A lovely little place hidden like a pearl in a clam! Drinks averagely priced but fantasticly tasting. Staff wonderful, event itself (with a cherry on top) was so much fun! Stairs to upper level..may be unsuitable for some. Clean bathrooms, floors weren't sticky - it's a huge thumbs up from me!

UPDATE - The bar has now changed ownership and these guys just do not know how to run a bar. The menu is awful, the drinks are awful, the staff aren't friendly. It's not what it used to be and I'd be surprised if they haven't run it into the ground within the next 6 months. Lovely quirky bar. Friendly team. Needs to serve strawberry daiquiris though to be a proper cocktail bar!

Here for the burlesque show by the cream tease's Miss Cherry Buns. Lovely bar downstairs with friendly helpful staff, upstairs was a great well laid out performance space. A great show and a delightful evening, will hopefully be back for future performances.

After two rounds of shorts they stopped serving the group. With an average age of 50+ and DUE TO the obvious seniority of this team we were shocked. Then they said they didn’t serve Russians and Americans, really upset us, 3 of us were UK citizens born and bred! We left politely and spent our money in a place that were glad to have our custom. Drink at the tipsy mercer IF YOU LIKE NO FUN!

Me and my partner are here most of the time we occasionally ask for things that are off menu and the bar tenders are always happy to help They are always on trend with new cocktails but also bring back the classics I would always recommend the tipsy mercer to my friends and I would always come back the staff are fantastic and friendly and always up for something new

Lovely atmosphere and love the little candles on the tables! Staff also great - received some recommendations from the manager and thoroughly enjoyed the Elderflower Garden mocktail! 100% recommend - plenty of room and super relaxing!

We visit Abingdon regularly but rarely get the chance to spend much time in the town so stumbling across this place was a lovely surprise. The atmosphere was fabulous, the staff all really friendly and the cocktails were divine. Will definitely try and make it a more regular visit.

Been here before, loved it, whilst waiting for my drink, i noticed short measures being given in cocktails. My drink was messed up, no ice in the Gin either, had to ask for a slice in it. Wasnt hard only ordered 2 drinks.TBH gone down hill big time.

It’s always a pleasure to go to the Mercer. Eleanor and her team create a nice friendly relaxed atmosphere. Lovely cocktails and mocktails and a good selection of wines and local beers.

The staff Emily and Jamie were incredibly friendly and gave me the time of day. The drinks were wonderful with a great selection and fairly reasonable as well! All in all a wonderful time

For a cocktail bar they don't offer many cocktails, with only one or two that contain rum. The seasonal menu is for last season as they are mainly christmassy. I checked to see if they were still serving the seasonal menu and they said yes but when it came to order they couldn't make the only one I wanted. Overall J was pretty disappointed

Reserved a large booking table online via their website, which worked :) Lovely bustle to the atmosphere in the pub, well made cocktails and attentive staff (despite being very busy) made for a lovely evening.

A very welcoming and open friendly space that just happens to make the best cocktails in Abingdon! We popped in mid afternoon for something “robust” and settled on their Espresso Martini - mixed and shaken to perfection using coffee made from the UK’s only wood smoked coffee bean! The perfect balance of vanilla, sugar, coffee, kahlua and vodka is a constant goal… and one these guys have managed expertly. These were some amazing cocktails! With live music evenings and the best cocktails in Abingdon, why would you not stop in for a quick refresher (or a slow refuel)?

I popped in for a (planned) quick pint whil waiting for a take away meal and liked the place - it has a young friendly feel and was very welcoming. I live locally and had looked in on two other nearby pubs and really wasn't attracted to them, I prefer the slighly younger and continental feel about the Mercer. Will I go back - yes.

We found this little gem in the heart of Abingdon. Prices slightly more inflated than the likes of Crown and thistle but pleasant comfortable surroundings with a nice atmosphere. Warm and friendly staff too!.

Great bar. Always relaxed vibe. Bonus if you get there during Happy Hours 2 for £10. Lovely spot to drop in, have a couple of drinks, chat and watch the world go by.

We have been into The Tipsy Mercer many times, it has remained consistently good since it opened! They have just reopened following the easing of the lockdown restrictions and are still offering amazing cocktails with good friendly service! They are dog friendly too!

A great independent pub (no food) - just a pub - awesome staff too. No real ale but some great craft beers. Good range of spirits, wines and cocktails. Not the cheapest but worth it for the atmosphere and deserves to succeed in these difficult times. Live music upstairs (when allowed) from local artists too.

Very welcoming bar serving cocktails, wine and craft beers. You can also order coffee and tea. They have an upstairs room sometimes used for live music. Can only recommend this.

I love this place. We had a relaxing afternoon here with our friends and family the day before our wedding back in October. The staff were lovely, they accommodated us all with ease, service was quick, and drinks were tasty (good selection of beers and wines). The interior has been really nicely done and provided the perfect backdrop for the afternoon. Looking forward to nipping along for one of their live music nights.

A very nice local bar, not far from home. They have a good choice of cocktails and often have happy hour. They also have a upstairs, which can be hired privately and they sometimes have live music/pianist at the weekends. All in all friendly staff, great music and great drinks.

They should improve cocktails or lower the price slightly.

A personal favourite of mine in Abingdon. Fantastic service from all the very friendly staff. Rotating selection of draught beers, a great fridge and spirit selection, and some top notch cocktails on offer. Service has always been pleasant and prompt, with the staff all being suitable attentive. A good atmosphere, particularly when it gets a little busier such as when a live music performance is on. If you're looking for a break from the typical traditional pub in town, this is the place to go.

Had a great night in here on Saturday. Cocktails are done to perfection, bar staff are polite, friendly and always smiling, there is also enough of them working so you are not waiting long to be served when busy. A pianoist was playing live upstairs and to my surprise the songs were lively and great for a dance and sing a long. It's a place where you can either go for a quiet drink with friends or enjoy a party atmosphere. This is just what Abingdon needed!

Saturday was a fantastic evening the first time I had visited this bar for a friends birthday celebration. The bar was busy and buzzing a fantastic atmosphere with a live singer who was amazing. Love the rustic look to the venue very classy filled with really nice people. Can’t wait to go again

Been visiting this bar fairly regularly since it opened. The staff are always very welcoming with nothing ever being too much trouble. Drink selection is excellent and the atmosphere in this bar is just what Abingdon needed. I would highly recommend for a great evening out in town.

Second time I’ve been in since opening night, as usual the energy was electric, staff were amazing and very officiant. Drinks were delicious, toilets very clean. Empty glasses taken away very promptly - great experience. Will be returning (when I’m much less hungover)

The tipsy mercer was our chosen venue for a suprise 40th. James and Henry put on a fantastic spread for us. Nothing was to much trouble. The live music on the piano was just amazing. Fantastic atmosphere with a packed out bar. All the staff pulled out all the stops with top cocktails flowing all night long. Can't recommend them enough.
