Absolutely incredible place to stay. Spent 2 nights in the best room I've ever seen! Very friendly and helpful reception.

We stopped here for lunch today. What a great place. Everyone was so welcoming . Had a great beef Sunday lunch. Everything was cooked perfectly and very tasty. Meal was served very quickly. Highly recommend.

Booked through company to stay one nice. Upon arrival checked into room at the bar, good atmosphere is the downstairs pub with plenty of screens for the football. Room was spacious with a comfortable bed, decor was a bit dated but didn’t was fine for what it was. Problems when getting to sleep was quite loud outside but I’m not a light sleeper so didn’t bother too much, however for whatever reason the heading was on full blast with no option to turn it off, mid-June warm outside the room was like an oven! Window was already open so couldn’t do anything to make it cooler. For this reason couldn’t wait to get out in the morning. Breakfast in the morning was poor, ordered poached eggs on toast and the solid was rock solid. So much so that when I cut into it the corner of the toast pinged off my plate onto the floor! 😂 Wouldn’t stay again

Went in for lunch on a week day, found a seat easily, used the app to order food and drinks, all arrived in good time and as expected. The best feature was the toilets being on the same floor and not up/down 3 flights of stairs!

Visited today with a friend for lunch… live relatively local although not been before. Had a really pleasant all round experience.. warm welcome, faultless service & great food. We both chose the warm chicken salad, followed by the sherry trifle & tiramisu. Everything very tasty, in fact I gave it an overall mark of 10 out of 10, a rare occurrence for me! Thank you all for a lovely afternoon.

I booked a table for 4 people at 2pm to celebrate a Birthday and anniversary. On arrival stood at the reception desk, no one came i had to go and find a member of staff. She looked on the system and said she couldn't find our booking, she said 'never mind we have spaces'. We were taken to a table and we sat down and she walked off. No one came to take a drinks order we were going to queue and get our carvery but there was only scraps of Beef and no turkey and no staff member at the Carvery station so we sat back down No one still came to our table so we had to stop someone walking past us. She wasnt' very friendly and seemed annoyed at our complaints. We asked if any more meat was being prepared, as we were prepared to get up and leave. She went to find out and said a Turkey as being prepared. Therefore we stayed. The Chef doing the carvery was friendly, but the food below standard the veg were either dried up or cold, no one rotating it or replenishing (my dad asked them to change the hard stuffing which they did) really unhappy and certainly wished we had not come. The drinks were expensive, £12 for 3 glasses of coke, we didn't refill as only there a short time. The Female member who we paid was very pleasant, we told her we were not happy she apologised, but nothing can take away the bad experience we had

I mainly go to this pub for drinks and the quiz, not food, though plenty of people do. Staff are really friendly, good service, good range of drinks. The pub layout is very nice and the garden is great in the summer. The weekly quiz is great as well, I've done quite a few in Leicester and this is by far one of the better ones.

Much better venue since this amazing refresh! My wife and I come here quite a lot, she favours the small plates in particular the Jerk Chicken. I love the flatbreads! The venue is nice inside and the staff are always friendly. Even when we accidentally went in one Sunday between breakfast and lunch when they weren’t actually serving, we still got drinks. Highly recommend and the cost is excellent. Ps. Adele is one of the best members of staff here and they are all great Updated: 27/10/2024 - Still a brilliant place to go, staff are lovely in particular Lauren, Maria and Adele. No words can describe how fantastic this pub is, this has become our regular and we have no faults! food is fantastic, we have started doing the bottomless gin afternoon tea ,again fantastic, great supply of Gin well looked after, cakes to die for! Highly recommend! Staff are fantastic and very welcoming! Location of the pub is great, sit in the comfort of the country pub or down by the river overlooking fields. Highly recommend this pub :)

Nice beers on tap. Been coming to this pub for 20 odd years and the beers now are some of the best it's had.

We have always enjoyed our stays with you, this being our 4th visit, but our experience on this occasion was certainly not as expected or as our previous dining experience. Our room was lovely, the breakfast very good, but our evening meal was poor at best! We both ordered Plaice and at £22.00 each our expectations were high! The plaice arrived it was very small the skin did not come off and it was not fresh, this was accompanied by a bowl of boiled new pots in their skin, a chopped up tomato and three very overcooked green beans. We voiced our concerns to our lovely waitress, who said she would pass on our views, no apologies though. We then decided to share a desert, chocolate cake, whilst it tasted OK, presentation reminded me of school dinners and priced at £10.00 it again did not meet our expectations. It was very busy on Friday with a very large loud table in the dining room. We were moved into the bar by a really lovely member of staff So in conclusion - lovely attentive staff, lovely pub, lovely room and breakfast. I did email directly but did not get a response
