3rd Avenue in Brighton and Hove

My first negative review on Google. Visited on a Sunday, was greeted warmly by one of the waitresses; and since I was travelling alone, decided to make this my base, so went in every day at different times, always with the same wonderful waitress. On my final day, Sunday early afternoon, my usual waitress isn't there; no acknowledgement from any waiting staff (at this point I've been there every day at different times for 6 days straight). Fifteen minutes later, I'm finally acknowledged. (It was 10am when I arrived, place was not busy). I ordered a tea, and was planning on having lunch once I'd finish working on my laptop. Less than five minutes before I finish working for the day, suddenly, a waiter appears and asks me whether I'll be ordering any food, and If I I can put my laptop away because they're trying to create an "atmosphere." I felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman when she gets kicked out of the boutique. I took my laptop and trotted off to Oeuf Cafe, just 5 mins down the road, had lunch in their lovely garden with my laptop.

A friend and I went for brunch/breakfast here on a sunny Saturday morning. The food at 3rd Avenue was good. We has freshly squeezed orange juice which was so fresh and yummy. I had the full english which was good and you could tell that it was made with really good quality ingredients and the eggs were perfectly done. We had some pastries to take away afterwards which were excellent. I can really recommend the Pain au Chocolat with almond buttercream. A little bit pricey though but nice for a luxury breakfast although some things make the experience feel a little cheap such as the annoying sachets of sauce and the lack of working soap dispensers in the toilets. Overall would probably recommend to a friend and would definitely return for more pastries/cakes!

This place is not cheap but it is superb value. They deliver in both service and quality in everything they do. A really great place and I’m so happy that they have survived the storm and are still there for the residents of Hove. I would recommend the Mirlo, the New Zealand Sauvignon blanc, the scallop starter was just delicious, great steak and the cheese and biscuits were like nothing you would ever get in a supermarketThe staff are really nice.Go. You won’t regret it xx

Oh dear! How unwelcome we were made to feel! Had it not been teeming it down with rain and the delicious looking cakes we would have walked out. Four members of staff behind the counter, not one of them looked up to acknowledge us! We stood awkwardly for a good while before trying to get somebodies attention - not an easy task! We were sort of pointed to a table and eventually our order was taken. Lovely coffee & cakes though! Beautiful surroundings. Awful customer service. It wasn’t just us to be treated this way - other customers were treated the same way.

We came for dinner the night before all restaurants had to shut again for lockdown and the staff were really helpful in us adding an additional friend at the last minute. The food was excellent and generous portions and the service was lovely! Thank you. We are booked in again next week.

Everything was perfect. Between us we ordered pork, chicken and lamb roasts and they were all fabulous, not one criticism crispy potatoes, cauliflower cheese, great Yorkshire’s meat and vegetables. Our waiter was lovely too and wonderful with the children. Very highly recommended.

My friend & I arrived separately for Sunday lunch & I was told she had not arrived, so I could wait until she did. She was already seated which eventually I was told. Table service was pleasant but we were in the restaurant for an hour before our food arrived, despite my asking if there was a problem and the restaurant not being very busy. We had a very acceptable roast lunch but as a vegetarian I would expect potatoes not roast in Duck fat and vegetarian gravy. We ate on the terrace but due to the cold asked to go inside for coffee and taken to an area of the restaurant where another waiter told us we could not just have coffee, only eat, but eventually were allowed to remain as the area was empty. We'd asked for a cruet when eating outside, told they were not in use due to Covid restrictions, but inside saw cruets on every table. This restaurant is attractive, with a relaxed and informally sophisticated atmosphere but the service is ridiculously poor. Was that due to us being two elderly women? I do hope not, but we won't eat there again to find out.

By far the WORST restaurant I have ever been in and I’m not one for exaggerating. Table booked for 8pm. Ordered drinks and starters 3 times with different waiters/waitresses to which nobody knew we had ordered. Drinks were ONE HOUR late. The food arrived on our table at 9:30 so 1hr 30mins late and to top it off the food was freezing cold and not even what were ordered. Then to be told that half the food we ordered they had ran out after waiting. By this point I refused to pay for any thing snd simply walked out. I will never return and I strongly urge any body else to think carefully before going here too. Not the evening I was hoping for and it’s the first time out since places have re-opened. Spoilt my night completely.

We dined on the outside cosy terrace due to covid resrictions- the area was well lit, with heaters and beautifully decorated and maintained with appropriate music levels. The waiting staff were friendly, accommodating and eager to help. Our main server Sandra was exceptional , giving good recommendations and a warm efficient service. We ordered a number of starters to share, and each ordered a main course, and the food was simply amazing, full of flavours and hot on a cold spring evening on the terrace. During the evening, we ordered an array of innovative and well presented cocktails, and the skill level and combinations blew us away. In normal times the restaurant also has an upmarket after hours club which we peaked into and thoroughly excited to try in the coming future. The overall experience was amazing, and totally recommend this restaurant and bar, and in addition the amazing pastries they bake on site and sell fresh each day, which we have heard is becoming a local institution.

Visited this place yesterday afternoon, along with a few family members, was seated quickly, Service was very slow, had to wait around 20 mins for drinks, No kids menu available my daughter ended up eating chips. My husband ordered a plain burger, this was brought to the table with the other meals with everything included! waiter took back the burger, no apology at all. We finished ours meals when the burger came out no chips included. The bill came another glass of wine was added to the bill and a service change, I refused to pay this due to the food situation, Waiter took the bill and walked away, When he brought it back to the table we advised we didn't pay the service because of the service it was clearly because of the food. Waiter said that he wouldn't be getting any tip now and was very annoyed. walked away again. I ended up paying at the main desk. Awful

love the place and their amazing breakfast, must say love their coffee - a must if you want a nice ambience and delicious food. They now do pastries - LOVE THEM! Definitely recommend - lovelly terrace as well, classy and chic, eggs benedict are fantastic Trying dinner next time! Thank you

So far we have only had drinks here early evening but have really enjoyed it. Reasonable wines, sun and pleasant and efficient staff, what's not to like ?! Will eat soon I think.

Would love to rate the food and drinks, unfortunately wasn't able to try any...Noticed this place on the way back home and as both my husband and myself were a little cold (due to being on scooters) we decided to stop there to have something hot to drink (and maybe some light food). It was around 9pm but because there were people there still drinking and dining I went in and asked if they are still serving and can we have a table. We were told to sit at a very specific table. We have parked our scooters in such way they weren't obstructing anyones way. We have been given drinks menu almost right away and thats about it. We have been waiting for someone to come and take our order. In the meantime another table was joined by an additional female guest and surprisingly she was served almost instantly while we were still waiting for someone to take our orders. After a very long wait - where servers didn't even bother coming out we decided to leave. We took our belongings and scooters and went. By the point we reached the crossing (literally yards away) I turned around and noticed server immediately appearing to collect the menu from our table. It looks like we were deliberately ignored and not served. Not a treatment I would want to receive and we will definitely won't be giving it a second chance. They advertise themselves as "Elegant dining in Hove" guess we weren't elegant enough to be served.

Myself and my boyfriend went tonight 16th April for my 21st birthday. The restaurant was busy and of course it was the first Friday after lockdown so understandably the service was a little slow. Nonetheless the staff were fantastic. Our main waitress Myda showed a clear passion for customer service and did everything she could to make sure everyone was happy and enjoying themselves. She is a true asset to their team. The food was also absolutely gorgeous, we both had fillet steak which I must say was the best I've ever eaten. Definitely will be back again!

Booked this restaurant last minute for a Christmas Day luncheon. Had no previous knowledge of this restaurant and no great expectations. What a fantastic surprise to find myself eating one of the best Christmas dinners I’ve ever had with such attentive professional and friendly service. The overall ambience and mood was warm and relaxed with such attention to detail. There is nothing about this place I can fault it was a magical experience and a meal of true perfection. Every dish was just delicious and generous portions with excellent presentation. Many thanks to the wonderful staff and chefs who made all this possible. Will definitely be returning in the coming year.

Lots of cakes to choice from however the menu is limited for brunch items only. Not kid friendly, but dog friendly. Food was punctual and tasty however it is a bit pricey .

What can I say? This place is completely transformed. I’m in love with the trees and also the fresh cakes and pastries. My new favourite place!

We originally booked for dinner but on arrival it took 20 minutes before we were asked what we'd like to drink and this was only after getting a waiter's attention.The place was empty so I really don't understand how this was allowed. The waiter didn't know what we meant when we asked for a bottle of Picpoul and whilst I don't expect them to memorize the entire menu a small amount knowledge would help. We decided to eat elsewhere and just wanted coffees before we left. We watched them be made and then the barista leave them on the machine. When we chased up a waiter found them at the machine and decided to serve them when already cold and terrible which isn't great when it seems to predominantly be a coffee and cake type venue. A real shame as a great spot and nice decor but it seems the place doesn't know what it wants to be and the service was so poor we wouldn't return when there's so many other great places in Hove with superb staff.

Best time would highly recommend! Girls birthday was a great venue!! Amazing cocktail menu and couldn’t ask for much more

Was a amazing meal and the service was perfect. We was very lucky to have Myda as our waitress. She was very attentive, caring and friendly and made sure all our needs were met. Highly recommend.

Once we got seated, we have been asked fairly frequently for orders for drinks. Very friendly staff and a nice place to just have few drinks or a meal.

Came with high expectations - service was terrible. Took a long time to flag down a waiter and after finally ordering food took well over an hour for brunch to appear.The muffins seemed cheap and stale and the pancakes were soaked and without the clotted cream. Very disappointed after a long wait. Asked to speak to a manager numerous times who never appeared. Will never return which is unfortunate as the restaurant has such beautiful decor.

Been to Third Avenue for at least 10 times (breakfast, lunch and dinner) since its makeover. But dismal service is now the norm. So what I have encountered so far: every time I was there, at least half of the menus had run out! Went for dinner once (with reservation - so they knew we were there beforehand) and were given the menus. When we wanted to order about 10 later (Not much to choose as most had run out), were told kitchen had closed! So you gave us menus knowing kitchen was closing and said nothing? Once waited for about 30 min only to have main course arriving before starters and nobody had a clue. I have seen regulars storming out without food as wait was too long and their guests had trains to catch. Today took the biscuit - went there for tea and asked if their terrace was opened and was told yes. Went out to find ALL chairs and tables wet. Cutlery and tea cups were not collected. Had to dry a chair myself. Then waited for 25 min yet nobody bothered to come out to serve. Yet at least 3 waiters with nothing to do could see me. My complaint to the supervisor on leaving perhaps explained - he did not see anything wrong with a customer sitting on uncleared and wet terrace for almost half an hour. Instead tried to implied i didn’t know how it works ie should have ordered at the counter. That certainly was not the case the last 3 times I was there for tea. Nowhere did it say it’s self service on terrace now, and why didn’t anybody tell me on entrance if it’s changed? And his total lack of any customer skills ... Perhaps my experience is not a one-off hence you can walk in to get tables any time. But enough is enough for me, as many others have decided never to return!

Attached to this restaurant is a coffee shop with outstanding cakes and pastries and filled breads Amazing as all made on the premises. By clearly a very talented pastry chef For quality cakes that a top London hotel could not beat It’s the place to head for

Covid doesn't seem to exist in 3rd Ave world. I didn't see any hand sanitiser, no one took our T&T details, no entry/exit or safe or one way systems set up and whilst we were there a large group were shown to a table close to us (despite lots of tables free) which meant about 8 people passing close by (close as in squeezing behind my chair whilst chatting and laughing all over me). There was some table service but they were quite happy for you to come up to the bar. Staff not wearing masks and they were collecting empties at the same time as serving fresh drinks between different tables. Prices are more than average. Outdoor seats were wet from the rain and indoor seating too close together for these times. Won't be coming back.

My family and I visited this beautiful and chilled cafe and indulged on the delicious banana pancakes and eggs on toast! Both we’re delicious and the staff were so lovely! Dog friendly too! Go and see for yourself.

Wonderful selection of sweet & savory pastries. I opted of something savory and was amazed! Good coffee accompanied by great decor, really picked up a California beach vibe.....I could have been on set in the beach house of 'Frankie and Grace'. Tasteful and soothing accents with modern rustic appeal.The chef Gio is very talented and passionate. I feel like he will take this place far. He certainly 'blown me away'

I thought the food was lovely, the service was prompt and the cocktails were superb. The lemongrass cocktail in particular was great. One of the nicest meals out I've had in ages.

Been a long time coming for Hove to have such a stylish and thought out cafe/restaurant. Since it has opened we have had really nice breakfasts, cakes and pastries and coffees.Friendly staff and a massive improvement on what was here before. Will definitely be back.

We had an excellent meal here on Saturday evening so decided to visit again with friends on Wednesday evening to take advantage of the Eat in to Help Out scheme. We were not disappointed. The restaurant was very busy and all the waiting staff were working flat out and were very attentive to us. Yes, we had to wait between courses but not too long, and it meant we had more time to chat with our friends, not rushed like we have been in some other eateries. The food was excellent, not a huge amount of choice but plenty for us. The coffee shop next to the restaurant looks promising and we’re planning to go there for breakfast soon. From our two excellent experiences I would definitely recommend this place.

I was recommended 3rd Avenue by a work colleague and I have to say I won’t be going back. The food was actually really nice, but way overpriced. We were missing half of the food we ordered which never appeared!!! Service was shocking, we waited an hour after we ordered our food, no one communicated and no apology offered when if eventually arrived. I complained and still no apology. Needless to say we didn’t bother ordering dessert and waiting another hour! Very poor!l would not recommend

Me and my girlfriend decided to treat ourselves to a date night out, making use of the Eat Out to Help Out scheme! We decided to go for Third Avenue as it had recently been done up, looks a lot more bright and welcoming and heard good things from friends. Overall, we had a very lovely evening the staff were very attentive and helpful (as I often can’t decide what I want so like to get an opinion!) and the food was excellent! You pay for what you get in here, top class food and service. Will be back again soon!

I dont usually leave reviews, especially bad ones. Reserved this place with a few friends for a nice evening dinner. Ordered our food at 7.30pm, starters came about an hour and a half later. Not entirely sure why it takes them so long to prepare bread and butter with a few salads but never mind...after all Covid is to blame for everything right? Restaurant was pretty much empty as it was a Wednesday night... 3 hours later still no food. We complained a few times (politely) and I must say the general staff took it on the chin and tried to help as much as possible with a round of free drinks, however ultimately some kind of catasrohpie must have happened in the kitchen (we've all watched hells kitchen I'm sure). Anyway another hour passes and food finally arrives...STONE COLD and mushy! We all agreed to just leave at this point! Shame on the owner who refused to speak to us! Night ended in a cheap and cheerful McDonald's that was more tasty than whats meant to be a top notch restaurant with each dish costing on average £15! Disgraceful!

Arrived at 7:30pm for a bridal party. No food till 10:30pm. Cold food, incomplete orders and a wait of 45 minutes for a Diet Coke. Owner refused to come out at speak to us although manager was great we couldn’t bring ourselves to pay for anything but the drinks. Bridal party ruined. I would never advise going there.

This was one of our worst experiences. Bridal party ruined. Arrived at 7:30, no food till 10:30pm. Whilst manager was great, owner refused to come out and speak to us. Not what we expected - even with Covid taken into account, everyone in the restaurant managed to eat, pay and we were still waiting for a main meal 4 hours later.Not going back.

Just had a lovely lunch for our anniversary and was provided fantastic service by Dane - apologies if that is spelt incorrect. We have been fortunate to eat and be served at some amazing restaurants in the world and had not experienced better service and etiquette to what Dane provided. He could not have provided better service! Thankyou very much!

Me and my girlfriend went to 3rd Avenue on Valentine and this big guy, but charming guy greeted us and took us to our table and we had a wonderful table right at the end of the Grill Room. Everything from deco to food and service was wonderful. I like to thank the big man and all staff at 3rd for looking after us.We will be back.

We went there with a large family group with two kids and had a Sunday meal. Each of us enjoyed the quality great tasting food, very attentive friendly service in a lovely relaxed atmosphere. We are definitely going back and highly reccomend to others.

Our Valentine's Day dinner at this restaurant was absolutely atrocious from start to end. The food took an inordinate amount of time to arrive and the waiters repeatedly brought over the wrong food for us for each course. Especially considering there was a limited set menu and my partner and I both ordered the same meals, it was utterly ridiculous that the waiters got our order wrong this many times. After waiting nearly two hours for our rare steak mains, they were both very well done with a tiny spoonful of peppercorn sauce, and no steak knife or even salt & pepper on the table. Given that it was now past 10pm, having to send my dinner back as it was incorrect was utterly unacceptable. I would like to think that if I'm paying nearly £40 for my dinner that I would be provided with correctly cooked steak. By the time dessert had arrived (after repeatedly being offered the wrong dishes, once again) we both just wanted to leave. We were told the poor service was due to the restaurant being busy, but it was only about two thirds full. If a restaurant cannot provide basic level service (i.e. providing the correct food/cooking meat correctly) when it isn't even at full capacity then there is something seriously wrong. We could hear numerous other couples throughout the restaurant were complaining over the course of the evening, so it was evident that no one was happy with the service provided. The bill was given to us incorrectly at the end of the meal, as our deposit had not been taken off the full amount. Frankly, I resented paying for any of it as it was all so atrocious, and I will certainly not be returning or recommending this establishment to anyone else.

Lovely place, very nice decoration, went there for dinner on sat night and decided to stay for the nightclub as the atmosphere was great! Good food and great service!

I am so very disappointed, after raving about third avenue I went there Friday night for valentines, not only did we pay a deposit that wasn’t taken off of the bill at the end, we waited ages for our order to be taken, then we waited over an hour between start and main, by this point we was starving! When we asked how long our mains were going to be we was rudely told it’s busy (the restaurant was not full) when the mains finally arrived the steak was over cooked and fatty and the chips were over done. Very disappointed with the quality of food and service. I don’t mind paying those prices if the quality is there but it was extremely over priced for what it was and by this point had ruined my evening and appetite, desserts tasted awful and it was 10 pm when they arrived. Return visit to this establishment. Just as good as the first time. Tried the Pork Belly with Creamed potato and was delicious. Met the owner Ben and he is so friendly and welcoming, made us feel at home here. So highly recommend.

Went here for dinner for Valentine’s Day and it was truly amazing! Can defiantly recommend Third Avenue

Valentines meals, service was slow, food was awful, cost a fortune, had better food in a greasy soon, avoid if possible

This was our first visit for lunch. We really liked the decoration of the restaurant, very plush and we were lucky enough to have picked a quieter day for lunch and were shown to a very comfortable booth table which allowed the two of us to spread out and relax. Service is lovely and friendly, efficient and our waiter was very knowledgable about all dishes (sadly getting rarer in our experience). The menu is very tempting, and incredibly reasonably priced, but as it was we both opted for the fish & chips but started with the ham hock pate and the mackerel both of which were very tasty. We washed our lunch down with a lovely bottle of Picpoul and were too full for the incredibly decadent sounding desserts. Maybe next time.

It was my first time in there. Ambiance was nice, waitress was very kind and professional . I ate fish and it was cooked nicely. It’s good restaurant for meeting.

Had a table booked for 8:30. Upon arrive the waiter (Dane) knew me by name, seated us and made us feel really welcome. The service he gave was the best I’ve experienced in Hove. The quality of food and even the portions sizes were perfect. We will be definitely returning and would recommend the restaurant.

Nice surroundings and staff however the timings for a group party were all wrong, many had their mains and had to wait 10-15 minutes for the accompanying veg to go with the meal. Other guests at my table their food arrived cold. The food was reasonable BUT as a two course meal of a falafel burger and very few chips and chocolate trifle for dessert to be charged £29 +£3.95 service charge was excessive and not value for money, at all. If you like reasonable food at extortionate prices then this is your place.

We booked 3rd avenue for Christmas dinner, after finding out it's sister chain in Brighton was closed, and were not disappointed at all!

Last week my friend organised my Birthday dinner and I need to say that it was one of the best meal I've ever had in Brighton! Food was fantastic! Staff even prepared surprice for me when they heard that it's my B-day. Extremely friendly people and great quality of food made this evening unforgetable.

We visited 2 November 2019 lunchtime. I received a roasted chicken which was in fact precooked (ASDA style precooked chicken) that had been microwaved. It had no taste there was no input from on site chef whatsoever.

Absolutely fantastic service, all staff were very helpful - clean and great decor will definitely be re visiting - great function area.

If you are ever looking for a place where you can enjoy the widest array of drinks from your favourite cocktails (irrespective of what it could be) to an incredible steak prepared by Mario or the amazing Sushi chef Arnie, you rest assured to have an unforgettable experience. The space is so tastefully designed without being intimidating, the prices are exceptionally affordable and the staff from the bar manager Ollie, to the other manager Lars to the floor staff Katarina make this institution unforgettable!

Had a fab meal and drinks at 3rd Avenue. It’s a little pricey but you certainly get what you pay for: gorgeous food and good sized portions. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful place, perfect place for dinner in Hove with my girlfriend. Massive thank you to my waiter Lars, who also helped us with directions to pubs nearby. Cocktails were perfect too, and a great wine list.

I had to try - after all those great reviews - but came away very disappointed. The food and wine selection was 'OK', but the service (and quantity of staff) was over-kill for a 'burger' lunch. The bill was a shocker and I felt that I was being charged to cover the over-staffing and the decor, not the food and wine.

Great selection of dishes, and very good vegetarian choices. My friend had lamb, I had gnocchi with Jerusalem artichoke. We were very happy with our choices. The servers were prompt, efficient and knowledgeable.

Me and my girlfriend visited Third Avenue last week. We ordered 2 fillet steak and they were cooked to perfection. We also recommend to order the asparagus as starter. Afterwards we had some cocktails in the bar. Who ever did the decor of the entire place is a genious.

Lovely food, we had seafood tempura and sushi and it was superb. The staff is very competent and lovely. Very nice place with a cosy atmosphere. Highly recommendable. A must if you are around.

Booked for a Birthday meal online and received the acceptance. Got to the day and received a call saying that ‘whoever accepted the booked should never have done so as they are closed for maintenance’. Offered nothing until I explained the occasion and disappointment. Suggested we visit the sister restaurant in Brighton and they would pay for a taxi. We didn’t want to do this as have been there for drinks and the service was poor.

Love the place, love the staff.. the food, everything,..if you are around... you can't miss it. Highly recommend. Also best terrace.

Came to visit for Mother’s Day - unfortunately roast was a bit cold and had to send back, but immediately was resolved and our waitress Natalia was wonderful. Really helpful and polite and apologetic. I had the steak and some cocktails which were fantastic. I think it was just very busy (which is always a good sign) so would definitely visit again - and service was exceptional! Thank you for a lovely mother’s day!

It was a bit quiet for a Saturday afternoon but the staff were attentive and the food was quite delicious. Prices were reasonable too. I would like to return when its more lively and the ambience is at its best.

We went here for mothers day/my sisters 21st birthday. The sushi was tasty, but our main course took 2 hours to arrive as it was a busy Sunday. The Korean chicken dish not very good covered in some salty sauce with no courgettes. But the main worry was the cod and muscles - my sister chose this and the cod was half raw and the muscles had to be spat out as they smelt really bad and tasted horrible. She wasn't ill from them but she didn't eat many. They did take this meal off our bill. But we wont be going back here again, very disappointing...

We took mum here for Mother’s Day (been looking for an excuse to go for ages). Even though they were busy the service was good, and the food was better than we had hoped. The atmosphere and trendy style made our lunch very memorable. Thank you.

Came for a family lunch, excellent food and the staff were amazingly friendly and really helpful. Great steaks, chicken kaarage starter was especially good too.

Was recommended this restaurant and club by a friend who lives in the area. Food is delicious and the ambiance is fantastic. Club downstairs is bijou and mainly full of girls, but maybe it was just that particular night. I would definitely return to this restaurant when I’m in the area next.

Came here this evening for our anniversary took us a long time to decide on a place to go to! Got here and it was lovely food was amazing really recommend the tuna to start! But as we finished our mains and got the desert menu nobody came back to us for a long time, then went to ask if we can order they said one moment, waited nobody came back! Then called someone over again and just asked for the bill again another long wait, so went up to the tills and asked for it again got it really quick then! Rather disappointing ending cocktails were good apart from the coconut and pineapple fizz which literally tastes like puke! Dunno if to come back.

Me and a group of girls (10 in total) went for a birthday dinner here and the service, food and cocktails were great! We all had such a great time and nice to have the DJ start after 10pm so we could enjoy a few more drinks and dance!! I will certainly be coming back and thank you soooo much to our waitress Reem, she couldn't have been more helpful and kind. They even made a surprise birthday desert for our friend (vegan also which was appreciated!) I am looking forward to visiting again very soon - thanks again! :) xxx

Made a reservation again, because the place looks really nice and stylish and our experience here is always great. We ordered some steaks and they were perfectly cooked! Also ordered the yuzu dessert and it is really tasty. Defiantly gonna come back again!!

Visited in December 2018 to celebrate an anniversary with my wife. Very disappointing experience all-round with poor overpriced food. Men's room had vomit on the floor. Food was cold and steak was poorly cooked and very over priced. Will not bother visiting again as there are plenty of restaurants locally and in London with much better food, environment and value for money.

Recently visited here for dinner with friends and had a wonderful evening. The food was delicious. I would recommend the fillet steak, so tasty and a really decent portion size. The wine list had great variety and the service was friendly and smooth. All rounded off with some great cocktails in the bar afterwards and the DJ made for a great atmosphere. We will be back soon!

Had amazing sushi at 3rd avenue. I went on a Sunday with a group of friends and sat in the bar part of the venue and ordered plates of sushi and it really surprised me how amazing the sushi was. Great place to socialize

Me and a couple of my friends ordered few starters and selection of sushi, it was more than enough for everyone and it was sooo tasty! Perfect light meal to share, not too expensive and stuff was very helpful and friendly. We will definitely come back!

Found starters very tasty with friendly staff, restaurant very quite for a lunch service perhaps being 1.00pm?? Mains came out and were awful pork belly with no sauce or gravy and potatoes very greasy so meal was dry could only eat half of it, burgers small dry and tasteless, steak sandwich was well done which is a shame as all the best minute steak sandwiches we’ve had are tender and a medium rare. also sandwich was cold when served. Asked if we wanted any sauces etc halfway through meal and two of us had finished. Found pricing very high for this standard of food. Don’t mind paying more if the quality is there unfortunately it wasn’t.

Had a very expensive meal, which was basically not very good. Starter of tasteless belly pork, followed by a dry burger and over cooked chips. £65 including drinks. Would not go back...

Came here with a few friends for a birthday last week and we loved it! The staff were SO friendly, and the food tasted amazing. Service was a little slow but it was a really busy Saturday evening and we just drank so we didn’t mind! Really enjoyed it all and the decor in this place is lovely!

Went here for night out with friends, what an amazing value for steak and a great choice of wine. Staff were friendly and attentive and then we had great fun in the bar with lots of friendly people.

We had the meat and cheese platters. They’re we’re supposed to be enough to share, they’re not. My sons burger was forgotten off the order and we waited 45 minutes after asking twice. Poor. No apology when it came time to pay the bill. No wonder the place was empty.

Me and my partner visited this beautiful venue on Saturday night arrived at 9pm, place was busy with a nice vibe in the restaurant and the bar, we shared the chicken karaage to start excellent and a very good portion for a starter, for mains my partner had a rib eye steak said it was the best she has ever tasted, I had the Korean chicken with fries and salad also excellent. I think next time I'll have to go for steak also, drinks menu good choice good prices, had a gin cocktail which was perfect high end quality for sure at 3rd avenue from the decor, food, drinks. PS try white mousse with mango sorbet :)

We had decided to treat ourselves to a Sunday lunch. We were welcomed and seated in the restaurant and asked for our drinks order. Our sparkling water arrived and we enquired which choices had they got today for a Sunday roast. The waiter informed us that there was none today as chef had decided to take them off the menu. There was also no Sushi either. Both these options were boldly advertised outside and in public view.

Popped in here for the first time the other day -

It was my first time at this resteraunt it was a Wednesday night, however we had booked our table well in advance so you expect the kitchen to be ready for the orders. I can not complain about the food however more than an hour wait between courses is not really expected in a bar / restaurant that is empty. Really disapointing and expect more from a place in hove.

I have to say was probably the best fish I have had in Brighton & Hove. Incredible Sushi followed by the tastiest Fish with grilled vegetables. The restaurant was pack but we were seated quickly and served promptly.

If a restaurant cannot cook a steak and a burger, to the liking of the customer, the owner should either change the chef or go into a different business.
