Another in the chain but the premises are a tad disappointing/ The service, and coffee are great . Priced as usual for Costa

I don't understand how they've just charged someone a small latte but I've seen the barista giving out a large size to the customer. I was in line and asked if I could have the same but was told it was a special case for the lady who comes in regularly. This kind of thing makes me upset. They are stealing from the company. Giving a size up from what the person paid for while I was in the line. But they need to do this for everyone and they have not.

We were the only customers in Costa, Wellingborough outside Swansgate, about 10 days ago, when we visited one Saturday - 11 July. A surly male barista was not pleasant and made us feel quite unwelcome. We were told we could not use our loyalty card under Covid-19 restrictions. We were told to do the app. We afterwards found advertising about app, which could have been explained better. I pointed out that coffee chain Bewiched were open as a cafe, opposite and there was no feedback as to when Costa, Wellingborough was starting back as a cafe. After a visit to Peterborough Costa,this week, which was a very customer friendly experience. The Barista there used very covid-19 friendly way wearing gloves and a tray to activate our card, which was very welcome. They made us welcome and directed us to seating and gave us an additional requested cup of water.

I had a VERY stale croissant, disgusting but couldn't be bothered complaining as the staff couldn't care less. Never again.

What a lovely hot chocolate I had here. They even put a marshmallow in my sons hot chocolate. All very nice thank you.

Great coffee as you would expect but staff quite slow and robotic. Tables are a little sticky from time to time.

The Best Costa In Wellingborough the Other One Being IN the Swansgate Hard Friendly Working Staff Nice Hot Drinks Which Are Actually Hot

Meeting place for the less fortunate in the town. This does make you feel nervous in going to the cafe. better Costa inside the market.

Called in here on Sunday for a quick coffee with the grandchildren. The store is clean, bright and cheerful. The staff are clearly under pressure as it is a very busy store that appears to be under staffed. Unlike some Costa stores 'extras' do not seem to be pushed, we were not asked if we wanted and extra shot or a bottle of water. The cakes and sandwiches are well displayed and looked tempting. Unlike other reviewers here I would say it is one of the better of its type and trying hard to improve even further. Under new management maybe?

Arrived for some take away coffees to find the queue almost out if the door. The cafe itself was a mess, tables hadn’t been emptied, trays piled high everywhere with used cups etc. The 2 ladies behind the counter couldn’t keep up and had run out of knives, cups, everything. Just a real mess! Not many other options in the town so I guess people will just have to go back.

With Costa Coffee, you know what you are getting but then you go to this Wellingborough cafe and it's not the usual standard. Pretty awful. From the service at the counter when ordering drinks. Everyone seems to be angry and unhelpful. To the drinks which were not quite what we ordered but we accepted it but made a note not to return. The cafe is very dirty, the toilets awful to the point that I didn't want to take my toddler in. I certainly wouldn't want to return and sadly wouldn't recommend.

I will not be returning here. Costa is supposed to be a relaxed environment, Wellingborough town centre Costa is a state. Tables not cleared, ran out of a lot of things, staff abrupt, smokers all around the door at the front, toilet not flushing properly. It’s just not what you expect

Called here for drinks and toast this morning 5th June 2018. First time here for some time and its a joke. Wasn't busy at all but the staff were so slow with everything they did. Ordered 2 large lattees but did the milk one at a time then only put the coffee up for filtration after the milk was in the cup, and the coffee was horrible to say the least. Tables were uncleared and floor dirty. Staff were not very customer friendly with no hello or a thankyou.. When down at our daughters we will not visit here again.

Unfortunately this Costa has gone down hill. Tables were rarely cleaned and not well stocked with cakes etc either You have to walk through loads of people and plumes of cigarette smoke at the entrance and unfortunately just goes down hill from there on in

Bit of a dissapointing coffee for a costa. Whether it was because I was first in in the morning. Had capuchino which was only half a cup of coffee and half a cup of foam.

Always a nice place to come and enjoy a great cup of cappuccino with comfortable tables and free internet .

Didn't immediately realise this was a Costa as it is a 'Pop Up' style coffee outlet and clearly franchised (confirmed by the receipt which says it is 3D Coffee T/A Costa Coffee).

I would recommend Costa as I love there Costa light it lovely. We are waiting for a refurb then it will be excellent and I will be very happy

While on our way to Dover, the 3 of us, partner, 21 year-old daughter and I stopped off for coffee at Costa. As always, the coffee and desserts were excellent.

El personal no tienen ningún interés en su trabajo y su indiferencia hacia los clientes las fronteras en la grosería, te hacen sentir como un obstáculo enorme. La limpieza no sentarse cerca de la parte superior de la lista de arriba, una gran tienda con muchas mesas, pero ninguno de las mesas disponibles estaban limpias y ordenadas. Me acomodé en la mesa menos desordenado y caminamos hasta el mostrador para pedir que las tazas sucias y platillos se pueden quitar. Afortunadamente había tres personas haciendo nada así que mi petición se realizó una vez que habían terminado de hablar sobre cómo borrachos inadecuadamente que pretendían conseguir esa noche. La guinda del pastel vino al lado. La chica mal mi pedido, no sólo un poco mal, completamente equivocados. Pedí un café con leche grande con extra shot y me dieron un chocolate caliente. Soy bastante relajada, todo lo que requiere de una tienda de café Costa es un lugar limpio para sentarse, un personal cortés que saben lo que están haciendo, y por último, pero no menos importante, la correcta restauración. Ninguno de estos problemas son insuperables, son un pequeño esfuerzo y algo más de formación personal que se necesita. Ah, sí, el wc era una copia para el retrete en trainspotting, la situación sería grave antes de que yo mismo expuesto a la pestilencia. Mi consejo es que nip y usar el loos junto a los ascensores en el interior del centro comercial. Una experiencia decepcionante

But better than last visit. Chicken salad gluten free sandwich was really nice and the coffee was reasonably served. Tables and trays still messy.

Era muy desorganizado, servidores presionado y por todas partes, mesas de café slopping necesitaba aclarar, puerta abierta como soleado pero los fumadores de contaminar la actual cafetería. Café más débiles. Lo mejor era el bocadillo de ensalada de pollo. Sólo tenía hora del almuerzo que se convirtió en media hora. Lástima como ha sido buena

I visited again today. My friend and I ordered a cappuccino and a tea. A young man took our order, then turned away to give the order to whoever was making the drinks. Fair enough. Next thing he was leaving the bar to take drinks to seated customers. He didn't say 'excuse me' or anything - just walked off. When he returned we were finally able to pay. None of the other staff (there were two women and another young man behind the bar) offered to help us in any way

went in for a coffee as I had heard how good it was. I have to say it was only so-so. but the staff were pleasant and helpful and the sandwiches were lovely.

Went in for a quick coffee and a cake, I wont be returning anytime some!!!!The place was not clean, tables not cleared,under staffed only two behind taking orders and making coffee with people waiting.The chap making the coffee was slap hazard even dropping the coffee grinds holder on the floor and then just carrying on using it ,not very hygienic? His work space was disgusting not clean at all,pilled up with split coffee grounds I think . And on making my latte I could see the coffee pouring down the outside of my cup and into the drip tray (effectively giving me less coffee) he poured this into my milk,so in effect the latte was very weak. I pointed this out and he was argumentative about it saying it was alright. I insisted he replace it with another he reluctantly did.I was not impressed and wont return here.

Good quality cakes, coffee, hot chocolate etc. Wheelchair access. Reasonably prices, pleasant staff.

the premises are large airy and frankly bland. The [product is just as any other in the chain. Staff have been fairly un remarkable

I've been in here a couple of times recently with a friend and the coffee, as in all Costas, is fine. However both times I've been here the shop has been understaffed and those present are, to say the least, surly. Today a young woman took our order and then without a word walked off to make our drinks. Not so much as "excuse me, I'll be right back". Nothing. She didn't ask for payment, didn't ask if my friend who was paying had a Costa card, just walked off. Then, when she returned with the drinks it was apparently my friend's fault that her card wouldn't scan as she was quite off with her about it.But the staff attitude is really good compared to the disgusting state of both toilets.

Very disappointed with this costa as the staff didn't seem like they could cope with the orders as they got my order wrong on the first time and then the second time when I corrected them, then when we received our drinks the tea pot was so dirty we sent it back only to get another slightly less dirty pot , the hot chocolate was also tasteless , I wouldn't recommend!!!!

I took pot luck because I was desperate for a coffee.Really typical of recent visits to Costa was the immediate visual impact of a tired and depressing cafe that could do with a serious makeover. It reflected how Wellingborough appears; it's hey day long since past. However, on a brighter note, the coffee was reliable and prepared with courtesy; after had queued for 10 minutes. It seemed that they didn't have sufficient percolators to meet the demand. Overall it was OK but only clean enough to meet the bare minimum required IMO. The one operational toilet of two was clean and did look like it was regularly inspected.I would go back if there was nowhere else decent nearby but a bit reluctantly I am afraid.

Sorry but not often do you go somewhere that is such a shambles I know it is only coffee and the only reason for the post is in the hope the management may read this as it is to help them.First of all the order had to be reiterated to the barista as the girl who took the order did not take it correct, unfortunately for someone with a dairy intolerance the soya part is quite important for the sake of a button (I imagine) the stomach would have wiped out my better half.10 minutes later we received the wrong coffee ok can happen but after 10 minutes would kind of hope it was right, another 10 minutes and received the correct drinkTo the manager in the twenty minutes all of the army waiting for a drink were extremely discontent with the service I witnessed three incorrect orders trying to be served, like I say no skin off my nose but thought I would share the experience if it helps you in any way.

The drinks were good and made properly (our son works for Costa) unlike a lot of franchises. We had to clean our own table as all the empty tables had dirty cups etc. Place lacked the usual Costa atmosphere. The toilets needed a deep clean - no loo rolls - absolutely filthy. Attitude of manager when pointed out was along the lines of oh well. Worst we have seen anywhere including stations and motorway services.

As Costa is a chain, you have expectations as to what this cafe looks like and the products that are on offer. These are all met and the staff are friendly.

Love coffee, love Costa coffee, place a bit low on atmosphere, just a bit sad really in comparison to the new S'bucks!

Everyone who loves coffee will come to Costa its just the way it is, coffee is very nice.Customer service is appalling unfortunately, the young workers in Costa just seem to think everything is funny, and they are not very helpful. We may aswell get paid for coming into this establishment due to the amount of tables we have to clean ourselves. Dirt, Muck, Old cups you name it its on there. But is it really that difficult? I mean the amount of staff you have behind the counter you would think one would just go off to clean a table? I frequently use this establishment when in Wellingborough. It is typical in furnishing etc to other Cost outlets. The staff are more efficient and friendly than other local Costsa`s. Tables are cleared and cleaned frequently and it is usually busy. Good place for an excellent Late etc and a snack.

I dropped in for a coffee with a friend and as usual, the coffee was lovely. The coffee shop was very busy as usual

I do find Costas are very similar in terms of the standard & taste of the food served so it is difficult to review them other than to say they are universally above average in my opinion. Where they can differ is in terms of friendliness of staff table clearing efficiency and toilet cleanliness from well kept to downright filth. Im pleased to say in my experience this particular Costa is generally above average across the board and therefore Im happy to use it knowing it is kept clean looked after and Im not likely to get surprises in the sanitary areas!!

My partner and young child fancied a coffee and cake after some boxing day shopping, and so went into Costa. Boy what a mistake. Initially I attempted to pay with a northern Irish £20 note only to be told that head office policy is not to accept this money. OK, no problem will use English cash instead. However don't then giggle and discuss this as being something humorous in front of other customers and within my earshot. This is disgraceful behaviour. Then to really put the icing on the cake we also bought, you thought that cleaning the filters in your air conditioning units in the ceiling, would be a good idea while the store was open with customers at tables next to where you were working. Where were the warning signs?. Where was the consideration for members of the public.? Where was the demonstration in basic health and safety for the poor young girl who had been told to climb the ladder to put a filter back on, despite being clearly too short and all to obviously shaking whilst up the ladder. Photos have been uploaded to demonstrate the stupidity displayed and will also be sent to your head office. I won't expect any kind of management response, given the lack of experienced customer service skills on display during my visit. Whilst I can live with a bad experience, continuing to behave in such a reckless way in climbing ladders may mean that one of your staff or a member of the public has a considerably worse experience.

I have not been to Costa Coffee for a long time, but I went today with a friend for a coffee and a chat. It was fairly full with a queue to be served. The service was quick and efficient and the Latte was smashing. Recommended.

I'm fed up of having to clear dirty tables, I saw one female employee laugh behind a customers back with another employee when the customer brought back a dirty tray from a table where she wanted to sit.Outside tables were filthy with rubbish all over the floor, we had to take stuff inside as all the paper cups were blowing everywhere.The staff - the females are surely, we are doing them a favour by being there. I am not sure why the manager allows the females to have their long hair flying everywhere (even though he is there working with them - is he not aware of health regulations) The female who served me way toying with her hair whilst stood waiting for my coffee to filter. The same female then lent over into the part of the counter where the pastries are and her hair touched the croissants. There is another female who is a bit older with tattoos all the way up her arms, I mean it's just awful.We will not return, we will go to bewitched which is an independent 5 mins walk awayI just cannot understand why people put up with this level of service. Just appalling.

Over priced food and coffee , served bye staff who cannot even try to smile or be civil, The coffee was appalling the cake was dry. One place I will avoid in the future.

I enjoy popping to Costa whilst I am in the centre. It all started after I had my son & I needed to warm his bottle. I ordered a coffee & asked if I could heat the bottle. The staff were more than happy to bring over a large mug of boiling water, they also helped me to my table. I was so impressed with their service & tasty coffee that I haven't stopped going there. The coffee is always hot, the range of cakes & sandwiches are excellent. The staff are always so friendly & more than happy to help. The only thing that let's it down from time to time is the tidiness of the place. On occasions tables have sat dirty with rubbish & used cups from previous customers for longer than I believe they should, especially the outside area. If you asked the staff they do apologise & tidy it straight away.However this hasn't been enough to put me off going

Always use Costa but the franchisee of this one, 3D coffee needs to spend a bit more on staff training, keeping the place clean as it isn't, and teaching the staff to smile occasionally !!

Quick service,friendly staff,very clean,plenty of room for wheelchair users and prams,cakes and sweets are great,also child friendly,highly recommend

I use Costa a lot and quality of coffee etc is always good but the service at this branch is very slow. The work area seems too small to meet the number of orders. The staff try their best but it can be very time consuming waiting for your drink on occasions.

Love costa coffee, but always slow service, lots of staff who seem to be busy but not being very affective at getting the customers served quickly enough

I don't have haven't ever had a problem with this service here in wellingborough I would rather go here than BBs in the center or any others the staff are helpful especially the manager and staff I couldn't fault them on anything all would and will Defo be going as I always do and wouldn't hesitate to take a friend ect with me

The staff couldn't keep up with the orders, they then got a simple 2 drinks 2 snack order wrong. Tables weren't clean, the music was turned up so loud that everyone felt the need to shout just so that the person across the table from them could hear them. Don't lets even start on Costa's prices...I will not be using Costa in Wellingborough again, unless The Deli, Olivers and Bewiched have shut down and no other suitable establishment has started trading (...and my legs are broken with no way of getting home and having a cuppa there)
