The best restaurants serving British food in East Midlands

Non existent customer service. They also don’t have anything you want to order - we tried to order a chocolate sundae, cookie dough, milkshake, chocolate fudge cake and was told they were all not available. This was after paying. The entire party had to then choose alternatives they weren’t entirely keen on because we had already paid. I find it hard to believe they didn’t know before. We also witnessed a staff member being quite unkind to another employee who was taking orders, and seating walk ins, telling him off and telling him to wash plates instead of seating walk ins. When our food did arrive, only 2 out of the 3 items came. We waited 25 mins for a Sundae to arrive, when it didn’t we told the staff who said it was coming. It then took 10mins for this to arrive. It really shouldn’t take 35 mins to put some ice cream in a bowl. Youre better off going to Heavenlys down the road. Don’t waste your time here.

Went here for mothers day 22 in the group. Fantastic service food hot and lots to choose from, something for everyone. Tables were cleaned as soon as people had finished eating. Will happily go back

Lovely comfortable accomodation in a central location. The pub downstairs seems more suited to locals than visitors. The room was comfortable, warm and with extremely good housekeeping.

Amazing food and loved happy hour 😋 The staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back when back in the area. Hidden gem.

Bad service. Ordered for delivery and this is how the doughnuts were looking because they were packed in a bag with the hot food

Service is terrible. 1 staff member on. Have to wait ages for food to be cooked, ready and to be served at the counter. I hadn't touched this chippy in years since the big change. But started getting the mini fish and chips for £4 as it was a good price. Today they sold me a moldy cob. I had mini fish and chips from there a week ago. Chips very dry. Won't be going back

¡Decepcionado! Llamé para un café y pastel a las 4. ¡20 pm solo para que te digan que comas y bebas mientras cerramos en 10 minutos y te pedirán que te vayas en punto! Garden Center dice que cierra a las 5 pm, así que pensé que estaría bien! Llevaremos nuestra costumbre a otro lugar gracias!

Christmas Day lunch. 11 of us (6 adults and 5 kids). Absolutely wonderful. Food spot on. Service great. Enjoyed so much, booked for next Christmas.

Fue a la estafa absoluta del evento de brunch sin fondo Justin Bieber. £ 45 para este evento de 3 horas, sin embargo, el bottomless solo se mantuvo durante 1 hora. We visit Markeaton Park most Sundays and always call in to the orangery. We have always found it to be reasonably priced, latte consistently good, food tasty and good value. Stan and Charlie, our dogs love the dog sausages and get given biscuits by the staff. We find the staff pleasant and helpful. It is a good cafe for families, lovely seating area outdoors for fine days. The dogs are welcome inside and out the cafe too. There are many regular visitors each week.

Another in the chain but the premises are a tad disappointing/ The service, and coffee are great . Priced as usual for Costa

Food is OK,service can be slow if you are in a queue,although staff are pleasant enough.The menu is somewhat limited,and some items are not always available.

I rased a complaint regarding the deficiency of customer service,this was because I feel a member of staff came across as condescending. I came to the pub week late and the individual member of staff deal with me in an hostile manner. The words she spoke in a truculent way was" I am a nice person how dare you say that about me everyone here thinks I am nice" After this conversation the issue was razed with Champs management at first they gas light saying there was no female member of staff. After member conversation champs management admit she was the but say "this was total out of character "once again gas lighting the situashion. I took the issue higher it felt once again that champs overall did want to take customer service serusly.

Manager working tonight was extremely rude (had a manager badge on) Looked disgusted at the fact we wanted to order food a full hour before food finished because the chef was 'preoccupied' and she may have to cook it. Absolutely no manners when ordering food at the bar and then denied us service for dessert without explanation ( what we wanted was out of stock) but just gave us a flat out no. Ruined the experience completely. Nothing but praise for the young gentlemen (kip) working tonight however. Lovely service from him!
