Took two of our grand children and we all had an excellent meal. They listened to our request (the grandchildren only eat plain burgers ie no trimmings, salad etc.) and the food was as ordered. Our designated server, Kirsten, was also excellent as nothing was too much trouble for her and she was very pleasant.

Came in with my daughter yestaurday lovley play area for kids had the donner kebab recommended by natalie excellent service brought menus and crayons to.the table for my little one highley recomend great pub will definitely be returning

A brilliant place for a family meal. Nice relaxed atmosphere, the team are really friendly, nice little kids area too. Lots of entertainment.

Been here for a few times and it’s always great. We came last night for the quiz, the quiz was great and we had a steak which was cooked to perfection. Staff were great and great atmosphere. James was especially great with the kids and letting them order their own food! Thank you!

Visited the Bulls Head with my wife on their first Beer Fest event, was awesome. The atmosphere was great, fab live music and great BBQ. The member of staff on the BBQ (Ben) was very helpful in checking allergens and provided a great gluten free option for my wife, we greatly appreciated this, given how busy the event was.

Didn’t have everything in the menu! When food arrived all the dishes that did come came with over cooked french fries on- we were not told they had no chips this was minor until we realised the French fries were like chewing on sticks! No check back was made to our table so this couldn’t even be rectified! Sad to say the only thing nice on my plate was my peas.

Went last night for my dads birthday. When we arrived there was only 1 other table occupied in the whole place. Understand why now! Staff were friendly and helpful. The food arrived and it was all ok. Nothing special , small portions and 1 dessert was tiny. They told me that was just the size of the slices. Compared to the other desserts, it was ridiculously small! Will not be returnimg, left feeling very underwelmed.

I was very impressed that there were "flags" on each course of the meal to warn "Allergy". It made the meal a more relaxing experience. It removed any doubt that the issue had been noted.

Not a very good experience. Got to the table and had to ask them to clear up, there was all rubbish on the floor round the table. Had prawn cocktail for starters, great dollop of seafood sauce with about 6 prawns in it. At least I was looking forward to my roast dinner, but guess what? No roasts were available, on a Sunday when people would be going for roasts. Staff seemed as if they didn’t want to be there. We won’t be going again.

9 of my family was well looked after today at the bulls head can not fault a thing fantastic as usual

We went for first time since lockdown and can say that all the food was very fresh & tasty and was followed with good service. We’ll definitely be back again! P.s. highly recommend the cookie cheesecake dessert!

100% wouldn’t recommend coming here if you have any intolerances. No alternative milk at all. Then coffee was actually cold and the non free from milk that came had a hair in it with no specification of what type of milk it was. Staff were rude on arrival following the instructions to stand and wait to be seated and no one came to seat us for at least 7 minutes so we were standing in the door way getting in peoples spaces and obviously this highly breaches social distancing. Colleague ordered food and it came with no cutlery and the way we were spoken to and addressed wasn’t acceptable as paying customers. Made to feel unwelcome by the staff. I wouldn’t come here again I’d rather get a £1 coffee from the burger van next to the charity shop than come here again. Unfriendly to people that aren’t local.

We went for lunch, 4 adults, 2 children at 2 pm in the afternoon, there were maybe 3 other tables in there so not all busy!We ordered 6 meals, 2 turned up 10 minutes after ordering, 5 minutes later no other food had arrived so we followed up, 3 more meals arrived 10 minutes later and the final meal another 10 minutes after, again after having to chase up!The lady that took our order was rude and we were made to feel like we were a hassle! The only saving grace was the young waitress that showed us to the table and offered us free drinks as an apology! Won’t be rushing back!

Couldn't get in anywhere but I phoned up on the off chance, got a table and had a good meal. Not at all expensive but I didn't like the pastry on the apple pie. We will eat here again.

Well we used to be regulars to this place but we have not been back for three years given it went downhill, we received a 40% discount voucher via email so we decided to give it a try.Well we received a nice welcome and the service and the food had improved and it appeared all the social distancing measures had been put in place and we were thinking it will go back on our list to visit again.Then the young girl cleared the table and I requested the bill and asked her to bring the credit card machine on her return to conclude our night, we then went to exit through the designated exit door through the bar area to be greeted by a loud voice shouting ( HAVE YOU PAID ) I could have cringed to be challenged in that manner but after looking back there was only a few clients in the pub, but if you talk to people who had just spent in excess of £40 like that I can see why .

Went at 1pm on a Saturday. 1 person outside, 3 inside. This place is usually packed. We intended to sit outside in the sun. No menus out so had to ask for one at the bar. Handed menus over with a piece of paper with a QR code for us to “sign in”. I have no idea what that QR code will allow my mobile to disclose, or to whom and where that information will be stored, and used for what purpose. But not happening. Ask is service conditional on me doing this and barmaid asked a middle aged man, presumably the landlord. He was rude and cocky beginning with “refuse him service” and felt it necessary to say “see you later” as I made for the door, so we left his empty, unprofitable Marston’s chain pub and didn’t buy anything. Neither shall we return and no doubt in a year’s time he will be working in a warehouse and the pub will be converted to flats. That is what happens when people abandon common sense and treat customers in this way. Leaving your name and phone number is one thing. Demanding access to your phone is a different level of intrusion altogether.

Would not visit again no social distance rules being adhered to!Customers moving furniture around and using wrong entrances because they cannot be bothered to walk round!Terrible experience staff asked a rude woman to put the chairs back she had moved and she had a go at us???

Place was busy which was good but food was dry and processed. Completely ran out of desserts, poor planning and naive. Not sure I would go back

Honestly couldn't fault the meal we have just had. Served hot and was quick and efficient service throughout. Felt extremely safe....great covid measures in place. Superb staff as always! I think her name was Pam. Thanks Lynne....see you soon 😊

Told a half hour wait for food, the starter came out after 10 mins or so, the main has still not arrived 1.5 hours later, someone stopped by and said its coming, that was 15 minutes ago.

Not a fan. The burgers are awful. It’s like eating charcoal. I’ve been here a few times but I don’t think I’ll be back.

Witnessed staff go from handling cash to pulling pints to going into the kitchen without washing their hands or using hand gel. Appalling!! Waited over 30 minutes to be seated in our pre-booked table and even then, it was another 30 minutes until we were able to order. To top it all off, my boyfriend’s lasagna came out half frozen, lukewarm. Disgusting!!! Wouldn’t give it to my dog, DO NOT COME HERE

Visited the bulls head with my family for my boyfriend’s birthday. Everything was great food and service. Was not sure about going out for food with all that is going on but couldn’t fault it. Felt very safe and had a great time. Thank you

Came in Wednesday evening with my wife and son. Food was lovely and hot. Was worried to return after COVID but felt very safe and assured. Will definitely be returning very soon. Thank you bulls head we had a lovely evening.

We went in at around 9 in the evening the other day and ordered drinks. I thought it closed at 11 as it says online so we arranged to go home at 10:45 due to previously being told to leave at 10:45 (never did anything wrong we just quietly chat in a corner).We ordered second drinks which we had not finished when at 10:10 we were told to take our drinks outside because they had closed??? Were not happy At them closing early when we had paid for our drinks and they are supposed to close at 11. We then waited in the car for my friends to get their lifts and witnessed all the staff leaving Straight after. They were quite rude and we obviously weren’t going to sit outside when it was closed and very cold. Must have been because they couldn’t be bothered so wanted to go home and thought because we look young they’d kick us out. We didn’t act inappropriately or anything to trigger this and have been here before. Was appalled at the lack of ‘customer first’ attitude and we will not be returning.

Absolutely appalling!!!Do not waste your money!!!Nipped for quick tea with wife and food was dismal!!!!I had mixed grill came without onion rings and grilled tomato, substituted with garden peas!!Steak was dry and tough, chicken breast insipid and pale not even char grilled!!! Wife had the bacon and chicken salad, appalling!!No virgin oil drizzle, chicken again insipid and not char grilled, strips of bacon had about six extra thin strips had to search to find them!No cucumber halfs, just mixed lettuce and thin strips of red pepper and onion!!!If it were 2 for 1 wouldn't have been as bad but full price!!!Will never go back of recommend to anyone,Absolutely crap!!!!!

My second recent visit here to meet up with a friend and landlady’s husband behind bar was ignorant rude and practically was peed off that we only ordered 2 drinks and a starter , First visit I ordered the nachos , dry tastes nachos, the smallest over melted amount of cheese imaginable and the smallest amount of sour cream guacamole and salsa I’ve seen which went on my second dipping , Today ordered a prawn cocktail starter , came in a mini tin limp lettuce prawns then dollops of prawn sauce , it was ok but no flavour no garnish and nothing special When ordering today the landlady’s husband was serving behind the bar he was very rude ignorant and care less attitude , basically kept asking are we not ordering anything else appart from 2 drinks and a starter We have given this place 2 tries recently both times good not great at all and will not be giving them any more of our time and money untill they learn some manors and customer care !!!!!!! Come in bulls head get it together

Came in Friday lunch and was very busy. All the staff worked very hard and still had a smile on there face. I had the burger and was only £5 which is a bargain. Never had a bad meal. Will be booking for my birthday in April.

Came here with my 89 year old grandmother and my partner who is a chef when we arrived it seemed busy we found a table and decided on 2 burgers and a hunters chicken it took over 1hr for our food to arrive we were not told of any delay at the bar when we ordered when our food came out it looked nothing like the menu description and the presentation was a disgrace staff seemed more interested in talking than clearing tables and they didnt even check on the table was very poor service our food was all over cooked and burnt when i spoke to staff they said oh well poor management and poor service these issues need addressing as there are multiple reviews like this wont be back !!!!

A young blonde woman on her own behind the bar I felt for. The landlady is one of the rudest people I’ve came across. It took 1.20mins for our food to arrive and even then they couldn’t get it right. I ordered a side to have with my dinner not after I’ve eaten it. I will not be back. Go to the navigation or Eaton farm. New manager needed. She’s dreadful!!

Please NOTE: this pub is NOT at ReptonSince having a recent makeover, The Bulls Head has improved with every visit.There is plenty of choice for vegetarians as well as vegans and carnivores.Hot food has always been served piping hot and is very tasty.There are good selections of starters and afters.

I would rather eat cardboard than eat the food we was given. Black burger is an understatement!the service was also poor very long wait at the bar and no table check to see how bad the food was. Terrible please dont waste your time going.

Went in for a family meal around 5.30 in the week. After ordering 2 pub meals and 2 pizza was told they had no defrosted pizza dough so we couldn’t have pizza!! After pushing their new pizza menu you’d think they would have the food readily available. No apology from the landlady just a response to order an alternative!!

Booked here for a meal with family. When we turned up they didn’t have our booking but seated us straight away so it wasn’t an issue. I gotta say it does exactly what it says on the tin. When you eat at a pub you get your staples but the menu here has a different feel to your run of the mill pub grub. Yes it’s got your fish n chips, pie and scampi but it also offers something different like what I had, halloumi fries which were superb and chicken strips on a waffle with maple syrup. Everything we ordered was well cooked and tasted really nice. Order was accurate, nothing missing. I think they were short staffed as the guy who served our drinks also delivered our food and cleaned our table. We didn’t wait too long either. It was nice to sit n have time for a chat in between courses to be honest. Value for money here was amazing. Me and my better half had 2 courses each along with drink and it came to about £27 ish. So would I come back again? Yeah definitely.

Don’t know what’s happened but the Bulls Head (Breaston) has really gone down hill. We have been regulars since moving in to village 15 years ago. Tonight we waited over an hour for 4 burgers. They really did look like they had been thrown together and appearance wise very poor which really match the taste.

Just had the worst food at this place ever we have been on a lot of occasions and the food as been reasonable but tonight it was terrible I had fish and chips the batter was soggy the fish was grey my eldest granddaughter had steak and she could not even get her knife though they did not bother coming to ask if the food was okay I live locally but we will definitely not be going back

Just like last year we had a great time. Food yummy. Entertainment great. Staff wonderful. Will be back next year for sure. me and the hubby might even keep coming once the kids are grown up 😁😁

Visited here a couple of days ago, met by friendly member of staff and shown to table. Food arrived quickly and was delicious. We had the Yorkshire stacks, chicken and gammon pie and scampi and chips. Could not fault any of it . 4 people eat for £27, excellent value for money. We have also visited a couple of times for Sunday roast, for £6.75 not sure how anyone can complain. We will definitely be back !

Came for Sunday lunch with my family for my sisters birthday. The food was lovely and all the staff were great. Lovely pub with a great atmosphere. Sunday lunch was 2 4 £12 which is a bargain. The Christmas decorations also look brilliant. Would definitely recommend this pub.

Unfortunately another inedible dinner from the Bulls Head in Breaston (not to be mistaken by the Bulls Head in Repton which is amazing!). After several awful meals here a few years ago I vowed to never eat here again. However I stopped for an impromptu pizza one Friday recently and for £5 it was edible and so thought I would return to try something else. Now I should say here that I am not a fussy eater and pretty much eat anything. However the roast beef dinner I had tonight was cold, tasteless and I was unable to eat it as the beef was so tough it could not be cut, the roast potatoes were raw in the middle, carrots and peas were hard, broccoli over cooked, the mash was stodgy and the Yorkshire pudding tasted like old oil. My kids dinners were equally awful for similar reasons, I had one mouthful of one of their sausages and it was so full of gristle even my 2 year old (who eats anything) would eat nothing on his plate. My partner had a vegan burger with chips and said it was nice.

What a jem lovely bar staff service with a smile, and great choice of drinks at a very reasonable price nice atomsphere could not fault this pub will definitely be returning

Lovely pub inside and out however the food is boarder line... we had a lovely walk and couldn’t get into the pub we wanted to visit for Sunday lunch as they were fully booked (our mistake) so we thought we’d try here. We ordered one veggie Sunday lunch and one half roast chicken Sunday lunch. I decided to go large for an extra £2 on the half roast chicken and the only difference was the chicken was served on a rectangle plate (complete illusion) to make you feel like you’re getting more but there was not more food on the large apart from an extra Yorkshire pudding. The menu also lists the Sunday lunches to be served with stuffing, there was no stuffing on the dinner. We mentioned all this to the staff and we were offered a free pudding, we settled for the extra money back for the regular serving of food. The staff are lovely but we definitely won’t be parting with any more money to eat here perhaps a drink again... we’ll see... I’m not one to complain but I think it’s important to share in consistencies when parting with your money.

we came on a works night out for food and a few drinks, all been revamp and looks really nice inside, staff all really friendly and helpful, good selection on drinks available, the food was amazing, i had the yorkshire stack with the chedder mash, it was just the right amount, though it was that nice i could of eaten it again.

Had a lovely meal out with my partner and parents last nights, we all had a great meal each with no grumbles. Menu has a wide choice with good offers and food is great value for money too. Nice relaxed and homely environment. Will definitely return.

Me and my husband visited on Friday evening it was quite busy my husband waited 10 minutes to be served at the bar. We ordered our food a hour later we still hadn't eaten I asked one of the waitress how much longer she went to the kitchen came back and said it would be 3 minutes 5 minutes later we got our food no apology or reason why it had taken so long. Won't be going back

Handy place for a meal. Good service, good food and beer and reasonable prices.Service was friendly and attentive and the meal came promptly and was very tasty.

We booked a table for 10 people here after trying to book a table elsewhere and we were told they couldn’t take bookings for groups larger than 8 people. I phoned to book at the Bulls Head and had a friendly person take the booking for ten which wasn’t a problem here, we just had to eat at 8:45pm as it was short notice and other times were booked up. We all arrived and got seated. We were there to celebrate my daughters 19th Birthday. She asked to order a cocktail and the waitress asked to see ID which my daughter never had so she was disappointed she had to order a non alcoholic drink on her birthday but lesson learnt, -always carry ID. We all enjoyed our main courses which were nicely presented, hot and tasty. A few of us then ordered a dessert which also went down well except one which was some burnt cookie dessert but the waitress immediately said we didn’t have to pay for that which was good. We had complimentary balloons on the table and a free dessert happy birthday platter thing which was a lovely touch. We all had a lovely evening and it was our first time here. We will return.

Visited at 7pm on a Sunday after seeing online that they advertised Sunday dinners all day on a Sunday. We had been out for the day and really fancied a Sunday roast on the way home- so were disappointed when we arrived to be told they had no Sunday dinners left. We found a table to sit at but then moved to another as it was dirty with sticky dried up drink spills. We then looked at the menu, which was so 'busy' that you got a headache reading it. We ordered the vegan burger, tikka masala, gammon and vegetable lasagne. Food took just under 40 minutes to arrive. Gammon was so overcooked that the whole steak, not just the fat, was crispy and the egg had been cooked for far too long- the white was burnt and crispy and the yolk was rock hard and rubbery. The vegetable lasagne was very dry on the top, the lasagne sheets undercooked and the tomato sauce very dry, also the garlic bread that came with it was burnt around the edges. The poppadom that came with the tikka masala was chewy and stale and there was no mango chutney served as stated on the menu. We decided to eat the meals rather than send them back as it was now 8.15pm and seeing as the meals had taken so long to arrive in the first place who knows how long a replacement would be! Went to pay the bill on the way out and wasn't even asked by the member of staff if the meals were alright. I couldn't even be bothered to raise it as I got the impression it's the kind of place that I would just receive a "sorry about that", rather than any discount or offer of recompense - if they can't even be bothered to ask how your meals were, then that says it all really. Trouble with places that serve food very cheap sometimes unfortunately means you get a cheap standard of food too. £40 down the drain and definitely won't return - the Navigation up the road serves far better food, just sadly we had missed their cut off time on a Sunday.

The food was incredibly tasty and so cheap. Usually I can pick a fault with a restaurant or the food but not with this place. I definitely recommemd!

I have been to eat at this pub many times and nine times out of ten have been very satisfied with the food, the service, the quality of the meals and the presentation of them. The one reason I cannot call this a good pub is because every single time I order a drink there I get a short measure. I have now given up asking for a top up because they look at me as though I am at fault. Why would a pub with a well deserved reputation for good food and service put it's reputation at risk by perpetually serving short measure on its drinks. They probably do it because the Brewery tell them to and not because they want to. Shame because it is a nice place to go.

Three of us went for a meal on a Monday evening at the Bulls Head. Expecting to be met with good service and nice food as this is what we received the last time we visited, albeit a good year ago now, We were instead met with a nearly empty pub.

Arrived at 3pm (30 June) waited about half an hour to be served.

A meal for 4 and a child. Main dinner was ok however I am unsure how fried carrots are suitable on a child menu as part of the 5 a day. They were soggy and tasteless.

Booked a table for 12 of us and had such a great day. The food was lovely and hot and the staff did a great job even though was very busy. Love the new look and would highly recommend this place.

On a lovely day visited the Bulls Head, found parking the car no problem, and on entering the recently refurbished premises, felt a welcoming atmosphere. Found a table very quickly and was met by an enthusiastic member of staff who served us straight away with our drinks, and took our food order at the same time. we took our seats and the food arrived looking delicious, and tasted as good as it looked, and it was served hot and in reasonable time. A pleasant experience indeed, well done the. kitchen staff and servers.The 'A' team were on duty, LYNNE,STEENA and CHRISTOPHER clearly enjoyed their work and it rubbed off on us.

We had a very pleasant first course and tried to order dessert at 8.55 to be told the kitchen was closed. I accept that they would not take any first orders at that time but surely those of us who had started our meal should be able to complete it. Nowhere was it stated that the kitchen closed early or was it made clear when we ordered our main course. Surely a table booking for 7.30 we should be able to have more than one course. No complaints about the food we had.

A recent makeover has ‘slightly’ improved the food but the service is still shocking!!!! The landlord and landlady obviously aren’t that bothered from what we’ve seen so why should the staff be?

Had some nachos. Abysmal. A pile of Doritos with barely a sprinkling of grated cheese, some very plastic tasting "guacamole" which has barely been near an avocado. The sour cream looked and tasted more like mayonnaise. And the pulled pork / beef chilli extra had little to do with pork or beef. Added to which there was so little topping that it wasn't enough for the Doritos. Can't believe they have the audacity to charge £8 for this or of plastic from a jar.

Called into The Bulls Head for a quick bite to eat before heading south to Moseley.

We visited the bulls head on Easter Sunday for 8 of us, a rare family meal. 4 of us ordered the beef Sunday roast, well not again I am not sure you could even call it beef, it was no more than one millimetre thick, the fat had not been rendered and it was so dry we struggled to swallow it, it may be good value, but had I of known it was a cheap cut I would have avoided it, such a shame. The mash was not fresh, to be honest almost like yesterday's warmed through or even frozen and warmed through, lacked seasoning and a simple knob of butter. 2 of the group had the mega breakfast, sausages were deep fried, beans warmed in microwave and were drying up, eggs were not cooked, the white still very much opaque. The fish and chips and hunters chicken were enjoyed. On our first drinks order we asked for a mocktail, I overheard a lady ask a member of staff 'can you do a mocktail' I believe she was the manager, two minutes later we were told we don't do mocktail and she was fobbed off with a flavoured lemonade. On the array of menu offerings you have, to not have a mocktail seems a little strange and was another let down. Working in hotels myself I know you have the odd bad day, but given that when we arrived it was very quiet and the kitchen would not have been under too much pressure I wonder how it's managed when it's full. Such a shame as we have been to the bulls head many times and enjoyed, think we will stick to the Queens Head in Ockbrook, simply great no matter what the pressures.

After a recent facelift the interior now has a clean, fresh feel. The new pizza oven is a triumph and the rest of the extensive menu offers something for everyone. Lynne and Chris have a great boozer!

Was staying at the risley hall had one meal here and decided not to again, took a short walk to this pub and wasnt disappointed. Lovely food and good service all for a reasonable price would definitely reccomend

My mum and her friends had lunch her on a Friday lunchtime.

Called here today for Lunch. We chose from the Lunch time menu. We had 1 hunters chicken and one cheese and onion tart.

Booked a table for 12 of us and had such a great day. The food was lovely and hot and the staff did a great job even though was very busy. Love the new look and would highly recommend this place. Thanks for a very special Mother’s Day. And the free gin and tonic was a great touch.

Today we went to the the Bulls Head the atmosphere was lively and busy. We pre booked the table however the staff members couldn’t find our reservation. So what they put is on another reserve table for another family and we could only stay for 2 hours.

We went for lunch today and found the place to be clean and tidy. The portion of the food is just right and even had room for pudding. The price is just right too so will be coming back again.

A beautiful meal but ruined by one member of staff. We had starters, mains and desserts that were all amazing made by a friendly young chef. Unfortunately the night was ruined by a member of staff who I assume was the manager on the day as she was not wearing uniform and who had brown hair and a ponytail and looked to be in her 40’s. As soon as we walked in we were not greeted kindly and throughout the night we were spoke to in a rude manor which descended into constant frowning which made us uncomfortable forcing us to depart early. Not only this but we witnessed her being condescending towards the chef’s out on the restaurant and the bar staff. Without this member of staff I would definitely recommend The Bulls Head Breaston.

Havent been in here to eat yet and try the new menu but been in for a few drinks and wont hesitate to try it out.

Went to the bulls head for lunch today it was absolutely packed but you know what was served very quickly food amazing as usual staff pleasant nothing any trouble could not get car in car park but that did not stop us going in I love it thanxs Lynn and staff

Visit the new bulls head Wednesday night. Wow it’s was just great. It’s was so busy but the staff did a great job. I had a pizza it was lovely. Would definitely recommend. Not been in for a wile and will be back very soon. Stena the manager was great and even got chance to talk to us about the new menu

I have been going here for a while. Recently visited The Bulls Head after a recent renovation. The decor is great. Modern but still in keeping with the traditional look. The staff are always friendly. The managment team are also out front of house. Working behind the bar, surving food and even preparing the pizza's. The food is nicely presented, well prepared and taste great. They have a great variety of foods for all. From pub classics all the way to pizza's. The deserts are really nice aswell. They have a great variety of drinks behind the bar aswell. I highly recomend this place for either a few drinks with friends or meal out with your family or significant other. 10/10

Really hot, all the fires on on full and most tables reserved. Sat near the bar where mostly staff conducted personal conversations in ear shot and not nice really. Would go back to try food but sit away from bar.

The food was absolutely incredible and the pizzas were really filling. The staff throughout our visit were really friendly and welcoming. Offering a takeaway box for our unfinished garlic bread was an excellant touch to visit. Unfortunately we didn't get the waiters name but he knew the menu items and was very helpful.

Came into the bulls head tonight with my fiancé, we ordered the Ham Mamia pizza and a nacho pizza, the food was delicious as well the service by the staff...I will definitely return

visited here today Monday 21st Jan 2019. We use to visit here weekly some years ago in its heyday but only now and then these days, it being about a year since our last visit and we do live close.

I'm a regular customer at the Bull's Head and usually the food's fine, the price is right and the service OK. But last week theymanaged to get several things wrong on a single, simple order. I ordered a jacket potato with beans, no cheese, no salad. The barmaid acknowledged my order, but just wandered off for two minutes to find her till key. No apology. She asked again what I wanted. I repeated it, added a cappuccino and packet of crisps and offered a voucher (from a Christmas meal, where the food was fine, but the service painfully slow). Two more minutes while she and her boss puzzled over how to enter the voucher in the till. No apology. I took the coffee and sat down. Below the froth, the coffee had no milk and therefore wasn't a cappuccino. I took it back and said if the machine won't do cappuccinos I'd have an Americano instead. A few minutes later she brought it. When I tried it it had no milk either. After fifteen minutes, with no food arriving, I asked the boss to chase it. He said nothing, went to the kitchen, brought it out and gave it to me. (How long had it been sitting there?) No apology. It was a jacket potato with beans and cheese and salad (not what I'd ordered). The crisps were all right.

We enjoyed a lovely 3 course meal at the Bulls Head on Christmas day, the food was served quickly, was extremely tasty and the staff were friendly and joined in the Christmas spirit. The whole place was decorated out with Christmas trimmings and was extremely inviting and enhanced our Christmas celebrations. LYNNE and CHRISTOPHER must be congratulated on making it such a splendid occasion for the two of us as we were not part of a family group. It was an excellent occasion for us and we cannot wait until next Christmas for a similar experience. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Waited 1 1/2 hours to be seated for our 2pm booking. Food tasteless & they ran out of some items ☹️ disappointed would be an understatement

We have lunch here about once a month when we visit our son who lives nearby. We always enjoy it. The food is very good value for money and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. We always look forward to our visits.

Travelled for 3 hours and stopped here for lunch. Clean restaurant and the food was nice just a little expensive for what we had

Have recently enjoyed three meals at this pub all have been well cooked and served hot their “ two for one” was very good value, it seems to be a victim of its success though with often a wait for tables and tables not being cleared or cleaned. That apart friendly staff and fairly quick service make up for that. Plenty of car

Just been lunch today ordered Fish and chip‘s.Meal was terrible as there seemed to be no fish in with the batter and looked like it had been reheated just one hard piece of batter and not very hot. Meal was sent back was asked if I wanted it replaced I declined as my wife and I were the first in for a meal today and if that’s the best the Bulls Head can do at the beginning of service I dread to think what the quality of food the other customers will receive today. I WILL NOT be returning.

Went for a family meal on Friday, I’ve been going to the bulls head for years and never really had an issue, portion sizes have always been good even with the two for one. Staff has always been polite and friendly but Saturday I found the portion sizes where pretty small, we had the two for one and they are doing an extra £10 off when you spend £25 so for a family of 4 that’s fantastic. But you certainly get what you pay for. It appeared they have reduced the food for this offer. Now my meals was perfect for me however some members of the party where left hungry. I would say it was an even split on the quality of the food also, burgers looked lovely and my lamb hotpot pie was lovely, the lasagna was bland and not at all filling. The puddings where a very large portion but we payed full price for those. They where tasty also.

called in for dinner at 1pm ordered my drinks sat at table and awaited service as it is table served waited for 15 mins no-one came to take order waitress started to come to table but decided to go and talk to her friend ,waited another ten mins still no waitress so finished my drink and waked out disgusted staff would rather talk to friends than take orders

A great place for a night out if you are on a budget as they offer 2 for 1. Food was nice and the menu offers something for everyone. Service was very good, would go back.

We went to the Bulls Head 13/10 and ordered butter milk chicken dips and Nachos. The chicken came with dry lettuce no dressing and a sweet chilli dip, which was okay for the price. The Nachos arrived with melted cheese and jalapenos, missing its sour cream,guacamole and salsa. Asked waitress where they were and she brought the Sour cream and guacamole, which was cold. Sent Nachos back and manager came over. Manager did not apologies for error but blamed the waitress as she had only been there a week. I told the manager that it was the kitchen staffs fault not the waitress, she was very displeased when I said I did not want charging for the Nachos as I had not eaten them. Mains then arrived, smothered chicken & chorizo was okay for price. I ordered beef lasagne, which arrived as beef slop, but actually tasted okay, although there was no definition between the cheese and pasta. On paying our bill, to the credit of the manager she had deducted £11.00 from our bill. Given this, we will not be returning and will not be recommending anyone visiting.

Having been eating at the Bulls head for years and years as it was our spontaneous eating place midweek, we turned up tonight for a family meal and sadly were very disappointed. What has happened? Rather surreal experience. Had my usual (not as good as it usually is) and 3 out of 4 dishes were meant to include chips- tiny portions. So we requested extra. Daughters curry with rice arrived and we can’t quite get our heads round the thought process that allowed a cook to put wallpaper paste gloop on the plate instead of rice. Overall the food was certainly not of the standard we are used to from this pub! What was going on? Staff did apologise and brought additional chips and salad however we were reluctant to stay any longer than necessary as the large party behind us were swearing, throwing things across the tables and even came over and asked for one of our chips for their daughter. They were constantly going outside to smoke and leaving door open, so cold air and smoke was coming in AND then to top it all the pub has installed a toy grabbing machine, which they kept coming over to next to our table to use- felt like I was in Skegvegas- my least favourite place in the world! Sorry Bulls head but if this is the way you are going then we won’t be visiting anymore. ☹️ Sad as like to support our local places.

Excellent for midweek eating out on a budget Steak deals are the best and curry wednesday with a bottle of wine can't be beat

This place doesn't seem to have the shine it used to have. Sometimes you get a lovely meal and can have a great evening, other times, very average all round. Such a shame as it used to be our goto place

Just back from our latest jaunt after a few days away with eldest daughter & family, almost 60 years since we honeymooned there.in May 1959. Needless to say the place has changed some-what. It has now become a vibrant sea-side resort for all walks of life, from babes in arms to pensioners. I assume, the authorities have ploughed a lot of money into the resort, which you can appreciate by the revamped prom, with kiddies rides & amusements. A stroll down the pier is certainly worth a visit or two. The show on the pier is well worth going to see, a real professional show that leaves your sides splitting, credit to all the cast & company. We were holidaying self-catering, twas only a small dining area that doubled-up as a bedroom, so feeding seven people presented a bit of a challenge, but we coped, ate breakfast on the hoof, & ate out mostly in the evening. There are plenty of eating places, so you aren't stuck for anywhere to go, advisable to book if possible. The accommodation is an old look-out post that was used during WW11 keeping watch for any invasions in that area. Now you can sit there all day with your binos surveying the wind farms, oil/gas platforms etc, keeps you occupied. The accommodation was a little cramped, but the two eldest girls slept outside under canvas. No holiday in this area is worth-while without fish, chips & mushy peas standing on the quay in Wells-next-the-Sea. We will be,hopefully, holidaying there next year, it's a MUST. A.Barnes.

Really poor quality food my partner and I had spicy chicken burger which comprised of a slice of chicken one lettuce leaf a squirt of chilly sauce and 5 chips. Stars out of 5 minus 10 really was that bad.

Nice pub in a lovely location in the village. Nice outdoor seating a real bonus this summer! A nice cold drink went down very well. I would love to return for a meal soon.

8 of us turned up for a meal and everything was going great very friendly service and welcoming

4 weeks ago I took mu granddaughter for tea after school. We had a lovely meal. Next visit 2 weeks later, food order did not go through to the kitchen, so we were waiting for ages, food ok, but they could have offered a couple of scoops of ice cream for our inconvenience, but nothing. Today, as she wanted to go again, they did not have her choice of meal. I had ribs, but the chips looked and tastednlike.they had been waiting all day for us to turn up. A member of staff also sat on the next table ramming knives, forks and spoons into a tray, so we couldn't hear ourselves think. Wont be going again as notnsure what experience you are going to get.

Lovely, friendly and very clean. Food was lush and can not wait for my next visit. Staff are welcoming and helpful

Had a number of meals at Bulls Head Breaston, each time its ok....nothing amazing but for the price you don’t really expect it. Staff are friendly with a relaxing ambiance. Enjoy a bit to eat with friends and family.
