Nice pub and rooms, a few points to make: - Bathrooms small (which I think is unavoidable given the building), just a little too cramped - Staff friendly all way through stay - Lots of things not in stock or available when ordering at bar - Breakfast was very nice but no ketchup or brown sauce on table, when asked for both was given bottles of both with just dregs in - this is unacceptable - When coming back at night, entered bar and was given a room full of local stares lol

Popped into this little pub for a drink - location is a bit off-centre for Faversham, down toward the quayside behind the big brewery - but really only a couple of minutes away from Market Street and the bustle of the town centre. Nice place inside, more spacious than it appears, with a bar in the centre and tables in areas to either side. Didn’t eat on this occasion, but the food menu looked excellent and they have good reviews, so will come back to try. The beer was Peroni; as it was and as it should be. The atmosphere was nice, relatively quiet and relaxed. Chill. Overall decent and well worth a visit.

A largish group of us were booked for the early Sunday lunch sitting. There was no friendly welcome and we had to go to the bar for drinks. The duck starter was apparently good, and other starters were enjoyed, but the mussels were miniscule. I have never seen smaller in my entire experience. The main roast meals were plentiful and very tasty, although the potatoes were very hard. Most enjoyed their desserts, but the pistachio "cake" was neither a cake nor flavoured with pistachio. It was nearer to a small, tasteless rusk. Also. the staff mainly looked miserable. I had hoped for more.

Fantastic meal at the Quay Food was really nice, lovely atmosphere and service excellent. We had starter (both had duck), main course (I had the pork belly and my wife had the cod) and dessert (pistachio cake for me and lemon posset for my wife) and all were beautiful presented and tastes delicious. The most disappointing venue and staff that I have ever experienced. Our drinks took around 40 minutes to be all served and staff had poor knowledge of what was actually available. Although 1 star given this would actually be zero if allowed. Locals treat it like a pub and feel that it is their right to walk through what was effectively said to be a private room. Extremely rude clientele and not what might be expected from a restaurant. Starter was billed as a prawn taco when in fact it was 3 prawns, a little salad, an inedible bread that had the appearance of a naan and a sauce of indeterminate origin. The main of steak and Guinness pie was not bad but not the best. Dessert (pear tart) over baked but nice with the blue cheese. Not sure why anyone would think to serve it with balsamic onions. Finally, the front of the house, who I believe was called Tania, basically told me that I shouldn't be complaining as staff were undergoing training. Quite frankly some urgent training should be focused on her own customer facing skills. All in all a thoroughly unpleasant experience for my wife's 71st birthday. Most previous reviews on TripAdvisor were more than 1 year old. Overall, the most disappointing evening out that I have ever experienced.

Are you one of those people who enjoy eating out, but wouldn't on a Sunday, as you can cook a roast better than most restaurants... well check out The Quay in Faversham. OMG what an amazing roast! I would go and say it was the best I have ever had... including when I get it bang on at home! Everything about this place is amazing. I enjoy cider, and the Kentish Pip High Diver is a very nice pint. and my wife enjoys wine... she is also pleased with the wine list. I seriously believe that this could smash a Michelin stared restaurant, and the prices are more than reasonable. Thank you to all the team at The Quay... everyone is so friendly and clearly love working there.

The cooking is good, so no worries there. The staff are generally nice although quite young so when something went ever so slightly wrong it could have been handled better. I asked a person who claimed to be a co-owner for an email address so that we could inform them of a couple of things without other staff members seeing. Her behaviour was downright peculiar and it became clear over time that she just wasn't interested. She gave me a false email address so my email bounced back and I eventually sent my email to the general email address. I had wanted to let them know about some issues without giving them a bad review on TripAdvisor but my email wasn't even acknowledged so I certainly wasn't ever thanked for taking quite a lot of time and effort to let them know about some problems. So here we are. And I'm not taking yet more time and effort to list the various problems. Suffice to say, we won't be staying here again and would advise you not to. Eat by all means, have a drink, but if you want somewhere comfortable to stay where the owners care about the place, this isn't it.

We recently stayed at The Quay for one evening. Staff were friendly and helpful and we stored bags before and after check in. Shortly after check in, we went to the room to find water leaking from the ceiling above, which started as a drip and increased. We alerted the staff right away who said that the person in the room above must be using the shower, so there was nothing to be done until that had completed. They offered to contact us to give an update if we were going out. On checking the room, the hem around the bed base had a rust-like material on it, and it was stained in several places. There were other odd/sub-standard issues with the room, including shelves in the bathroom which were slanted so if an item was placed on the shelf it would roll off on to the floor. There was only one small bottle of water provided. Generally fixtures and fittings were a bit tired. The bathroom door did not latch closed properly. Later in the evening we were provided with a text update to say the water leak was due to an overflowing bath and it was now resolved. On returning to the room it had indeed stopped. The shower was a good strength and plenty of warm water, the bathroom and towels were clean and there was a provision of tea/coffee making facilities although with only one bottle of water provided the potential to use this was quite limited. Unfortunately it was also quite warm overnight in the room despite it not being a particularly warm day and I would be very concerned about this in warmer months. Breakfast in the morning was excellent, with a particularly helpful and attentive staff member, although there wasn't a choice of what was included in the fried option - e.g. only one egg where it might have been nice to have two. As mentioned, staff at the venue were friendly and helpful and a partial refund of the stay was offered, which was much appreciated. However, based on the room rate and the issues experienced, this was not a luxury stay as we had hoped for.

The shower controls are tricky to fathom out. Might wanna ask for a demo before you strip off and leap in. The secret: the on-off knob is on the left hand side, but it's not easy to turn off with wet hands. But if they told you that it wouldn't be half so much fun, right? Amazing jazz singer here tonight. What a voice! Tapas really special too. Eat yer heart out Spain, it's all happening in Faversham!

We had a lovely meal here last night. Have been a couple of times over the years and this was the best visit yet. Excellent food, very good service and we enjoyed our first taste of Brenley wines - hoping it won't be the last time! The outdoor area looks lovely for a drink on a warm evening. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is that I left two messages trying to book earlier in the week but didn't get a callback - perhaps if callbacks for reservation requests aren't something they wish or are able to do - which is fair enough - it would be worth saying this on the answerphone message. But cannot fault the experience once we arrived.

Everything was great - always good food - but the restaurant area on the right-hand side of the building (looking at the building from the street) I feel needs a bit of cosying up. Perhaps some lights in the fireplace. A few more pictures around. Dimmer lighting and, although I know there needs to be room for staff to walk to the kitchen, the big empty space in the middle could do with another table perhaps. It had the appearance of small dance floor with tables surrounding it.

Booked in for lunch to celebrate partner birthday. On arrival bar was pretty busy. Once seated, we ordered our food and drinks. Didn’t wait too long for food to come but unfortunately it was disappointing. I ordered sea bass which basically came with nothing, some sort of potato crisp which were overdone so plate was pretty empty. And my partner had beef which was good but food was just warm no hot. No staff came to check if everything was ok. When we finished our meal it took almost 30mins for staff to come and ask if we wanted anything else. On the end we just asked for our bill and left. It was disappointing as previously we had nice dinner there.

Parking is not ideal, which is the only slight drawback. We loved it, and recommend it strongly. A proper restaurant, with a real chef, and excellent service. They don't add a service charge (they should do), so make sure you leave a tip - they deserve it. Famous for its pie and pint evening specials, which I haven't tried yet.

Having see the good reviews we booked a table for lunch at 1:00pm on a Wednesday. We were the only people in the entire place so there was zero atmosphere, however decoratively it was very pleasant and warm on a cold day. The food was poor - the calamari starter was very rubbery and the pheasant pot roast mains were dry and under seasoned. Given we were the only customers it took a long time for the food to arrive and unfortunately wasn't worth the wait.

Took my mum last Sunday for their roast & really enjoyed it apart from overdone roast potatoes. Desserts were the the real highlight though, absolute quality. Just one slight observation, they've a great log burner fire, which is a real treat on cold autumn evening. Though its hidden from view on both sides by table & chairs, I think on one side it would be possible to reconfigure their layout to allow the fire to shown off to its best. Think its a great crowd puller on a cold winters day ?

Went for a dinner on Saturday night. Loved the decor and atmosphere, tables are far enough apart so you don't feel squashed. Ordered scallops for starter and halibut for main. It was lovely. Service was quick and staff friendly. A great place and will need to come back for a meat dish!

One of my favourite restaurants in the area, the food is consistently of the highest standard and Tanya and her team front-of-house always look after their guests really well (and mix some superb cocktails!). Spent NYE here this year with (again) great food, efficient service and such a warm and friendly atmosphere. Given the many and varied prior incarnations on the site, they’ve done such a good job of turning this place into an excellent hotel, restaurant and bar.

Food was delivered after delivery time being pushed back by an hour- when food arrived one of the boxes was covered in an orange mystery liquid. Food was cold and poorly prepared, and the Diet Coke ordered was a year out of date.

Fred has now taken back running the pub and is open for customers. Lovely to see hi. Back running his own pub as it should be.
