Amazing place, incredible Sunday roast thanks boysterous burger team in the kitchen!

Overpriced and overhyped. Burger was ok but small and pretty generic, lucky to have received it as they decided to close the kitchen despite us having a reservation. Waitress had an attitude and our meal was brought out piecemeal. Would recommend just going to Burger King, you'll save money and be more full at the end.

Didn't see a fountain, didn't get head. Will try again another time.

This is a hidden gem! Food is delicious, staff are friendly and helpful. And the pub is so comfortable and relaxed!

I went in on the Saturday just gone! And my good these burgers from Boystrouse burgers” are absolutely insane! I ended up ordering 2 juicy Zeus! Because it was that good. I didn’t take photos because I absolutely inhaled these burgers! To quote my friend they were orgasmic! I will definitely be back to try the whole menu.

My partner and I came in for a drink on Saturday evening and saw they were doing new food. I have to say the new Boysterous Burger menu was out of this world. Really great quality food. Delicious sides. We had the prawn marry me fries with the chicken tenders and a burger each. Will defo be back again for food. Well done to the new guys in the kitchen. Food was amazing

Went to a poetry event on Saturday Absolutely fantastic events. Had a lovely time. Gluten-Free beer which is always good as a coeliac Inclusive feel to the place. A good time.

We stopped here as the menu sounded exciting! The burger is up there as one of the best I’ve ever had! Finest quality beef, flavours were incredible. I had the Blue my mind, it certainly did. We also had oysters, frickles, very dirty fries (omg) all fricking delicious! Get your mouths round their burgers! Great pub and excellent choice of beers….highly recommend

Went to a poetry event here today and it was a lovely, relaxed, safe space. The staff were lovely, respectful and really friendly. Didn’t eat there but the food did look lovely. Defo be returning! And will be taking my dog next time as they seemed very dog friendly.

My son and I came for a burger to try the new kitchen. Excellent quality and really tasty. The burger buns especially were fresh and somehow crispier than burger buns have business being. My Son wanted just something plain and they were happy to help. He loves it and ate every bite. Bravo!

I come here specifically for the Sunday Roasts - great vegan options. It’s never too busy on a Sunday, so service is always fast and friendly! The cocktails were lovely as well!

This was the second time we have had the vegan Sunday lunch, our visit was 9th Feb 25. So you go once and you say that it was the best vegan roast you’ve had, ever! Then you go again a few months later thinking it can’t be as good. It was absolutely sublime. Every morsel on the plate was divine. Crispy spuds, a lovely assortment of veg and a delish wellington with tons of flavour. My other half dislikes anything green, he ate the greens!!!! I love gravy, this was top notch gravy and I asked for more and finished that too. Food aside, I have to say Cyd and Etti ( I don’t know them I wanted to give them a shout out) were fabulous. Two lovely people who clearly love their jobs tended to us in a manner that was spot on. With care and friendliness that you don’t often feel you need to comment on. Nothing was too much trouble. Also loved the playlist too. Great vibe, good people and I have to say is now imo, the best vegan roast in Brighton. Shout out to the chef the unsung hero. We will be back soon for more rapturous delights. Don’t go changing!

Absolutely lovely pub. Excellent cosy vibes by the fire in winter too. All veggie/vegan and the roast is excellent (vegan yorkship pud!!). And the staff are wonderful - Cyd is a star.

It was such a great roast! I had the chestnut and cashew wellington and full trimmings and a delicious Yorkshire pudding. Delicious!

Fantastic food, great service. Staff were so friendly and lovely, the mulled wine was a great decision and the general vibe was warming and inclusive. Would highly recommend for a Sunday roast, even if you're not vegan.

The best vegetarian Sunday roast I have ever eaten. Absolutely delicious. Really nice vibe - lots and of room so you can find a quiet corner too. Fantastic service. Special mention to Cyd who was the perfect host. I highly recommend you try this place.

Friendly service and nice atmosphere

Just passing by for catching my train and i had plenty of time so popped in for a punt. It was bit quiet so plenty of seats for us. Nice option for keg beer as i love it. Nice atmosphere through and good friendly service. Hope I’ll be back again when in Brighton.

Great glossy pics of menu offerings including "some kind of mushroom dish" which dosn't look at all appealing! perhaps it's just a side order for a disillusioned Vegan or poorly snapped pic?DUCK SOUP is off the menu+ fountainhead (may have) changed name???

Loved this place for years. Bar staff now so arrogant and disinterested. Don’t even bother to say thanks. Lots of other lovely Brighton places. Avoid this one.

Three of us went to the Fountain Head for a (vegan) Sunday roast recently, and they were fantastic! We had the steak and ale and the wellington options, and they were all really beautifully presented, absolutely delicious, with fab yorkies and veg too. The vibe is great there - highly recommend!!!

I just spent the most wonderful time at the FountainHead. Best service ever- the bartender was caller Fleur and was very helpful and accommodating. I would highly recommend this venue. Great atmosphere, great staff.

Been in brighton two years, and im yet to find a place as welcoming, warm, and light feeling as this!! No brazen overload of obnoxious lights and music, a good sit down to appreciate your time and company :)

I used to frequent this pub years ago. I thought it had a nice decor previously with the wood effect. I think the pub was done an injustice with the interior design makeover that it received from the Interior Design Masters programme... Really tatty now.

Great little pub and brilliant seating outside. We only had a coffee and only stayed outside but very pleasant ☺️

Bobby & Merle are both warm and friendly bartenders that make it a great atmosphere. Highly recommend the Halloumi and hummus small plate! Plus, the music is always good.

Popped in just after opening time and ordered the beer battered halloumie and a pint. Found myself a table in a nook. Service was friendly and the food was fantastic. Recommended.

Lovely refurb of this huge pub. We visited after my daughter brilliantly ran the Brighton Half Marathon. We did not know it was a vegetarian only, menu - however as there were 2 veggies in our party, so not a problem. The problem though, was the food. My daughter's boyfriend ordered the Wellington which he said was ok, however the rest of us ordered the 'Shepherds Pie', which could only be described as a SLOP of lentils with a barely visible sweet potato (or something) on the top and served (unbelievably) in a canteen style coffee cup no crispy topping just swilling in gravy in the tiny cup! The roast potatoes were not crispy either.... Everything (apart from the Yorkshire pudding) was soft with no texture to the meal at all. Don't get us started on the toilets - they need a jolly good deep clean. On the plus side, the staff are very friendly and there was a good vibe in this vast pub, with all the Marathon attendees. We eat out a lot and I'm sorry to say that we will not be returning as there needs to be serious attention to detail to food prep presentation and the toilet areas.

We came for a roast and it was freaking delicious! We didn’t have to wait long at all everyone was super polite and welcoming! We shall not hesitate to return !

Perfect vibe to catch some restbite from Brightons ice cold wind. Spacious, comfy seating. Great tunes. And the bar staff - Louis (?) and Bobby are probably the friendliest barmen in Sussex. Super welcoming and friendly, funny and considerate. 10/10 would come again.

Excellent food (Sunday roast - Shep pie and Wellington) with very healthy portions and a good kids option. Service and atmosphere perfect for a quiet family visit.

Amazing vegan roast! Meat eaters, don’t be put off!

This central Brighton pub is the place to head for. It stands out amongst all of the many central Brighton options. It’s buzzing, clean, well kept, cozy with a widely stocked bar and a perfect food menu. The decor is tasteful and fresh and there are wood burning stoves which were perfect on this cold winters day. We were there from 2pm and it was busy! What we were impressed by was the friendly and more than efficient chap whom was running the whole place. He was like a machine making sure no-one waited at the bar, the tables were cleared and the fires were kept alive. Nothing was too much trouble and done with a smile and chatter considering his many demands. Hat off to him… a true asset to the place.

Absolutely love coming here for their DELICIOUS vegan roast dinners on a Sunday. Honestly these roasts are the best vegan roast dinners I've ever tried (& I've tried a lot!) Every part of the dinner i.e. veg, potatoes, main etc always has such intense taste/flavour I don't know how the chef does it - incredible. The staff are consistently friendly & accommodating. Specific shout out to Flear & Bobby who are just so pleasant & lovely! Always a great atmosphere in the pub, dog friendly (yay!) Highly recommend visiting here!

We both enjoyed the Sunday chestnut mushroom wellington roast, especially as I’m not vegetarian. Plenty of veg and all really tasty. Lovely Olivia looked after us well. It was a pleasure to eat here and wish we’d had time to stay longer.

Was in town for a couple of weeks and this pub quickly became my go to spot, great beer and very friendly staff (Lily was my fav barkeep). The entire team was quite welcoming and friendly. They also have a great rotation of talented and interesting DJs Overall great pub.

As a frequent customer, the atmosphere is pleasant and the service is exemplar. The bar staff always give good recommendations, namely Josh who made me a good espresso martini the other night. However, they did remove the vegan pizzas from the menu.

Note! The kitchen doesn't work every day. Check before going. The atmosphere is just between chill and classy, with tasteful decoration and a dog-friendly policy. Mulled wine, mulled cider, and other cider options are all among the best you'll find around Brighton.

Love this place. It recently appeared on TV for a refurb, and it definitely has a unique style. The beer is always great ( and cask available 🎉). Great atmosphere and nice surroundings. I don't think I have ever not found a table, which is strange considering how popular it is

Went here for the vegan roast and it was the best roast I've had in Brighton. The mushroom wellington was incredible, potatoes were crispy, and it's always a huge bonus to get a vegan Yorkshire pudding. Great attention to detail and generous portions. The deep fried oreos were delicious- similar to churros and a good amount for the price. Staff were lovely and professional, and the alt 90s music was on point. 10/10 🙌

Don’t go in expecting that they will honour drinks on the online menu. We ordered a cocktail that was (and I still is…) present on the online menu, but was then charged £18 for it - not being told the price until I was tapping my card. I asked why the price was so high and was told “it’s because it’s not on our menu, so I needed to price up the individual components separately”, followed by “yeah I probably should have told you, sorry”. I said that it was on the menu online but apparently that doesn’t matter?? Barely apologetic, terrible service. Addition: Now I’ve had a response indicating that my review is misleading as the £18 was for 1 cocktail and 1 pint.. wrong. In total I was charged just short of £24 for both drinks. I was also NEVER told that it is not on the menu until I complained. Appalling response from the venue - train your staff properly.

Very friendly staff & a good selection of beers Only 1 TV & not a sports oriented pub but that said the TV is large & a nice atmosphere. You could reserve a table right in front of TV if you wanted to ensure you get a good view.

Me, my partner and a few pals had been on a little beer crawl and decided to pop into the Fountain Head. Love the look of the place. It was a nice sunny day so we sat outside. It was strangely quiet but we had a nice - and fairly priced - few beers. I am sure it was probably just a quiet day and I'm sure this place is usually booming as the lady who served me was friendly and welcoming. We will visit again. Thanks for a nice time.

We stopped by the Fountain Head for early afternoon drinks on Saturday & were the first people in there. Really nice laid back atmosphere, great music & attentive bar staff. It was lovely for a while & then a number of families turned up with noisy small children. The running around the tables (by the small children) was not very conducive to a nice relaxing drink, so it was time to go. Great pub though.

Came for lunch last Friday , they do small plates, 3 for £16. We had the chorizo in red wine and red onion reduction. The Halloumi fries and the salt and pepper squid. All tasty and good portions . Great service to

This is a really cosy pub, and I love the atmosphere. Food was also excellent. I thought the drinks were reasonably priced. My only comment was that a couple of the staff at the beginning were a little abrupt/frosty. But they did seem to cheer up a bit so maybe something had just happened. Either way great pub in Brighton.

Love the pub. Will certainly go back again. The Interior Design Master’s team from the TV show have done a great job especially the bar which looks amazing. Great place to get some Gelato. Called in on way home, unattentive staff, poor products, G&T served in a basic glass. No coffee. The gents toilets were grim. Check out the slime in the Dyson hand dryer. Dozens of better pubs to choose from.

Great atmosphere shame there were no real ales but still well worth a visit

Noisy and the wasn't great for me. However, it was on a Saturday bank holiday. One of the staff members told me off for using the wrong side of the bar. I had to remind myself that I was a paying customer. But if you like pubs that have been on TV, then go for it. We won't rush to go back.
