Amazing food staff lovely had lovely food was very good

On arrival parking was plenty, It was a Sunday and quite busy but they found a table for the 2 of us. They do a Sunday Carvery, which did look pretty inviting, but we just went for something on the menu. Food and drink were ordered at the bar. Wait for the food wasn't too long, I had the Curry feast, and the wife had Chilli Halloumi, both meals were very nice. This place has quite a large table capacity. It has a play area and an outside section. I personally didn't think the prices were too bad compared to some places.

Their breakfasts are also excellent. Excellent Sunday lunch there today.

Food was lovely. Good variety of choices on the new menu. Sharon and the other staff are brilliant 👍

Good atmosphere, staff were friendly and helpful, food was cooked to perfection, especially the pork tomahawk

Menu is better than food that arrived. I had pie and mash but mash was poor and pie had little filling. Peas cold. I couldn’t eat it all even though was hungry. Partners food was nowhere as good. Limp cold chips and burger was small. The difference between our portions were significant for same price, partner had way less food. There was no atmosphere as diners spread so thin across pub. I know we didn’t pay a fortune but what we got was less than I’d expect from a bargain basement food van at a car boot. We have decided it’s a no go for breakfast or meals now.

We came for a meeting and decided to stay for lunch after and try the new menu! Pork Tomahawk cooked to absolute perfection will definitely be having this again Nicola very welcoming and recommended the new dish and Hannah very lovely and checking up on us to make sure everything is ok, perfect visit

Very pleasant, ideal for a family meal, not too expensive. Carvery was lovely , although a little bit on the cold side, understandable due to waiting for others to fill their plates! Staff were very pleasant and welcoming. Enjoyable afternoon. We outstayed our given time slot and this was not a problem . Thank you

Me and my family came here last night for a meal honestly the meal was ever so great, 1 had a burger couldn't remember what it was called 2 had the mixed grill 1 had the mega mixed grill and scampi and chips the onion rings were wonderful the drinks especially the Coors was very nice then 3 had Cadbury Sundae and 1 had chocolate brownie, the whole night was very nice and I'd definete consider returning here in the future, highly recommended, thanks very much

Price point, venue and staff were all friendly. Some of the food was a bit hit and miss but in general was ok. Food also took quite a while to come out, nearly an hour is quite a long time.

Perfect place to spend time with the family for dinner or lunch. The breakfast is also delicious. Fuzzy Edds is a very good place for the kids to play, especially with the cold weather outside.

Went here for Sunday morning buffet breakfast. It was packed but the food is nice

Booked a table, early slot, thought that we may get better service being early. We were put in the function room that has seen better days. Holes in the walls, sellotape and blue tak randomly around the room, Christmas decorations still up, telly not on, no music, chipped paint, cold and dark. Very odd atmosphere. Not sure why we were stuck in there, masses of empty tables in nicer parts of the restaurant. Which were still empty when we left hours later. Waited ages for the second course to come out over cooked and only just warm. The wine offer was out of stock, which was the main reason for coming. Cole was flat. We couldn’t use the voucher on the app, so had to queue up and order with a very grumpy lady, that never smiled once. We won’t bother coming back, we will save the petrol and I wish we had gone to Toby carvery instead!

When we walked in, we had to queue at the bar to tell them that we had even arrived, there was no one around to seat us, no sign to say go to the bar, very poor. We were then shoved on a round table with a high chair, and another chair wedged in at the end, it simply did not fit, we should never have been placed on this table. There isn't much service here so would not comment on that, all the people we saw were lovely however you do everything yourself. The food itself was okay, no complaints there. The problems really began when we attempted to take our 1 year old into the play area. Firstly, we were allowed in when it was so clearly overran, there is no way that having that many people in there was safe. There was also people allowed to drink alcohol, this is a children's play area. There were also people shouting and swearing, clearly intoxicated and the 3 girls who were working in there were clearly out of their depth. This was not a safe environment for children.

App means service slick but impersonal. Food a bit lacking flavour across various dishes. Sizzling chicken overdone, curry platter not very hot.All fine just not very inspiring

Nice place to eat and have a drink with friendly service. Good prices for the food and bar. Refillable coffee/tea.

Met Albert, who was very attentive. He managed to book us in for a dinner Sunday at very short notice. Lovely man so friendly. Food lovely. Sunday roast...gorgeous, just like home made. We will be back again most definitely. Lisa & Mark x

This is just another 5 Stars for our go to Eatery The Priory. As normal Fish & Chips with mushy peas, outstanding as always batter so crispy and the fish hot moist, it was as always Amazing. Then this time we had our favourite treat of Desert Chocolate Fudge Cake and Ice Cream and I always have the Cadbury Chocolate Sundae. I will try and add some photos. Sharon made us feel welcome, and the chef was excellent and was the waitress who served us. In short, our go to location 100%.

Today 5.07.2020 me a and the boss otherwise known as the wife went for a meal at the priory. We had booked we were met at the door. On entering there was sanitizer and the new layout was explained to us. We were shown to our table and it was table service. We were given the menu and ordered drinks. Once we ordered our food it didn't take long to come and we both enjoyed our meals. If you smoke you can go into the garden and toilets are in use both ends of the priory there are separate entrance and exit doors there is sanitizer every where I would recommend a visit they have done all they can to make it carona safe and the food was great enjoy.

A pleasure to have a drink in the Priory tonight as usual Jess and the team are wonderful.

So during the week a bite to eat here is fine. However, the carvery is in a league of its own. Limited veg options (pretty empty pots) A portion of stuffing from the chef is dry and smaller than small. Roast potatoes had cooked gave up and didn't cook the otherside. A roast dinner is as good as the preparation and clearly they had no time to do so.

Wasn't overly impressed! Been going here since they opened, admittedly not been for a few months..... There was a big crowd of us. So we had to reserve. The food was mediocre, 3 of the adults wanted the sirloin steak but they didn't have any. No mention of this when we checked in! The menu change wasn't very impressive, there was actually nothing on the menu that I fancied! It was very dark, the lights were so low. So we even struggled to read the menu. There was no toilet roll in the ladies! I don't think I'll be going back any time soon.

Went out on a little lunch date - the food was hot, well presented and there was a reasonable wait time. You order at the bar or via the app which is more ideal instead of waiting to be spotted by a server. Also have a blue light card discount.

Had a burger and an excellent fresh salad.

Stopped off on the way to Northampton for a meal. Steady if not spectacular pub geared up for dining. Well presented with plenty of different seating options. Usual selection of drinks and an extensive food menu. All seems reasonably priced and what we chose was all good quality. Service was quick and friendly. Would definitely use this pub or one from the same chain again. And if Sizzling Pubs would like to open in Peterborough that would be great 🙂

My husband and I stopped in on the spur of the moment for Sunday lunch. I remembered they had a carvery. Despite being really full and quite a few tables booked we were able to find an empty one. The carvery was delightful and the portion of meat very generous even though we only had the standard plate size. There was only 2 meats available but I had some of each. The beef melted in the mouth. Nice selection of vegetables, well cooked, although roast potatoes and parsnips could have done with a little longer roasting. The layout accommodates families, with a play area but also there is plenty of tables set in quieter areas of the restaurant if that's what you prefer. All in all, extremely good value for money and we'll certainly be going there again. Good disabled access so we'll be able to take my Mum, who'll have a child's portion, which will be plenty big enough for her. She loves a carvery as she finds large plates of food off-putting.

Awesome food. Sunday roast was great value for money. Roast beef melt in your mouth. Shame that dogs aren't allowed.

QUITE ENJOYABLE not too much of a wait for the food to arrive, none of the party complained about anything and the Doom Bar was excellent

First time at the priory last Monday 18th November travelled from Birmingham about 10 ish bypassed you on A45 popped in Well was not expecting this a buffet breakfast it was amazing never thought a breakfast like that to be fresh and tasty well done to the chef

The ease of ordering was great, there was a lot of variety to and the cost wasn't expensive at all. Great value for money. The only issue we came across was, after being placed in the function room (party of 20 plus 5 children) There was a lack of seating available which caused somewhat of a stir to begin with.

This place has never been cleaned around the hot drinks area. They have even put the Christmas decorations up around the dust!!

UPDATE:11/24 Lovely treat for a bright sunny but cold morning. Food was hot and presented well. Coffee machine was playing up on this occasion but was swiftly attended too. Staff friendly and the place was clean and tidy. Christmas decks were also up which made a lovely atmosphere. . Previous report: We liked this place but it's now borderline with the price being on par for a carvery and other breakfast providers, especially with the blue light card not being accepted for breakfast. UPDATE 7/24 Enjoyed our visit today . Not crowded and very helpful staff. Otherwise same as usual.

Had a buffet breakfast and an evening meal travelling to and from a family event. Very happy with the quality of the food on both occasions.

I've been here lately for breakfast. Buffet style breakfast with 6 or 7 items on the menu plus toast and the usual drinks. Can get a bit busy on the weekends

I had fish and chips with mushy peas, the fish and batter was beautifully done and the mushy peas were just as good as what you get in the North East. I enjoyed it very much indeed. Keep up the standard. Will bring the family next time. We have often been there, but never had the fish or mushy peas that tasted that good. My husband enjoyed his gammon as well although he did find it a bit stringy in places.

We had a group of 8 including adults children and wheelchair user. Table was perfect, oval, so we were able to chat freely to each other which is impossible with long rectangle table. Food was fine, everything was eaten which is always a good sign. Staff were pleasant and did a good job. Maybe not fine dining but lovely for a family celebration at a reasonable price. Thank you

We were visiting family and went to the Carvery, which was very cheap. However cheap isn’t cheap when you end up leaving everything. The only decent thing on the plate was the Yorkshire pudding. The vegetables were almost raw and were inedible. I would have taken it back but didn’t want to embarrass my family. It was not hot and we’ve had upset tummy since. It took ages for the table to be cleared. I would never go there again.

We decided to come here for a birthday lunch. The table had been reserved which we strongly recommend if you are visiting during the weekend. We decided on the two cocktails offer and two large carvery’s. We we both wished we had chosen the standard size. There was a choice of beef and gammon with the usual trimmings and plenty of vegetables to choose from or try all. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. The meat was cooked perfectly and the Yorkshire, roasted potatoes and parsnips, cauliflower cheese, mash, green beans, cabbage, stuffing and gravy were all perfect. Highly recommend at £8.99 for a standard and £10.99 for a large, it was exceptional value. We will definitely be back for the carvery.

Came here for lunch with family, service was great, they brought the food pretty quickly and checked on us to make sure everything was ok. Prices are brilliant, you get good portion sizes. Would highly reccomend the chocolate fudge cake!

Lovely staff and we really enjoyed our breakfast.

We visited today. I had fish and chips and my husband had sausage and mash, for meal deal of £13. The food was very fresh and hot and served quickly. The staff were pleasant and asked during the meal if we were enjoying our lunch. I regularly meet friends or have meals with my family here as the food is very good value and always, in my experience, served hot. Thank you to the staff at the Priory!

Great communication re how long to wait for meal. Loved new menu choices. Good service. Easy to redeem voucher code. We would've preferred salt & pepper pots on the table rather than fiddly little sachets.

The restaurant was nearly empty, so there were plenty of other tables available, yet it was clear that there’s no communication or basic organization among your team. This complete disregard for customers and their experience is shocking, and the fact that no one took responsibility makes it even worse. A total waste of my time and money. I will not be returning!

Good food, fair pricing, but we visited on Thursday evening and was unaware that it was quiz night so food was about to stop being served and conversation was restricted by the quiz. Will definitely visit again but will plan ahead for events. Very limited menu for vegan, 1 of our party was very restricted for choice.

We were a group of 14 for my son's 13th birthday. The service was great...friendly, helpful staff. The food was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Booked my table two days in advance, arrived and got told a table number and got pointed to the table. Went up to get food and the plates was half clean half dirty, the food had been under the heat-lamp for a while, the eggs had dried out and sat in their own grease, when we went up for our second portion we came back to our table and they had seated another family on it, removed all our food and drinks (that we have to pay separately for) the family was rightfully upset that we asked them to move. The staff was unhelpful,rude and visibly unhappy from the moment we entered I think this restaurant has management issues.

The food my partner and I had was extremely overcooked and inedible. Other food witnessed leaving the kitchen smelt and looked burnt. Extremely disappointed. Will not be eating there again.

Friendly staff, breakfast good and all great value

All good as always, only one thing let our meals down. One of us had the fish and chips. Unfortunately, there wasn't hardly any fish it was all batter.

It’s a friendly place, my local i come at least 2/3 times a week, the staff Make you feel welcome & can have a laugh with them. Food also nice too x
