Staff are really friendly and very supportive with people with disabilities.

Good atmosphere. Manager is very interactive with customers. Staff are supportive of my friends with disabilities and also patient with them.

Good value for money. I have enjoyed all my visits there

Lovely pub but really need more staff as waiting time to be served took a while two staff behind the bar one doing the app the other serving really didn't work need extra as ut was very busy

Great food & staff. use it quite often .garden is a bit of a suntrap in the warmer months

The staff are absolutely useless. A complete clown show and alot of the times the food is cold. I don't have high expectations of wetherspoon but this is way below that.

We visited the red lion at the weekend for some lunch, we found a booth which had some plates still on it from the previous customers, my partner went and asked if someone could clear the table to which the lady she spoke to said I will when I get chance, she came over and started clearing the plates but she was banging about in a bit of an aggressive manner and with an annoyed look to her, she went off and started serving drinks drinks and left the table with food on it from the previous customers, I went to ask her if she could wipe the table for me, she moaned that she was busy and she kind of reluctantly wiped the table with the cloth she had in her hand, she didn't spray the table with any cleaner and did a poor job leaving some areas still dirty, I said to her there's no need to be rude to us, she said that there were other clean tables we could of sat at rather than one that needed cleaning and walked off. I went to find the manager, I explained what had happened, he said, I think I know who you are talking about, I then pointed her out to him, he came over to clean the table properly and apologised on her behalf and said, I think she's a bit tired and said he had took her off the floor and put her behind the bar.

Not sure what's happened to this place, always lively and busy but the food is awful now, just thrown on a plate and looks so unappetising and sad!! I know it's cheap and basic but a bit of presentation wouldn't go amiss. The beer is OK and the minimal staff try their best, they all look fed up and disheartened, not very clean anywhere.......

It's like marmite... you either like Wetherspoons or you don't. As a place for a quick bite to eat with minimum fuss it's an OK experience. On this occasion... no eggs though and you would be surprised how many dishes need eggs 😀

Love Alan, he's sooo professional and really efficient , he works really hard and is always smiling,he goes the extra mile to be polite to all customers, he's a real asset to wetherspoons,they are lucky to have him! Thanks to all the other staff too, they work really hard to keep it going,weekends can be under staffed and they are under pressure but do their best to please customers. Rob well done too,Good old Ripley wetherspoons 👍

Red lion clean and tidy, soon served. Coffee machines failed miserably both served lukewarm drinks as they did on two previous visits. Mentioned to staff nothing been done.

I came in today with my family and my disabled son, a very unpleasant customer and made a complaint about my son stemming He was being loud but he wasn’t disturbing anybody. The manager that was on shift on the 23rd of January at 12 o’clock dealt with the situation amazing room and I cannot thank him enough for understanding he was about my son.

Food was nice , was a party of 8 Everyone enjoyed there meal . Atmosphere isn't great , seating is open n your close to others .

This Wetherspoons is a lively pub with really good prices the downfall I have is not enough staff it’s a very large pub and you are often waiting a long time to be served but the staff do try their best they just need some extra help , I love their breakfasts very tasty and good prices , with the cost of living crisis it is a great way to still go out for a treat and not worry about over spending

Service was OK and staff seemed nice. Food was good for a very busy Saturday evening. Its just a good wetherspoons to visit.

Usually the food is good...However after this trip I'm starting to Question if its Going down hill? (GAMMON) came with ice cold peas and cold egg. (STEAK "Meduim Rare) was blue/Rare. Asked for it to be re-done and came back Well-Done. Also saw multiple dishes from other customers being returned. Will come back again and that will be the decider if Weather-spoons stays on the map or not.

Disgusting place. Pay for a breakfast, wait 40 minutes then literally walk away because of hunger and end up paying again for a burger van to provide food. Never will I spend another penny at wetherspoons. They can't even bother to clean their toilets.

A lot of people moan about Spoons, but for the price, it's value for money . Beer in this particular Spoons is usually pretty good.

Very friendly landlord and staff. Food and beer was excellent and arrived very promptly. Free parking. Clean bathrooms.

Had breakfast here today 8/9 was cold . Lady with glasses came to get the plate asked if everything was OK told her it was all cold all she said was sorry and took the plate . Didn't even try and resolve it . Won't be returning

Don't overstay your welcome people. That wasn't a cheap family meal in the end.

The first time I went to the Red lion and waited 20 minutes and then I got told that they have no gas so I couldn't have a pint only a bottle. Alan come back and run the pub

I'm not going to complain about the staff because they are always pleasant enough. The place is just filthy. Carpets, chairs, toilets. It needs a refresh. Plus, they never have the pitcher I want. Go in for one drink because they're cheap and leave.

This is the place to be for a great atmosphere, good food and drink for a good price. However I wish the staff would concentrate more on maintaining the coffee machines. Disappointed by being left with machines down because the milk and chocolate has run out.

Kick out time for under 18s (bearing in mind the person with us was 3 months off 18 and not a kid)- is 7pm not sure why this is for health and safety reasons and the online policy for this company is 9pm, the angry aggressive condescending man who implements this needs a lesson in costumer service plus the power trip he was on seriously it’s a Wetherspoons….get some prospective!! Let’s see this “ health and safety policy for under 18s in Ripley”!! Thank for ruining a good evening!! I would go to any-other pub in Ripley but here!!! I hope Tim Martin pays this place a visit to see how bad the staff really are……! Oh one last thing what is a glass washer for?- you sure don’t clean glasses in it!

The food is exactly what you'd expect from a Wetherspoons - very average, but it's cheap, edible & cooked properly (or at least ours was), so it fills a hole, as they say. During our visit, my friend ordered everything via the app, which didn't seem very user-friendly and only notified her that our first choices of food was unavailable as she tried to place the order, so we had to start again and choose other options, meaning it took much longer than it should have done. The service we received during our visit was poor and quite frankly, odd! Firstly, the food arrived before our drinks which was bizarre and my friend also ordered a side portion of cheese for me, as I felt particularly hungry and wanted to sprinkle it over my chips. When we noticed the extra cheese missing as our meals were served to us, my friend mentioned this to the server, who advised that his colleague in the kitchen didn't know whether I wanted the portion of cheese grated in a bowl, or just adding as an extra slice of cheese on my BBQ chicken, which already comes with 1 x slice...Obviously, the former was what I wanted, but since the member of staff in the kitchen made an incorrect assumption, instead of asking one of the serving staff to check with me like she should've done, I received the latter. It didn't seem worth making a fuss about a bit of cheese, so I let it go, especially because I highly doubt it would have gotten me anywhere anyway. Lastly, just to top off the bad service, I ordered two drinks - a soft drink and cup of tea. The hot drinks at this branch of Wetherspoons are refillable, so you're usually just given a mug and the rest is self-service, yet the same server who delivered our meals returned with the drinks, including my mug of tea, which already had a teabag in it and was filled with hot water, so when I asked him about the milk, he told to go and get it from the hot drinks station by the bar and said he hadn't brought me any, because he didn't know if I wanted it. Again, he should've asked if I needed milk and / or sugar, especially since he elected to put the teabag in the mug and fill it up with hot water for me in the first place. I understand that this is Spoons and you don't expect five star service. Plus, for all I know, it could have been this poor lad's first day, but the lack of customer service / communication skills both amongst staff + between them and customers is embarrassing. This always boils down to bad management, so please train your staff properly!

Food was nice, however I didn't realise that the pizza was thin crust. Would go again but would order something a bit more filling next time

Terrible meal, had sirloin steak, which was very grisly. My friend ordered the Barrito which she sent back as it wasnt prepared as menu. Second one was just about ok.

Could do with a good clean. Staff seem disinterested. Slow service. Food not as good as other Wetherspoon's pubs I have visited recently. Update, service has got worse and the place has got dirtier.

My daughter went there for lunch, and ordered a separate meal to go with the sauces they said yes no problem extra £1 for sauce and once she was done eating come to place the order they refusing to give the sauce, because the tiny pots that get delivered weren't delivered, dont say you can, when you can't.

I know it’s a Wetherspoons with all the usual stuff like a good selection of sensibly priced beer, but had much better than usual food here.

The Red Lion in Ripley has a small car park (max stay 2 hours) and indoor and outdoor seating. It is right next to Ripley Market Place and is just across the road from the town's main bus stops. We had a Spicy Meat Feast Pizza and a Vegetarian All Day Brunch and both were hot and delicious. The toilets are upstairs and there is an accessible one on the ground floor as well.

A nice place to eat & drink,the table & chairs are close together, me & my mum go weekly for lunch & a drink

Went to the Red Lion this morning for a family breakfast to celebrate our daughter's birthday . Because there were 8 of us plus a baby when we arrived we moved a couple of tables together and grabbed a high chair ,only after we had all been sat for a while deciding what to have we were told in a very rude manner that we all had to move as we were blocking the fire exit . As we were nowhere near it we pointed out the fact that there was still plenty of room around the exit to be told he "deemed it to be blocked" so we had to move . We then asked him where else we could all fit together and not be in the way we just got no response the only other thing we heard was "Ive told you once " .Considering we had two children with us this was no way to speak to us we didn't deserve it . My husband asked if he was the manager to which he replied "one of "and told him he needed to learn to speak to customers better and was so disgusted he swore at him to be told that he is not welcome in that establishment again . If he had spoken to us in a civil manner all of that could have been avoided . We went elsewhere and received much better and friendlier service .

Had an absolutely lovely meal with my partner, the service was fantastic, the duty manager there on Sunday was absolutely lovely. Thank you! 10/10 cannot recommend enough, the food was so so nice & such good value for money too.

The Red lion is a stop off for breakfast for myself and the family often. If you get there early and get the pick of the tables then you are not going to be disappointed. The traditional breakfast in Wetherspoons is the usual game of Russian roulette as to which parts of the meal will be hot and which will be cool. The bookies favourite for chilly is ALWAYS the beans. However the breakfast in Ripley has rarely been a cause for concern, hence the frequent visits. Ripley itself is a nice little town worth popping your head into and so start your day off with a bite to eat at The Red lion.

Drunks at 0930 in the morning. Should expect it at a Wetherspoons but does ruin your breakfast when they are shouting and fing and blinding.

Lovely place but limited parking. Food was very good, just could've been warmer. Cheaper breakfast and hot drinks than any other Weatherspoon's I've visited. It was clean, as were the toilets, which is a nice change from most places these days The staff were very friendly, lovely and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place 👍🏼

Had no cheese or ham, no hot chocolate, then asked for lemon and lime drink, had no lime so decided to have malibu and coke, and guess what no malibu.....absolutely ridiculous

Does not even deserve that.. Ordered a jacket potato with Tuna mayo.. wasnt even tuna mayo.. no mayo. The tuna had just been thrown on top as if it had just come out the tin the the potato looked like it had come out of the waste bin was bought to the table I put my fork into it put some into my mouth it was stone cold.. my partner (who is a chef/ cook.. took it back the staff denied and would not accept responsibility and no appology.. how a food establishment can get away serving food like that is wrong..

The food I ordered was absolutely stone cold. The cook or chef. Which I take is a cook. A chef would not let food go out like that. I will not eat in this establishment again I bought it was filth. I Don’t know what food rating it as. But I hope it’s a two. Or maybe a one If not as a rating at all

No mixed grill at wetherspoons what a joke

Popped here for a late morning brunch, that particular morning there were just two members of staff working downstairs.one of the staff explained they were several managers and staff down that week. However this member of staff was really friendly and was dashing about to do the work of several people . Despite being under pressure his demeanour was still bright and he worked very quickly and effectively. I think this man needs a pay rise, he is an asset to your team. The food is what you would expect for the money you pay , it was pretty good . The atmosphere was pleasant, and the staff were doing there best to keep on top of the maintenance /day to day work.

I am new to this area and I didn’t know that this fantastic place existed, as I’m disabled and I can just about walk with crutches, as soon as I was seated and my colleague got me a cup of tea he then had to leave for a few hours. Within an hour a member of staff came to me and and asked me if would like another cup of tea, a while later a different member of staff came to make sure I was ok. The staff are absolutely amazing, nothing seems to be any trouble whatsoever. I’m sure a lot of other Witherspoons staff could learn the fantastic customer service that I have experienced here.

Not salubrious, but ok , great prices for breakfast . Refillable,tea ,coffee, hot choc, We had traditional breakfast , which was sausage ,bacon, egg,hash browns , beans ,toast. £3.50 There are a selection of reasonable priced breakfast muffins You could have a large breakfast for £6.25 for double the traditional with mushrooms too. So for Traditional breakfast for 2 plus drinks £8.50 bargain .

We met some friends here for a pre-christmas catch up. We know what to expect from a Spoons by now and this was no different. Cheap and cheerful food, super quick service, nothing amazing. There is limited parking at the back of the pub where you can park free for 2 hours. Plenty of other parking available in the area too. We ordered off the Christmas menu. Very basic turkey meal. First Xmas meal without a sprout in sight. My other half had the burger. He said it was ok, but could have done with more chips. The plates are too big for the amount of food they put on them! Nice enough pub if you're out and about on the Spoons trail and want a simple bite to eat.

Enjoyed food earlier...let down by non arrival of children's ice cream Waited over 30 mins but had to leave as car park time was running out...children weren't happy 🤨

Needs updating and a good clean.
