The Jack Fairman in Reigate and Banstead

Called in whilst on way home from holiday, service, food and menu were all good, food was well cooked, overall a great experience.

Lovely traditional breakfast, very enjoyable...topped off with a cold, delicious apple juice...very good, friendly service...would recommend to others..x

Wer in einen der Wetherspoon-Pubs geht, weiß, was ihn erwartet. Aber das "Jack Fairman" in Horley ist wirklich einer der besseren Wetherspoon Pubs. In einer alten Garage (also Werkstatt) des ehemaligen Rennfahrers Jack Fairman, hat man erstaunlich viel von der Originalausstattung sichtbar gelassen und zeigt so, dass dieser Ort Rennfahrergeschichte hat. Das Essen, welches ich hatte war typisch Wetherspoon. Günstig und eben das, was man in England "value for money" nennt.

Nice friendly staff, quick service, with carpark at the rear. The food was good with fair prices, and as always with spoons unlimited hot drinks.

Have been here for food other than breakfast but today was a disappointment the breakfast came up cold and the bacon was very fatty has put me off having it again

My wife and I went for breakfast Saturday 3rd. Ordered breakfast muffins and coffee. As always while waiting you note how clean the tables and surroundings are. Food arrived in timely manner. As alway being senior you need to go to toilets my wife had earlier had commented how clean the ladies were. The gents were also spotless the staff member who’s name when asked said it was Elisia? I did mentioned the Jack Fairman was the cleanest Wetherspoons for miles. I would hope local and Senior management take note and look after this valued asset.

I've been warned off the food by several local residents and the smell of the breakfasts as I sat in the bar wasn't inviting. However, the speed of service was a total joke and it's always very annoying to the customer when there are enough people around to provide good service but they're standing around chatting with each other. I won't be back.

Absolutely fantastic. Was served my breakfast in a very quick and efficient manor: the last that took my order was very polite as was the lady that brought me my food. The food was hot fresh and delicious. Very reasonable pricing too.

we live in essex but whenever we go to gatwick airport , rather than get involved in the crowds , we leave early and eat at the jack fairman - the staff are always helpful and the food and drinks are always good .

This place is absolutely blinding, a great place to meet up with friends.... Chicken wings are the best around and very few pubs sell flavours of Monster Energy Only thing is staff can be a bit grouchy when smoking in the wrong bit, it's not very well signposted but over all a great pub

Came here for dinner and drinks. Ordered food via the app. Service was not great. Waitress bought food out and enquired about the onion rings that came with my meal as they were missing. She went to find out and said they haven’t got onion rings. No apology, no offer of a refund/replacement which was disappointing.

Had a mixed grill it was dreadful, tough meat chips hard and had probably been hanging around for a while.will never eat in the fairman again.

I know Wetherspoons Manager have the right to refuse people of the license holder for no reason fine I understand a bit. But what don,t understand Is I got mistake and identity at horley Wetherspoons I was not in watherspoon 8 oct I went to see abba in London . I got kicked out for no reason on 9 oct because I was supposedly Abusive behaviour on 8 oct which I never did as was not at the pub atll. The pink hair girl manager and chef go to manager I thought you said She was they On 8 oct which I was not atll. I was there two weeks ago in Horley Wetherspoons she never kicked me out than. They making stories up about me which I think it’s very unfair Wetherspoons Head office got to changed their policy because it’s not fair. Disability discrimination act in 2010 as I have learning disabilities autistic and Mental Health that really damages a person and affects them. I can’t do nothing about it I can’t talk to them because they’re refuse to listen to me and I can’t come in there or they would call the police so not worth it. And that was my nearest Wetherspoons. They for CTV footage shows them I’m not they 8 oct. They are practically accusing me of hitting staff and the Manager and the chef I do not physically do violence of any kind I don’t believe in violence it’s wrong.

we had recent experience of the "cattle truck"environment at food places in gatwick airport and decided to eat before we arrived at the airport. this was a complete winner , easy parking ,spacious pub/restaurant good prices , quick service and a very enjoyable meal - when we are flying from gatwick again , the Jack Fairman will be our first stop.

I come to this pub often with my family as its my local weatherspons. One particular member of staff seems to dislike children. I was moaned at because my 10 month old dropped some chips on the floor to which I said and I I usually pick up myself however I hadn't had the chance before he came storming over with his dustpan I was told in future "keep it on the table " I then came today for a friend's birthday and ordered my son pasta which looked awful, I gave him some.chocolate buttons afterwards and the same member of staff told me he can't have those in here and if I didn't like it I can leave. He is just a baby I've no idea why he feels this is appropriate. I am an NHS nurse and I wouldn't speak to any of my patients the way I've been spoken to . You should be ashamed of yourself especially when a load of drinks were outside spilling Drinks everywhere !

We arrived at this pub after a day at Legoland Windsor and after setting up a tent for a camping trip. We just about made it before 9pm in time to grab a meal for our family and were slightly worried if we'd get in because children are not supposed to be in Wetherspoon's pubs after 9pm. The staff were very welcoming and did not rush us, despite the time. The food was great value for money. We hadn't eaten for most of the day because of the rushing around so it was a great stop off and start for our holiday.

Great spoons, staff and food top notch. Busy but still no wait for drinks, food out in less than 10 minutes and the food was best spoons we’ve had.

Not what I expect from Spoons! Ordered Steak with chips onions, mushroom, tomato and peas. No tomato "We haven't got any". Where can I find salt? We haven't got any! 50 yards from a supermarket! Steak very poor too. Not great!

Sunday 13th March, charity organised event, so a lot of people about. Food was fine, photos attached. I had the panini, others had the breakfast and one had a jacket potato. Service was a little slow, but not surprising.

Always good value for money, pleasant staff and the cleanest toilets I have ever seen. You won't be disappointed with the breakfast!

Opens early, closes late, decently sized venue. In the evening when it gets busy it can be difficult to find a table, as the ones that are empty, normally have piles of uncleared plates from previous diners. Still, can’t expect too much from a Spoons....

I pop in here regularly for their excellent breakfast and occasional evening pint or three. Clean, very spacious , efficient and friendly staff, quick service, OK to good food and fantastic prices. Well run and definitely worth a visit.

The place is looking tired and feels dirty. The booth material seats do not appear to have been washed in years. Parts of the wooden seats are broken. Worse of all is the tables and contact points dont appear to be cleaned after use and...

The pub was filthy. Tables left of old glasses. Tables never cleaned before next customer sits at them. Gents toilet was disgusting. Floor covered in urine, sinks covered in used tissue. Overall, a big Covid breeding place.

Have used Fairmans on a number of occasions both for breakfast and lunch. Good place to go for families. Very similar to other Wetherspoons. Good food, served quickly and served hot.

Love being back in my favourite pub/restaurant until I visited the toilets. As sanitation is of paramount importance during these CoVid days I was shocked to see 5 of the 6 toilets disgustingly dirty and full of unflushed crap. Meaning nobody had attended the toilets...

Whilst the breakfasts are well worth the money, you have to ask yourself if it's still worth paying a fiver for something that is barely warm. I can only surmise that much of the food is BULK pre-prepared and sitting under halogen lamps until the next order. The eggs are always hard (nothing worse than that crackly skin). Walk a few doors down to the Foresters where it is much quieter and for a couple of quid more you get a satisfying meal and cooked to order. Can't fault it really. I would return to Fairmans but the breakfasts just aren't worth it...

Whenever we visit London, we fly through Gatwick so we can visit JF in Horley! It is such a fun place with great food and an incredible value! We need Jack Fairman in the States! Can’t wait for this horrendous virus to end so we can get back toOur friends in London and head over to Jack Fairman!!

typical spacious weatherspoons , a bit dim inside , uncleared tables even at 11 in the morning . only clientelle were pensioners and women with kids running around uncontrolled. Beer cheap but not great , certainly better places to drink in Horley

Always pretty busy with a good atmosphere and plenty of choice for food and drink the only criticism is it’s always a lottery being served at the bar but hay ho the staff are generally friendly enough well worth a visit particularly if you are staying in the area

Visited on a Sunday teatime busy but still a few tables empty. Every table was full of used plates, napkins , empry glasses etc. Quite clearly not enough staff on to cope with demand. Ordered 2 fish and chips ,fish was so thin on both dinners, should have called it batter and chips, the wish comes in hoping to see some fish, my last fish meal in moons was twice the size, it feels like the cook is cuttings normal portion in two

I appreciate the Jack Fairman is a Wetherspoons pub so food and drink are relatively cheap but how difficult is it to serve hot food, I stop here quite often in the mornings for coffee and a bite to eat and unless you have toast for your breakfast nothing is ever piping hot. It ruins what should be a good hearty value for money breakfast. Strangely lunch time and evening meals are always hot. Sort it out chef !!!!

It’s not the Ritz. But then again it’s far from Ritz prices. Great value. Great food. Good service. Good sized portions. No bad news. Great choice and never had a bad meal here.

This pub is one of my locals and can I say every time me and my family go into here the tables are never cleaned, cleared away they are always full of glasses, plates and left over food and yet they are seeking employees to clean and yet I applied for a job as i have experience and got turned down I feel this establishment needs to brush up on it cleaning and communication skills as things are not clearly getting done.

Stayed in town for 1 night whilst in transit and called into this pub for a meal and a pint. Had the cod and chips which were excellent and very well priced. Huge range of ales on tap, all also well priced. Would reccommend this place to all.

Stood at the bar waiting to order food and a drink for myself. Obviously stood in the wrong place for 10 minutes as ignored by staff who gave priority to those booking online. Won't be coming back for a while.

My wife and I chose the restaurant on the recommendation of the owner of a local B&B.; Interestingly, the bar menu is much larger than the meal menu. You are encouraged to download their App and order your drinks and dinner using the App For whatever reason this didn’t seem to work for me. I order dinner our at the bar. Same item for both of us. Unfortunately, only one went through. The manager apologized and the second order was was placed and was was not charged for.

I’m a regular at this pub in HORLEY staff very friendly food and drink reasonable price , a problem every Sunday that guest have to clean tables them self 75 % of the tables were still not cleaned may I suggest that you have one waiter with a trolley to clean as guest leave the table

Visited on a Friday morning for breakfast which arrived 15 minutes after ordering and was just lukewarm. Tables are not cleared away and they’re very sticky. Not sure who does the cleaning here but it is not good. Heavens knows what it’s like in the kitchen when it’s this bad in the customers area. The floors are also very sticky, again, lack of cleaning or not using the correct/any floor cleaner.

Waited 45 mins for food to arrive stone cold! In the hour I was there I saw more than 10 orders returned as either wrong or cold! When I asked why our breakfasts were not brought out when they were ready I was told that there were 20 orders! I stated that that didn’t answer my question to be told again there’s 20 orders. The large family group next to us were getting their food sporadically and returning it as either wrong order or cold. How can hot food orders be left to go that cold? Disgraceful! Drove over to Crawley and had a piping hot excellently cooked breakfast at the Pelham Buckle, what I should’ve done to begin with. The Jack Fairman is not worthy of being a Wetherspoons.

Not sure what has happened to this place but food is awful and cold . Not enough staff. Tables full of dirty plates. We walked in and walked back out again. Took our business elsewhere. Shame.

The Jack Fairman used to be the best bar and restaurant in Horley and surrounding areas. Now, owing to a major staff shortage issue, the place is rapidly becoming a filthy cesspit. I visit this restaurant daily for breakfast and weekly for meals and drinks with family and friends.

It’s a wet Thursday night and the pub is very busy. Ordered a beer and curry using the App. Very easy to use app. and it works really well. My beer was delivered to (almost thrown on) my table by a chap who didn’t say a word or even look at me. The beer was fine though. The curry cam e a few minutes later and was ok; very average. The tables weren’t very clean but you get what you pay for here. It’s just that other Wetherspoons seem to do a better job

Had Fish and Chips. It was good. Nothing fancy. Very authentic and totally unpretentious English Pub.

Had a Gatwick stopover and figured this was a good place to feed the 5 of us. Confusing at first — Queue for food and drink or download an app to order at the table. Service was slim but warm, food was average but warm. Big bathrooms upstairs with changing table. Easy to pop a squat for a few hours without hassle.

I'm a big fan of Wetherspoon pubs and have been to many of them. This place was terrible, the dirtiest pub/restaurant I have had the misfortune to visit. Short staffed, sticky menus left on the floor, dirty glasses all over. Plus they had no guest ales, they were all waiting to settle apparently, an unlikely story and not one I've ever experienced in any pub - all beers not on and waiting to settle. They didn't have any more like. Someone needs to take a grip of this place - get some staff in, get it cleaned and organise the cellar. It's well short of the standards the company and customers expect.

I came to the jack fair man today around midday for a birthday meal with my mum. We were served by two lovely ladies behind the bar, the service and food were great. However a rather disrespectful young man was also on shift. The two girls were struggling on the bar and asked him for some help but he shouted across the whole restaurant ‘I’m on the floor not behind the bar’ then continued to chat to his friends leaving the poor girls swapped in work. As someone who also works in this industry it was very rude 1 not to help, 2 let the whole restaurant know how rude he was and 3 scream it right next to my table in my ear. Overall ruined the whole experience. The young boy was blonde with glasses.

Popular town centre public house. Range of real ales. Wide menu choice. Food is good as is service. Very competitively priced.

We tried this pub in August as we’d travelled in from Gatwick and we were looking for a reasonable meal and a few drinks. Ordered hop house and they didn’t have any. The bar staff were friendly though.

Went in planning to have a nice lunch, but found the place in a very bad state. There were plenty of free tables, but the majority had not been cleared, and those that were needed a good wipe down, which didn't appear to have happened.

Went here for first time yesterday with husband and friends. Very large pub with plenty of seating. Food and drinks very reasonably priced. Had some food which came out quickly and was really good and filling. Will visit again if in Horley

Menu limited almost exclusively to burgers. You'd think they'd make their signature menu item memorable, but unfortunately it was memorable as being among the worst I've eaten anywhere. Burnt burger served by unhelpful staff who just can't be bothered. Maybe it's better for breakfast.

Me and my partner came in at 10:30 for breakfast. It arrived, I had a large breakfast and my partner had a traditional. We took a few things off and added extra to make up for the things we didn't want. It was hot, well presented and very tasty. Unfortunately, I didnt get any beans but It didnt matter a huge deal as I know they are sugar free beans Haha. Thank you very much and we will definitely be coming back.

Cheap but not cheerful, meals came out luke warm, they did change my wife's meal as it was really cold, but should have came out hot, drinks high priced, staff helpful and busy, do t think we would go back unless very desperate !

Megan was so helpful and had great customer service. I work in customer service and can spot great customer service a mile off! This wether spoons (jack fairman) is lucky to have her working for them!

Been coming here since it opened typical Weatherspoon pub cheap beer and cheap food toilets upstairs — but why does the management NOT train staff to see who’s next to be served with a smile

Visited this establishment as we were staying in the local area before flying off from Gatwick. Usual Weterspoon's value for money on both drink and food which was very good....We visited on a Friday so had the fish & chips. Service was excellent. My only criticism and the reason I didn't score it a five star was that our table hadn't been cleaned. There was no crockery left I grant you but there were the normal spills that you associate with these places....A quick visit to the bar and a damp cloth was given....The barman did offer to clean it for us but I said that we were fine doing it ourselves.

Really popular on a Sunday for brunch but service was quick with the use if their app. Food up to their usual standard and great value!

We had 5 meals and all came up tepid or cold. The halloumi fries were disappointing because they were not hot enough. We had to ask the waiter to wipe our table down as it was so dirty. The chicken was hard like shoe leather! Would never go there again.

We live local and always go for a meal weekly, basically the food is good, when you consider the cost for 2 people with drinks is no more than £20.

Great pub, majority of the staff are very friendly. The service is good, and food is always fast and hot yet also cooked well. Only negative is the atmosphere can be quite dead, like all Wetherspoons they have no music or entertainment, and BBC News in the background. Last few times I have visited during weekends, one of the staff often mans the doors and can be quite aggresive, when checking ID and makes the place appear to be quite rough as he records everybodys ID on his bodycam as they enter the pub. Personally I have never seen much trouble here, but perhaps it can be quite lively later on in the night.

Busiest pub in Horley by far staff are always hit sand miss and they never look to see who’s next to be served good atmosphere with plenty of seating serving typical Wetherspoons grub with plenty of choice in the drink department

I’ve been to this bar a few times and always found it quite pleasant. Most of my visits have been during the day. It’s a big pub,so finding a table is never a problem. The food has always been to a good standard, apart from once when my meal was very greasy. The staff were very good and attentive. As pubs go I would say it’s one of the better ones of this chain

Over the years I've attended perhaps a dozen retirement parties here, and watched the staff deal with gatherings ranging from a couple of dozen to almost a hundred, as well as their regular clients, and I've got to say I've been impressed, both by their efficiency and positive attitude. The beer has always been good, and finger food of a decent standard.

As a local of the RH6 area, hmmmm yeah service with a smile ZERO points, polite and friendly hmmmmm if this was Euro vision (is the UK allowed in this post brexit???) Well as of 26th March thats ummm still nul points for polite local friendly bar staff.

The management are doing the pub and their staff a monumental disservice by rarely having enough staff to cater for the number of guests. It’s a very regular occurrence now - tables stacking up with dirty glasses and plates, Q’s of very antagonistic and fed up customers trying to get served, dirty and wet counters and general Mayhem. Not just occasionally but nearly every weekend or bust period. The poor few staff on duty are being forced to work in an excessively Stressful environment. Profits before staff and customers is turning many away. You have a serious staff shortage issue and you need to sort it out.

Although it was a very busy lunchtime being St Patrick’s day the staff did a very good job, had to wait for a table but as soon as we got one all was good. Food was quick and very tasty

We usually love this place. Regular visits every couple.of months on a Friday or Saturday night. I visited with my Dad on Friday...... the place was a mess. The girl behind the bar favoured regulars. The guy running it was putting out biscuits or something in a basket behind the bar while front of house was the pits....the lunch we had was disappointing. Never seen a smaller fish n chips...a smear if mushy peas a few chips and most of the fish was battery whilst others we saw hung off the plate. My jacket potato was small the chilli almost non existent .....the beer ...one was good .....Dad's Hobgoblin tasted past its best. Mmm....he has been put off. I will visit again but they need to do better. Next time I will go directly to Tim.

I am ninety years old and have been going to this Wetherspoons regularly for fish and chip Friday and normally have a reasonable experience. Not today. I went in and ordered fish and chips at just after midday. People coming in after me were served their food. I just sat and waited. After forty minutes, I managed to get an employees attention. He did apologise and offer me a free drink. I said I just wanted my meal. The employee went off to see where it had got to and after another long wait, my meal arrived. It was OK, but not great. I was extremely upset. Offering me a free drink or sweet was not what I wanted and I think it will be a long time before I go in the Jack Fairman again. This is my local and I was going in several times a week to save me cooking and be in a social situation, but the poor service I received today has put me off and was not acceptable. I went in yesterday at a later time ( 2pm ish ) for the curry deal and had a poor meal ( chicken tikka masala). I didn’t say anything and my daughter said I should have sent the meal back I made sure I complained today, but still didn’t really get a satisfactory result.

Good basic menue, good value and goo d friendly service. Large venue good for singels coupke, family and large parties.

Ci siamo fermati a mangiare qui attirati dall’aspetto esteriore del locale; da turisti, ci abbiamo messo un po’ a capire come funzionava e pensavamo di impiegare un eternità per poter ordinare, dato che il locale era strapieno. Invece l’attesa alla cassa per ordinare è stata breve e, una volta comunicato il numero del nostro tavolo, anche le pietanze sono arrivate rapidamente. La prima sera abbiamo ordinato una pizza Margherita e devo dire che non era niente male! L’indomani a pranzo abbiamo ordinato un panino, molto buono anche quello. Personalmente l’ho trovato anche economico.
