Nice looking venue but could do with a bit more lighting in the bar area - which looks like and is used as a restaurant wing that allows patrons to dine with their dogs present. Food was very nice but the puddings at about £8.50 each were expensive, as was the beer. Wine was pleasant and fairly priced. Staff were lovely and quite attentive, but we had to ask for salt and pepper etc - and while our mains arrived promptly, it did take 45 minutes for our puddings to get to us after ordering on what was a relatively quiet evening. Service charge at 12.5% was a bit steep however and it slapped an extra £19+ on to our bill. Would we go back? Probably not - the beer, puddings and service charge were too expensive.

Initial greeting was polite enough, but a bit distant. The building is well presented and we were given complimentary bread and water. The menu was good, although the mains don't generally come with any vegetables and you need to pay extra, so the fixed 2 or 3 course price is better value. We both had the pork belly. It was a little bit dry and one piece of the crackling was so hard as to be inedible. I like my veg al dente but the broccoli was rock hard and I left it. Puddings didn't really inspire us, so we stuck to one course. Bill was over £60 for 2 drinks and one course each, so a bit pricey for me - I've eaten better, cheaper with warmer service staff.

This is a small village pub rather than a travellers refreshment stop. If you can see past the worn interior and are not expecting gourmet food you will find a warm welcome and very good basic pub food. My wife and I enjoyed getting off the motorway and the fact that we very much enjoyed our visit here probably says more about us than the pub itself.

This weekend, myself and Vinnie were booked to DJ at a Wedding Reception here at The Lamb Inn in Swanley Village. We thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a breath of fresh air escaping London for the day to visit this intimate but charming Inn. The staff were very accomodating despite being run off their feet and the locals most welcoming and appreciative of our work. We very much hope to return to The Lamb Inn again in the future be it for work or leisure and cannot wait to also sample the menu. Thank you Lamb Inn and Mr Hart for having us along to entertain you at your wedding reception.

An out of the way but proper pub. Hospitable people run it with real ale and decent albeit basic food on offer. The ham with the ham ,egg and chips was very good, as was the real ale and red wine. Saturday lunch. Busy but not too busy. Really nice food well presented. Excellent staff, excellent service. You have to use WiFi to download a menu to your mobile which is, unfortunately, a pain !! The screen is obviously small. Just laminate some menus !!! It's easier & quicker and makes reading and glancing through so much quicker & better. I have no problem reading through a menu on a tablet provided but cannot be bothered with the hassle of logging on, downloading, scrolling back & forth and again back & forth etc etc multiple times. But overall enjoyable.

Whilst during a two night stay we ate at the restaurant one evening. I started with the mussels in a Thai green sauce. The good portion of mussels were cooked to perfection although the sauce was a little too hot for my taste. However, if like my partner, who couldn't stop pinching them, you like that kick, you'll love them. We then had the steak deal for two. Steak, chips, salad & a side of onions rings were also perfect. The friendliness of our hosts made for a very enjoyable stay.

Good selection of dishes. Tasty and well cooked in the case of our choices. Single item on the specials board was particularly tasty. Apple crumble and ice cream was delicious. Minor gripes: Almond tart was probably not home made and a bit expensive. Crumble and beef pie served in the dish they had been cooked in as seems to be popular these days. A bit fiddly for the customer but less hassle for the restaurant. Would prefer them to be served in/on a proper dish/plate. Some of the prices are a little 'adventurous' Service was prompt and polite at all times. Overall a pleasant enough experience. Will probably return

Having eaten in the restaurant before and enjoyed it greatly, we made a booking for this last Saturday evening. The booking was confirmed. Imagine our surprise therefore to turn up and find a rude notice on a blackboard saying no food as the team were all "off site". Off site indeed! Then why was our booking accepted? This arrogant and off-hand treatment has only served to make us determined never to go there again - so if you are wise you will avoid this sort of treatment and choose the Trout at Tadpole Bridge or anywhere else nearby for that matter.

A really relaxing evening was required at the end of a very warm April day. I was catching up with an old friend so we took a while to look at the menu and decide on a meal - no pressure to do so at all from staff. Eventually we both decided one of the specials on the board - my friend went for a homemade pie and seasonal veg and I had the lamb dish - I suspected Moroccan style from the name - what arrived was quite delicious - served with cous- cous, pomegranate seeds, wilted spinach (I think) and a lovely yoghurt sauce.

Bloomfields did the catering for a conference of 60 people in Shrivenham. We requested finger food. The venue was poorly equipped for the conference which meant we had to provide almost everything we needed, including plates, tea and coffee. The food was amazing. Delicious, interesting and varied. They accommodated a variety of dietary requests, including food for a gluten-free vegan, without compromising on taste in the slightest. Tim, who brought the food, could not have been more accommodating. He put out the food for us throughout the day, took away the surplus and popped back to the shop several times to pick up the most basic supplies that the venue failed to provide. The best recommendation of all is the number of compliments we had from delegates who loved the food.
