Popular pub in Redhill. Has had a minor refurbishment with new toilets and carpets that was well overdue. Usual range of drinks and food. Service always good, but gets busy at times.

My experience at The Sun was awful due to an employee named Diana. As a Black customer, I was consistently skipped in line for white customers who were behind me. When I asked why, she responded with a rude shriek and attitude. Her behavior was openly racist, making the atmosphere unwelcoming. Management should address this immediately no one should be treated this way. I won’t be returning, and I don’t recommend this place to people of color until serious changes are made.

I had the unpleasant experience of spending 17.50 on a rib eye steak. I ordered medium rare and got a thin dry steak. Will be very careful what I eat there in future. Staff couldn't care less parents use it as a switch off zone and let their kids throw tantrums.

Average spoons experience. Has its busy periods but generally OK atmosphere.

Good choice of beers, typical pub grub, Ok for a quick cheap meal. Lots of seating.

One of the best Wetherspoons. Clean, efficient and well run. Beer and food good on several visits on way to/from Gatwick and Kent. Very handy for railway station and plentiful nearby parking.

A success, attracting so many customers, it might profitably expand upstairs, into a quieter, restaurant-vibe space? When over‐packed, I find I turn around at the door. Seems to recently have a big fly problem that can make eating rather unpleasant. A few fly zappers might make it a nicer place? Just as I'm pushing 'send', The table next to me said let's go outside its too noisy in here. As I get older I search for sound deadening spaces to reduce tinitus. Such a space upstairs at The Sun would be great.

Best place for a pleasant ending day. Good food and drink, specially the Guinness beer.

Very good quality. Large portions but expensive.

When ordering a spirit and mixer, at the counter, I specified 'no slice' - but when it was served to me, it had a slice of lemon in it (and ice, which was fine/standard). On reminding the barmaid of my fruit preference, she immediately commenced to remove the ice - taking a good portion of the spirit! Sadly - typical of a badly trained staff.

As per usual, rude bar staff from certain staff. We come and drink regularly in The Sun and enjoy the pub, but recently the staff are just rude - Certain staff and they know they’re rude to the point where they are laughing about and know they’re mannerisms.

Where do I start? Really hot day so thought hum let’s do Wetherspoons in Redhill as was in town and inside the pub was not much cooler. I placed a food and drink order on the app (which if you want steak or a mixed grill fails to log your preference) and had just confirmed the order when a fight occurred. So naturally police attending and get the story whilst I was there helped with keeping things calm. The food arrived about 13 mins later and the meat was over cooked extremely tough to cut and chew. It lacked any flavour whatsoever and was a massive disappointment. The soft drinks I ordered (cordials) were so weak I was thinking I was looking at a replay of a number of the recent England games at the Euros! I had considered a dessert but by that stage I just wanted to get out of there. This pub okay is a Wetherspoons so you know it is cheap meals and drinks but seriously the chef should be able to cook better than that and the bar staff produce a cordial that doesn’t look like lightly flavoured water. The only compliment I will get them is they called the police quickly but apart from that and an apology for slow drink service there is nothing positive about my experience. It was the first time visiting since before the pandemic but I can say that I am definitely making it my last too.

Lovely Wetherspoons, absolutely spotless, clean and tidy, very nice staff, food is great we had 2 breakfast wraps, teas, coffees, and a pint, all throughly enjoyed highly recommended!

Standard weatherspoons experience, good for a cheap pint and food is ok.

Fancied a late morning beer, which actually turned out to be two pints. First was Corona on draught. And then a Leffe. Could’ve happily stayed for more as the rain continued to fall outside.

Love coming hear every 3 weeks.

Good for a cheap meal and drinks

It was quiet, staff were friendly. Food was lovely and out quickly too. Would recommend and go back again.

Went here to meet up with a friend. We were there between 12pm - 6pm. We used the app to order our drinks and food and we received our orders quickly and the food was nice and hot and very tasty. We felt no pressure to leave at all and the pub was packed the whole time we were there. Though at no time did it feel cramped or claustrophobic. We had a nice table on the elevated seating area and found it comfortable and clean. The staff are lovely, they were polite and helpful. The quality of the food and drinks is very good and so reasonably priced for such troubled times when it feels like everything is so much more expensive than it ever used to be. Factoring this it's no wonder Wetherspoon pubs in general are so popular and busy and long may that continue. I'll be going back there for sure.

We enjoyed a lot with good food, quick service and friendly staff. Fish and chips and double cheeseburger were very delicious, we drunk Guinness and Abbott with them and loved it! ❤️

A dump,known as the worse weatherspoons pub in the south of england,tend to agree...Always running out of certain beers,staff ain't got a clue how to replace...

Amazing weather spoons loved it .And the toilets are on the same level. Had no food in their that's why no stars are given

Service remains a big problem here. Yesterday, only two junior/inexperienced barmaids were trying to serve the many waiting customers - c5pm: Again I left.

Came from Ireland over to my family, they wanted to treat me to breakfast, met by member of staff with no expression cut us off at every question asked and no eye contact, we felt so uncomfortable we had to leave before buying anything would not recommend.

I found this a place of solace. People accept you for who you are and there is no judgment. In my few weeks in the area I have been going in nearly every day. A lot of children, disabled people and rowdy locals. I can be a bit moody myself. And there is 0 judgment from anyone. I got into some lovely conversations and the colourful people of Redhill can be surprisingly friendly. Don't expect it to be quiet unless you're there for an early breakfast which is delicious btw. Nothing quite like a weatherspoons the wild card beer is possibly the best beer ever!!

Great staff, very attentive and the place is always run smoothly and kept clean no matter how few or many people there are. They are very appreciative of people's different needs.

Every time problems, beer after 22.30 do not sell, just informed we start cleaning but bar working untill 00.00 pm

Annual work reunion. Large bar and eating area.Prompt friendly service and non crowded tables. Upper area for more private events. Good value and tasty food. Good airy atmosphere and better than some other Wetherspoons. Clean well maintained toilets. Look forward to next time

Very busy noisy pub. But I guess you would expect that from a Witherspoon's. In this Spoon, the food was excellently cooked, and not too long to wait, Staff was very busy and quick to clear tables. We have dined in this particular Spoon several times and always been happy.

We've been spending several nights in the travelodge opposite over the 2 last months and the sun has been our haunt. Great fish and chips and curries. All i all the food is good even if not homemade. The staff look a bit harassed sometimes, and got a few things wrong. But overall it was a good experience. With family and kids or just as a couple. My husband also enjoyed it solo. It helped keep the cost of travelling down.

Well conditioned Abbot ale, good food, quick and pleasant service. Everything that you hope for in a well managed Wetherspoons.

Breakfast has badly gone downhill. Second time foods arrived and it's cold and not cooked properly! The egg was lime jelly, mushrooms still white and hard, raw cold tomatoes, cold beans, soggy vegan sausages (not cooked properly) and bacon that was cold and not cooked, was more like ham. Informed staff, no apology, didn't even seem shocked so obviously they're used to it. The only decent thing was the hash browns and toast! Will be finding somewhere else to have breakfast now. They also don't bring you new food they leave you sitting there waiting and when they bring it back after reminding them 3 times it's exactly the same! Bad attitude as well from staff. Won't be back for breakfast that's for sure. I definitely think there's a new chef, either that or someone cba.

Large Whetherspoon pub in Redhill town centre. Been meeting friends here for years and always serves it's purpose with great value drinks. The interior has a fairly traditional pub feel. The toilets have recently been refurbished and is a massive improvement.

Although it was packed we ordered on the app and drinks came within 5 minutes...and food in around 10 minutes. And a big shout out to the young staff who were efficient and courteous. As always meals are basic, but well cooked and actually affordable...unlike most pubs and restaurants now,

This place was so amazing! My kids loved the food, and i had the gammon egg and chips, which was so good! I would definitely come back here, so i recommend you try out this restaurant amazing food

We are from abroad we arrived at 8.50 p.m. We found a dirty table and the manager came and invited us to clean it. She waited until 9pm when weve aleeady settled in to tell us that we have to leave as we have a baby, instead of telling us immediatly when we came in. The service is poor

Ok after reading previous reviews on miserable staff I can understand as of the cheap drinks prices and the standard of clientele We always stay in Travelodge opposite when flying from LGW which it our fourth time and never had an issue with the staff although looking at the clientele as stated I can see why We arrived at 1pm for a quick drink a pint of Stella and a large Pino £7.60 what value then came back at 19.30 for another drink and food Several sad faces were still drinking some SIX hours later The curries ok Break Brothers frozen ping meals like most budget chain pubs but trust me excellent value and very enjoyable No we’ve eaten in high end restaurants and paid hundreds for over priced wine and stupidly small portions but for a gut buster and cheap drinks you can’t beat a good Witherspoons Happy days to the Sun Redhill and to the smiling staff 👍

Value for money food which is hot, quickly, and freshly cooked. Cut price drinks as you'd expect, and the all day tea, and coffee is brilliant.

Nice food, drinks and staff but the interior is not nice! They have done the toilets really lovely but the inside of the pub is very dingy and outdated, I wish they redid the whole interior.

Used mainly for breakfast. Even at 09:00 various Redhill characters are in for their first pint of the day. Also mothers with babies in for coffee. Interesting mix.

5 quid for a.large Vila Maria wine . Everywhere else it's 3 times that. People are Redhill people and its ok. My only complain is the smell of cigarette from 1980 .

I've been visiting spoons to play Yu-Gi-Oh on my phone for the last few months due to their refillable coffee being an easy way to stay warm, plus it's price at £1.50 is ideal. I woule not say that the Sun is an ideal spot to lounge for 2.5 hours, but my watch would say different once I finally check it. The layout of the spoons itself is mediocre, as my problem is finding a table that's suitable for my visit. I ideally would sit on the right side of the pub as it's close to the coffee machine, but these seats aren't always available. I find the seats on the left side have less footfall and are more comfortable , but you need to walk a good 15-20 seconds to get to the machine. There's no second floor or beer garden so everyone is mixed together, which isn't too bad but there aren't any quieter areas of the pub which are more "restaurant" feeling. Serving time is usually 2 minutes for a drink that's ordered to your table or 7 minutes for food which is fast compared to other spoons I have visited. I have found that there are less people on average eating at The Sun than at other spoons, but I would not say that the quality of the food is lacking in any way. There are currently renovations going on inside which has made the bar a little noisier during the quieter hours, but it's understandable.

A nice town centre pub within walking distance to train station. Mostly crowded due to its popularity for tasty food , range of drinks and most importantly fair prices..

Typical spoons; cheap drinks and a dire clientele.

Was served at the till by Abbie, who was very rude and unprofessional, people like her shouldn’t be allowed to serve customers as she didn’t do our order right and didn’t even apologise for her mistake. This is not the first time this happened in Redhill Wetherspoon as very moody and rude staff and never seen them smiling. Will never be back here

Staff are simply unable to serve people in turn - regulars are often selected for service before others, waiting longer. The new toilets (gents anyway) are excellent - and are the best pub facilities in the area, by some margin. Water is poured by sensors!

Good place. Feeling of Wetherspoons so if u like any other Wetherspoons, you may like this. It does have its own menu and standard choices. Everything is being done on the app or at the counter.

This place is going down hill and fast! Food is ok but can tell its all be preheated, last time we was in there was a fight and before that the local crack head was in and out trying to score a deal!

4 out of 5 stars I didn't witness a fight in it when I was there. I missed out on dinner and a show! In all seriousness, food was okay, service was okay, drinks are cheap. What more could you want from a spoons?

Food was a little bit below average. The meat was overcooked. I can't blame it on that price tag. Can't see many young people there , many 45+ age groups there.

Ok so it might not be the best atmosphere and you might feel you are in an audience with Jeremy Kyle but if you want a very cheap night out and decent beers and drinks then this is for you. Alternatively you can pay 3 times the price elsewhere.

The Sun is a large Wetherspoons opposite Sainsbury's in Redhill. Decent prices, plenty of tables, helpful staff keep the place clean and tidy. Does the job.

As per usual with a Spoons, fine dining it's not.. However the food was hot, tasty and quickly served. The beer was fresh and cold. What more do you want from a Spoons?

Ordered the shwarma chicken wrap and soup....great for a quick snack and tasty. Portion could have been a little larger though. Was quite busy when we got there about 1pm. Food and drinks came very quickly. Would recommend.

Best freehouse bar I've been to, friendly staff, excellent food and relatively inexpensive drinks, and chill out feel make it a one of the best hangouts in Redhill..there are multiple offers on drinks and food through the year. Will miss it.

Sometimes Hit and Miss depending on what time and day that you visit Locals can be vocal and language can be loud and. choice at times But that's what happens when there's limited choices available.. Overall with the current management it's not a bad place to visit With it being a Wetherspoons it's affordable food and drink wise. Worth a visit and make up your own mind..
