This is a gem of a pub in the village of East Hoathly. Bob the landlord and Owen the brewer are lovely, friendly guys! The food is fantastic and good value for money.

Lovely village pub. We (two adults and three children) booked easily by phone and went for a Sunday roast. We were immediately welcomed warmly and the staff at the table and at the bar were kind and caring. We were even given two tables to sit more comfortably. The roast was delicious and so were the cheese cake and the chocolate fudge. Also, the serving is generous. Based on our experience, probably best booking and definitely worth a visit!

Superb classic country English pub. Classic, reliable, tasty, home cooked food. We ate the cajun salmon and the broccoli and cauliflower cheese bake - both were delicious. The Shiraz they offer by the glass is fantastic too. The staff were efficient and friendly. Everyone at the pub seemed really nice too. Really good value and would highly recommend it.

A proper village pub with its own microbrewery and great food - what more could you ask for? In the heart of East Hoathly, East Sussex, The King's Head is a traditional public house serving a good range of drinks and menu items. If you're travelling along the A22, or if you're wanting a country getaway, be sure to pop in for a relaxing session.

I was staying at the seemingly expensive East Sussex National along the road. Myself and wife decided to book for a Sunday lunch: we both had the roast lamb which came with all the trimmings. It was excellent! Dessert was by way of sticky toffee pudding and salted caramel & honeycomb ice-cream - which was equally as lovely. When you come in it seems to have a real country/village pub atmosphere and the bar staff were amazingly friendly and attentive. Great food, great selection of ales/beers and ciders, great staff.

Very cute and quaint pub, with lovely staff… but please don’t eat here. After ordering five meals, and waiting almost an hour for the food, we wished we hadn’t bothered. The peri chicken felt like it had a curry paste rubbed over it last minute before serving, the scampi was cold and bland, and the kids chilli was ridiculously spicy. So very disappointing.

Called in for a snack at lunch time today, after going there for a drink a few days ago after work with some colleages ( it was the first time I had ever been to this pub). I thought this is very nice here!! I will call in again. My wife and just had a starter each which was very nice, although the amount of bread served with it was quite meagre, we asked for some more bread and a single slice was bought out to us. When we checked our receipt on leaving the pub and we were amazed to discover that we had been charged an extra pound for the slice of bread!! A pound for a slice of bread...really!! This rather spoiled a lovely lunch and tarnished our visit.

Paths much better almost walkable without getting too muddy. Woodland area going up the hill needs some work to improve the path. A nice walk overall. Would be nice if dog walkers could read and actually respect "keep your dog on a lead!" Plus pick up after it it isn't difficult!!
