Wonderful hotel, excellent service and beautifully maintained.

Lovely quiet atmosphere for couples, friends and families.

Last minute on a Sunday lunch time, unfortunately they were very full so had to eat and sit outside, food was good, couldn't stay long due to being outside.

Fantastic Sunday roast followed by a great dessert, some of the best food we've had in a while. Lovely interior and good first impressions with the cleanliness. Staff were friendly and quick. Would definitely recommend and we will be returning.

Was recommended here by a local and ita hands down one of the beat pub roasts we've ever had. They were super busy but we ordered and were served an amazing meal within 20mins. Lovely staff and customers. Very clean and great choice of drinks and food. Wish I could take it home with me

Family meal .Arrived after being let down by another establishment. Treated brilliantly. Owner and staff couldn't help more.As my wife and I were from Wales on a visit to my daughter and grandchildren we were in need of a substantial meal.

Went with friends last night, had a really great Vietnamese curry, one of the best curries I’ve had for a while.

Went with a school friend for lunch. Lovely atmosphere, nice food. Very welcoming. Will re-visit in the future.

Food was good and freshly cooked. Great beer choice and being busy shows the pubs popularity. Will visit again if in the Frimley Park hospital area.

My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary with a Sunday Lunch. I had roast lamb and my husband had roast pork. Both were excellent, lovely tender meat and crispy roast potatoes, plenty of fresh vegetables, cooked to perfection. A good selection of desserts which were delicious. It is our local which we would definitely recommend.

Best pub food we have had since coming to England. I recommend the daily pie. Crust is very flakey

Our large family group visited The Old Whestsheaf today (29th December 2023) for lunch for our Christmas meet up. The pub itself is quite pretty and well presented but one member of staff ruined the experience. Considering we were pretty much the only people in the pub, we could not have been made any less welcome by her and made to feeling like we were inconvenicing her by filling the restaurant. This was the verdict of all 16 people on our table so not just my opinion. The food was average but did all come out together and was hot. We will 100% never return to the pub because of her attitude and next year seach another location close by.

This is the best of the old fashioned pubs. Good beer, friendly staff and excellent food.

It's a bit old worldly but food was very good. Service very prompt and hot . Pies and sunday roasts were good

Parents enjoy this place. It's OK and happy to take them but its nothing special. Male staff who I encountered seemed a bit blunt and rude initially, when I ordered my omelette. If I hadn't had family members I would have said something. ( possibly on the spectrum?)

We visited this pub as it was close to hospital where one of us had an appointment nearby. They had a lunchtime menu with old favourite & a specials menu. The food we ordered was well cooked & tasty & a reasonable price. The person serving us was friendly & welcoming. Will certainly go there again

Lovely cosy setting with great drink selection but then....burger night and no vegetarian burger. The more matured lady there made us feel like we were constantly an inconvenience. Every thing was too much to ask. Drinks didn't arrive. Portion size versus price awful. At the end of the night the same lady stood right by us and said are you done. Then having to down 1/4 of a pint. Such a shame. Maybe it's time to think of a new career if you dislike it that much

Met with family we all had a Sunday Roast and some extra sides the lunch was perfect as was the service the young lady that served us had a lovely smile and nothing was to much trouble. We will be back.

Just fnished a fabulous meal here at The Wheatsheaf on a Tuesday evening . What's not to like! Great choice on the Theme Menu, lovely staff, food to perfection (thank you Chefs), sticky toffee pudding so good I stopped talking! (Rare occurrence). Even the house red was stonking. Don't hesitate to come - you wont be disappointed. (We're coming back for my Birthday - Yippee!)

We have eaten here several times this year and the food has been delicious every time. Good seasonal menu and would recommend. Service has also been spot on.

We recently had Sunday roast dinner. Lamb, beef, chicken and pork roasts are available. Beautiful old pub with lots of outside areas for dining. Great service but the food was just ok and far from impressive. It all looked and tasted a bit processed. The parnips are extra cost and so too is the stuffing and cauliflower cheese. Overall, the poor food quality meant that it was not very good value for money.

I had a meal at this pub and was very impressed with the food I received. The service is also very pleasant and I highly recommend this pub.

Lovely staff, food excellent, best chips in the area.

Just had the most delicious meal. The pie and burger were both fantastic, but it was the beautiful outisde seating area and fabulous service that really sets this place apart. Can't wait to go back.

An excellent pint of Guinness to be had here, so good even my Irish friend commented how good it was.

Went in for a Sunday lunch with my bestfriend who is a vegetarian, they had lots of options and the bar staff were all friendly and welcoming. The food came out very quickly and was piping hot and fresh, the portion size and value for money can’t be faulted and I would like to thank the chefs and well as the front of house staff Glen, Claire and Ann-Marie who brought out our food with a smile and made sure we had enough condiments and checked everything was okay, I felt bad for not being able to finish my food, it was delicious. I would highly recommend a Sunday lunch at the old wheatsheaf

Found The Old Wheatsheaf by chance. Traditional pub with a lovely outside covered eating area. The food was excellent and the service was perfect - friendly and relaxed. I had the apple and strawberry crumble for dessert - yum!!

Excellent pub with good lunchtime food. They have a wide selection of cooked food from toasted sandwiches and baguettes to a good range of proper pub food.

It tries hard to be a high quality pub but messed up with the drinks. The ale was a guest 'best bitter' which tasted of vinegar and the Thatchers cider was unpalatable. Left after drinking only ½ a pint of the cider

Disappointing. Went with expectations of a few drinks and a bit of food but left halfway through the first pint. Bit disheartening when a pub can't do a decent pint of ale or cider.

Nice village pub. Has dinner specials on different nights such as pie night on Thursdays. Limited hours during the day and closed on Mondays.

Lovely little traditional pub. Have lunched here quite a few time and have never had any issues. Service is perfect, staff are attentive and helpful. Food selection is great, prices even now are still reasonable. Food itself is delicious, chips with blue cheese is to die for 😋 Drink selection is brilliant. Lots to try and a lot of local breweries seem to have offerings here and they’re all served in lovely clean glassware. One of my favourites is the Hazy Hog cider.

Disappointing. We have been here many times before and always gad lovely food. Today food was OK. Still no facilities for kids, whuch us fine. I guess that's not the crowd you want but you'd think you'd make excuses and turn us away. In the past we've been accommodated with our toddler and you've made up a little plate of food but not today?!

Staff friendly and the food very good. But, if you want to dine in the restaurant, be advised that the piped music is more suited to a nightclub. Shrill "singing" with a constant 4 thumping beats to the bar.

One of the best dinners I have ever had. Welcoming stuff, incredibly tasty, fresh and well cooked food with generous desserts in a lovely atmosphere. Couldn't ask for more. Simply perfect!

When we walked in it was very dim so were a bit doubtful but staff were very friendly and food was excellent .Also great value for money would highly recommend to anyone.

Came for Pie Night and was pleasantly surprised. The portion of pie was massive and very tasty. Was sat in the conservatory and had great service. The pub side, was nice but felt more tailored to more mature customers rather than young.

Fantastic evening spent in the old wheatsheaf. We went for a running club social night. The food was delicious, as it always is and the staff helpful and friendly. We’ll definitely be back very soon.

We were four for Christmas dinner celebration on Saturday night. We arrived on time 7.30 pm, we’ve been told where was our table and we walked to the table ourselves. The man with tie came to take drinks order, put the drinks down and walked away, he looked rush and lost. The menu has been offered but he didn’t let us know what items run out or were low until we ordered he started to tell us the menu we wanted was finished then we ordered another thing he said it’s run out too, and two of us wanted the same menu he said only one left so we had to start looking again what we could have during he’s taking our orders he kept running back and forth to check with the kitchen because of lack of menu information before taking orders. He’s better had a good communication with kitchen before taking orders. After he finished taking the orders it was 7.48 pm I remember the time because I had the phone call in. We were in the same room that was surrounded by a few bigger tables with celebrations, the atmosphere seemed to be a good night for us too. When staff served food to other tables we all said oh food looks good, oh that’s food coming should be for us but it wasn’t until starters from a few tables had been cleared, their mains had been served and some tables had been cleared again but we still didn’t have our starters. I looked at the time it's been 40 mins and we all were very hungry, especially one of our friends who was an old lady nearly 80 year olds she was super hungry. I asked the lady staff that we were waiting for nearly an hour for starters, what’s happening hope the man didn’t forget our orders. She said sorry and went to check for us and came back and said they were very busy in the kitchen and food should be out soon we kept waiting but still no sign. My friend went to the bar, asked the man who took the order and we found out he’s the manager. My friend asked him how long will the food take as it’s been nearly one hour for 4 starters if the food are not coming out soon my friends would like to leave as they are very hungry …we all can’t believe what he replied to my friend, we didn’t do anything wrong or tried to argue, he said to my friend that IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO LEAVE YOU CAN THEN I WILL CANCEL YOYR ORDER ! no apology or tried to talk to keep customers or do anything at all. We decided to wait and food came after 5 mins. The starters had been served at 8.50pm, one hour exactly for 4 starters. I understand that anytime if the restaurant is busy staff Breyer let the customers to aware of waiting time but he said nothing that mean the restaurant can manage it. We are sure that he forgot our orders and worse than that he had never come to our tables but walked passed and cleared other tables he completely ignored us from what happened. We went to pay our bill at the bar, he was there but said nothing. He’s the manager he must have known what went wrong each night on his shift and he should have done something at least saying apology for the food delayed instead of silent and run away. We are not a complainer but we all work in hospitality job in management positions too. Menu information should be in our head before taking order. If something go wrong that’s not from customer the manager should deal with it but his performance was like staff who’s just joined the team. We all really disappointed with his response by respond nothing. I’m writing this just about him and the way of his performance that wasn’t match to his position but in another good side we all enjoyed the food that’s why kept us staying until finish. I believe even if the food is good but service is bad from staff one day the restaurant will have only good food left in the kitchen but no customer because food need good staff to serve.

Had dinner with a few friends. The service and the food were simply fantastic. Great to know that despite the increase in cost you can get a very decent meal. Well done and keep it going.

We came here as a medium-sized friendship group to catch up for lunch. With 8 of us, the bar staff were accommodating to make sure our lunches came out at a similar time so we could dine together. This isn’t always been the case here so we were pleased to see this, this time. The pie was enormous and portions this time were generous; a previous visit left us feeling portion size was rather stingy despite rising menu costs. The waitress was very polite and thoughtful.

I was very happy and made to feel so welcome with this visit. Great good all fresh so well put together, the food looked so good I will deffo be returning again, heard the lamb curries a banger…. Don’t get me started on the pepper curls on the salads…. 5 stars 👍👍👍👍👍

Have visited many times over a number of years and have never been disappointed with either the food or service supplied. On this visit I was able to make use of their outdoor dining area and I am more than happy to say that the level of service or attention to detail did not disappoint. So surprised to find a local pub serving a good Sunday roast for adults but does not serve child portions!!!! So a 3 year old has to pay for an adult roast and then leave 3/4 of it!!!!!. When it came to desserts we were able to have vanilla ice cream with sticky toffee pudding but our 3 year old could not choose vanilla ice cream in a bowl....she was only offered black forest, coconut or a crunchy ice cream.....this just does not make sense. As to baby facilities I was told there didn't offer highchairs but found out there are no baby changing facilities....the baby had to be changed on the floor of the ladies toilet!!!!! This is 2022....not 1922.....really shocked. Does this pub not welcome families??????

The food tasted great but the portion size was small, ideal for a child or a pensioner but not a working bloke, a spoon full of peas and carrots, a piece of broccoli and water thin beef. It is a shame because the food tasted lovely

Popped in for a few drinks on Saturday, lovely outside seating area. My only negative, as being first time in there, we went to get another drink at 3.10pm and all the doors were locked. The times on the sign by the door state 11am till 11pm, so was surprised all locked up. Not even the bar staff came to say we have to drink up, then looking on their Web page, it states they shut at 3pm. Maybe they should change their times on the outside sign.

What an amazing pub to stumble across. Nice beer garden, well maintained as well. Fantastic service and plenty of different lagers and beers to choose from. The staff are very friendly and polite, and the Manager Glen is so accommodating and happy.

Sunday lunch at The Old Wheatsheaf. Once again a lovely meal served by great staff. The place is, as always, spotless. Add to this a really good atmosphere, with well kept beers and wines and you have a perfect setting for lunch or an evening out.

Beautiful pub, staff so friendly. We had a lovely safe clean evening. Also knowledge of their produce really great. Highly recommend. Didn't get to try their food this time (I'd already eaten) but it is all freshly prepared on site and looks very inviting, going to be heading back to sample.
