We have visited here a couple of times for afternoon drinks, and on both occasions, we have received a lovely, warm welcome from the landlady, Jo. We will be back to eat next time, as the food selection looks delicious. Its good to know that takeaway is also available. The Red Lion, is a real asset to Bozeat and we look forward to our next visit Thanks Again.😊

Popped in as we happened to be local and needed a quick lunch. Brilliantly welcoming landlady, decent sausage and mash with mustard gravy and a well kept pint of Timothy Taylor's Landlord for about £15. Wish it was in our village! Chatted to the landlady, whose grandparents had the pub in the late seventies/early eighties, so she has a real passion for the place as well as it being her business. Impressive menu for a small village pub, will definitely come back.

Me and a pal dropped in for a pint and a plate of sausage and mash each. We'd been to collect his motorcycle from Cooperb, which is two minutes away. We were made to feel very welcome, not least by Reggie the dog. Enjoyed a decent pint of Landlord and a grand lunch. The place is warm, inviting and clean.

We had a lovely lunch at the Red Lion today with friends. There was a nice Vegetarian Wellington on the menu usually for Sunday roasts but the lady was so obliging and offered that for today (Tuesday), I’m so glad she did it was extremely good. The pub signage claims they serve tea and coffee. They don't. They can't get the coffee machine to work. There are intrusive roadworks currently underway that make the forecourt (pictured) a dangerous place to pull up. When my ninety-five year old father and I pulled up and I went in to order we were told the coffee machine wasn't working. So, the barmaid took our order for a white wine instead. When I asked what beers they had she demanded we put on masks. Both of us are exempt. We were going to sit outside anyway. Evidently, this pub forces customers to wear masks even when they're outside! We were so appalled by her rude, dictatorial attitude that we made straight for the car to leave. Given that my dad is 95, we had to make our way back across the forecourt to the car quite carefully. We couldn't believe it when - not content with the upset she had already caused by refusing to serve us - the barmaid then came out on to the forecourt as we were driving away to wave us goodbye! It beggars belief that this pub pretends to be engaged in the hospitality industry. We were utterly disgusted and would advise everyone to drive straight past and give this outlet a wide berth.

I have to give an extra thumbs up for the homemade steak and ale pie I had. Not only did it taste great but I was genuinely shocked by the amount of meat and the quality of the meat inside the pie. The Red Lion is pleasant and friendly, though without any particular character or charm to make it a place I would go out of my way to frequent. Its strongest point is the range of beers, with 3 real ales on tap. When I was in, there was the ordinary but drinkable Greene King IPA, Timothy Taylor's Landlord (which is very popular with ale drinkers) and my personal favourite - Adnams Broadside. So worth a stop if you happen to be in Bozeat.

A couple of fruity ciders from the current promotion went perfectly with the food. Great welcome, friendly faces & nice place to while away an hour or two. The pub also holds regular quizzes, meat raffles & themed disco nights. Live bands also play on a regular basis. I take great exception to MKsun of Milton Keynes calling us "rowdy locals" & if that is your opinion of a friendly village pub then your statement of "visitors are not welcome at all" certainly applies to you. Perhaps you should call in again, the pub is under new management (since May 2017) & is back to being the heart of the village with its unique character (and characters) - you never know, you might enjoy the company of us rowdy village folk.

Not complaint about food but question what product is used to clean tables. Was there today in lunch hour where met friend. When got back to office in town at 2.00 noticed that the left of lower of black sleeved sweater was discoloured as if bleached. It was not like that before lunch. It can only have happened after young lady had wiped table down with spray. Sweater that was expensive (Ted Baker) is ruined. A therefore expensive jacket potato!

The staff were friendly and helpful. The accommodation had been recently modernised. The breakfast was adequate, though its presentation lacked care and attention to detail. Sadly the hotel is in need of basic maintenance: our toilet and shower did not work properly so we had to be given access to another room. Two of our room windows were screwed shut, and the hardware on the third window, which did open, was hanging off. There was mould on the shower tile grouting. The entrance to our room, directly from the courtyard car park, needed to be swept and weeded.

We decided to come here for a birthday lunch. The table had been reserved which we strongly recommend if you are visiting during the weekend. We decided on the two cocktails offer and two large carvery’s. We we both wished we had chosen the standard size. There was a choice of beef and gammon with the usual trimmings and plenty of vegetables to choose from or try all. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. The meat was cooked perfectly and the Yorkshire, roasted potatoes and parsnips, cauliflower cheese, mash, green beans, cabbage, stuffing and gravy were all perfect. Highly recommend at £8.99 for a standard and £10.99 for a large, it was exceptional value. We will definitely be back for the carvery.
