Wetherspoons in South Kesteven

Usual crowd in a cheap boozer at lunchtime, possibly better at night. Does what it says on the tin!

I appreciate their Large Breakfast is good value with eggs, bacon, sausages, baked beans, a mushroom, hash browns and toast for £6.40 but it needs to be hot, not warm! Initially had to return the meal as the egg yolks were hard, they were replaced, but the overall meal was certainly not hot. I’d eaten similar the day before and again the meal needed to be hotter. I can’t fault the refillable coffee at £1.50 though. I had eaten at this venue the two previous evenings with friends and enjoyed the meals. Again good value and can’t complain about the service which was generally cheerful and welcoming.

Called in here for lunch one Friday with my husband,we managed to find a table as it wasn't very busy,ordered or meals of Fish,Chips and mushy Peas,what was brought to us was disappointing,the fish was very small overcooked and mine was broken with holes in it,not many chips either,I know you don't get many but these were a poor size portion,the Peas were a slop of green on the plate maybe two teaspoonsful ,my fish was hard around the edges where it was overcooked,the batter was also very patchy. Wasnt asked at anytime how our meal was.

food vile, not cooked properly , nobody came to ask if food was ok , hardly anyone about , rude staff , manager hides form customer complaints , and doesnt take calls, very rude staff, people in their either had fights or spouting foul language, just awful!

Went with my child for some food, on the table next to us a man was using foul language every other word. Was also discriminating towards women at the bar. I asked him to curb his language and he just gave me abuse. I approached one of the staff who did nothing about it. When I asked to speak to the manager she accused me of being rude. I was not she then went and got someone to come talk with me. She then went over and was laughing with the man and his friends. This is unacceptable I ended up leaving with my child who was upset as this man was abusive to me and the manager also did nothing. Food was cold and was over done.

We stopped for a couple of drinks. Now we know a spoons is a specific kind of venue but a waiter dropped chips on the floor in a busy area and just ignored them. Every other member of staff did too! They ended up walked into the carpet, why? It’s so easy to just pick it up. Also rude for any cleaner who had to clean the mess up!!!

Steak was over cooked and gristly , both set of chips soggy and undercooked, very rude shift manager , chelsea , who when i stated would take complaint further , she said "you wont get anywhere" she tried to humiliate me , and now have emailed CEO and customer services, terrible service , rude staff and food not fit for even animals!

Meal was okay but was hoping to have the strongbow dark fruit cider with it but you do not do it anymore. Was offered an alternative which is in the picture and omg it is horrible not a nice taste or nice on the pallet. Had trouble drinking it so only had half and left the rest.

Great pub and I am a regular here. Food is usually consistently good and obviously the drink prices are excellent owing to the fact that this pub is part of the Wetherspoons franchise. So you are obviously wondering why I only gave it one star? This is due to the atrocious and bullying behaviour I witnessed on Saturday night by one of the Managers to a security employee. We were enjoying a drink in the beer garden which was packed with people due to the fabulous weather. The young security man came around checking ids of those who may not have been old enough to be there when he was approached by a young woman who I assume was a Manager (blonde hair and glasses). This 'lady' preceeded to scream at the member of security in front of the whole beer garden, accusing him of not doing his properly (he was). She stood shouting and pointing her finger in his face. The whole beer garden was watching in total disbelief and it made for such an uncomfortable atmosphere that we left (as did many others). The poor man was totally humiliated in front of everyone. Being management myself there is a way to deal with staff issues and this is not it. If there is an issue, pull the staff member to one side but do not ever bully him in front of a packed pub! Mentioning this to some other friends later in the evening and apparently this woman is well known for this type of behaviour. This bullying behaviour needs to be addressed asap and I won't be going back there until this woman is put in a position which is more suited to her vile personality. Bullying is NEVER OK.

Body guards unnecessarily rude, really upset multiple people, seen them falsely accuse multiple people simply on their age of bringing alcohol in even after their pockets have been emptied and they have ordered drinks, waste of time, money, and just horrible people who run if. Food is awful, drinks are a scam. Do not recommend. :)))

My partner and I visited this establishment a few weeks ago and we were both happy we did !!I had an appointment at Grantham hospital ,so we nipped in to Grantham town centre after for a quick bite to eat .There was a good deal of free parking around for a couple of hours and just a short walk to the Grantham spoons!It was fairly busy but we had quick, friendly service.We both had different meals that came out quickly and the friendly staff were always on hand to make sure everything was ok.If I was in the area and needed a quick bite to eatI’d definitely use this establishment again !

Its ok i had Chicken Tikka Masala it says on the menu it comes with mango chutney well they must of ran out when I saw a waiter i said excuse me excuse me didnt acknowledge me.

The staff at the restaurant were really friendly and made the experience great! The food was also really good and hot when it arrived. Would definitely eat here again. Service was very prompt also!

Hello visted for breakfast with my mother and nephew had the most awful breakfast, bacon well not sure what is was, raw mushroom and tomtoes. My mother did complain to the server who only said well that is what the supplier brought us. I felt disappointed so went to speak to the manager stephen who finally decided to see me face to face. His attitude was not very positive or helpful, said we could have a free breakfast when we came in again. He did not mention writing it down re a free breakfast or emailing me. Well went in today and surprise surprise the manager was not there, staff knew nothing about it. Fobbed off twice in a week not good. So decided to vote with our feet, take to social media and avoid at all costs. Would rather pay more and take our custom elsewhere. I booked our table a week or so in advance, was advised that 20 was about as much as would be fair to the kitchen. So I invited a few friends for a meal. They invited a few more and the table for 20 turned into 40 of us-including children. Well, what absolute stars the servers were! We milled around so weren’t at the right table when food/drinks arrived. Some food was ordered incorrectly and swiftly rectified for no extra charge. Food was good quality, hot and delivered quickly and with a smile. What a lovely team that helped us tonight. Top marks to you all, thank you very much😁
