packed full with a decent patty and lots of cheese and salad. It beat my daughter but she gave it a good go. My son ordered ribs and chips. He's a fussy eater so we asked for no coleslaw, but the amount of ribs was incredible. He battled his way through it and managed to finish it off. My wife ordered chicken skewers (you get two in a portion) and chips, which also came with halloumi, tzatsiki and pitta bread. Tender chicken, well seasoned and very tasty. I went for the mixed grill - 1 lamb skewer, 1 chicken skewer, sausage, chops, chicken wings, grilled tomatoes, chips (I think I've forgotten some bits too). It was amazing - I nearly finished it but ultimately beat me. We also ordered loaded fries and garlic mushrooms. Probably more food than we needed, but both equally delicious. Finally, as we'd heard good things, we also ordered some Lotus Biscoff and Black Forest cheesecake slices. After a considerable time after our main course, we enjoyed these - creamy and crunchy in all the right places. I would thoroughly recommend The Plough and Harrow Taverna. I look forward to when we can enjoy dining there in the future when circumstances allow.

Amazing service, and amazing food. I took my dad and my other half here the other day for his birthday, the staff were very very friendly and always wanted to ensure that we had a good time. Food was reasonably priced with huge serving sizes. A great authentic greek restaurant.

Absolutely wonderful place. The staff were incredibly polite and friendly, the atmosphere and decor were beautiful and the food was equisite. I shared a meze with my husband for our anniversary. Be prepared to eat a lot though as the portion sizes aren't small and there are many. Between the two of us we couldn't finish it all but the lovely staff simply brought out boxes for us to take home what we couldn't finish there. Thoroughly recommend this place to anyone who wants to sample extremely delicious food, reasonably priced and exceptional service. Thank you.

The food here is amazing. Visited as a group for a 50th birthday meal. Half of us pre ordered the Mezze which was phenomenal! So much food, all of it delicious and cooked perfectly. The other half ordered from the regular menu which was all really good! I will definitely be back!

What a great little place! We popped in here for lunch today and received a very warm welcome from the owner Lenny. We ordered houmous and tzatziki with warm pitta, and then their loaded pitta breads. The houmous and tzatziki are home made and were very tasty and the loaded pittas were HUGE! Great value for money. We can't wait to pop back for dinner sometime!

Ordered from the new summer take away menu the loaded pittas. Cannot praise them highly enough, hot, very tasty, as for the Greek chips they are scrummy, good value for money will be phoning very soon for more from this menu.

Are here for the first time yesterday and won't be going back. Starters if Kalamri and King Prawns were ok. Kebabs (pork and lamb) were dry and tough and not particularly tasty. I suspect cheap cuts of meat. Chips had an awful after taste, suspect old oil and/or cold chips reheated. Expensive too, for what we had - starter, main, 1 alcoholic drink and a soft drink each - 3 people- just over £95.
