I use to eat here and certainly like to drink here as I live in west row . The food ambience and staff are always lovely but … I am coeliac ?? Yes and the gf menu is good and you always adapt this for people with dietary conditions or a medical issue . The issue I have is ridiculous today is that you sell no GF lager but want customers to eat a gf meal ?? I’m sorry but most pubs and restaurants sell many gf lagers today as there is so many available . I’m most upset that some pubs as tonight say 1. it’s not worth buying gf lagers as they don’t sell . 2 Nobody buys them 3 Our suppliers don’t sell GF lager First you need to buy them from anywhere and advertise they are available with GF meals that gf lagers are available . it tastes no different at all .. so get your staff educated and start meeting your customers needs ..

We went for the Sunday lunch here as it was my father's birthday. We had to go to the bar to ask to be seated and were taken through to the back room. We were asked as we were sitting down if we were ready to order drinks, as we hadn't looked at the menu yet we asked for a minute. No one came back to take our order, after twenty minutes we had to flag down the bartender and she would only take our drinks order. We then had to flag down one of the waiters after waiting 45 minutes. In this time the table next to us got seated, had their order taken and their food served before we were over asked for our food order. When we asked the waitress about this and the wait time she was extremely rude to us and just dismissed that they were busy. The food was lovely and was the only redeeming factor but it should not be an hour from sitting down to receiving food. Incredibly disappointed in this visit.

Had a fabulous family meal at The Walnut Tree today. We were a party of 11. We had starters, mains & desserts all enjoyable, all perfectly cooked and presented. The waiting staff were attentive and the room was nice and warm and cosy with a log burner. I was well catered for as a vegetarian and our disabled family member had easy access. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and really recommend this little gem!

My husband and I visited here for our wedding anniversary. The food was exceptional especially the sea bass! The staff were friendly and allowed us to have a wonderful dining experience. We were fortunate enough to stay in one of the family rooms. The room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast before we left. Thank you The Walnut Tree staff for making our stay enjoyable and memorable. We will definitely be returning!

Stopped by for breakfast after walking the dogs this morning, in this glorious sunshine but cool outside at one of their covered tables. Imaginative options, variations on the Full English on offer as well as scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, but we chose the Trendy - (smashed and sliced avocado, perfectly poached eggs, roasted vine tomatoes and chorizo on toasted sourdough) and Bubble & Squeak (thick slices of grilled black pudding on chopped potato and cabbage cakes, poached eggs and roasted vine tomatoes) - both very generous and delightfully presented. Must go again.

The Walnut Tree is a fantastic pub that my family, friends and I have been visiting for many years. The service, food, and atmosphere are consistently great. I wanted to particularly thank everyone at the Walnut Tree for their service and kindness this past weekend. They accommodated, without any prior warning, 15-20 of my friends for food and drinks in their lovely bar area. All the food was fantastic, and the staff took it all in their stride. Everyone was really impressed, and my friends who were staying at the pub also said how delicious the breakfasts were and how comfortable and clean the rooms were. Thank you to all at the Walnut Tree!

Walnut Tree, what has happened to you? Ordered the ‘festive’ pie with mash. Pie was shop bought and small. Served with mashed potatoes (lumpy) and half bag green peas, runny gravy for £15. I can get better at Crumbs in Mildenhall for half the price. It was even served on the plate like a cafe! Have you seen the standards of other pub grub? You need to step up because going by how many people were in there eating for a pre-weekend evening, you seriously have a problem. Lower your prices if you can’t get a chef and fill the car park up again!

Fundamentally my favourite place to eat in Newmarket. If you're looking for a curated experience where the leadership team are incredibly detail orientated this is the place for you.

I thoroughly enjoy visiting the pantry when in Newmarket. I enjoy their breakfast and dinner options greatly. I really enjoy their baked goods. Service is always wonderful and it's a pleasure to go there. I look forward to going again. The eggs royale is my personal favourite. I'm not personally a fan of their coffee beans, so wouldn't recommend their coffee, they taste a tad burnt (similar to a Starbucks flavour or cortados new own roast). But the food is wonderful.

Pleasantly surprised. We hadn’t eaten here for years. We were staying at the Premier Inn so it was really convenient. We had prebooked but didn’t need to. The restaurant was very quiet. We had a drink each, a stater - one falafel and one wings and a main each - one fish cake and one pie with extra gravy! Food took a while to arrive but it was delicious when it did. Hot and tasty. The poached egg that came with the fish cake was perfect! Very highly recommended. Excellent value for money, especially in conjunction with a Bluelight card.
