A very nice pub, situated near the a30 as you enter Bagshot. I was there twice last week. The first night was fairly quiet, but it was warm enough to sit outside in the beer garden. The second time, there was a function going on, so quite a buzz. It was chilly, though, so no Al fresco experience this time. The beer choice was good, and the service was excellent. On the busy night, the lady serving (Louise, I think) was kind enough to acknowledge me instead of just ignoring me, as often happens. I am not in the area often, but glad I found this pub as it will be a good option if I am.

Only went for a couple of drinks with a friend, we didn't eat, but think I'd like to try food there. Ambience on Friday early evening was lively, busy but welcoming. Just popped in to kill some time. First time in Bagshot. Quiet, early afternoon, just a handful of locals but we were made welcome. Decent range of drinks but unfortunately I was driving, so opted for a coke. Nice olde traditional interior. Hard floors, low ceilings and lots of wood, with an upstairs library/snug.

My local pub, nearly as old as some of the occupants but in better condition. A 16 century building with 6' 3" (and lower) ceiling height so watch your head on the exposed huge wooden beams throughout the place. Judging from the way the beams have notches chopped out of them we think they might be old ship's timbers. As it is under new management (again (and again)) the place is finding its feet once more. With the installation of a new gas main one hopes the kitchen is to be developed and food to be served. Planning has been applied for as some covered garden seating is to be installed. The outside of the building has been painted so progress is happening. All music has been cancelled 15/5. We see some bands being booked to play on a Friday night, so far they have been excellent and the place had a very warm atmosphere. Real ale is there to be enjoyed and the future is to be decided with this place. It always comes down to good management so let's see what the new guys can bring.

After eating out in Bagshot on Saturday night, myself, my partner and two friends thought we would pop in for a drink. I entered and said 'Hello' cheerilly, but was astounded to be told that, at 10.45 on a Saturday, last orders had been called and they would only serve people who were in the bar when last orders were called. I guess that myself as a Bagshot resident of some 25 years, along with my partner and two friends were thought unsavoury, either that or the four people in the pub at that time had spent so much money that night ,that the pub didn't want our custom. I used to like the interior of the 3 Mariners; shame i won't see it ever again.

I have ! It's The Three Mariners at Bagshot. It's dark, cold and very unwelcoming. After an unwelcome visit some months ago, I decided to try again after finding the White Hart closed until 3pm on a Sunday (!), and was met by chatty and charming ladies Sarah and I think, Becky. I was immediately attracted to the range of beers - Black Sheep best, St. Austell Proper Job and Robinson's Trooper, which I didn't try. The Hogs Back Tea was off. The beer was excellent, but frankly, that's not enough. Without food, except for a bag of crisps, it's nowhere near attractive enough for a Sunday lunchtime drink. I can understand how difficult it is for a pub to turn a profit, especially when so many punters have been turned away for various reasons in the past, but I saw no evidence of an effort or investment to give the customers what they want - especially at this time of year. There was almost no Christmas decoration, no food and sadly, no customers staying for more than a pint, except for my wife and me. This is the most historic pub in Bagshot and should be able to raise its game, as it has done for the last 3 or 4 hundred years. I hate giving average marks to an ancient establishment with a vibrant history, but if it wasn't for the beer, my rating would have been lower. A pub cannot expect to succeed by serving good beer without something to eat. Please, 3 Mariners, try hard to make this pub a success. I wish you luck.

Sat done with menus when my wife realised her small glass had lipstick on it . We asked for a new glass and were brought a half lager glass!!!!. So to the menus, my wife chose Lamb Koftas with French Fries and I chose a Regular Burger. A few minutes later the young lady came back to inform me they had not got any burgers!! Back to the menu, I then ordered Battered Fish & Chips. A few minutes later the young lady returned to inform me that they had run out of fish!!!!! The place was not busy at all and it was only 7.00 p.m. so not having basic items from a very limited menu was surprising!!! We finished our drinks and left for a competitor, we will not return.

Very convenient for the M3. Very friendly, helpful staff, parking and a varied pub menu with home cooked classics. I should have realised when I saw dirty marks on the front entrance. It is a basic pub. Only 2 people there when we arrived just after 12.30. The table was grimy. And wet. We waited for the rest of the family to arrive. The menus are greasy and dirty. But we had all travelled some way, and don't know the area, so we stayed. The starters were OK. Avoid the fish pie. It consisted of a very thick layer of potato, and a layer of fish, but no sauce around the fish, so it was very dry. We did mention this at the time, but no apology and no reduction in the bill. We won't be going back.
