Amazing place high quality food at good prices

Numerous times I have tried to ring to place an order and yet still never have answered the phone!

My grandchildren fetched a meal for three of us on Friday it was 4sausage/fish cake /family box of chips/gravy curry sauce and mushy peas came to £15+-the chips were awful had all them black eyes in them nearly threw them all away what a waste...

We order our food throuer uber eats so called and said can't do it due pizza machine broken. So we called the place direct and they said they would 30 mins and then got cancled we wasn't happy as we ordered in advice x

£2.60 for a small chips and peas mix, bargain. Went in about 1:30pm. Chips were fleshy cooked and peas were hot and mushy. Can recommend the small chips and peas. Decent little meal for not a lot of money.

I ordered this for our tea (i do like my food im not picky) But this was terrible the chips was hard and soft they was not fresh chips Curry and gravy sauce comes in a small cup i mean really small The beef burgers ive had lot better the taste was just ok. but ive seen more batter on a live cow than i did on my beef burger And to top it all £8 Delivery charge

This chip shop consistently forgets parts of the order, there is no care or attention to the service that they provide. The new prices increases are staggeringly steep and clearly not inline with other local chippys. Customer service is horrendous here. It used to be good but has gone down hill a lot recently. You would be better finding another takeaway/chip shop (there are lots to choose from in Heanor).

I popped in as I saw they had great vape offers inside. Really good selection and staff member was lovely.

Unfortunately my usual local chippy was closed, which meant i had to go the crest of a wave. I wanted a kebab, but that was a 20 minute wait, so decided to order the set meal mini fish with chips. This turned out to be a small fish cut in half with soggy chips. Not nice, if my local chippy is ever shut again, I'd rather go hungry.

RUDE!!! I ordered at 5oclock and it arrived at 6.40. After ringing the 1st time I was told they missed my order and would be 10 mins more. After ringing a second time the manager answered the phone. After working In hospitality for 15 years, its courtesy to offer something as compensation for being so late, so I asked for money off my order. The response I got was some ramblings about 80 shops and only 40 being open, it's a hot day and they're going out of their way for me. He also added "do you want your order or shall I give it away?" How bloody rude!! I have ordered there a few times because its convenient for us. I will not be ordering again...in fact...I will be warning people off that place!

Delivery 20 mins late, and most awful pizza ever had, no peppers, and pizza ordered was cheese and peppers! Would not recommend

This shop has a wide range of products, its a convenience store but also with a chip shop inside of it, which is pretty cool! However, the food isn't the best, and you can get very cramped inside the shop when there are a few customers.

I am a avid enjoyer of the crest of the wave meals, I pride my self in going ATLEAST twice a week purely for the outstanding food quality and the general chaotic atmosphere that surrounds the shop.

Used to be great when the old owners had it. Chips we're cold Fish under cooked. The shop is a mess being a news agents and chippy at the same time. Do yourself a favour and don't go

Making you wait 35 minuits for food when you order at the counter and its not busy is unacceptable. Been here twice now and the time before was the same 30mins for sausage and chips! Won't be back Staff don't seem to have a clue what's going on. Nip down to loscoe for a good chip shop

First and last time will be using your chippy. Bloody awful chips tasted like they had been there for hours and I mean 4 hours. Need to find another chip shop people this is the worst one I have ever taste tested.

Just got fish and chips for four adults delivered from crest of wave absolutely terrible chips wer skinny frozen ones all soggy and cold fish batter burnt and dried it was hard to cut never again from there waste of money

Small portions for the price. Chips sent in place of chicken breast and chicken nuggets sent instead of four pieces of chicken.

The worst ever, fish was the size of a kids mini fish, chips were hard. Cheesy chips well who puts the cheese in first and chips on top? What is that about ? This used to be a fantastic chippy but sadly no more. Will not be returning.

At first glances you would of thought you walked in a mini supermarket. Which is okay but not all of the cheap alcohol on display. Whilst some of the staff are quite nice there are some that never seem to smile. It's quite off. They have great meal deals and the pizza's are the best in town.

I don't normally post bad reviews, but this was particularly ridiculous. We ordered at 11:45 and Just Eat said our food would be with us at 12.45. At 12.30, we received a call from the restaurant telling us our food would arrive at 1.30, no explanation for the delay, and the man didn't wait to hear whether that was alright with us. At 1.45, the food hadn't arrived yet, so I called them back. The phone rang and rang before hanging up. 30 seconds later I got a text from just eat saying our food was on it's way. Remember- this is TWO HOURS after we ordered, over an hour after it was originally supposed to arrive, and fifteen minutes late. At 2.05 the food finally arrived, but it was lukewarm, and half the items we ordered were missing. I called the shop again. This time they picked up and told me the delivery driver was already on her way back and the food was in her car. This was obviously a lie, as she didn't come back until 2.30, IT WAS A DIFFERENT WOMAN, and this time the food was steaming hot (though very soggy). I reckon that the driver left half our food at the shop so they stuck it in the microwave and gave it to her to bring back. Completely unreal. Bottom line? Milkshake was great, cheesy chips were fine, but onion rings and chicken are uneatable. With a £12 delivery fee which we thought we'd splurge on for a special treat, what a total and complete disappointment. (Not to mention an offensive waste of money.) DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE.

Terrible food tasted reheated also had to wait ages while others who ordered after me we're being served.

We have been waiting two hours for our food to arrive with two hungry screaming kids, i called them up 15mins after the set delivery time to offer assistance if the driver was struggling to find my address, as although the property has been here for 7 years now it seems everyone is clueless as to where it is 🤔. They said they had no trouble finding it and were nearby, fast forward another 40mins, called them again to find out that they couldn't find my address so they won't be delivering my order. Its beyond a joke. Firstly dont lie and say the driver is alright and can find my address when we both know he can't, secondly dont lead me on to thinking I would be getting my food and not tell me of any difficulties prior me calling nearly an hour later! Its ridiculous and now at 7.56pm ive got to try and calm down two very hungry and annoyed children.

Ordered the family meal special and was pleasantly surprised by how much there was to it. The food was nice and staff were great. Recommended for all to try!

Great delivery time from this local chippy. They also do kebabs, pizza, burgers, so far more than your standard chippy. Everything is always nice a hot when it arrives and the delivery is always way ahead of the quoted time. We love the food always tasty, the fish is amazing and the batter is out of this world. The kebabs are very tasty too. Try them, wide range to choose from and speedy delivery 🚚👍

Called at Crest of wave this evening 25 minute wait and only 1 customer in front of me it seems that telephone orders take preference other customers calling in for smaller orders and those buying alcohol did not ware face covering even though they had signs saying face covering must be worn and numerous staff members were touching ther faces and touching cans and bottles and not washing hands o e delivery driver even came ouhis car and straight behind d counter and started to put food together for his next delivery YUK this place is all about the money and seems to forget the situation we ALL are in it seems profit before health and safety is the moto

My family ordered 4 meals this evening from the crest of the wave, however only 3 arrived. We phoned to inform them that one meal was missing. We asked for it to be delivered, the gentleman apologised and said he would have to speak to his manager. They phoned back and said they would not delivering the meal and they would not be giving us our money back. They said they would give us credit the next time we order. Who in their right mind ,With service like that!!! would order from there ever again? I believe this to be illegal taking you money not delivering the goods and refusing to give Your money back.

Ok... So the staff were friendly with me but the food was just terrible! It is like a half off licence and half chippy very strange. I have to be honest or improvements wont be made, the chips tasted like they were cooked the night before and reheated, very greasy and oily. The battered sausage was inedible and had to throw in the bin, batter just way too thick and takes the whole taste of the sausage away. Shame really, I wont be visiting again...

I used to eat from there and so did my mum sometimes we had a delivery service and sometimes we went inside it it is 50 50 weather you get great food it should be great all the time weather you go in and have it open or you have it delivered most of the time when you go in and and have it open it is better than having it delivered and when you was able to sit down it was better but having it delivered it is mostly terrible I had a lot of terrible food delivered than when I used to sit down or eat it open it was better when the other owners used to own it before it was sold the food is better to pick up yourself then it would be a 4 star from me but having it delivered or if you pick it up yourself and take it home then it is only 2 stars

Terrible customer service. Very rude staff. Terrible food that looks like it’s re-heated. Do yourself a favour and visit one of the other fish and chip shops Heanor has to offer.

Very rude staff. I feel like this place is for locals only. There was an blatant negative vide as soon as I entered. One member of staff particularly, a young teenage girl was extremely verbally rude. They need lessons on customer service. Skip this place and go to Codnor fish bar instead.

I would give them no stars if it was possible. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE, they take your money and don't send you the food you've paid for. Just had my order delivered an hour late..with 3 items missing..the shop told me I will get £10 off my order as they can't contact the delivery driver and the shop is now shut as they have run out of food. I am willing to be understanding as these are mad times with the coronavirus. I trust they will uphold their word.

Orderd food from here last night 10.12.19. They didnt bring half of are order. So then we waited another hour and 15 mins. Food was disgusting. Fish was hard and dry. Chips where very very over cooked. All in all i wont be comig back and advise others not to either

I ordered food yesterday that I have ordered before and in the past paid on card. But yesterday said I would pay by cod when it arrived it was at least £5.00 more and delivery not right. I will not use them again , shame. Loss of business.

Good price if you take away but the price jumps up for delivery

I regularly visit crest of the wave so I’ve sampled all of their menu. They’ve got such a wide range of food from pizza to kebab to fish and chips. I’ve never received a bad order. The food is always hot and the chips are always crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The pizza base is perfect thickness, not so thin that you can’t taste it but not so thick that it’s overbearing. Customer service is outstanding, the staff are always so friendly and give you your food very quickly. You can also order from this chippy using just eat and when I do this the order always comes quickly and is always as hot as if it was fresh out of the fryer.

Absolutely awful. After previously delivering they decide last minute that they don't feel like delivering. Deleting account as I now have hungry children waiting on a takeaway that actually has the customers values in mind. Why offer delivery via email and on line and not deliver, I thought a customer focus was important but obviously not in crest of waves case. Only when they feel like it. Thanks for nothing.

This use to be a great chippy. Its more like a corner shop now. Staff aren't particularly polite and the place doesn't really seem very clean or hygienic. As for the food, we'll it's not great, the chips are very greasy and soggy.

Excellent food and service every time. Added bonus I can buy a bottle of wine to go with my takeaway on a friday night. Top food, highly recommend.

Ordered online but when I went to collect said never received dispite having order number. Food was of very low quality especially the children's chicken chunks which appeared tiny, the chips definitely reheated & fishcake a bizarre brown colour inside

Have to say this place is pretty terrible, went in and they had no chips, had to wait over twenty minutes, decided to give it one more try the following week and they had chips.... But no fish, or sausage, or anything else actually. The staff are standing around waiting for the food whilst the boss is too busy sorting alcohol out in the fridges and for takeaway. Not really the staffs fault from what I could see they were embarrassed. Shame as it used to be a really good chippy.

My favorite fish and chip shop takes some beating. always fresh and piping hot staff very friendly can buy to take out or go in restaurant sooo yummy highly recommend
