Absolutely amazing!! We have a member of the family with an allergy to orange, and the staff could not have been more helpful. There was a choice of 5 meats, and they made us aware that the Gammon and Pork was not an option for the allergy as they were cooked together. They had a knife for each meat but washed all 5 knifes to prevent contamination. I apologised for being a pain, and their response was, "We are here to serve and for you to enjoy in a safe environment." We can not recommend this place enough!

It was a very busy night but the staff were so helpful and friendly, Bella was lovely and our waiter, who's name I have forgotten, sorry, was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed.

Child wanted to come here for dinner and a treat apparently. Having not frequented a carvery for many years, I felt why not let’s try. Then I remembered why I hate them. We stood by the door waiting to be seated for 5 minutes whilst staff just walked past and ignored us Eventually we was given a table Stupidly long queue to get a drink from a machine that didn’t work 100% Then the food Jesus Christ. I’d not even give it to my dog. Meat chewable vegetables… hmm Roast potatoes more like cremated Cold and lax lustre Chefs/cooks also need to learn how to keep things clean. A real mess. Yuck.

Great food, friendly staff and great service, (Scottish?) Manager (apologies if I’ve got that wrong) was clearly really busy but friendly, polite and helpful, as she always is, only downside is the actual state of the building, toilet in the gents far left didn’t even have a working flush, paint job in the restaurant seating area is worse than me painting (and that’s saying something!), staff were all great though, for a Toby with such a mix of the regular and the students, it just works really Well, and is an asset to the area, this is my go to carvery now with my elderly mother, as they are always so helpful and accommodating, Colwick now takes 2nd place in my top Tobys, this one will always be my 1st choice, please DON’T turn it into a Miller and Carter!

Careful ordering any extras, I ordered an extra Yorkshire pudding, they didn’t send it, looks like they just think it’s the one that comes with the meal, also given up ordering drinks as they’ve never once sent them.

Food is Lovely and lagar. Good I am a lonely and lost person since March 3 2024 lost my mum too cancer

It was busy but we were quickly greeted and shown to our table. Drinks and food orders were taken quickly and the carvery staff were also quick to serve people to avoid the queue building up. Food was fresh and well stocked

We had a lovely time at Toby carvery today! There were 6 of us that booked in advance. We arrived early and were sat straight the way. The lady who waited our table was very lovely and friendly and accommodated our needs. The food was great! No complaints at all! Would definitely go back :)

Relatives had booked for Christmas day. Unfortunately the technology is not fit for purpose as we couldn't submit menu choices through the online portal due to technical issues! Then to pay the balance the system hadn't taken off the initial £10 deposit per person. Why make a supposedly enjoyable experience so difficult and irritating?

I booked a table for 4 people at 2pm to celebrate a Birthday and anniversary. On arrival stood at the reception desk, no one came i had to go and find a member of staff. She looked on the system and said she couldn't find our booking, she said 'never mind we have spaces'. We were taken to a table and we sat down and she walked off. No one came to take a drinks order we were going to queue and get our carvery but there was only scraps of Beef and no turkey and no staff member at the Carvery station so we sat back down No one still came to our table so we had to stop someone walking past us. She wasnt' very friendly and seemed annoyed at our complaints. We asked if any more meat was being prepared, as we were prepared to get up and leave. She went to find out and said a Turkey as being prepared. Therefore we stayed. The Chef doing the carvery was friendly, but the food below standard the veg were either dried up or cold, no one rotating it or replenishing (my dad asked them to change the hard stuffing which they did) really unhappy and certainly wished we had not come. The drinks were expensive, £12 for 3 glasses of coke, we didn't refill as only there a short time. The Female member who we paid was very pleasant, we told her we were not happy she apologised, but nothing can take away the bad experience we had

Really enjoyed the meal and although prices have increased especially on a Sunday rather than in the week, still good value for money.

Really great service. Table waiter (aka sonic) went above and beyond and was amazing.

UPDATE: still just as good and lamb was delicious. Was a lovely server and food delicious. Friendly chef carving too. But baby changing was not great. Disabled toilets had a broken tap so you couldn't wash your hands. Otherwise great.

Went this afternoon for lunch. Didn’t have a booking but were greeted by a very friendly and accommodating person at the door Michael who found us a table. The food was very tasty especially the turkey & we cant wait to visit again soon.

It's been a while since I last visited Toby Carvery. The carvery never fails to deliver; it's always on point and satisfying to the senses. The meat wasn't too chewy. The vegetables were cooked to a good standard. The parsnips are always a delight. The gravy was nice also. The only drawback I would say is that they didn't have any broccoli—which is one of my favourites—but apart from that, I would recommend it to anyone.

Service is always been good in here whenever I have been it’s good food most of the time hence the 4 and not 5 stars as every now and then there beef can be abit funny or something isn’t quite spot on but overall you will have good experience here

We booked a lunch for my birthday, from an email I received offering £10 off (which I must have read wrong because I didn't receive it). When we arrived we were seated quickly and drinks order was taken and we were told we could go up to the carvery. There are signs everywhere warning that the saying utensils can be very hot, which they were!, it's just a shame that the vegetables were barely lukewarm, my carrots were cold. Neither of us finished our meals, we weren't asked if we had enjoyed it, so we paid and left. The following 24 hours were not pleasant, both myself and my wife suffered with bad stomach pains followed by chronic diarrhoea. In the past we have always enjoyed meals at the Toby carvery but after this experience it is unlikely that we will be returning anytime soon

Lovely roast dinner. Decor is nice. However, I always find the services hit and miss. Overall, it's a nice experience.

Popped in for a breakfast 😋 all good!! The food was fresh and hot, and the bacon was crispy. Staff were friendly and helpful. There is nothing better than Yorkshire pudding for breakfast. My only snipe is that the toilets could do with a lick of paint. They are looking a bit shabby.

Emma at Toby carvery in Loughborough is brilliant ,such attention to detail and cleanliness we was so impressed , she is so friendly and makes sure everything is so spot on I would highly recommend her , will be going again on the days she works now 🤟 thank you Emma x

Went to Toby Carvery today with my boyfriend. The food was lovely. Decent location, decent set of meats and carvery choices. Would definitely return.

yorkshires cold again but otherwise very good!

Went for breakfast this morning & it was the busiest I had seen it for no reason anyone could work out. Staff handled it really well by seating us in sections based on when we had arrived & sending up each section once a batch of food had been cooked. We all only had to wait 15 minutes for freshly cooked breakfast, really well handled & food was great & piping hot 🙂

I have never ever left a review before, but we both really feel this deserved one!! We are currently away for the weekend, and so booked breakfast with the intention of it keeping us going for the day. The lady on arrival was very helpful, however it went downhill from there really. We were given a refill mug which had a hair in it, we then went up to the Breakfast Buffet where we waited for around 5 minutes as there was no plates or napkins and nobody around to ask. I assumed that the chef had gone to get some plates as he came out, saw the que and went back into the kitchen, however he had not…when he came back out I asked for some plates and napkins, the plates he got out, but the napkins he wasn’t sure where they were kept, but this didn’t actually matter as the plates were stone cold along with the beans and tomatoes! We don’t have a Toby very close to home and so were looking forward to the Yorkshires and Gravy, being one of the main reasons we went for Toby, however there was no gravy available. And so we ended up leaving most of our breakfast, as a lot of it was cold!! I don’t understand how when it was under a hot lamp? Anyway, safe to say we both left most of the breakfast, and the staff took our plates away without even questioning this. Nobody asked us how it was, and so we left after eating maybe a few mouthfuls of our breakfast. We would have spoken to someone, but there was only 3 members of staff (that we saw) working, one of who being the chef who was in the kitchen, one busy with the delivery drivers, and the other now not to be seen. Really disappointed!!

The prawn cocktail starter was acceptable but the choice of lettuce was unusual, certainly not cos as advertised and the bread was white, not wholemeal The meat and the gravy were good on the main course the rest was cold and tired, obviously been out for a long time. There were no Yorkshire puddings but these were brought out when we had almost finished our meal - they contained a lot of oil (?) and were undercooked. The dessert icecream was very nice. Added to which on the next table but one 2 children were running around and shouting totally ignored by the parents. All in all not a pleasant night celebrating our wedding anniversary

Booked breakfast here as a stop off point whilst on the way to Southampton. Great service. Scottish woman on reception very informative and chatty. Explained in detail as never been to a breakfast before. Plates and food hot. Lots of variety and plenty of it. Lighting was a let down. Needs to be brighter as was too dark.. Would recommend and will visit again when passing. Easy to find No problem parking

Excellent value for money, Slightly grumpy front of house staff, or at least weren't welcoming. Food very well cooked, some may say too burnt, but that's how I like it

Really nice food but neither of our meals had the stuffing we ordered which was disappointing.

My family and I went to the Loughborough toby carvery this evening. The food was really good and the member of staff that served us was an absolute delight! EXCEPTIONAL at his job! Thankyou josh. 10/10 😃 You made us feel welcome and you really cared thar we were happy with our experience there.

I have visited many times and been happy but last night was by far the nicest. Our server, Michael, was super friendly, helpful but not over bearing. A winning smile, he was so approachable even when super busy he seemed to make us feel we were the only diners there! All the staff at Toby Loughborough, especially the manageress are great, but he seemed a extra special. Food was perfect!

Lovely place to eat. We went on a deal night so it was only 6 quid for a carvery meal. Excellent portions of meat and all you can eat veg. Food was piping hot and full of flavour, an excellent traditional meal. Service was fantastic by a very fun and chatty waiter. The place was clean, no fault found. Definitely putting on my, gonna be eating here again list..

Scottish manager was lovely, great food great vibes

We decided to have dinner last minute and the manager was so accommodating and offered us tables in the bar area as the restaurant was fully booked. Great value for money and very friendly staff!

Excellent, friendly service. Good portion of meat. Chef had just brought out a fresh turkey which was amazing - succulent, tender and tasty. Vegetables were beautiful - fresh and plentiful (we were dining at 3.30pm so appreciated not a busy time but this made no difference to quality or availability as would have been the case in one of our locals of another chain back home) We finished our meal with coffees. The whole experience just what we needed at a bizarre, for us, time of three day after moving our son's student accomodation. Thank you to all the staff.

my first time visiting this particular branch and I was very pleased. I'd booked a table and there was a queue waiting to be seated when we arrived but that took around 10 minutes and we were seated by the time of our booking so no problem there. our waitress was a lovely young lady called Angel who was very friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. we had the carvery and the food was faultless - hot, cooked beautifully, and plenty of all options. will definitely return!

Normally it's great here but this time was a bit disappointing I got a dirty cup for my tea then the Yorke puds were flat and doughy and there was hardly any selection of food that is usually there and it was just a bit of a let down. Staff were friendly and cooperative tho can't fault them at all just standards seem to of dropped.

the delivery time kept being extended, i do not think this was a fault of the delivery driver, i think Toby Carvery took a long time to prepare the food which was poor. the delivery driver came quickly after collection :-)

Sunday roast. Ruined by the gravy :(

We visited Toby carvery today for our daughters birthday meal and the food was 10 out of 10 absolutely delicious way better than the carverys you get at the greene king pubs and also micheal was an excellent waiter made sure we had what we needed and asked us if everything was OK! make sure u give him a praise and we'll done 😁

Portions were lovely but the food was stone cold when it arrived and gravy had spilled everywhere in the bags which was a little disappointing

Ordered at 18:23 and delivery time kept changing from 19:15 to 21:05 then 20:35 and on the 6th change was 20:20 So 2 hours after I ordered, just awful and not only cold but meat was dry not much veg or stuffing and a complete lack of roast potoatoes

Food was really good, no real waiting times either.. all in all a very good experience

They couldn’t provide the only vegan option for a member of our party - therefore we took our custom somewhere else. Won’t be back!

Had a lovely breakfast at Toby Carvery this morning. Sammie greeted us and was friendly & chatty. The breakfast is buffet style, so you can pick what you would like. All the food was hot, well cooked and presented. The kitchen staff all said good morning when I spoke to them. Everywhere was clean & tidy. No complaints here! For the price, it's hard to fault.

Amazing service and delicious food

The food is good and reasonably priced, and the staff are very friendly. We've been 3 times this year (two adults), and keep coming back because we love the cheap and cheerful carvery! However, each time we've been there are multiple tables in the restaurant with children of all ages watching/playing on devices at the table at full volume - sometimes multiple kids, each with their own device (AND the parents watching videos on their phone, too!). I fully appreciate that it's a "family friendly" place and it's not exactly fine dining, but I guess I'm just surprised that in a sit-down pub restaurant that people treat it like a McDonald's. I can't be the only person irritated by the noise of cartoons coming from every direction when I'm trying to eat/chat? We mentioned it to staff, who suggested that next time we can request a "quiet area" table, but maybe it's just a sign of the times? This is the new normal, I guess: whole families sitting on loud devices in restaurants instead of talking to each other. At the least, I think staff should feel confident in telling patrons to turn the volume down.

Everything was great from arrival to leaving. We were a party of 6 and had requested a table on the ground floor. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and led to our table on the ground floor. Our server was excellent, it was not too busy the advice to wait for a vegetarian option order to be ready before heading to the carvery was followed, and we all ate at the same time. We were well and truly looked after

Did what it said on the tin. Waited 5 minutes plus before carver turned up, then had small serving of meat (one and a half slices at best), veg at least was good. Reasonably priced, but that is all I can recommend.
