Wabi Sabi Hove in Brighton and Hove

Absolutely the best Japanese restaurant in UK! The food was delicious, the service was very good, the waiters was very nice! We are gonna come back next time.

Wow. Best Katsu curry I’ve ever had!! The perfect spot for an amazing dinner with friends or a memorable date night. The food was insane, service was so warming and welcoming and all round just an amazing restaurant. Will be returning soon!

Tried this place recently with high expectations but sadly didn't blow us away. Sushi was good but the mains were very basic. I had the Teriyaki Salmon Donburi but it was just plain rice, salmon and a bit of side salad. Really disappointing when so many good options in Hove. 4 people came to £200 with drinks, so best sticking with other options.

The food here is absolutely delicious! Every dish we tried was bursting with flavour. Highly recommend this restaurant. I’m always back and order new dishes.

The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere and staff are very nice and accommodating. The sushi was really good and tasted very fresh, really enjoyed it. The gyoza were also lovely and filling had a nice flavour. The only downside was the crab salad, the crab did not taste very fresh and I had found a few strands of hair in the food (my own hair was tied back in ponytail) the staff were understanding about it and removed it off our bill, the girl serving us handled that situation professionally which was good and is a credit to the service here. I’d love to come back, but would advise investigating where the hair is coming from, or if people are wearing their hair nets properly. Other than that, really nice place to eat.

My favorite place in Brighton to get a sushi takeaway! I’ve never dined in the restaurant but if it’s this good as a takeaway, I can only imagine it’s even better dining in ☺️ It’s a bit on the pricey side but the quality of food really makes it worth it!

My partner called and booked my family in for my birthday on Christmas Eve. We arrived at the time of the reservation to be told that the kitchen is closed. I’ve been a loyal customer of this restaurant for years, but this error is so upsetting, with little sympathy from the staff at the restaurant. I even went back on my own one afternoon for lunch, and there wasn’t much of an apology and have decided to never return. Please treat your loyal customers with respect in future.

One of my favourite restaurants but extremely disappointed tonight booked a table for NYE and then told no table as over booked and because of it being NYE no hope of getting any where else. This restaurant as amazing as food is needs to only book in house and not online as well. This is second tie this had happened to us

This was our third time eating at Wabi Sabi and it was lovely as always. We ordered the veggie platter, and while it came out with omelette rolls, they were kind enough to swap them out for extra inarizushi after we said we had asked for our meal to be vegan. The staff were all very kind and the food is delicious! I’ll definitely be returning in the future ☆

The service and food were really good. However, it was really busy. We were sitting in the corner right next to the fire door. We still had a nice experience.

Good food, gotten by deliveroo so servicetechnucally by them but quick and no issues, got everything we wanted and needed. Maybe the restaraunt would've had more energy. Problem, half an egg...... seriously couldn't put in a whole egg. I know eggs are expensive at the moment however bulk buying and through a reataraunt, I would've assumed a half an egg wouldn't have been breaking the metaphorical egg. The kimchi was only half full which makes me think the price of cabbage has gone up significantly in 2024. For 5 quid I would've either been making more kimchi in bulk as it should store due to the fermentation practices or use a smaller tub and fill it up. I did really like they put cling film over the broth and the lid over the cling film. Good work

Came here for dinner. We used first table to get 50% off our order (but have to get 1 full priced drink) Best in mind the sharing isn’t in the 50%, just talk with waiter very clearly BEFORE you order. We had some confusion but it got sorted. Food very good, boat was cool

I had an incredibly good experience here. The atmosphere is lovely and soothing. The staff are very quick to help and everything came out quickly. Lots and lots of options of food and drink and priced very well. I loved eating here thank you so much!

The place is gorgeous and authentic. I requested a quiet, calmed table for my bday and we got a lovely private one. The team even brought me sweets and sang happy birthday to me. Brilliant range for choice on menu and delicious food. We had veggie sushi, chicken wings and tempura veggies for starters - all lush. Duck, chicken noodles, bento box and pumpkin katsu all tried and enjoyed a lot. Good service. Lovely presentation of food. Good value for money. Teensy issue was Deliveroo drivers in and out on a chilly day and we were right by the door. We will soooooo be back.

Really nice food, decent value, good service. Only one really obvious thing they could improve was that the drinks we ordered before the food came after the food. If they had someone serving drinks rather than the waitresses (who struggled to find the time) it would be better and - just a hint - they might sell a lot more drinks, you never know. The grilled aubergine is stunning, the seaweed is great, the squid with garlic and chill was great too. Overall I am really looking forward to my next visit - thanks! I am looking forward to trying their dimsum ...

Best sushi I have had for some time!!

Good quality food, very quick service, good value for money and excellent experience overall.

I’ve ordered in three times from this place - all three times of the identical item. The first two times were fabulous which is what made me return for the same item. To my disappointment the amount of sashimi on the rice bowl had been drastically cut back - paper thin salmon unlike the first two times. Garnish was also not the same. I felt a bit cheated from the difference today I’m unsure if I’ll order in the future.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Food and drink were presented beautifully. Everything was delicious. Had a wonderful time and looking forward to my next visit.

An amazing dinner anniversary! Greeted kindly at the door, we arrived early, but were courteously given a choice of table as soon as we arrived (not because it was empty, but because we got lucky). The atmosphere is amazing and the interior very cute. For drinks we had a unique take on the classic Caipirinha and Pornstar martini cocktails. Very nicely presented and tasted delicious. We started our dinner with the tempura prawns and chicken gyoza. The prawns were amazing, the tempura batter was close to perfect! The Gyoza was good but had room for improvement. Overall good start. We then opted for the King salmon roll, creamy salmon uramaki, california roll and the dragon unagi roll. They were all fantastic and tasted so fresh! The king salmon roll, stile the show! Our Waitress, Jess, was kind and knowledgeable and at the end of our dinner, she surprised us with a cute desert platter to celebrate. 10/10 A lovely experience for this memorable day! Well done to the whole team at Wabi Sabi!

The foods are amazing and it was the most fresh fish i’ve ever had in Brighton!! The only place I can go in Brighton for the most amazing and authentic foods. The atmosphere is really good and can take a lot of instagrammable pics there. The service was incredibly good as well.

Visited for dinner. The food was good, but the service was very poor. Not sure if we were missed in the system, but we had a different wait staff every time, and the timing was quite off. My partner's cocktail turned up, mine arrived 10 minutes later. Our starters came out very quickly - our main was seriously delayed, and we asked twice and were told "it's coming" but it only arrived after all the tables around us had been fully served and had paid and left. Our table wasn't cleared when our desserts arrived, so we were cramped on a small table, trying to eat dessert with our main dishes still present. Overall disappointing.

Great food and waiting staff (lady with undercut hair was amazing). But the restaurant is not pleasant. There is a constant queue of delivery men (some stink!) moving in and out, chasing orders right next to your table so you can't relax at all! Separate area needed or just do takeaway.

We went last week for a birthday and returned this week because it was so good. The staff were really helpful with dishes that were vegan. It would be easier if there was an indication on the menu of items that were vegan or could be tailored to be vegan. Many restaurants indicate this with V VE or VO for vegan option) Great sushi, chef’s specials are delicious and all the food is really good.

I came in yesterday with my wife, and we ordered a sushi boat. The price was extremely overpriced compared to the quality I was given. As well as that, I went home with a poor stomach due to the food I was served. Also the waitress who served me was extremely rude, when I got my food, I politely asked for another serviette, and the waitress sighed and gave me a dirty stare to whole time I was eating, making me feel uncomfortable and overall I had a terrible experience. The look of the place seems lovely, but the food and service says otherwise.

The outside of this restaurant belies how cool it is inside-there’s a flash of neon but it felt calm, with waitresses gliding in between tables & the sound of the chef chopping vegetables. The food was awesome, beautifully presented, fresh & tasty. There was so much to chose from, it was nearly intimidating! But we ordered about three dishes at a time & more if we fancied…which we often did. We left feeling satisfied but not stuffed, which was lovely.

What a lovely gem in Church Road, Hove. First time visiting this evening. I had the non alcoholic cocktail Shepherds Delight £8 A refreshing blend of fresh mint, strawberry puree, and cranberry juice, orange juice topped with soda The chef’s signature dish Amai Duck £20 Pan-seared tender duck breast with raspberry teriyaki sauce, grilled pineapple and rice Very tasty and fresh. Friendly and welcoming staff.

Stumbled across Wabi Sabi by chance and they had a table free for us early on a Sunday evening - so glad we found this gem! We ordered the squid to start - absolutely delicious - definitely recommend. Followed by spicy salmon roll, katsu roll, prawn tempura roll and the dragon volcano roll 😍 Including soft drinks and service, the meal totalled £58 which we thought was excellent value for money, given how great the food was. Lovely decor and staff too - will definitely return.

This became a sushi over a year ago and I've never been in because I loved it as Hins, the Chinese and this was my childish, futile protest....with the demise / disappearance of my favourite Hove Sushi spot....I grabbed a quick bite this evening (chirasi sushi don).....basically it's been my loss not coming in! Great place, lovely people, super food. And I learned a life lesson.....grow up and let change happen 😁

Ordered food late at night, they got here 20 mins early and the food was still piping hot and tasted amazing. One of the best takeaways I've had in a while.

The timings during the whole meal were terrible. Our drinks were strangely served one by one, and the total process of this lasted way over 30 minutes. The total time for all our main meals to be served was over an hour and a half from when we arrived. We also had to remind the waiting staff several times for one of our starters. Food was substandard, but as commented previously way too much salt. Our total bill was ~£250, begrudgingly we paid the £20 service. But would not recommend it. It's a shame as we had look forward to this.

Takeaway spent £50 got portions that would be for one. Thai tempest doused in chilli inedible my mouth is burning even after scraping it all off incomprehensible. Food bland overall sushi covered in roe just awful. Never again.

Very disappointed with our special-occasion meal here on a Sunday evening. The food was mediocre (far too much salt on the edamame beans, far too much glaze on the teriyake salmon - new chef apparently!), but what spoilt it most was the awful service. No-one was paying attention and one meal arrived so late the other diner had almost finished theirs. We had to collect our own wine from the bar as it was sat there so long. The manager handled the situation badly and we were left feeling he really didn't care. Will not be returning.

Had dinner here with my partner who fancied sushi and was blown away by the quality of the food, cosy stylish decor and warmth of staff. We had Thai-infused sashimi and it was a taste sensation... loved our dishes so much will definitely be heading back again soon!! Can highly recommend the lychee martini too - yum yum best meal and night out we’d had in ages!!!

Ordered online and would not do so again. Online system defaults to Panda and this arrived very late, with no info or tracking. Couple of calls to restaurant reassured but still food was very late. Food was decent when it arrived but I would not order online again nor use the Panda delivery service, which was the default service on the restaurant website. Restaurant might want to rethink how the delivery services might undermine their reputation.

Eat here if you only get to eat Japanese Sushi once. Eat here if you get to eat Japanese food often! Simply eat here. And bring family and friends.

Had a starter and Ramen, Starter was great and then the ramen came, it wasn’t as spicy as said so I added more spices and then it wasn’t that hot more warm which wasn’t ideal. It was a weird time of day but still expected hot fresh food. Will defo be going back

We both ordered hot and cold starters. I tried better ones but still delicious. Also we tried the boat sushi set, It was extremely fulfilling. Service was half great half poor. It was quick but it took some time them to take the empty plates.

Fantastic food. Really couldn’t fault it and everyone at the table agreed. Would highly recommend. Lots to choose from and the drinks are amazing too! One big negative that the restaurant needs to address is the delivery timing of the food. We all ordered individually, being a starter and main from the menu. Two had finished both courses before the others had delivery of theirs. We all wanted to eat together. Felt like there’s only one person in the kitchen doing amazing culinary things but need help satisfying customers eating all at the same time.

We stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant today whilst looking for somewhere to stop for lunch. We were blown away by the quality of the food, the service and the ambiance. The portions were generous and it was very reasonably priced with great value for money. The owner made an effort to ask us if we had enjoyed our meal and asked if we had any feed back. We would highly recommend this restaurant and we will be back soon!

Food was absolutely gorgeous! I had a gorgeous bowl of spicy Ramen, friends had rice bowls. One ordered incorrectly and the staff changed her meals swiftly and with no fuss. An exceptional recommendation from a friend and will be telling all my others! “Bloody lovely!” As I told the owner.
