We go regularly to the Bird in Hand at Beck Row. We go with different friends. We all love it. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is always good. It’s got a nice warmth about it. There plenty of car parking space. It’s got a lovely atmosphere. There is plenty of seating and is always nice and clean. We all love it.

Wendy was lovely made us feel welcomed . My sons 16th birthday and nothing was to much , the food was lovely child friendly will deffintly be going back

Really great honest pub food The food is always really hot and nicely presented and the staff are really friendly and just can't do enough for you. We love it here and it has become out go to place for a good value meal. Keep it up Bird in Hand!!

This is our second visit in 2 weeks, and now we have discovered it I am sure there will be plenty more. Nothing is too much trouble for the team, and the food was quick to arrive and very well cooked.

Came here Christmas Day after to meet up with family I haven’t seen for years. Firstly I’d like to say about the atmosphere. It didn’t look merry and jolly, you could tell a lot of people were getting disappointed with the waiting times and lack of service. Secondly the food was awful , I had the ham hock to start , the toast was stale and hard to the point you would need a JCB to get through it as it was rock hard. The mains I had sirloin steak, it was one of the worst and cheapest cuts of sirloin you could get , yes it was cooked to how I like it but there was so much grissle and sinue running through it , was barely edible , was like cutting and biting through a pair of doctor martins. Some of my family had the turkey , it was absolutely disgusting , roast potatoes were like charcoal , the veg was rock hard not even blanched , more like crudités, had only about one tbsp of gravy on the plate so had to ask for more, it was just an awful meal , wouldn’t even feed to the dogs, after we had all finished , one lady came to check on us and we said that we’re finished and she said she would come back to clear the plates. About an hour later. I put the plates on a different table and went into the kitchen myself to ask for desserts , witch again they were too Rich and the icecream was already melted. Very disappointing , being a restaurant manager I was very annoyed at the lack of customer service and I would be disgusted in myself if I was to ever give that level of service. And also being a chef my self there is no excuse whether the kitchen is understaffed or not , there should be a certain level consistency and quality but none there and considering it was all pre orderd it’s not rocket science , and to top it off my grandma had fallen over a bit of carpet by the main entrance , not once did they check on her to make sure she was alright or even right in the accident report book , witch may I add is a legal requirement if an injury takes place in a public work place. She now has a black hand. She can hardly walk today as both her kneecaps are swollen like balloons , and she’s been resting all day in bed as she now all batters and bruised. It’s not on and frankly I find it disgusting at the level of incompetence the place had. I woke up this morning with an upset stomach not feeling right. Will definitely not eat here again , thank you for ruining what was meant to be a special day.

Wow what can I say went for Xmas dinner today and never had a meal when every dish was just horrible we had a table of 8 and none of us enjoyed any of the dishes at all . The turkey dinner was dry and the ones that had this didn't eat it all .. the steak was the worst we have ever had it was the worst cuts 4 of us had steak and we all found it awful and extremely fatty , then waited over 45 mins for deserts to the point we throught they had forgotten us . The dishes was that bad we didn't brother staying for the final dish was pointless . To say how much this cost I would never go out for Christmas Dinner again . I can't even find the right words to say how much not one of us on our table enjoyed anything which they must have known as there was so much waste from our table I dont know what type of person was cooking today but there cooking must be terrible for all 8 of us to hate everything we ordered it was like the perosn cooking clearly wasnt good at it, then to top it off my mother fell coming into the pub down to a very old peice of carpet that has been stuck down over and over again to the point where having it is a hazard my mother is disabled cut her leg and both her knees are like balloons by the end of the evening she also has a metal kneecap on one knee and she is in so much pain now and may have to go hosiptal with this now so taking our mum out for Christmas Dinner ended up being the worst idea and she was less mobile by the end of the day so a absolutely awful day awful food and awful service . Not much care and no one went to mum to make sure she was well just spoke to couple of family memebers ... disgusted and wouldnt recomend this place for anything 😒

Had a brilliant Christmas dinner and have had many Sunday meals before. Food was lovely and a huge shout out to Maxine and Wendy who were amazing. It was so so busy and they still made time to look after and make conversation with each and every customer, really making sure everyone was happy and had everything they needed. Nothing seemed too much trouble for them. Thank you to all the staff for working through Christmas day to make ours so special

My wife and I had a great 3 course lunch from the senior's menu. We didn't have to wait very long between courses and the service was excellent. the real ale was spot on and the staff were amazing and very friendly. This pub is situated right next door to an American air base so it's nice to have a chat with our American friends. We will definitely be returning.

It was great!!!!, we turned up at just before 730, and the kitchen was closed, no explanation but closed. even though it doesn't close until 830 according to the website, We've been so many times absolute joke.

Would not recommend this pub with the management that it has! For a manager of a pub you would expect them to be professional in their job, this is not the case the. Adam the manager talks about everybody behind their backs and gossiping about others (even children) wants to ban children and dogs even though it is a family pub! Shows people in the pub nude photos of himself which is very unprofessional!! drinks alcohol whilst working, and also closes the pub early when ever he feels like it.

I like this pub but all the aviation memorabilia has gone from the walls !A great shame next to a air base ,that is what I wanted to show my friends not one bit left ,very disappointed all the history gone .

Went to the Bird in Hand twice in the first week in September, once for lunch and again for dinner. On the second occasion I was with a largish group and asked the young lady behind the bar if I could set up a tab for my group which she was happy to do and is the normal practice when I go into a restaurant. Before we were all finished our main course we were asked if we could clear our tab as no other customers could be served through that till with the tab open ! Very strange !! Notwithstanding that we decided to go there again for dinner on Sunday 10th September and arrived at 5.10 pm only to be told that they weren't doing food after 5.00 pm. ! This may have been our fault as we didn't check the website. Looks like we will have to find a more conventional restaurant next time in Mildenhall.

I guess you sort of get what you pay for. Everything overcooked massively apart from vegetables with the roast that were not cooked at all. Roast Beef like shoe Leather and very peppery. Really need to employ someone that can cook. Won’t return anytime soon.

After hearing some great reviews from friends about the recent improvements in food, myself and my family went for lunch. The service was quick, and the food was amazing, the meat was cooked to perfection, everything was hot, the presentation was on point and flavours were perfect. We can’t wait to go back again.

Great experience! Affordable food cooked well and with outstanding service from the people working. We had the Chicken Katsu which we would recommend, lasagne which had a lovely fresh salad (no wilty lettuce here!) with a tasty dressing, a build your own burger kept simple for my son (the grown-ups pinched the onion rings etc he wouldn't have eaten), and the smothered chicken from the kids menu for my daughter (we had unsmothered it before the pictures). All very tasty and portion sizes were very good, I think my 10 year old might go pop!

My husband and I visited here today how much it has changed for the better it is warm,very welcoming ,and very friendly even the customers who we don't know makes us very welcome and chat as if you have known them for years how lovely that's what we like we had a meal it was great and good value and it was even hot lovely. This pub has no heating, and has been without heating for weeks, went yesterday and left because it is so cold. Need to fix the heating to make it a Warm Welcoming Establishment as advertised.

Went in last night, was full. The guys behind the bar were on it. Really good atmosphere. Had some 80s classics playing. Maybe jukebox not sure. Place was buzzing. Lots of happy people in there. Build your own burger was really good.

What a gold mine, I’m in Barton Mills for training for 3+ weeks, there are other options, going up to £90 for a night.This place is £34 no breakfast but has a fridge so I’m having cereal which is fine for me. The room is clean and large and I have my own front door as they are chalet style rooms, parking directly outside your room.There is a wide choice of food the lasagna and burger is my favourite. Cocktails and drink specials are available hic.All I can really say is if you need a cheap comfy room with a fantastic shower in this area own front door, friendly staff and good comfy food book here.It is at the edge of Mildenhall airbase but don’t let that put you off there are some fab sightings of aircraft here.

This is without a doubt the best pub restaurant in Mildenhall. The food is excellent. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff are so friendly. The Manager, Lynn , is amazing. She goes out of her way to make you feel at home. We now eat here every week .

We are visiting family in the area and have visited a number of local inns for lunch or dinner and to be honest this little pub beat the lot! The manager is a real character, her bar staff are all very friendly, and the atmosphere is a snapshot of British hospitality! I would recommend anyone visiting this part of Britain should add this venue to their itinerary we had a great time here and will be back before we head home.

My wife and I just moved to the area and have been here three or four times due to the convenient location.The service has always been friendly. When they're busy they're sure to warn you if food might take a half hour or more. When they're not busy, food comes out right away. We have tried their meat pies, fish and chips, salads, and desserts. We've never been disappointed. If you're looking for a solid option to get dinner and a pint, the Bird in Hand is it.

Had a lovely family meal on Father’s Day, we all ordered something different and all meals were cooked well, the empty plates were proof. We hadn’t-booked and they were very busy but only had about a 30min wait which I feel is a reasonable time. All the staff were friendly. Will definitely be back

My wife and I had fish and chips at the pub despite thier being an excellent fish and chip shop opposite the pub. There was no taste of "Ale" in the beer batter and one of the fish was served broken. The chips were immensly greasy and the oil tasted of everything else that had been cooked in it.
