This pub in Reigate is a must-visit for beer and meat lovers alike. With a laid-back, rustic vibe, it’s the perfect spot for anyone looking to unwind with a hearty meal and a cold pint. The beer selection is extensive, covering everything from local craft brews to well-known favorites, ensuring there’s something for every taste. The food menu is refreshingly straightforward, focused on expertly crafted burgers and perfectly cooked steaks. The burgers are juicy, stacked high with fresh ingredients, and packed with flavor, while the steaks are tender and cooked to perfection. With friendly service and a lively atmosphere, this pub is a great go-to for a no-fuss, delicious meal with friends.

KIDDIES BAR ...MANY UNDERAGED FOR SURE, DIRTY TOILETS ! I was there recently and it was full to the brim with underaged drinkers, one I overheard was celebration her 15th Birthday and drinking alcohol .....so bad is it last Thursday 12/9/24 they had 2 security men there, so it was virtually empty, The Kids mostly went to the Red Cross Pub nearby, which I am told is run by the same people and was full after they all got in !!! The Kids have been coming here for years, what a Joke. The Local licencing authority need to be told.

Solely directed towards the chef whose service is appalling. Me and my friend got some drinks then spent over 45 minutes waiting for some chips while he was inside playing games and doing anything but his job basically. For context, it was pretty empty, we were the only people who had even ordered food. We didn’t fancy a massive meal, just wanted a bit of food to go with our drinks and the few scoops of ice cream included on the menu for the kids meal. After 45+ minutes we get the food without the ice cream, not a massive deal but when we ask for it the chef sends the server (who was an absolute sweetheart) out to communicate his blatant refusal to give us part of the meal we paid for. Apparently we couldn’t have the scoops of ice cream because we were not children lol and they needed to save the ice cream for children, even though the other part of the meal was acceptable and there were no children in the pub so clearly the ice cream wasn’t in high demand (I’ve never even seen children in that pub?) And baring in mind we’ve already paid and they neglected to say we “couldn’t” have a kids portion while they were taking our money. Funny how that works. Maybe say that before you’ve taken the money or put it on ur menu? Servers were lovely but chef (m) clearly doesn’t give a toss and doesn’t do his job. It wasn’t busy, play games or whatever in ur own time not when u have one food order in a near empty pub. A few chips shouldn’t take near to an hour. Then the audacity to not give us the ice cream part of the meal. Lord give me strength - can’t a girl just get her ice cream she paid for like?

We came here for some light food and drinks. My friend and I, both in our twenties, were not looking for a big meal so ordered two kids meals. The lovely staff, Taf particularly, were incredibly kind. However, the chef, Marius, refused to give us our paid for meal because adults “aren’t allowed kids meals”. Although after some disagreement we did get given our food, it then took 40 minutes to arrive. Whilst this is understandable, this was not said when paying or on the menu. We spent enough money on other drinks and sides for the establishment to know we were not rinsing them for cheap food but rather didn’t want a big meal. We paid for a service that we did not receive or were promised. Taf was wonderful and very helpful however the same words cannot be spoken for the chef. Truly disappointing. The blue anchor is lucky to have Taf, as without her we would be far more upset.

Normally my reviews don’t include names of the staff, but Katie has blown me away with her service. She is such a professional and really knows her stuff, best bartender there by far. She is attentive and pays heed to even the smallest of details and customer service such as this is highly appreciated. Will be returning in the future!

Ok, so I visited on a Tuesday Afternoon. Didn't expect it to be buzzing, but also didn't expect it to be dead. There was no one in there and no staff to be seen. I waited a minute and someone came from upstairs. No apology for keeping me waiting but pleasant enough otherwise. Beer was fine and the pub itself nice and clean with interesting architectural features. The next guy that came in waited about 5 minutes to get served, despite calling Hello a couple of times. There was constant movement upstairs and at least four people up there. LANDLORD - consider if it is worth opening at 12 on a weekday, you are wasting money on staff and it's not a great advertisement for your pub to have no staff in the bar area. I could probably have poured my second pint myself. It would be a shame to see another pub close down.

I was taken here by my English family for a drink while touring the town of Reigate. The pub was beautiful and everything you would imagine an English pub to look like. The outside of the pub is deceiving, as it looks quite small. As you enter the building, you immediately notice the massive open outdoor seating area that backs up to the Cricket club. It was amazing! The bartender was friendly and did a very nice job! We spent about an hour and a half just sitting by the back wall overlooking the cricket grounds, while taking in the sunshine! It is a beautiful location and well worth a visit! It was my first time in Reigate (from Florida), and I definitely will return! The entire town is stunning and well worth the effort to go visit.

The local Pilgrim brewery (literally a few doors down) was on tap and made the start of our afternoon. The food took 45 mins to arrive (we had to chase) bearing in mind we all ordered the either one of two dishes so not a big variety in the order. Also one of the dishes was essentially a cheese and ham toastie with chips! Food was also very average. Our plates then sat on the table for the remainder of the time we were there. It’s seems like it is a bunch of teenagers are just having a social behind the bar and show no attentiveness to the customers at all. Won’t be coming back or recommending to others

It was just the worst experience in a pub. First of all it was Friday and after a long day we wanted to spend a good time in front of few drinks but we also wanted to have dinner. So we booked a table for 6 and they said “the kitchen is open ‘till 9:30pm’. However, at 8pm the kitchen was closing and the waitress was rushing to take our orders. There was nothing available, no fish and chips, no burgers (a part from the beef one) and the waitress was quite rude to be honest. She also didn’t know anything about the menu, nothing about wine and we can accept this if we find out that she’s new at the pub, but the behaviour and the expression on her face was unacceptable. She was just rude. Anyway, I ordered the first beer, I asked for a lager and she said “we have Heineken”. Ok. It wasn’t available. “I’ll have a pint of something else, just bring me a lager please” and I received a 330ml beer in a bottle for something around £5 and a small and tight glass. My friend didn’t even receive a glass. The chips tasted fish, probably because of the oil used... I didn’t like the bacon but the burger was good. Just a nightmare. Pubs in England are normally so good, we’ll go somewhere else for sure, but not here. Not again. Sorry for the bad review, I know the hard work that there is behind all the organization, but I had to do it.

Halloumi was good to be fair, but the chips were practically uncooked and the fish was dreadful. No batter on the bottom of it and honestly closer to the size of a fish finger as opposed to what you’d expect. Very soggy, covered in grease, it was like eating cardboard. I'm pregnant and I was with my 3 year old son who was really upset. We ordered two sandwiches and a pasta. Will not be returning. Its a shame because we have visited on other occasions. We did have this trouble one time before but the pub was a lot busier. Today it was dead so no excuse for the bad service. Apparently the reason was that they had a new chef who hadn't been trained. Bad planning esp on such a lovely day. Also they didn't communicate this news until we left asking why the food had taken so long.

The hospitality was warm and welcoming and we felt like appreciated guests. The server built a natural rapport and was attentive. He was polite and genuinely friendly throughout, which greatly added to the experience.
