Champs in Charnwood

I rased a complaint regarding the deficiency of customer service,this was because I feel a member of staff came across as condescending. I came to the pub week late and the individual member of staff deal with me in an hostile manner. The words she spoke in a truculent way was" I am a nice person how dare you say that about me everyone here thinks I am nice" After this conversation the issue was razed with Champs management at first they gas light saying there was no female member of staff. After member conversation champs management admit she was the but say "this was total out of character "once again gas lighting the situashion. I took the issue higher it felt once again that champs overall did want to take customer service serusly.

Good for TV and sports staff at bar good , need a good chef that can cook from fresh and not frozen

Great bar , alway's a friendly welcome by all staff & lovely atmosphere . Food is delicious & there is a wide variety of drinks .

Went here on a Sunday afternoon. Beer was good, staff polite and food ok. Plenty of screens to watch sport and the barmaid was happy to change channels for motogp. It’s not the ritz but it’s all you need.

The place is a state, toilets are awful and smell of urine etc no door locks, the manager is younger then my youngest kid, much better as the unicorn. I don't really like the thought of CCTV in toilets. food not so great its ok if you eat that sort of food but not really a healthy choice.

Went to this pub at 12 noon as they let dogs in which was good. Ordered food as soon as we got there and a beer. We waited until 12.50 to learn the 2 chefs had gone out to get change at the same time of ordering our food. (why both of them as very odd). The barmaid offered to do the food herself as she was chasing the 2 chefs by phone due to them both taking far to long! We asked for a refund as we had parked our car and didn't have long left in the car park. The barmaid tried to refund us the food and drinks but the chef made sure the beer was not refunded. Very dissatisfied at the NO chef service. Chef came across as arrogant as was clearly NOT bothered looking after customers during trading times! Never experienced this before when going to a pub but I guess there is a first! Would not return while these chefs are there. #noservice #unprefessional

Its ok if you want a drink and some standard pub food. We just wanted something simple with a drink so it fitted the bill... but its no great shakes and I imagine on the saturday night it might attract a lively noisy crowd.

Website says finish serving food at 8.00 pm, just looking to order food at 5.10 and they took the menus away! Asked why they shut early and still waiting for an answer.

This place is revolting. We walked in and were invited to choose a table. We couldn't find one that wasn't sticky, or have spillages, etc. They are obviously not interested in any level of hygiene, let alone current covid requirements. We didn't stay!

Good sports bar with lots of tv screens with various sports on. Good typical bar food burgers, chips and general fast food but a wide selection to choose from.

Went in for drinks and dessert with friends, staff were lovely and food and drinks came quickly. Was served by Dan, who was helpful, attentive and friendly. 10/10 would recommend.

Staff ignore you unless you live in the pub. Ordered food and it took 40 minutes to arrive, even though not busy. Tasteless food and certainly not worth the money. Will not be returning

turned an England game off 89mins in 😂....think they are in need of new management, had only 2 staff on the floor who tried their best but it took half an hour for us to be served a drink and then we got kicked out at quarter to 10 whilst the football was still going on....won't be going back

Attractive, recently refurbished. Looked promising. Menu looked ok with pricing just a little more than nearby competition. Cutlery was heavy, shiny, quality. Friday lunchtime and nobody dining. Two of us ordered meals with chips. Plentiful but a little overcooked. The wife had fish which was dry,tasteless and overcooked. the waitress asked "Is everything alright", No, my wife said and as she began to tell her she replied "Oh ok " and walked away! Nobody came to us. So I approached the bar and said,"Could someone from management come and see us please?".She said he`s out, back soon. I told her of my complaint, she replied "I`ll try and get you a refund, which the sum of £ 9.29 was returned. I have to say that in the past ten years or so we have had countless fish and chip meals at Wetherspoons 90% being very,very good for almost half the price (about 60 to 65% of the price here. When the food was served they then advised us of no tartare sauce though it was included on the menu. (I would have been very disappointed!) Management please take note. Wating staff MUST take complaints back and have them acted upon. I am beginning to see why no diners and just a handful drinking.

We came in to the champs for a quick spot of lunch the staff Arron & his colleague were so professional and friendly it really made our day enjoyable. The children were welcomed & the food was amazing. We will definitely be returning regularly

Visited lots of times when this was The Unicorn and wondered how the refurb would work out!! Wasn’t really mad on the new version-seems a bit bare and cold -not a very cosy experience! Will return and try the food next time!
