I use to eat here and certainly like to drink here as I live in west row . The food ambience and staff are always lovely but … I am coeliac ?? Yes and the gf menu is good and you always adapt this for people with dietary conditions or a medical issue . The issue I have is ridiculous today is that you sell no GF lager but want customers to eat a gf meal ?? I’m sorry but most pubs and restaurants sell many gf lagers today as there is so many available . I’m most upset that some pubs as tonight say 1. it’s not worth buying gf lagers as they don’t sell . 2 Nobody buys them 3 Our suppliers don’t sell GF lager First you need to buy them from anywhere and advertise they are available with GF meals that gf lagers are available . it tastes no different at all .. so get your staff educated and start meeting your customers needs ..

Pleasantly surprised. We hadn’t eaten here for years. We were staying at the Premier Inn so it was really convenient. We had prebooked but didn’t need to. The restaurant was very quiet. We had a drink each, a stater - one falafel and one wings and a main each - one fish cake and one pie with extra gravy! Food took a while to arrive but it was delicious when it did. Hot and tasty. The poached egg that came with the fish cake was perfect! Very highly recommended. Excellent value for money, especially in conjunction with a Bluelight card.

What a absolutely fantastic time we had. Great food served up by great staff. A mate and myself were staying a couple of miles away for work and we stumbled across this pub when nipping out for supplies. The menu looked great so we decided to eat here rather than at our hotel. I decided to do the 72 ounce steak challenge which I would never do again, not because the steak wasn’t delicious because it was but because I couldn’t move for about 15 hours😂. My mate had the burger which he said was great. You can tell a good pub when it’s full on a Wednesday evening and the atmosphere was spot on. If I’m ever in the area again I will be beck for sure.

We go regularly to the Bird in Hand at Beck Row. We go with different friends. We all love it. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is always good. It’s got a nice warmth about it. There plenty of car parking space. It’s got a lovely atmosphere. There is plenty of seating and is always nice and clean. We all love it.

Review of Christmas Club Meal. Arrived very busy ordered drinks from bar nice gin a bit slow with only one serving. Seated in the main restaurant where the carvery is situated. We had 4 large tables. Place settings nice and Christmas themed. The starters very nice liked the mini Camembert cheese the cranberry sauce a bit runny. Mains from are served from the carvery, meats were either beef, turkey. A fish and what looked like a vegetarian nut roast. Had Turkey it was nice and moist and tasty. Pigs in blanket good, roasted potatoes these were very over cooked dry and hardly edible, carrot and parsnips good, broccoli very hard nearly raw. Other vegetables very good. The contentious do or do you not have Yorkshire with Turkey, well I did again over cooked and kept warm also tasted very oily. Deserts I had the cheese and crackers, very good selection of cheeses, like the warm bread but the crackers were soft as having being left out to long or old stale. The other selections not to my taste as with most restaurants now consist of salted caramel or a variety of chocolate dish’s, cheese cake offered not my taste. Finished with very good mince pies and tea or coffee. Service good throughout. Overall worth the money best better if they sort the carvery over or undercooked items out.

My wife and I sometimes come here for lunch on Sunday or occasionally stop for dinner. The buffets (both cavery & chinese) offer a good selection and are well stocked. One of out favourite local eateries.

Absolutely awful experience. First (and probably last) time I'll ever visit Supposed to meet a colelague. Waited at front counter to be served. Manageress had her back to me for ages whilst chatting to a customer Eventually another server came forward Pretty busy but two tables free, one right by entrance and one by window. Asked if we could sit there Table was reserved for one hour hence so said we would vacate when the folks booking turned up. No not possible as computer couldn't handle table numbers. Siad I'm sure it would be fine Sat down and there was a little sign saying table booked from 1pm so please vacate 5 minutes beforehand. Thought to myself no issue then Then said Manageress turned up. Really rude and hostile from the get go. Leaned in, talked over me , stated she wouldn't serve me (twice). Talked over me, barked "listen" and when I said pardon then just proceeded to parrot her own take Having asked in the foyer to speak with the overall Manager, I was told there was actually another cafe area we could have gone to. The GM apologised although I still have the feeling nothing would be said to Restaurant Manageress Overall very disappointing and I would avoid going back on principle

Nice quaint pub, lovely lady serving. But sadly food very poor, sliced processed ham and 1 potato chopped up and deep fried as chips with fried eggs at a price of £6.50. Coffee £2.50 in a normal household mug that wasn't very clean. We won't be returning

One of the best spots in Newmarket town, the breakfast is the best in town without the doubt. Lovely pints in a great atmosphere. The pub has been recently fully refurbished but still has a lot of the key highlights from the old traditional pub which is incredibly nice. I highly recommend this place.
