Wonderful place. I haven't been there in years until the 14th April 2025 with my daughter as a trip down memory lane. Good menu, easy to order and fast polite service. Food arrived in no time at all, exactly as ordered. Looked good tasted even better. I would go again anytime. The only thing I could fault if I had to. The metal knives and forks are a bit bendy when cutting food. I can live with that.

Came here with some friends on Tuesday and was kindly greeted by two of the staff. Throughout the night I thought service was great and made me want to come back for a drink another day

Came here as reviews are great & it's got a child's park area. Was disappointed. Food service was very slow. Staff look disinterested. Half the menu wasn't available due to no fridge & BH weekend? We were not called & informed of this prior to arrival. Chicken was dry. No one checked was the food ok during or after the meal. Very basic we won't be back.

Oh dear! I don’t visit Ikea often but when I do I always say ‘no one suggest going to Ikea again!’ Warrant it was a Sunday on the bank holiday weekend, and the car park was almost full by 11:20 ( it opens at 11am) should have been enough to get back in the car and go home! Busy, very busy. The cafe was rammed, we picked the wrong side as the lady in charge told the people behind us to go to the other service side and get their food, followed by half the queue, they got served first, we waited for another 10 minutes. This allowed us to look at the meagre cake selection, meagre in choice and portion size ( I’m sure years ago it wasn’t like this?) Then it dawned on us why it was so busy - if you had the family Ikea card you could have your meatball meal for a £1 rather than the full price due to it being the bank holiday weekend. One assistant was great the other couldn’t raise a smile or actually anything - slopped on some chips and peas and that was it. The hot drinks was next - a code on your receipt to get a third of a cup of very milky coffee. (Weren’t refills free once?) and by the time we’d sussed and sorted it out our food was cold. The shop is poorly laid out, the marketplace is too compact, trolleys everywhere, the payment was quick, but the take away food at the end was heaving and the small Swedish supermarket was a jumble with two self service checkouts. A trip five minutes down the road to an industrial estate to pick up two garden chairs put extra time on our journey. I definitely said never again - and this time I’ll stick to it.

A truly dreadful “salad” bowl that contained what appeared to be a whole tin of chickpeas, 12 French beans, 2 slivers of cucumber and a couple of bits of sun dried tomatoes. This was topped by a very small portion of dry chicken and a complete absence of any fresh salad vegetables. Definitely not recommended.

What a wonderful pub. Rhys and Michelle are doing a wonderful job. The brisket is amazing. Rhys is always happy to put a brisket on the barbecue, especially if you ask in advance. Great work guys, keep it up!

Stayed here for two nights. Easy check in. Problem we had the first night was that the heated towel rail in the bathroom was giving off so much heat that it was making the room very hot. I spoke to a member of staff the following morning and they managed to get someone to turn it down for us. We had to wait a while for our breakfast on the second morning. We found the manager that was on evening and breakfast was very helpful and friendly

Probably one of the worst places I’ve been to. The service was awful. All of the tables were filthy and we had to request for our table to be cleaned prior to sitting down, which was done begrudgingly. When our breakfast came out, I can only describe it as a refied and warmed up previously cooked food. Everything was over cooked due to constant refrying and warming up, the beans were served up with a congealed bean sauce where they had been sitting for so long. No condiments are on the table like you would expect to find in a normal decent establishment. You have to go and request these as apparently they have a problem with theft of ketchup and brown sauce. This is definitely not a good place to eat. Definitely not fresh food!! And in my opinion avoid at all costs!!!

2 large 99's ice creams takeaway cost £7.90 on 1st April and £11.90 on the 5th April? Asked for explanation via messenger-but all 3 attempts ignored! We are local & have been regulars to the Bay for many years...but a little disappointed now; are times that desperate customers are ripped off? We now buy the same from Cains amusement arcade for £7, and the ice cream is much better too, looking back on receipts this is the same price as it was in 2023

Oh dear, our Thai dinner must rate as one of the worst experiences ever. The starters of chicken satay were cold and tough. The accompanying peanut sauce was tasteless. Only a fork and spoon were provided and so we had to ask for knifes! The main courses of noodles were mushy and inedible, it was supposed to be served with chicken but only two small pieces were there. The beef massaman main course was tough and over cooked. Not sure what the sauce was supposed to be but it was a congealed gloop of something brown. So, although the food was most disappointing the bottle of Malbec was excellent and a very good price. Go to the Plough for a drink and enjoy!
