Aji Sushi in Brighton and Hove

First rate food in a friendly atmosphere where you can see the chefs preparing the food . Loved the sushi and sashimi , followed by tempura . Fresh tasty fish beautifully presented. A firm favourite of ours now.

This is a great restaurant to bring the kids. It was reasonably priced, delicious fresh food and the whole family enjoyed it.

Great sushi, really great teriyaki chicken ( how did they get it so tender??), amazing prawns...overall wow! We got really drunk and had a great time. And it is 200 m from my house ... good value too, go !

This quirky eccentric shabby chic establishment is situated on the outskirts of town. The sushi is to die for!! Left with a food baby at the end lol. Would highly recommend.

We discovered this little place a few weeks ago. The food was amazing and the bento box lunch offer is a great value. Soup and Kimchi came as a surprise in addition to the generous bento portions. Couldn't finish it all but it was wonderful. I wish we had a place like this near us. Staff friendly and food arrived quickly. If I ever go to Hove again, I will definitely pop by again - or I might actually go to Hove only for the Japanese food! Honestly one of the best places I have eaten in the UK.

The best sushi in town! Great quality and amazing taste and perfect portions, friendly staff and the restaurant has a warm and cozy atmosphere & music makes you feel like you are in Japan.

We visit whenever we have the money. Faultless. Worth the travel, worth the wait and worth the price.

The meals were delicious. The inside of the restaurant was small but the sushi chefs were right in front of me and I looked at them cooking and even had a conversation with them. Would definitely recommend to others

We asked for the chef’s selection sashimi and It was lovely. The portions were very generous and the fish delicious. We also asked for the chefs selection. Nigiri, which was just the same selection as the sashimi, which was a real shame. Considering we had the other chef’s selection they could have mixed it up. Also the rice had no real flavour. It wasn’t prepared well, just cooked with no flavouring, which is not how it should be. What was worse though was the ambience and the way the place was managed. They have an open preparation area, which could be lovely, but this was messy and unclean. There were plastic tubs everywhere, implements strewn around and the whole prep area was cluttered. The staff were arguing amongst themselves, and one was moaning about tips all the time in front of the customers. I have no idea who was managing the place, if there was anyone. There was just doing their own thing. When we arrived the bench table was sticky, there were no plates, or serving implements, and when they do arrive they did in bits and pieces. Some were left from previous customers, and some “were still being washed”. Overall this place needs a proper manager. There is potential with the quality of the food but if someone could get hold of running the place it could be a real highlight. It’s definitely not now.

Fantastic food, lovely atmosphere. Waitresses were lovely and attentive, and it was great to watch our food being cooked in front of us. Very small place so really cosy fun atmosphere!

This was genuinely the best sushi we had eaten. 100% recommend Aji sushi. It may come across a bit pricey but it is so worth it because everything was so fresh (the salmon in particular) and the edamame was like no other!

Tried this fairly new place for dinner and really glad we did. Food was freshly prepared in front of us, but in an unassuming/unintrusive way, tasted excellent, good selection and dessert was sublime. Very relaxed atmosphere and good value too.
