Great pub. First visit. Lovely staff. Enjoyed the beer garden and views across the green and cricket pitch.

Food service closed so we couldn't order. It was after 3pm while previously placed orders were being served. I thought maybe there will be some flexibility but had to move to other pub for drinks and food. Because it was a a sunny day, it was quite full and with cricket ground nearby seats outside are a challenge

Ok, so I visited on a Tuesday Afternoon. Didn't expect it to be buzzing, but also didn't expect it to be dead. There was no one in there and no staff to be seen. I waited a minute and someone came from upstairs. No apology for keeping me waiting but pleasant enough otherwise. Beer was fine and the pub itself nice and clean with interesting architectural features. The next guy that came in waited about 5 minutes to get served, despite calling Hello a couple of times. There was constant movement upstairs and at least four people up there. LANDLORD - consider if it is worth opening at 12 on a weekday, you are wasting money on staff and it's not a great advertisement for your pub to have no staff in the bar area. I could probably have poured my second pint myself. It would be a shame to see another pub close down.

The worst pub in Reigate by far. Owners have lost interest. Great if you’re under age.

The only GREAT person working here is JAKE, the management are Total Rubbish, no smile, no nothing, just snatch your money THEY ARE NOT PUB PEOPLE....to put it politely. The management are on a wage ...SEND THEM BACK TO WHERE THEY CAME FROM. - FACT - HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT and they don't give a Toss, prams in the Pub, a kiddies party 6-9 months ago at 6pm when I was there, what a joke !! ...Chairs that are broken, Toilets need a Full overhaul and clean and it goes on .... Whereas Jake is polite and brilliant in sorting all out that he can, always working hard behind the Bar If I had a Pub he would be the Manager, by the way I used to run a successful pub until I retired 10 years ago !. He should be the Manager. NB. I have no affiliation with Jake at all, I'm just a customer. 5 stars to Jake and None to the rest.

Faboulous food , beers and atmosphere Friendly staff and they welcome our dogs, pleasant seating and dining areas that add to the ambience of the location

Nice quiet little pub with decent pub garden, nice view out over the cricket pitch out the back and plenty of booths with heat lamps. Lacking vegan options though.

I was taken here by my English family for a drink while touring the town of Reigate. The pub was beautiful and everything you would imagine an English pub to look like. The outside of the pub is deceiving, as it looks quite small. As you enter the building, you immediately notice the massive open outdoor seating area that backs up to the Cricket club. It was amazing! The bartender was friendly and did a very nice job! We spent about an hour and a half just sitting by the back wall overlooking the cricket grounds, while taking in the sunshine! It is a beautiful location and well worth a visit! It was my first time in Reigate (from Florida), and I definitely will return! The entire town is stunning and well worth the effort to go visit.

Food was bland, staff not friendly. It was a monday so that may explain it. Needless to say won't be visiting establishment again. A smile and a greeting makes hell of a difference.

Nice relaxed atmosphere and great beers

Super busy early on a sunny Saturday afternoon but still able to get a table outside. Service was quick and drinks were cold 👌

Good food, good service and impeccable pub garden, toilets included with a couple indoor TVs to watch the footy, f1, rugby etc etc. If you’re visiting Reigate this is a nice pub near the town centre and the park for easy access to parking.

Decent prices for Reigate, seems to very popular with young people; being one myself, it’s definitely my kind of atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and I absolutely adored the courtyard

Can look like a festival at times, literally everyone who is young (18-25) goes here for a night out. Shame last drinks at 22:30, this is the time we usually head to the cage or the Bell up the road.

They have good variety of beers and also a beautiful garden with a beautiful view, I really love this place!

Nice locals bar with friendly people. Backs onto the cricket and football ground with amazing wide views. The local Pilgrim brewery (literally a few doors down) was on tap and made the start of our afternoon. Black Country pork scratchings were a nice touch for bar snacks. 4 stars as food timings could be a bit better, as could of done with a small portion of chips or similar. However an excellent old time but lovely pub and if I'm back In the area I shall return.

We came here for a family lunch recently and was appalled by the service. When we arrived and ordered food there was virtually no one in the pub. The food took 45 mins to arrive (we had to chase) bearing in mind we all ordered the either one of two dishes so not a big variety in the order. Also one of the dishes was essentially a cheese and ham toastie with chips! Food was also very average. Our plates then sat on the table for the remainder of the time we were there. It’s seems like it is a bunch of teenagers are just having a social behind the bar and show no attentiveness to the customers at all. Won’t be coming back or recommending to others

Friendly staff, they were dog friendly too! And the food was pretty good too. Food took quite a while though.

OK, food was wholesome, freshly cooked, good beer but its a bit soleless and loud tv plays pop videos which I find distracting.

Such a lovely spot, service was dreadful. Waited over half an hour to get served at a table, even with specifically asking for service on 2 occasions. Seemed understaffed for a sunny Friday night.

Fantastic food, best calamari starter I have had in years. Rest of the food was also above average. Nice protected vooths for cold or windy weather and good service. Some splendid walks in the area around the pub.

To the manager running the pub on Friday evening. Please remember that some of us are unable to wear masks for medical reasons. A welcoming smile is customary, yet despite wearing a lanyard, signing your book and following social distancing, you gave me such a look of disapproval and revulsion. I will take my business elsewhere in future. Your loss!

Pub that has booths with heaters so you can sit outside which is great. The prices are okay and the food is poor however this is thoroughly redeemed when Bruno Fernandes delivers your order.

This place is in a really nice spot. It overlooks the cricket ground to the back and the beer garden is great on a Summer’s day and nicely laid out. I’ve only had a drink here so can’t comment on the food. I’m not sure about the staff, been a couple of times and they seem a bit disinterested. The inside isn’t as welcoming as the outside. There’s better/nicer pubs in Reigate.

COVID procedures followed very well, QR code on entry, sanitiser & log book for names etc, tables well spaced & plenty of outdoor seating including booths with heaters! Friendly staff, good choice of draught lagers etc & good value. Decent menu all freshly cooked, halloumi fries were amazing. Hidden gem just on the outskirts of town, well worth a visit 👍👍

One word for the bloke at the door... bell*nd Absolute joke of a service. The bloke complains when you order a pint like it’s not his job. Ordering a round he said we can’t order straight away as it would take 20 mins? Mate it’s your job pipe down. Beer tastes awful, said it’s busy and there’s no one here. No no no....maybe is a nice place when the weather is good and you can go out to the garden.But my experience wasn't good,the lady who came to take the order didn't know the menu,she asked from us to pay strait when we ordered and then came back after 5min to tell us that they didn't have our food.Then she didn't know what beers they have and we couldn't go and check at the bar because not allowed(covid). No good experience.

There was nothing available, no fish and chips, no burgers (a part from the beef one) and the waitress was quite rude to be honest. She also didn’t know anything about the menu, nothing about wine and we can accept this if we find out that she’s new at the pub, but the behaviour and the expression on her face was unacceptable. She was just rude. Anyway, I ordered the first beer, I asked for a lager and she said “we have Heineken”. Ok. It wasn’t available. “I’ll have a pint of something else, just bring me a lager please” and I received a 330ml beer in a bottle for something around £5 and a small and tight glass. My friend didn’t even receive a glass. The chips tasted fish, probably because of the oil used... the bacon in my burger reminded me the cheep one you buy for £0.99 in the supermarket. Just a nightmare. Pubs in England are normally so good, we’ll go somewhere else for sure, but not here. Not again. Sorry for the bad review, I know the hard work that there is behind all the organisation, but I had to do it.

Excellent. Moved here after poor service by new management at The Bell. Love it.

Very good beer garden. Normally had a good selection of beers but this appears limited due to covid.

Never been to the Blue Anchor before and the staff were great and so was the bear garden at the back. Wish I'd found it before.

We came here after the Kingswood arms as the lady there was very rude. I love coming to blue anchor as you can always be sure that staff is more than welcoming, my ridgeback was treated like a king 🥰 the food is always amazing, but especially I love winter menu. It’s very comfy there as they have a lot of space under umbrellas so you don’t have to experience all 36C while eating and also very cosy in the winter inside 🥰 really recommend the place 💖

Came into the Blue Anchor a few days ago for a few quick drinks with some friends and ended up staying for a few hours. The garden has a lovely view onto the cricket pitch unfortunately there wasn’t a game on but enjoyed the view anyway. Service was quick and the staff were very friendly.

Lovely food. Service was terrible! Waited over an hour for my food others were getting served before us after mentioning this to the manager he did not do anything didn’t apologise then after talking back decided to blame us for ordering separately. We than began to eat ahich my sandwich came burnt and the manager sat on the other table looking over and speaking about us because we complained made us feel so awkward to the point we wanted to leave.

Came here for some lunch with my girlfriend and a couple friends, absolutely shocking in all honesty. Ordered 2x fish and chips, a portion of chips and some halloumi. Halloumi was good to be fair, but the chips were practically uncooked and the fish was dreadful. No batter on the bottom of it and honestly closer to the size of a fish finger as opposed to what you’d expect. Very soggy, covered in grease, it was like eating cardboard. This place is good in the summer for a drink but i’ll never get food from here again. If you want good food, I suggest The Market Stores. Don’t waste your time or money here

Bangers and mash, lovely! Close to work, so nice for a relaxed lunch/quick drink after work. And much less noisy than crowded pubs in town, so you can have a proper conversation 😊

Price changes every time you go the bar and keep an eye on them as they pour short measures. Was a good bar now looks like they scrambling for every penny

Came here for lunch. Arrived at 12.30. An hour 5 mins later had not received dinner. We ordered very simple dishes. We left having no food. I'm pregnant and I was with my 3 year old son who was really upset. We ordered two sandwiches and a pasta. Will not be returning. Its a shame because we have visited on other occasions. We did have this trouble one time before but the pub was a lot busier. Today it was dead so no excuse for the bad service. Apparently the reason was that they had a new chef who hadn't been trained. Bad planning esp on such a lovely day. Also they didn't communicate this news until we left asking why the food had taken so long.

We popped in last week as newbies, welcoming face behind the bar. We enjoyed a drink in the garden overlooking the cricket pitch, will return for food another time but seems a lovely venue.

Much improved in every respect. Food, beer and service quality - are top class. Finest beer garden in East Surrey, overlooking the cricket grounds. TV sports attract many - and there's a good atmosphere.

Popped in on a Sunday afternoon for a quick bite with friends and the kids. Was quiet mid afternoon. Cozy pub atmosphere, staff seem friendly, food just OK (pie of the day, roast dinner, kids pasta - onions w a bit of tomato). Wasn't a hit with us and overall experience was less positive than we need. Our family won't be visiting again anytime soon.

A group of us ate here and most were very disappointed with their meals. Staff seemed disinterested and the food was uninspiring and stodgy. Wouldn't eat here again.

Had a frustrating hour and a half to kill... so stopped in for a glass of wine and cheesy chips! Staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and even gave me a free mince pie. How nice is that?! Lovely pub. Warm fire for the winter, and atmospheric terrace in the summer. My go to pub.
