Morrisons Cafe Coalville in North West Leicestershire

Steve from Ellistown I ordered a toastie and chips. When the toastie came it was without the chips. The toastie was as flat as a pancke and over cooked. When the chips arrived they were also over cooked. After reading so many negative reviews, when are the managers of this branch going to take note and do something positive about this cafe instead of serving up sub-standard food. This cafe used to be a pleasant place to eat but not any more.

Dirty tables and floor. Food quality average, our chips were burned for all 3 meals. Half of menu items unavailable even we were in Friday early afternoon. Not going to came back again.

Me and mum have been numerous times over the years and have regularly been told there are no mugs for the hot drinks and we have had to wait. We went last week, no mugs had to have takeaway mugs, couldn't order hot food until the kitchen had caught up with others, there was hardly anyone in there, both drinks machines out of order so only instant coffee or tea, most tables were full of pots, hardly any cutlery, no sign apologising for inconvenience, just people walking in then walking out again. I understand they maybe short staffed etc but you can't run a cafe like that, it is no longer a cafe if you can't serve basics. Disgraceful.

Went for breakfast and was told there would be around 20/30 minutes wait. The coffee machine was broken so choice of tea or instant coffee. No Earl Grey tea option. Do it yourself tea and milk in little pots. Surroundings archaic compared to Sainsburys for example. Had bacon cobs in the end which were good. Ate these with our 'one free each' sauce. We won't be back

Visited about 2pm after shopping, needed tea and cake, there was an offer on for tea and a slice of cake, well the 2 bits of cake that were left had seen much better days all dry so opted for just tea, unfortunately no cups or mugs available as all were dirty awaiting the dishwasher, the guy in front of us had his in a coke cup , also the drinks machine was out of order, felt really sorry for the lovely girl on the till she was left all alone with no help, how can one lady serve, clean tables and do the dishes, get your act together morrisons

Food good but service is terrible no one around ever not sure if they have short staff waited 10 mins for a tea bag

Dirty tables and cutlery ordered food from their menu and pay board as you go in sat at table waiting then noticed a sign fish and chips half price so got refund asked for garden peas got mushy peas said they didn't have garden I had finished my meal and they brought out my garden peas a bit late I will never eat there again and would not recommend

Never experienced such rude customer service in my life and that is no exaggeration. Morrisons, please review your cafe staff.

A very pleasant cafe. I didn't have any food, but the coffee was nice and the staff behind the till were very sweet.

Young lady on the till very polite and great customer interaction even though she was running around doing most things. Food was nice and hot looked great too. Will definitely be back

Always very slow to clear away dirty trays and plates which somewhat spoils the appearance of the place.. cutlery not always clean either..staff always pleasent and friendly though..

Food came out some undercooked and some burnt, yet amazingly it was all cold. Asked for a refund and was met with an awful attitude from staff who said they couldn't see what was wrong with it.

Me and my partner decided to go for breakfast and remembered Morrisons to be a decent meal, but today the standard really has gone downhill. My partner ordered the ultimate breakfast and I had the vegetarian one, we had to wait about half hour for the food to come out and when it did my food was lukewarm and my partners was missing hash browns. We definitely won’t be going back for breakfast anytime soon.

I took my daughter and granddaughter for a treat how disappointed I was. The first breakfast came and it was cold my daughter spoke to the lady who offered a refund or another breakfast. We opted for another breakfast which was like warm when it arrived but the egg was not cooked properly and everything cooled down quickly. I was not impressed with the quality and will not return anytime soon

Can never order from coalville while at work. Never open at all for online orders.

The four of us came to Morrisons for lunch! Nice little outing ! Customer service of the woman who was serving us in the cafe was disgusting, wouldn’t compromise from a food to be taken of a plate to be put something we’d enjoy in there no, rudeness and wouldn’t comply with talking she started shouting , telling us to go and sit down and told us she couldn’t change nothing it was quite upsetting for my mother after having a bad day and having bad news it’s was very embarrassing of herself my mother was only trying to talk to her and was only asking she was rude and disrespectful Morrison cafe what a disgrace tables was dirty had to clean it ourselves food wasn’t on time ! Bang out of order on your behalf to treat anyone with disrespect and we felt rushed after being served sort it out! Thanks in advance

Ridiculous wait for breakfast. After 30 mins I asked where my order was and was abruptly told it'll be another 10+ minutes as they were busy. No apology for the wait, just an attitude. Why wasn't I informed of the likely wait at the time of order? (As they do at other cafes!) Rude and inconsiderate staff. Can't rate the food yet as not been served but won't expect much. Might ask for a refund if this goes on much longer. Wouldn't recommend this based on the poor level of service and rude staff.

Tried to use the online ordering app but it wouldn’t work, no staff anywhere to ask. Self serve items not accessible due to no plates. Ordered poached egg on toast, 10 minutes later a waitress appeared and informs us there is no poached eggs, only scrambled or fried… we’re in a supermarket, surely they can get eggs and poach them? They also had no sparkling water or chicken salad, see above remark about being in a supermarket! This was a Tuesday lunchtime and wasn’t busy. The food was actually fine but we won’t be returning.

We go to Morrisons Cafe several times a week and on the whole their breakfast is very good. However on Monday we went and was so disappointed. My husbands breakfast comprised of a burnt fried egg, greasy bacon and a hash brown that looked like it had been out for hours. On top of this there were many tables filled with dirty dishes, it was difficult to find a clean table. Please Morrisons this is not your usual standard, it would seem to me that you need more restaurant staff.

I went in on Wednesday afternoon expecting ok food but my word, i had the fish finger sandwich/ciabatta and it was AMAZING!!! Freshly cooked chips that were crispy and the fish was just incredible. Hot, crispy and fresh

Here we are in the middle of the Covid pandemic and Morrisons feel it's a good idea to open an in-store Party Shop! Apart from raking in the cash, what are you thinking of Morrisons? It seems there's enough people ignoring government advice without your encouragement. Show some responsibility please. We have a rule of six, not much of a party number!

Coalville morrisons is a great shop with friendly staff. Lack of staff on the tills really really let's it down. More till staff please.

Long wait, over an hour wasn’t even that busy. Cold food rock solid toast. Not very polite, missing food which magically appeared in the kitchen ? Avocado wasn’t Mashhad up in the toast. Requested tap water and they failed to bring it to me. Remains of egg on my plate too. Very upset and I am diabetic and I had to wait 1 hour for atrocious food! 💀

Deciding to lunch at Morrisons, we found an updated restaurant, with a digital ordering point near to the large billboard menu. Deciding what to have being the perpetual problem when faced with a wide choice, I had decided to have macaroni cheese and ask for a bacon topper, with cream cake to follow - yes I was very hungry. Husband chose his usual fish and chips. Noticing that there were two prices for this meal, I had decided to order the larger portion for him. On reaching the order point, we were so easily drawn into the super large portion of fish and chips, with several choices on ordering - including curry sauce or gravy, It sounded so lovely that I ordered the same for myself - and was so glad I did so. We were prepared by staff that there was a 20 minute wait for food due to being excessively busy. That was easy - we chose a table and I took the opportunity to get the shopping done in the store. When the food arrived, it was served by rushed staff who were still working hard to make sure that every customer had exactly what they expected to have, and if anything else was needed. Just so good when the whole restaurant was busy. Great food, presented well, cooked well and so much of it. I have to say that this was the only meal I needed today. The portions are huge. We did notice that those customers at nearby tables, who had ordered the all day breakfast had also received gigantic portions. Not for the faint hearted! Everything was clean, tables were cleared as quickly as possible without anyone being rushed. Fantastic service, great food - thank you for a lovely lunch today.

The cafe is in a supermarket but ran out of food

We ordered a kids macaroni cheese, a kids fish fingers and a small breakfast, 3 drinks and ordered on the machine to have to brought to our table. The food arrived and the macaroni cheese had literally been dumped on a plate straight out the microwave, edges were hard and hadn't even been stirred! The oil was obviously in serious need of changing, the hash brown was so dark and tasted terrible, as did the sausage, toast was burnt, it was literally as if someone cooking really didn't give a c**p. We were not brought our drinks or cutlery so hard to leave 2 small kids at the table alone to go get these. The fish fingers plate was so hot I had to ask for another plate, not acceptable to serve that to a 2yr old who does not understand not to touch it!

Great place, with being a wheelchair user, you look at things a whole different way., Customers and staff very helpful.. Lots of disabled parking too.

I love their fish and chips ..always a nice variety on offer and cheap prices very good value

Was very disappointed with my experience at morrisons cafe decided to go and have some lunch with my partner after ordering our meals the first thing I noticed was the dirty tables staff had not and were not cleaning them after others had finished and left the cutlery was dull and unpolished. Then we had the delight of the food( Not) my partner had the big breakfast the eggs were like rubber sausages were burnt he found this hard to digest I had the fish and chips just bland and dry sorry to say we won't be eating there again.

Always nice food in most of this stores eateries. Never complained yet.

Out coalville Hinckley & Leicester coalville Cafe is the is best it don't matter how busy it is you never have to wait long tables are always clean and the staff are very a pleasant leicester could do with taking some tips from Coalville .

Try the full English, you won't be disappointed

First occasion visiting I asked for a panini with just cheese and tuna, was told at the till that's fine. Food came and it had onion on, told a server it was wrong and was told by a rather rude lady working there that they dont serve just cheese and tuna it comes as a "tuna crunch" -but they'd check if they had enough tuna to remake it just this once. Was annoyed as I'd asked at the till and was told it was fine, but then told they dont do it. Second visit thought I'd try again, ordered the salmon pasta. After sitting down a server came to the table and told me I couldn't have that as they had none left (so why wasnt it taken off their machine sooner??) and I was to order something else, put on the spot I reluctantly chose mac and cheese. Then had to ask for our money back for the difference in price (had already paid for the salmon), was not offered this! Food then came without my side order of chips, had to ask for them also. Mac and cheese was tasteless so barely ate it. Would not return again now.

Good value for money and a nice big breakfast

We regularly have a breakfast before doing our shopping. Don't think we've had a hot breakfast in weeks!. My husbands beans and bacon was stone cold and he sent it back. The beans again were stone cold. The manager was quite rude and said they had been probed, they pronably had from the centre of the pot but they needed stiring. I had cold poached egg on dry brown toast but they hadn't strained it so it was water logged. Very disappointing. Majority of staff ate polite. Drinks are always cold. Shame it used to be lovely

Just like any other supermarket cafe. Decent food although they could make normal milk more readily available for teas rather than that dirty UHT stuff in pots

Food and drink at reasonable and good value for money, always well used and although the service is nearly always good but there does seem a degree of grim faced staff who appear to begrudge customers presence (Coalville Cafe more so than Loughborough Cafe)

Do not have the salmon........ seriously don't.

Forgot our side orders then we had to prove we had paid for them even though we ordered through the new machine

Nice to have a Morrison's that has other shops in the same area, friendly-ish staff. Some overly friendly and others just rude. Had everything most other Morrisons have.

A surprise a lovely breakfast as I didn’t have one item they let me have another and soya milk available

Best food ever breakfast lovely always hot nice cuppa too only trouble is its very busy place so go early .

Cheap and cheerful. Handy for a quick bite before shopping. Jacket potatoes and sandwiches all good and seating area light and reasonably spacious. Toilets available and baby changing too.

Now I have got used to the new ordering system it's working well although I do miss the interaction and chat with the staff. The place is always clean and the food more than adequate. I would recommend anyone to eat there.

This cafe’s been refitted since my last visit. The food and cleanliness could be greatly improved. It wouldn’t take much to bring the place up to a good standard.

Run of the mill supermarket cafe. Food can be hit and miss. Coffee is good.

They could cut the queues by making the dishes less complicated. It was busy and the one member of staff was really under pressure on her own. We thought she was so patient with everyone and even though it lengthened the wait she took her time to ensure every customer had a moment of her time and that their orders were correct. A rare quality these days!

Customer service was disgusting, Friday evening 30th Nov about 6.45pm the lady on till needs to do a customer service course her attitude stunk and very unhelpful

Rubbish! waited 45 minutes, only 30 people in,got my money back, and then ripped us off for a pound.

45 minutes for food to come! Then was shocking when turned up!!!

We ordered scampi and chips mushy peas. The mushy peas were cold chips were luke warm. Disappointed as normally we have a nice meal.

Long wait for our meals, and when they did turn up they had to be taken back as they were cold. Staff were pleasant though.

Nice breakfast (Black pudding a bit over cooked) and quick friendly service. Tables clean and tidy.

We found the Cafe disappointing as they had run out of jacket potatoes, lasagne and most of the hot food on the menu. We found this unbelievable as they're a supermarket, and we could actually see the potatoes in the veg department, therefore they could have took what they needed off the shop floor until the Cafe's stock was replenished.

Had fish and it must have been under the heat lamps being kept warm for hours so the texture was like shoe leather. Service was not so great either. Would avoid unless just for a drink and baked snack.

The cafe is back open after the refurbishment. There is still work going on in store however.

Don't have the salad, too much lettuce not enough tomato (2cherry toms cut in half) and small wedge cumber chopped finely. Expensive for what was on the plate.

Went for breakfast this time. One lady out the front doing everything, fixing coffee machines, serving at the till, taking out food orders. Felt sorry for her. Sauces are in sachets (which are free, I know some places charge) and they had run out of tomato sauce. I asked the lady for some and she said they hadn't had a delivery. Surely they could get some off the shelf in the supermarket?!?! I'm sure lots of people would want some! The food came quickly and was hot. However the presentation and quality was a disaster! Too many beans that had been slopped onto the plate. They were completely covering the bacon. And the toast was placed on them as well so went soggy. Sausage slightly over cooked and the whole thing was very greasy. Milk was in awkward little sachets and the tea can be described as grey with a film on top.

Went in with my elderly parents (82 &83) and my 15 yr old lad - my parents had the mini fish deal and me and the lad had the large fish and chips - must admit the large fish we not really large not much bigger than the small(it used to be really big )- but it was cooked really well and was nice and hot enjoyed - would have enjoyed more if the big fish was as big as it used to be

Visited today after shopping as I was hungry and on my own for the afternoon, ordered roast beef lunch and a pudding, lunch was awful, no taste in the beef and the Yorkshire pudding you could play frisby with it, the best bit was the mashed potato that was nice, the pudding was dry and not great, will not be visiting again for a lunch, maybe just a sandwich if I have to!

Estuve con un amigo hoy. Un entorno muy agradable y limpia las copas eran una gran relación calidad-precio. Por desgracia mi el único problemita era el 'fondo' de la música era como una discoteca. Mi amigo anciano y no podía oír cada otros hablando al otro lado de la mesa. . . En el 45 me encanta música en una discoteca o festival de música, pero por favor, no en una cafetería morrisons
