The best restaurants serving British food in South East

Lovey fresh large tempura prawns, salt and pepper squid, and nachos.

Great pub. Nice beer. We didn't eat. Fast service and friendly staff.

Appears to be the place to be late on Satuday as was getting very busy at 11pm when other pubs were closing

The seafood linguini was rather bland. Restaurant staff were slow and not very attentive. Sunny place but no views (parking lot).

Very nice place to have a drink when you arrive in the Isle of White staff very friendly reasonable price drinks all in all would highly recommend this little watering hole as first port of call.

Haven't been to the Garland for a while but decided to pop in & what a pleasant surprise. Clean & tidy, friendly, welcoming staff & great beers. Really great to see this pub on the up again.

Gave this place a try around 6pm on a Sunday after having no clue where to go and having made my decision by searching the local area and reading previous reviews; and I'm so glad I did. They held on for me before closing the kitchen and it really was a gem of a find in a lovely village. The place was just brilliant and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. I dined in the restaurant area, which was very nicely done and clean. Being a Sunday and the early evening, I was expecting only roast dinners and for them to be sold out, but in fact they had a wide choice of food and were still able to cater for roast dinners, including specific dietary requirements, which was nice to see. It was such a nice change to find somewhere that was not only decent, but really exceeded expectations. I decided to have a roast in the end and went with the turkey breast and it was one of the nicest roasts I've had, followed by a chocolate brownie and ice cream, which with the biscuit crumb on the side too, was also really nice. I would definitely recommend The Holly Tree to anyone and will be back again with friends and family in the near future, hopefully with the sun shining to enjoy the lovely garden and outdoor seating they have there too.

It’s not a cafe, it’s a window with 2 very cold women serving. Expensive snacks and coffee not great. Don’t bother expecting anything amazing! Can’t eat in best off going up dalby better coffee, food, price and atmosphere

We had large fish and chips (and curry sauce) here Saturday lunchtime, we ordered and sat on the bench out the front to eat them. I believe the food was cooked fresh, it was really tasty, best fish and chips I have had for a while. It was also reasonably priced. I will be going back.

The worst fish and chips I have ever eaten the batter on the fish was so bad my dog wouldn’t eat it 🤮 think they need lessons in how to cook fish in batter , they charged me £18.50 for a meal I had to throw away , so do not go here !!
