The Mint in Reigate and Banstead

Very disappointed. We were a little late because the road was closed and we had to go a long way to get there, the lady behind the bar was not happy with us even after we apologised. The price of each of our meals was £18 so you expect a good standard. The fish in the fish and chips was very small and overcooked and the peas were barely warm. The fish pie had one king prawn in it and was served with 8 green beans and 2 halves of carrot. The aubergine gratin was burnt and when I asked for another one the waitress said it was supposed to look like that, but when I pointed out that its possible to cook it without burning it she took it away. All in all, it wasn't a nice experience and we certainly won't be going back.

Have always liked the mint and on this evening on 26th 7.30pm it was excellent. All of the staff were brilliant but 2 in particular were so helpful and polite Ewan & Jimmy were really quick with there table and all of the courses served to the 4 of us were off the scale simply beautiful.

Rip off They do a set price menu for lunch that wasnt presented. Only the inflated price menu's were being given out. The set price was given to customers if they asked for it. We had a two course lunch I asked if I presented a discount voucher and was charged the prices from the inflated menu. Less the discount which was more expensive than the set menu price. After complaining I was told to read the small print. Surely the staff if fully trained (and have read the small print)should advise customers of the best deals. The only bitter the had on tap was Doombar.

Service is very slow and confusing, we went on a slow Saturday evening for a cosy pub dinner to celebrate our anniversary, after waiting over 40 minutes for someone to serve our table I ended up going to the bar to order food, we couldn't work out why the other 3 tables in our area got attentive table service and our table had to order from the bar? Nothing was said on our arrival. when the food finally arrived it seemed very overpriced for what it was, none of the other tables in our area seemed to be having a good meal either, between mixed up orders and long waits to one table having to produce ID half way through their dinner because the staff suddenly decided they needed to prove their age? The only saving grace was the desert that was beautiful and delicious but again had the wait ages for them to be served! We won't be going back.

Love the mint. Has a nice atmosphere and tasty food. Was served by Ewan today. The place was busy and the staff were having to work extra hard as a result. We had great tasting food. The fish and chips portion was big and tasty. I had the beef lunch sandwich which was also really enjoyable. Best advice is to book ahead as we saw a few walk in folks having to miss out due to the place being full.

We had a very nice meal. Had heard bad things about this place, but they proved to be untrue. Very nice wine list as well

An unexpected surprise! We all loved our Sunday Roast. Our youngest had a burger mains and said it was delicious.

Would just like to say It was a absolute pleasure visiting the MINT this afternoon, it was my first visit here, and straight away i felt at ease with a nice/friendly welcome from Sam, who is a definite asset to this lovely establishment, the food and portion size was spot on, And also there was another lovely member of staff who was very friendly and attentive by the name of Anna, I was very pleased with the whole experience, and will definitely be returning in a few weeks time, And it was also great talking to a couple of locals aswell, Once again a huge thankyou For making my afternoon special See you soon Best wishes Also a massive thankyou to ewan on my second visit A great asset to team mint With a nice calm and pleasant attitude, Keep up the great work 👍🏼

Fabulous staff. Lovely atmosphere. A real gem of a pub for a relaxing and cosy evening. Lyra and Emma were charming and attentive, and Mark the chef cooked the best steak I've EVER had. If I could give 6 stars I would. Thank you all. See you soon 👍

Have always enjoyed coming here for Sunday lunches. But have recently also enjoyed a dinner service. The food choice is excellent with so much variety and amazing dishes on the menu. Shout out to Ewan for great service also!

Would not recommend there mango and passionfruit pavlova It's a pink moraine with a large amount of caned cream and 2 pieces of mango at a cost of £8.95p

After a very poor experience at a nearby pub (which shall not be named), we made a late entry to here and had the warmest welcome. The atmosphere was lovely, the drinks were great and the staff are just so lovely. As non-locals, it was so refreshing to experience such lovely customer service. Will be back!

The venue was hired for my son in laws 40th birthday. The room containing a bar was excellently run by Tanya and her two helpers who were really helpful throughout the evening. A great time had by all and would recommend this venue to anyone contemplating a party

Tonight’s visit was our fifth over the last two weeks. We’ve had dinner three times. Took our son at the weekend and our daughter this evening. As always the food was delicious. We had steak and lamb this time. And the staff were 5-star. Definitely our favourite pub and we’ll be back soon.

Have been visiting the Mint for over 30 years, today Friday the 23rd We had lunch could not find fault, really nice tasting food , my wife remarked we have never had a bad meal at the Mint. The waitress very helpful great asset to the company. Recommended Brian founder A3 Appliances.

Went here with my daughter a couple of weeks ago. Both had fillet steak. Initially my chips were very over cooked and rock hard. This was sorted quickly, my steak was fine but my daughter's was very fatty and chewy, spoke to waitress to let her know. She said she'd let the supplier know!?? But didn't adjust the bill, about half the steak was uneatable. Very overpriced

Had the Sunday Roast and the quality of the food was excellent. All staff are very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Ewan served us and made us feel very at home. Only slight negative was our table was a little bit in a walkway so if you book, ask not to be put on table 30.

We enjoyed our Saturday lunch at The Mint having booked a table by phone as the on- line system said there was none available. The staff were welcoming, our server was Euan who was friendly, efficient and hardworking. My friend had the Prawn Skewer and I the Halloumi one. Both were attractively served with their side dishes and both were much enjoyed. 😊. To follow we had mini desserts with coffee which were just right after eating our Mains. When you fancy a small sweet treat the mini ones with coffee are excellent. Surprisingly the restaurant was only half full but maybe Saturday lunchtime is not a popular time.

A little impromptu dinner with a pal as we only were going for a couple of beers tbh. Friendly staff as always and we had a great meal, especially Anna who looked after us. Menu is varied so there is something for everyone and it’s pretty reasonable from a price perspective too. Well worth a visit

I went with my elderly mother who is visually impaired and was sat in good lighting as requested in the booking. The service once seated by Abigail and Anna was excellent.

Didn't get off to the best start as the table we were shown to had ants running on top of the table and on the floor underneath. Quickly shown to another table then waited 20mins for our drinks order to be taken. We then had a long wait, 45mins, to receive our food. When it came it was nice and tasty. Didn't have to wait for too long for the puddings but the crumble should have come with a warning, it was boiling hot. Overall it was a shame we had to wait so long for the food, but the waitresses served with a smile on their faces.

Food was amazing and the biscoff iced latte is refreshing. Staff are very kind and welcoming <3

Had the prawn skewers, but realised half way through that they weren’t deveined. I told the waitress (who clearly didn’t know what I meant) & she spoke to the chef. His response was “that’s how we serve them here” 🤢. The waitress then went on to say that she had eaten in lots of London restaurants & that’s how they’re always served … erm … I beg to differ !!

Lovely pub with delicious, beautifully served fresh food. Homely yet elegant atmosphere and kind service. The food took a bit too long. It will be 5 stars if food was served quicker, especially for children.

Came here for the very first time yesterday evening. We had an awesome time dining with friends. I must say, this lovely 'old' pub was beautiful in every way, even the toilets were very clean and very well decorated. Most importantly though was the dining. The food was first class, from starters to desserts. The lovely staff are just so attentive and very polite. Most definitely will be returning here for more great food and awesome service. First time at the Mint. Staff very good. Muddy boots and paws welcome. Food excellent and they have Doombar on tap, so perfect for me. We had the Sea Bass, which was wonderful. We will be back.

Tasty food. Really like the selection of cocktails and non alcoholic beverages. Service could be better but I appreciate that I visited on a busy Sunday.

We went for a lovely lunch here today for a family birthday. The food was great and Anna was friendly and attentive. We'll be coming back!

Very slow service. Twomanypeople and very few staff on a BH Monday. We were there 2 and 3/4 hours just having a main course and coffee. We were then asked if we could vacate the table as they were expecting people in for that table whilst we were mid coffee. The girls were very friendly and helpful, but just overwhelmed by volume of customers. My meal was very tasty, but my friend had the fishcakes which were bery dry and had very little fish in them. Will not be back again. Also expensive for what it was.

We had a really enjoyable family meal here this evening. The service was perfect and we were guided through the menu and looked after very well by our main server Anna! A highlight was the pavlova, which looked and tasted delicious. Nice decor inside and plenty of parking.

I was taken to The Mint for dinner for a first date and it was absolutely amazing, I had the best mac and cheese I’ve ever had!! Our amazing server Alice was warm and welcoming and recommended me a pornstar martini and made it to perfection! Thank you so much I will definitely be returning!!

My dad came here with his friend for lunch the other week and loved it! He had the pork belly which he was very impressed with and was served by Alice and another young lady who he said were wonderfully helpful and really made the experience! He will definitely be back. Sadly he is not techy enough to leave a review himself but asked me to do it for him :)

Good overall service a bit patchy ranges from very good (Emma) and a younger man (no badge) on bar who was friendly and welcoming to a rather officious woman (no badge) on check in / bar who seems to like looking for / creating issues and talking loudly to other staff about customers she had just had a call with!!!! Big fuss about finding a table for some elderly customs who just wanted drinks, at least 5 tables empty! Perhaps she was having a bad day…. Great:- Food much improved since last visited pre pandemic: burgers a coupe of weeks ago as a walk in on a Saturday excellent and Roast Trio which was tasty and well presented, although the individual meat portions were sadly modest / small this week, but loads of Vegetables etc, cauliflower cheese side superb, desserts very good, some interesting non standard options too. We liked it… Good wine, beer and drinks selection. Very dog friendly…. Will go back ….recommended….
