Looking for a light meal whilst passing through Ashby we found "Fuel" towards the back of the market hall ( a fun place to browse). The menu caught our eyes so we went in. Our choices of wraps seem to take a time to come but 2 large takeaway orders left the place while we waited. The diverse fresh ingredients were obvious from the first bites, very tasty and healthy, the soup was also great. We get so used to fast food that we forget that hand crafted items take time. Nice to see they sponsor a local hockey team, putting into the community. I can see the appeal of having takeaways in the office, would put on a list of places for a repeat visit

Hi - i think FUEL is an interesting place and worth a visit. I have been 3 times now plus an occasion when it was shut! First time i came with my daughter - had a lovely smoothie and fruit / pancakes - highly recommended (not sure they do the same now - check prior) 2nd time with my other daughter - i had a healthy slaw and some interesting beetroot tortilla chips with paprika - again we enjoyed it different - reasonable and good to have an alternative choice. With those 2 under my belt I was highly recommending it and saying we should go back. Went today with my partner and eldest daughter again - menu had grown somewhat and was a bit more mainstream - i am cool with this - i understand this is a business. We ordered fuel breakfast - a vegetarian wrap of some kind and 'seasoned nachos' and a green thai slaw. In general this food was good but I have to admit i was very disappointed with what came for my slaw and the nachos. Not what I was expecting. The 'nachos' was a small dish of tortilla chips (out of a bag quite possibly) circa 20 for £2.50 no preparation or dressing just some tortilla chips that i could have bought form Morrisons for the same prize for the bag! I think i was taken aback at the time but thinking about it for the next few hours i feel really let down by this option. The slaw was also slightly underwhelming - a bowl of coleslaw again no garnish or anything. Keeping this balanced - the waiter / manager did ask if there was anything he could do - i was not sure there was - after all that is what he was offering -i told him i had been before and thought i was ordering something different! So as the title says a mixed bag - i didnt want to slaughter the place for 1 bad experience - but i do feel it right to let them know as I doubt people would return the basis of what i had. Change that bit of the menu guys. If you want to try somewhere different give this place a go - maybe ask before you order so you know what you will get. On a similar note if you want somewhere different and interesting try Sonny's Street food in Loughborough.

I would not recommend this cafe, I visited with my 3 year old daughter and the owner is plain rude and patronising telling me can I not read a sign on a door on several occasions. Definitely one to avoid at all costs! I'm not normally a person to complain but felt compelled to in this case. Not a pleasant experience.

Located at the rear of the town hall market hall on Market Street. it's both a sit-in and a take away with an emphasis on "healthy" dishes, but you'll still find breakfast and burgers on the menu. The food we'd ordered was tasty enough, but service was pretty dire and the meals (which were clearly reheats and not freshly prepared) took 20 mins to reach us.

Haven't eaten in the restaurant yet (although I plan on doing that soon) but have used the takeaway service, it's so nice to discover a healthy, tasty take out option without it all being deep fat fried! We had the veggie ramen soup, Thai green chicken curry with cauliflower rice and the Crabocado wrap - all delicious and delivered promptly with great service.

Sadly this pub deserves to go out of business. Undrinkable beer , uneatable food and a poisonous, two faced landlord. We have tried on several occasions to get a decent pint or basic food and failed. On the most recent visit we were told only Pedigree was on which very few people wanted and turned out to be foul. Despite apologies at the time there were no discounts on beer that was already expensive.

On a 3-4 hour journey to Alton towers and needed somewhere for food before heading home. This pub was an excellent find. Catered for gluten free with its own menu and even willing to customise my son’s fussy needs. Amazing service and food was excellent. Highly recommend! Thank you
