La comida es consistentemente brillante y los verdaderos ales siempre están muy bien cuidados. También tiene el mejor Guinness de la zona, con diferencia.

Arrived on a lovely sunny day and so the pub was very busy. A waitress saw us waiting and checked us in and showed us to our table. We had a 6 month old with us and needed hot water to warm his bottle up and this was no problem, the water was replaced 3 times. Food was good, not too much of a wait. Waitress was attentive and looked after us well - thank you Chloe, you were great!

An absolute disgrace. After returning the first meal as the beef was not pink as advised and all the vegetables were cold and soft not to mention a Yorkshire pudding that was flat as a pancake and the stuffing was solid and cold. They then send me a dish that was even worse. The YP was frozen inside. All I got was sorry we will refund the meal. No free drink no real acknowledgement of the trash they served.

Came here for lunch. Have to say the food we had was very good with pretty generous portions and very tasty. Service was friendly and good as well, would certainly come back. The only downside is that access can be a little tricky at the moment, with the local authority digging up several of the roads locally, at least one direction was blocked, ut was well worth the effort.

As a fairly regular visitor I have to say I’ve never experienced any problems. And today was no different. We were advised there was a bit of a delay with food orders, but quite honestly it was only the normal 15/20 minute wait from ordering to when our food arrived. The quality was good, it was hot, well presented, and the staff serving it were very pleasant. Same with the deserts, although I could have eaten a larger portion, even though I probably shouldn’t! & a pint was less than a fiver. You don’t get that in many places generally.

Arrived for a meal to be asked have you booked a table (we hadn’t) to be told we don’t accept walk in customers ( the restaurant was virtually empty)? But could sit in the bar side area and order from the same restaurant menu. I ordered a mixed grill with steak medium rare, and my partner ordered a bacon burger after approximately 40 minutes later the food arrived, my steak was so overcooked it was borderline black and bone dry, the triple cooked chips were barely cooked once never mind triple cooked, my partner’s burger was also burnt to a crisp it looked like a carpet tile and the bacon shattered into pieces when trying to cut it. I wouldn’t trust the chef (using that title very loosely) to make toast. Worse experience ever I wouldn’t return even if the food was free and I was starving! Avoid… top prices for extremely substandard food.

Great Value for our Family Gathering 16 of us dined at The Sloop a couple of days before Christmas. Staff were really friendly and 'Liker' at the Carvery was a fun character. We were not seeking a fine dining experience, we simply wanted a space where we could together for a meal and drinks.... & The Sloop ticked those boxes.

The worst Sunday Roast I have ever been served. Raw Yorkshire puddings and beef that was so tough you couldn’t cut it. To top it all off had to wait 2.5 hrs for this pleasure

For a cheap and cheerful dinner out it is difficult to knock this place. Gourmet it is not but that does not mean bad food. What we had was nice enough and satisfied the family , even the gluten free member. The menu selection was quite wide so there were choices for every one

I allways have mixed emotions at Eastbourne Tobys. I enjoy the food and selection but it allways seems understaffed and the employees stressed. It’s not a complaint , rather an observation. This visit was no exception, they were very busy. However the staff member serving the meat was down right arrogant and rude, a complete disgrace to your company. He was bearded and tattooed with an aura of wishing he was somewhere else, we were being served and my wife said the gravy has run out . To which he replied. “Not my problem, gravy has nothing to do with me “. He may well have been right but only had to stick his head in the kitchen to advise someone. But no , I’m not sure which charm school this man graduated from but he’s a disgrace . Perhaps if he’s so unhappy in his role he should try waitressing the tables, then he would have a rude awakening. So Tobys, please learn from this . This individual seems to be more than just a training issue. If he doesn’t want his job there’s plenty that would welcome it .
