Great bagels, not the best cappuccino, but staff not welcoming.

I had a very lovely panini here, excellent service as well. There isn’t a customer toilet though, would highly recommend though. They also offer take away service.

Urban Kitchen is the best place to have your morning breakfast and lunch around the Reigate area .All the staff working there are incredibly friendly. Hannah’s customer service can only be describe as super excellence. She is highly experience in dealing with customer queries or issues. Since I was recommended crispy chicken wraps by her, as one of the their best menu, I have never been disappointed. I have to commend Anah ( the manager) for making the restaurant environment absolutely neat and the atmosphere absolutely super friendly.

Just popped in for my first UK Wrapp and coffee having been told great things by colleagues. The Ven (spicy Chicken Wrap) and a Cappuccino. The most delicious wrap I have had in a long time, Generous fillings, Toasted perfectly, Wrapped and presented well. Great tasting well made coffee and all served by very polite staff. Needless to say.... ill be back.

Terrible management , only cares about the profit. This place used to be a pleasure to go and have my lunch in with the best bagel maker in Surrey but since she has gone i will not be returning

So I've waited a couple days to put this review up as I really had to format how I to describe my own and my best friend's gratitude for your customer service. My best friend had suffered a gal stone attack the night before and after surviving most of the day without food she and I (out of friendship hadn't eaten either) had hit a wall . We ran round looking for jacket potato's and were guided by your staff (very kindly might I add) to morrisons cafe which we recoiled from due to the 30 minute wait. Only to find ourselves an hour later back at your doorstep ordering a full fat lunch with much concern. However ALL of you not only helped make the meal almost entirely fat free but for the sake of me? Almost dairy free to! We devoured this food with much delight and hunger that even when we left we found ourselves circling back ready to get another bite! Your stores generosity really did make our day and beyond just serving us good food? You made us feel normal and included.

Great place to get a coffee lovely staff so polite and make you feel very welcome. Sit outside and take in the town of Reigate.

Had a Doctors Order fresh juice and decaff coffee which were both very good. Only give reward stamps for hot drinks purchased which seems a bit mean.

Love this place because I can get a fresh juice which are always delicious. Only complaint is often I’ve come and they have either been closed or not serving juices.

There is nothing remotely "urban" about Reigate, not figuratively and not literally. But do not let the name of this little treasure full you. This place is definitely worth a visit. The staff are friendly and helpful, the prices are reasonable and the food is great. I had the breakfast burrito and I will be returning for the lunchtime equivalent. Who knows, I may even go for the full house. An easy 5 star review #supportlocal

Nice coffee but very slow service

The coffee is about the best in town. The staff are polite and helpful. The customers are quite eccentric and beautiful. You can be sharing your table with a top barrister or actor. Everyone is friendly and you can relax outside watching the world pass by...it does get busy Food is good serving both lunch and breakfast.

Two out of three toasted bagels were cold. Child’s bagel cut in half with same knife that had cut through hot chilli jam bagel. Toilet ‘closed’ to a 3 year old in potty training so had to find closest public toilet to prevent accident. Yet a customer the waitress knew could use the toilet no problem. Plug for lamp loose for toddlers fingers to find their way into. Free water was tasty

We used to come here often at the weekend for abagel and coffee or juice and always had great service and delicious food. We've been back once since the new ownership and it wasn't great...we decided to give it another go today. We made our usual order which was fine but when we collected our food the young staff were too nervous about having made us wait than giving us the right thing. This resulted in us getting home to find we had the wrong order :( The bagels we did get were bland with sparse fillings. The Oreo milkshakes were also alot more milky than they used to be.

Really great breakfast spot, the bagels and coffee are delicious. We were served quickly, staff were friendly and the price was awesome. Will be returning soon.

Nice, tasty bagels and a good homemade soup. I'm a bit of a coffee snob and the flat white was a little disappointing. As an independent coffee shop would love to see a bit more flavour or freshness. Be great to see some selection of independent coffees as well.. But I am a coffee snob!

Went Sun morning for two takeaway coffees...took just over 20mins to get them. Service very slow and only moderately busy

Have only ever been for breakfast. However has always been a good experience. Tasty bagels and friendly staff. Coffee is good. They do often seem to forget things in my order but quickly correct when I remind them. Ressently changed things around so feels more spacious than previously.

Bagels are poor (they used to be great, not now), service was poor (young staff are great, but organised poorly, seems there is no leadership). The coffee is the only good thing. I love walking my dog on Reigate Hill and Urban Kitchen is a lovely way to finish with a great coffee (real chocolate shavings on top) and their multi-seed bagels with dry cure bacon for brunch are superb. Well worth a visit if you're nearby.

We sometimes stop here for a Sunday snack. The large variety of bagel fillings are great and the coffee is good. They also do smoothies. It is usually busy. The tables do need to be cleaned and cleared more frequently.

We popped in for lunch. The tables outside were all taken so we ate in. First thing to mention is eating inside is noisy. You're going to be joined by a rattling fridge, clattering staff and most likely the Stereophonics... Second thing is the staff... I mean they're not rude exactly but just seem kind of 'above it all'. No-one was particularly helpful, all a little disorganised and uninterested. The bagels were again okay, bit burnt in places. And a pet hate, the glasses were filthy. To the point that on two there was old food stuck to them. Bit surprised at how packed it was, but maybe the coffee is really good or something, as I'm not sure we'd go back.

I came here during one lunch break for a coffee. It was very busy so was surprised to see that staff were working hard to still take the time to make things properly, especially the coffee. Costa and Nero's just rush their coffee leaving a bitter taste. 5*****

Coffee and food here are always good, but on couple of recent visits staff seem disengaged, tables are filthy and covered with used plates and cups that nobody seems to bother clearing up! Staff deliver food but then walk past tables covered with debris on their way back to the kitchen.Maybe worth just taking the food and drink as a take away as choice of Castle Grounds or Priory Park nearby would make more pleasant seating areas.

It states on the website that urban kitchen is open till 11pm so we decided to go for coffee to find it is closed why is this!! Very unhappy. Bad advertisement. Very very disappointing

The coffee here is 100% the best coffee in Reigate, it's clear the staff really care about the blend and the quality of the coffee + the hot chocolate is simply to die for. The staff are lovely, really friendly and are clearly passionate about the business especially the lovely manager and assistant manager. The bagels are lovely and they have so many different flavour bagels (including gluten free) and loads of different fillings of which oh can also create your own. The seats are comfortable and the shop is welcoming but gets very busy around lunch time. Definitely worth a visit.

Urban kitchen has lovely and very helpful staff. Extensive menu with loads to offer and they do everything they can to cater to every taste. If you're a fan of coffee, you won't find better in Reigate

I was excited to see Urban Nine had opened again during the day. It used to be a great destination for brunch with lots of bagels on offer.They now serve very ordinary food that could be straight from your freezer. I was so disappointed. The kitchen has been sub let and the manager is very arrogant when faced with any complaints.There are so many great restaurants in Reigate such a shame this is no longer one of them!

We went to Urban 9 for Mothering Sunday lunch to try the new menu. Very disappointing menu - no kids meals, everything fried, bland, small portions and highly priced. £10 fish and chips was 4 fish gougon and 5 chips. When we complained about portion size the waiting staff were told they couldn't do anything. The kitchen has been outsourced you see. So the chef sets portion size and prices. When we discussed with the couldn't care less manager after our meal and once the mothers had left to avoid embarrassing them, they told us about the arrangement and absolved themselves of any responsibility. A real shame given what it was when the urban kitchen brand in Reigate was authentic. As a family who has spent a lot of money in the various Urban Kitchen establishments over the years we will be boycotting the franchise going forward. Avoid and take your hard earned to the authentic Reigate kitchens of Cullenders, Chalk Hills and Beryl and Pegs. Leave this one to the students.

Somewhere a little different - nice range of delicious, filled bagels plus other snacks and drinks. Well worth dropping by.

How many times have I arrived to hear "sorry we're not serving food now"? Seriously... I know there are peak times for serving food but can't you just serve from opening till close? I guess not! There's a time in Reigate when everywhere closes or stops serving food, why not be the place that caters for those of us whose eating schedule is irregular? There is very little on the menu and even less if you are vegetarian... all in all I can only say that this place lacks imagination and convenience

I can't seem to find Urban 9 on here which is a fab bar above Urban Kitchen! It has a trendy piano playing person for you to wiggle to as you sip your drink & chat(slightly louder then usual) to your friends. You can hire the room off to the side for a private function and enjoy the slightly more mature (30yrs plus)clientele that is better then the younger nearby JJ Whispers.Above arrange bar prices but a good atmosphere, nice decor and obviously very popular.

Urban 9 is a bar above the Urban kitchen. It shares the same kitchen but is accessed at street level by separate doors. It specialises in live music and is divided into 3 interconnecting areas, a bar a music room and a snug/lounge. Trip Advisor will not let me leave a separate review!My wife and I visited on 3 occasions, in the early evening to arrange a private party. On each occasion it was relatively quiet, music was good and staff friendly and helpful. The main event was a private party for about 60 people. The venue worked perfectly and staff and management, could not do enough to make sure our celebration was really special. The management, who love their music, helped plan and deliver the perfect party. The staff were fantastic going the extra mile to ensure everyone was comfortable. The finger food was delicious, I recommend the toasted almonds as nibbles and the mini burgers and seafood platters as part of the main, but it was all good. The music was supplied by two musicians recommended by the management whom we had heard on one of our pre event visits. They were great and allowed my niece to sing with them (fortunately she is a very good singer). Also one of our guests, a concert pianist also played. We were not hurried to leave and left with the impression the staff enjoyed it as much as we did!It was a fantastic afternoon/evening and this has been confirmed by the huge number of messages we have received from our guests, who were absolutely bowled over by the great party, music and wonderful staff.I can thoroughly recommend Urban 9 for a special private event, and whilst I have not been late in the evening, earlier it is a great place to have a drink and listen to new musicians. A massive thank you to the staff and management at Urban9

Bar is good but door staff are heavy-handed and looking for trouble. It is a shame as this was previously a friendly relaxed place now you need to be on your guard!Be warned.Never find me in there again...

Following a night duty at a local charity I found fresh bagels with salmon and cream cheese and a black coffee just what i needed until I could get home and sleep. The staff are alway welcoming and friendly.

I popped by recently for a quick cup of joe, however was surprised by the amount of choice of quick bites they had available! I'm partial to a bagel or two and in this case felt obliged to indulge. The fillings ranged from pastrami with american mustard to chicken and chilli jam with additional extras. Fab! I am a keen Latte drinker and often enjoy a cheeky shot of vanilla syrup. Urban Kitchen's Coffee was carefully made with a loving hand producing a nice leaf pattern. This brings to my last point, the staff. Well what can i say, my server of the day was enthusiastic, genuine and down-to-earth, My total experience here was great and i hope to return soon as my needs were for-filled.

Bagels are tasty, good size and quantity . Weekly specials of 5 a day concoctions are innovative and Refreshing to drink .. I visit this place very often .. A must try when in reigate and hungry :-)

It's definitely the greatest cafe in Reigate. I was in Reigate for work and had a bite and coffee here every single day because frankly the food is super good and the coffees are stellar. I definitely recommend the Bacon and Chicken Bagel sandwich. Amazing!

Since opening their nightclub venture above the cafe, this once lovely little Saturday morning spot has declined significantly. Seems to be 2 or 3 staff less than previously, always stuff not on the menu early I the day and lacking any real organisational leadership. Two juices this morning took about 20 minutes and were rank, we threw the majority away.

As a simple lunch occasion, this is one of my preferred places. The interior isn’t special at all, the terrace is in a busy street and has plastic furniture but the warm bagels make up for all this; they are just fantastic. My favourite is the BBC (Bacon, Brie, Chili) with a Sesame Bagel. A good second in the ranking is the Spicy Chicken with a Cheese and Jalapeño Bagel. Together with some Kettle crisps and something to drink makes a marvellous lunch!

This was a lovely friendly little café, where shoppers in general, and mothers with their children, were welcomed to spend a happy hour or two during the daytime. This was until mid-2014, when the proprietor decided that he wanted to encourage the youth market, who presumably were more lucrative. So he changed the décor and furniture, to the extent where we no longer felt welcome or comfortable, and we had to find other premises to meet up for morning coffee and afternoon tea.

Good smoothies and bagels, a little on the pricey side but its all well prepared with fresh ingredients so you expect to pay a little more. Nice stop for lunch.

Urban 9 is a great venue. The service is always excellent, you get the feeling that you are in a London bar without having to travel into the big smoke to get there. Good wine list, good cocktails and nice atmosphere inside. The piano player is always a nice touch and it's the closest that you get to listening to decent dance music outside of London (Calvin Harris does not count as decent dance music...) It's just such a shame that the door policy (and the staff who enforce it) are so unreasonable. No trainers is a long-outdated measure that does not guarantee a particular clientele. Come on Urban 9, get with the times: no one enforces that rule any more. And perhaps a slightly more polite manner from your door staff (mainly the lady) wouldn't go amiss either. Comments such as 'you don't fit the bill' are insulting and poorly judged. Such a shame. It would be the perfect venue if it wasn't for the bad attitude (and policy) on the door. *sigh*

Not bad prices, the staff got my friend's order wrong but corrected it immediately and they have a good variety of food and drink. Seats are comfortable and clean. Would come here again.

Called into Urban 9 after finding Urban kitchen very busy! What a great choice! The chairs and sofas are extremely comfortable, great atmosphere. We had the Breakfast wrap and sausage bagels , they were delicious. Coffee good as always. Staff are friendly, helpful and do not hurry you. We will be calling back!
