We had cravings - for beer and for something sweet. Two pints were duly necked. The warm double chocolate fondant with coffee ice cream definitely hit the spot - possibly the best ever. Staff were good too.

Booked a table for 3 people for a Sunday roast. Ordered the lamb and the plate arrived half full with one slice of lamb. I queried the small portion to be told that they only allocate 1 slice of meat per order! Food was tasty but didn’t warrant the big price tag. Left still hungry. Won’t be eating there again in a hurry!

I went for Sunday lunch with friends today. We have been before, but a few years ago. Lovely service and nice food, but portion sizes were not great. £20 for a roast and only one slice of lamb. Was still hungry afterwards. Not value for money, expensive for what it is. We did mention it to the staff, but they said that was the standard portion. Most I’ve paid for a Sunday roast and least amount served in a plate. Doubt I’ll be returning soon. Sorry.

We had a lovely evening at The Woolpack. Delicious fresh and tasty meals in a comfortable atmosphere, friendly, efficient service. The prices are good especially considering how freshly prepared everything is including little extra touches to each dish. We are looking forward to going back another evening, it was our friends first time and they were impressed enough to want to come back too.

We had English breakfast here. The place seemed a little bit intimidating/swanky from the outside but the prices were not too dissimilar from others in the area. It was delicious & it was so nice to be asked how do we like our eggs. The manager came out to apologise for the kitchen staff that were being loud but it did not bother us. Great coffee too.

I hate to write a negative review, and I really tried to find some positives. The staff were just so rude. First time in the pub, the young server with dark hair rolled her eyes when I asked a question regarding registering my car, and the machine not working. She couldn't have been more disinterested in serving. (Maybe because I'm not a regular - who knows!). I went up to get a second drink. As I approached the bar - which had no other customers at it, the blonde haired server caught my eye, then walked away. I waited a bit. She returned - and served someone else. At that of course we left. I'm sure on another day it would be fine, but as a first impression, this place does not care one bit for customer service. We of course popped down the road - and had the warmest welcome at the Mint. The team were lovely and despite having a much smaller beer selection - I'd return any day over the experience I had.

Great welcome with a lovely atmosphere. Staff went out of their way to make my birthday lunch a real treat. Chef was so good I bought him a drink. Electric car charging in the car park too. Great way to "fuel up" while you fuel up. Model of how Pubs need to be to survive. All Pubs with a car park need to pay attention to the opportunity that providing car charging can do to increasing their turn over.

Sunday 1at September 24 called in for lunch, we ordered the Sunday roast and I had the charcuterie. The Sunday lunch was so so as expected but the Charcuterie board was terrible! Very cheap ingredients and it was served with toast! The whole thing shouted “cheap, cheap”!! We spoke to the server when she asked how the food was and all she said Is that she would tell the Chef. No manager or Chef etc came over, that was it! Maybe that’s why the place was empty, compared to our regular visits over the past 20 years, people voting with their feet! So we left and now I review.

This is our local pub, so very disappointed. We ordered the food, however to be told that we had to order starters, then come back again to order the mains. We received our starters, with one missing, so had to reorder the missing starter. We then ordered our mains separately and whilst waiting, an incredibly long time, we were presented with the entire bill, for food not received. After quite some time we eventually got our mains, cold chios, I mean stone cold, the rest of the food was OK, apart from a very expensive sea bass, that was not worth the price tag. Service was not very good either. It turned out to be a meal that was not value for money.

Having eaten at the Wallpack numerous times, I was extremely surprised and disappointed to find that my meal (Haddock and chips) came ready salted, which was not mentioned on the menu. Our server did ask if there were any allergies or dietary requirements at the time of ordering my meal, I find it extremely bewildering that in this day and age you find it necessary to add salt over my fish and chips without mentioning to customers that this your establishments procedure. As salt/ seasonings were not mentioned on the menu I felt it was not a necessity to mention at that time, however I did return the meal asking for the salt (which was liberally sprinkled over the entire fish) to be removed as I am unable to process salt, only to find that the chip were also coated in salt which meant that I left the meal, but pointed out to our server when she cleared our plates my disappointment. In conclusion, might I ask that on the menu you mentioned the fact that these meals have salt sprinkled over them so as not to receive any further reviews like this. I would also add that the other five guests at the table receive their drinks, but I had to ask three times for my drink (no ice) which only came with my main course (plus ice). I do not like or enjoy leaving reviews like this, but I do think it was necessary.

36 of us from Woodhatch WI went for the Christmas dinner menu. We had an area of the restaurant set aside for us. When we arrived the tables were beautifully set and crackers were provided for us. Everyone agreed they had really enjoyed their meal. All the meals arrived hot and we were served quickly considering the size of the group. The staff were fantastic, the food was both delicious and plentiful. The lemon meringue Sunday was my favourite dessert this year. I highly recommend this very friendly pub/restaurant.

Very disappointed. We were a little late because the road was closed and we had to go a long way to get there, the lady behind the bar was not happy with us even after we apologised. The price of each of our meals was £18 so you expect a good standard. The fish in the fish and chips was very small and overcooked and the peas were barely warm. The fish pie had one king prawn in it and was served with 8 green beans and 2 halves of carrot. The aubergine gratin was burnt and when I asked for another one the waitress said it was supposed to look like that, but when I pointed out that its possible to cook it without burning it she took it away. All in all, it wasn't a nice experience and we certainly won't be going back.

We booked for their festive menu. The decor is beautiful at Christmas time. So festive. Unfortunately the atmosphere, service and food did not match the decor which was really disappointing. Combined with the meal being average at best, we were also shocked to find that a house bottle of red wine was £30! My son asked for a bread roll with butter and got a slice of toast plus his meal arrived after everyone had finished. Although, in fairness, they did not charge us for his meal as a result. Nor could my daughter eat her butternut soup as it was way too spicy. It’s a lovely venue for a pint but the quality of the food needs to improve a lot before we would ever consider eating there again unfortunately.

Planning permission was eventually received for conversion of the pub into residential units - and work has now commenced on the car park. A great pity - as this pub has played a large part in the lives of the local Reigate Hill community for many decades, and now has gone forever.
