The best restaurants serving British food in East Midlands

This morrisons cafe has got so bad, knifes and forks don't look clean, my food finally came out and it was cold, took it back and was no more jacket potatos left. One staff member even had the nerve to say that my potato was cold because I had a cold filling on it 😂 really??? Have you done a food hygiene course as you should be aware of food standards and temperature. Not the first time we have been given cold food in here!

This has turned into a real favourite for a casual meal out. The food's good, and there's plenty of it. The staff are polite, helpful and friendly. The atmosphere is busy but you never feel rushed. My husband and I made use of the Valentine's day offer of 2 dine for £25, I enjoyed the sirloin steak, which was cooked just the way I like it and he had the mixed grill. One of our sons had the gourmet chicken burger and the other one who was with us had a pepperoni pizza all food was well cooked, hot and served promptly despite the busy pub.

I am allergic to Garlic and often struggle to find things to eat in restaurants. The staff here were so friendly, they checked through ingredients and even offered to tweak the menu to make me something. Even though the pub is a Hungry Horse, the staff made it feel like a local, rather than a franchise.

We have been coming to the king &millor for years, I've always had burgers (they have never disappointed always jucey and full of flavour) again I was looking forward to my dinner. Yes, I ordered the burgers, my wife the surf & turf. I took one bite, and it was like chewing cardboard, no taste, and just as dry. (the second one i took home for the dog). My wife's meal wasn't much better. Mushrooms the size of peas and fryed nions which looked and tasted like they had been boiled in water and again very bland. Unfortunately, it will be sometime before we go their again.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. A long time since I was in any Wetherspoon establishment or public house that had THREE Stouts available. They were all in first class condition. My compliments to the cellar manager. Thank you for excelling my expectations on the 4th day of our spring holiday.

Probablemente el mejor Wetherspoons en Nottingham, la comida era caliente y sabrosa, el Guinness era lugar en , el personal era atento y educado y el ambiente era bueno no es lo que normalmente se esperaría de un centro de la ciudad Wetherspoons. He estado aquí bastantes veces y el estándar es consistentemente bueno.

First impressions; No table cloth! Drab room! Receptionist was also waitress! Tea was served in horrid white chunky cups. Afternoon tea on a chunky tiered plates...tiny scones on top with pre packed clotted cream...not even in a dish. Sandwiches were filled with what tasted like sandwich fillings and cheap ham. There was no finesse....we thought it was a bit like Fawlty Towers....and expected John Cleese to appear! It was great to be with friends who could all laugh at it! Won't be going back for seconds! It wasn't even well presented... We had a knife and had to use our tea spoons to serve jam!

Después de pedir y pagar (a través del código QR en la mesa) llegó la bebida de mi hijo. 15 minutos después fui a preguntar dónde estaba mi bebida. Me dijeron que se habían acabado... pero nadie me lo había dicho. Pedí algo más y miré mientras se hacían y entregaban muchas otras bebidas antes de que llegara la mía. Luego llegó el almuerzo de mi hijo (que contenía un componente cocido). La mía (que no contenía un componente cocinado) llegó algún tiempo después cuando casi había terminado. ¿Y el precio cobrado por su mini rollo de salchicha? Qué horror.

Esta tarde, tuve una increíble comida preparada por el talentoso Chef Lee, con sabores tan notables que se quedarán conmigo para siempre. La amabilidad y el cuidado genuino del personal me hicieron sentir completamente como en casa, mientras que la calidez y dedicación del propietario creó un ambiente acogedor y edificante. No era solo cenar, era pura alegría.

This little bakery is a diamond . Fantastic cakes bakes and bread with a great location and super friendly staff. Thoroughly recommend this place . Oh , and the best Eccles cake I’ve ever had.

Looking for a light meal whilst passing through Ashby we found "Fuel" towards the back of the market hall ( a fun place to browse). The menu caught our eyes so we went in. Our choices of wraps seem to take a time to come but 2 large takeaway orders left the place while we waited. The diverse fresh ingredients were obvious from the first bites, very tasty and healthy, the soup was also great. We get so used to fast food that we forget that hand crafted items take time. Nice to see they sponsor a local hockey team, putting into the community. I can see the appeal of having takeaways in the office, would put on a list of places for a repeat visit

Non existent customer service. They also don’t have anything you want to order - we tried to order a chocolate sundae, cookie dough, milkshake, chocolate fudge cake and was told they were all not available. This was after paying. The entire party had to then choose alternatives they weren’t entirely keen on because we had already paid. I find it hard to believe they didn’t know before. We also witnessed a staff member being quite unkind to another employee who was taking orders, and seating walk ins, telling him off and telling him to wash plates instead of seating walk ins. When our food did arrive, only 2 out of the 3 items came. We waited 25 mins for a Sundae to arrive, when it didn’t we told the staff who said it was coming. It then took 10mins for this to arrive. It really shouldn’t take 35 mins to put some ice cream in a bowl. Youre better off going to Heavenlys down the road. Don’t waste your time here.

Went here for mothers day 22 in the group. Fantastic service food hot and lots to choose from, something for everyone. Tables were cleaned as soon as people had finished eating. Will happily go back
