Our party of 8 adults and 2 children were seated comfortably in the conservatory for lunch. The menu was extensive with something for everyone. The food was timely, well presented and exceeded our expectations in volume quality and taste. We would not hesitate to recommend this pub fare as well worth a visit.

The worst pub food I ever had anywhere! I went for a quick drink and something to eat, no menu only a blackboard . I asked can I have a burger? Sir we don’t do burgers was the reply. You what? So I ordered gammon steak which took in excess of half an hour to arrive. Cheap frozen chips, over cooked peas and the gammon was awful, not even properly cooked. The chips had black but in them, salad was a joke. Also the glass of wine at 11.60 was severely overpriced and very poor quality. I used to be a regular but this place is now shocking

Nice pub but opening times aren’t accurate. We went on a Sunday evening 5:30 and only had one drink and they said it was shutting at 6 but website says 10:30? We were very disappointed after walking over 20 minutes to get there.

Quiet and old fashioned - unfortunately this pub has failed to update & keep with the times. Whilst it may be perfect for locals, it offers very little to a visitor. It has a limited range of standard drinks, no craft beers that I could see & although the menu has a wide range of diverse hot & cold food (served until 2pm at lunchtime) there was nothing exciting. The redeeming feature is the outside space that has a raised sundeck & a secluded garden with seating & play area for kids.

Called here today visiting relatives, a bit of an unknown quantity for them as well as us, and they live here, clean welcoming pub, attentive staff, very helpful, meals ordered were the gammon egg and chips, ham eggs and chips and Guiness and beef pie with mushroom. All three meals were excellent, to be fair it's hard to cock up Gammon, the Ham was well cooked moist and tasty, the eggs were perfect, just that slight browning underneath that adds flavour. The Guiness pie was packed with flavour and not too much pastry, which was delicious, all served with a pointless salad dressing, but this is the norm. Chips were good, and not piled high.Good value as well at £88 for five meals and six drinks.. Pub was nice and warm on a cold day, two tv's showing football, but volume off so it didn't interfere.. Lets be fair this is a great little local pub turning out great food, or two local visitors were so impressed they promptly booked sunday lunch for the following day! Close to the M3 an ideal place to stop away from bloody awful services

We had a fabulous Sunday Lunch. Excellent value and a good choice. The roast pork was plentiful and extremely tasty, great gravy and an extra gravy boat to add if needed. I would recommend the cheese and biscuits with grapes and celery but if you have a sweet tooth the sticky toffee pudding it apple crumble. This is by far my favourite place to eat not only because of the food but the service and atmosphere. I highly recommend you book a table.

What a let down. Poor food, three out of five of our guests eating did not enjoy the so called home cooked food. My pate was insipid in colour, very cold as if just taken out of the fridge and solid to cut, no taste not even sure what pate it was as it did not tell you on menu. Chilli con carne came like tomato clear sauce and hardly any mince to be seen and tastless again. One strawberry on a tiny meringue with small scoop of ice cream so please call it one strawberry on ice cream but definitely not call it strawberries and ice cream. Horrible conservatory with decor out of the dark ages, every plant and the flower on the table is plastic to match the plastic table cloth and plastic place mats. Room had empty wine bottles around as some sort of decoration again in the dark ages. Asked for a sherry it came in a big wine glass . Loked ridiculous could found a smaller tumbler. Waiter was just ok with no enthusiasm about his job, I think he feels the same as the customers depressed when entering this pub. This is me being polite as there was plenty more to comment on .

Visited this pub to kill some time whilst in Lightwater. Visited during the day on a Thursday. I did read some of the Google reviews before going but there were so many positive I didn't have any reservations. I don't recognise the poor reviews from my experience there today. I've been to many pubs over the years and this one had a nice feel to it. Very relaxed and informal. Staff were all nice as were some of the patrons who seemed to be regulars. Few comfy old sofas as well as more typical seating. They had the cricket on (great for me) and also Golf and other sport on a different TV. Food was very good and tasty. Very prompt service too and, although they were quiet, sometimes pubs can take ages even then so every credit to them. Can't really fault the place so deserve 5 stars in my book!

I live in Lightwater and have only been to this pub three times in 8 years(says it all). Always feel unwelcome. Typical- all the regulars turn and stare when you come in, sit round the bar so you bar to ‘intrude’ to order a drink. They have a cupboard of games for children and a huge climbing frame outside. However, I have found the landlord very rude about children in the pub even when they are playing quite nicely near our table. It’s fine for regulars children to run around and create havoc but not for our children to be with us. Went in one night close to last orders and the landlord was so rude to those trying to order that we left abruptly. Bearing in mind we all live locally, have been in before and could become his frequent custom. Could be a lovely pub but is old fashioned, managed by rude staff and if you are not a regular propping up the bar you feel awkward and uncomfortable. Recommend you head to Bagshot, Windlesham or Chobham if you are this way.

I read the reviews of this place and checked the website. Seemed just the right place since they claimed the customer is at the core of service at this Pub. We noticed a sign saying that food is served till 16.00 which was just right as we arrived at 15.30. We were curtly told that the kitchen stops serving at 15.00. The only snack available were crisps! The only option for non-alcoholic beer was Becks! All in all a far cry from the customer centric claims of the business. Rugby seemed to be more important at the time.

We randomly chose this pub as it was half way for all of us to meet travelling in different directions! It is a warm and friendly pub with a real 'locals' feel. Welcoming and pleasant staff. Two friend's with me ordered scampi and chips, another the homemade pie special. All were happy with their choices and enjoyed them. One of us had chilli con carne with rice. This had to be sent back to make it hotter. When eaton it had very little flavour and certainly no bite. The garlic bread was over toasted. However, I wouldn't want you to use this experience to put you off trying this establishment. Real effort appears to go into how they run the business and the layout provides you with comfy corners and pleasant outside areas.

A very nice pub, situated near the a30 as you enter Bagshot. I was there twice last week. The first night was fairly quiet, but it was warm enough to sit outside in the beer garden. The second time, there was a function going on, so quite a buzz. It was chilly, though, so no Al fresco experience this time. The beer choice was good, and the service was excellent. On the busy night, the lady serving (Louise, I think) was kind enough to acknowledge me instead of just ignoring me, as often happens. I am not in the area often, but glad I found this pub as it will be a good option if I am.

I should have realised when I saw dirty marks on the front entrance. It is a basic pub. Only 2 people there when we arrived just after 12.30. The table was grimy. And wet. We waited for the rest of the family to arrive. The menus are greasy and dirty. But we had all travelled some way, and don't know the area, so we stayed. The starters were OK. Avoid the fish pie. It consisted of a very thick layer of potato, and a layer of fish, but no sauce around the fish, so it was very dry. We did mention this at the time, but no apology and no reduction in the bill. We won't be going back.
