We had the Thursday special steak, Sirloin, and it was so tough, we thought it was a special deal but got charged full price...the fries are not homemade. Won't be going back there for a while.

Went for breakfast and have to say it was probably the best breakfast we'd had in a long time. It was cooked to perfection, it wasnt greasy and the produce was great quality. Would highly recommend

Been in a couple of times now to watch the football and get something to eat. The Narborough arms is an excellent pub, Tara and her team are always warm and welcoming. Good selection of beers on tap and the food is to a great standard. Well worth a visit.

Had a great meal at a great price with the burger and pint deal. Good value for money and great pints. Kitchen had food out ASAP despite how busy they were. Jake was rapid on the bar and joe was excellent running around the place taking food and delivered an excellent meal. Would defo recommend this place for dinner and a few pints afterwards. Will be re-visiting. :)

Hayley served us all night. They don’t normally do table service but she was so good and helpful and made an exception for us.

Impromptu dinner tonight - our food was absolutely lovely. We had Katsu curry and my husband said it was really tasty and generous in portion size. I had the Gammon which was piping hot and served with an egg and grilled pineapple which was a bonus not having to choose! The chips were fresh and fluffy and peas were cooked perfectly. Can’t fault it at all. It really was delicious. We were served by the friendly and attentive Carys and Joe, coming to check we were OK and had everything we needed, both really friendly and helpful. Well Done Narborough Arms!

Might have had a makeover but same old miserable service from bar staff. Both the bar maid and supervisor were awful, no smiles, no acknowledgement or conversation. This place never changes

We are regulars at the Narborough Arms as we don't live far away. Since it's revamp, it's so much better. Unlike so many pubs and restaurants it hasn't been spoilt. It's clean, comfortable and has a great atmosphere. The food is as good as it ever was and the prices are still reasonable. We have recently been served by Joe and by Joshua. It has been a pleasure to be served by such helpful, friendly, well-trained staff. We have no complaints.

Went for midweek lunch following a major revamp of the whole premises. The makeover is amazing, very helpful staff and the food was well presented, tasty and piping hot. All veey reasonably priced. We were extremely impressed. Update; went again today. Food still very reasonably priced and piping hot. Marie greeted us and made sure we were happy with everything. She always goes over and above to make sure the customer gets top quality service.

Had breakfast here with four friends. The food was amazing and all cooked to our individual liking. The true star of the day though was Joe, who served us. He was patient, kind and hard working with an excellent sense of humour. Our order taken by him was spot on. We will definitely be visiting again, and Joe, who is a crediit to the Narborough Arms will. Hopefully serven.us again x

We had a great experience at Narborough Arms from the minute we arrived until the moment we left. On arrival we were warmly greeted by a girl behind the bar who took us to our room. The room was compact but big enough for us to have a comfortable stay. Cleanliness in the bedroom and bathroom were of a very high standard. The room was very warm at night but a fan was provided. There was a very good food menu in the pub with lots of choice, both our meals were fresh and tasty. In the morning we both had a traditional breakfast, again the food was fresh and nice. We interacted with about 5 staff members during our stay and I can truly say there were all very friendly and helpful. I would 100% recommend staying at the Narborough Arms, we are already looking at booking again.

Can't comment on the rooms. Called in today before catching my train. The two ladies working had an extremely nice manor about themselves and interaction that exudes respect and happy in their job. Would definitely stay and eat there if I am ever needing to be in the area again.

Came for an impromptu lunch, we were served promptly and politely at the bar. Our food was served by Marie who was attentive and professional and came back to double check everything was okay. The food was lovely and the beer (Beavertown) nice and cold. I would recommend the Narbourgh Arms for a nice last minute lunch.

Lovely pub. Extremely friendly staff who go above and beyond to provide a positive experience for its customers - I took my daughter and was made to feel extremely welcome by a lovely young lady who served us. Food was outstanding too all freshly cooked and hot. We will definitely be returning thank you.

I come here on a regular basis and this pub is great. The staff always have a smile on their face and look after us, especially Tia and Carys. The food is always above standard and definitely worth the money, with the kitchen staff always accommodating our needs. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

Came in for my nieces 3rd birthday today. The staff were absolutely amazing! So welcoming, attentive & professional. Nothing we needed was too much trouble & they even bought my niece a card! Popped in on Saturday night for tea as we had been out all day. What a lovely welcoming atmosphere. We both had the steak which was superb, my knife cut through like butter! The staff in there were super friendly. We were served by Joe behind the bar who couldn't do enough for us. It was lovely to see the staff getting along well and this portrayed a happy team. Very impressive change, keep it up Narborough Arms! We will certainly be back.

Visited this place 18/7 . Been there many times and the food is reasonably portioned and nice . Not today spent around £70 , £53 of this was a round of drinks and food for 2 people what I received was rubbish. I've had the same meal before and it was much bigger and nicer . The Chicken Shawarma flat bread £10.29 and a portion of chips at £3.29 it did state children's portion on the menu and presentation was awful . Asked to speak to the Manager the lady stated she was the manager and the portion provided on main was correct . Weird how 2 weeks previously it was excellent. Was offered a drink as a good will gesture? I just wanted my food right . Won't return again. I took pictures of the food shame unable to attach them.

Not at all happy with the management ban hard work workpeople who had not done a thing wrong on the say-so of a drunken little girl who was off-head her on drugs at the time

First time we have eaten here since its refurbishment. The food was lovely, we really enjoyed what we had, and it wasn't expensive either. Perfect for a mid week lunch with family. Will definitely be back :)

A very quiet bar in the afternoon!

The drinks were lovely but the food was a bit of a let down! I had some chips and payed £3.60 and got about 7 chips.. I understand it’s a chain but it was just a little bit disappointing. The tacos were nice but just not enough for your money!

Before it was refurbished. A sharing platter. Was a sharing platter. Now just suitable for one person. Disappointed!!

The staff and food was very good, however a parking fine two weeks later annoyed me greatly. They have a sign with large writing saying customers only, and as the man on the phone abruptly said 14 signs regarding entering your reg. However the writing is very small unlike the customers only sign. Green king have placed small font signs around the car park that many people have missed. Euro car park gladly take £60 or £100 if over 14 days from unknowing CUSTOMERS. Please consider a sign with larger font in future, will never return. It's a shame as the staff and food were nice.

Said we could have late check in via telephone then last minute on the way there from the airport at night they said no one will be in. Had to book another hotel at last minute. The worst part was trying to get my money back for this booking - still nothing. Promised calls from management never happened either. Absolutely awful, I’ve had to claim with my credit card.

Very impressed with the newly refurbished rooms at the Narborough Arms. This is now a lovely traditional pub ambiance in a great convenient location for Leicester or the surrounding areas. But what stands out is how welcoming the team were - really helpful and responsive. I had a good sized room, the bathroom has a very decent bath/shower, and on a breakfast-inclusive deal it offered options beyond and including the standard full-English. All-round a very good experience.

Overnight on 28/5/24, chosen for its location close to where we needed. Refurbished bedroom was a great improvement over how it used to be (previous visit 2 years ago) but quite basic and not inexpensive compared to Premier Inns which offer a comparable standard of bedroom. Staff were helpful and efficient, no extra fee to park, normal pub food offering was of a good standard. Little choice at breakfast if you don't want some variation on a cooked English breakfast.

I took the family out to have a meal here, first time eating here and wouldn't go again, food not cooked properly, and other food well over cooked, the sharing platter carnt even get the chicken strips right, would recommend save your money and go elsewhere

Visited and stayed for the first time this week. Received a friendly welcome on arrival. Enjoyed an evening meal before heading to a very comfortable room for the night. Breakfast was good, and I felt very well looked after throughout my stay. Will recommend a stay here and will I’m sure return again in the future. Thank you to all members of the team .

Called in with family for food & drinks. Quick service. Very nice inside and food was amazing. Really tasty indeed. Last time I was in there was late 70’s when my uncle Steve & aunty Dorothy owned it. Well worth the travel. Will call in again.

The refurbishment is lovely. Unfortunately the prices have gone up to cover the cost of that and portions of food is a bit disappointing!! Time to find new local.

I visited this pub in December 2023. Nice pub, staff are polite, good parking and the food is good. The only reason why I gave this pub 3 stars is the service. I had starter and main to start with, and that came out fine, no complaints. However, I ordered a dessert (sundae), however it didn't show up, I ordered it about 19:15pm, and before we decided to leave (which is about 20:00 when it still didn't show up), me and the woman decided to get a refund as it didn't show up because it took that long. As I returned to the counter to get a refund, very nicely the other woman who served me for my dinner service, refund me not once but twice. The first time she refunded me, she put the money back into my bank account, and the second time she refunded me, she gave me the money in cash. I realised that she was embarrassed of what happened, as I know I was the first person out of 12 people to order my dessert, and to be honest, it shouldn't take that long. To be honest, I do feel sorry for the woman who served me, how embarrassed she was when my pudding didn't show up.

The food; the ambiance and the drinks were great! Completely recommend it!

Fantastic welcome from the duty manager Rachael, booked late so I think I got the noisy room but it’s clean and tidy I’m sure once the pub empties it will be fine. Good atmosphere in the bar, ordered food and drinks served by Sheryl, very attentive but not intrusive. Will definitely come again when in the area.

A very nice pub! The first night it opened I walked in, They have got rid of the John Smith so I had the IPA at £3.09p I walked in tonight and the price has shot up to £4.29 what a leap!! About as much as having a costa coffee.could understand if it had gone up to £3.29 Diabolical liberty.

Exterior looks clean and tidy,inside looks fresh and clean,my wife,niece and myself booked a meal 7.30pm the table was ready as requested.we all had drinks which were fine, we all had different meals and enjoyed them.the whole experience was enhanced by the staff who were excellent made us feel like family. What do you have to do to make this pub good, great even, they still cannot get the basics right after all these years. Where do I start. Even though me and my wife are locals, we stopped going into the narborough arms around 2019 due to lacklustre uninspiring Lukewarm food, really atrocious service by lazy and rude staff and dirty, sticky tables, not to mention the foul mouthed clientele shouting and swearing at the TV's showing sport at the top of their voices, as you're trying to eat your lackluster food. Plenty more decent pubs and competition in the area where you're always greeted with a friendly smile and brilliant service, so we stuck to them instead. But then we heard they were having a makeover, a big money refurbishment inside and out, with a new menu and many new staff and management. Brilliant, we thought, at last, it might turn into a proper pub/ restaurant this time with better food, better staff and better all around…how wrong we were. Having opened at end of march, we went to try it the first night around 8.30pm only to be greeted by a number of men in the new, very nice, pub garden, with their shirts off swearing up to each other and shouting immense abuse and literally ready for a mass brawl, and this was the new and improved narborough arms??? Needless to say, we didn't go in and went back home. Then a week later on Friday 05 April 2024, we gave it another try. We went one afternoon this time, to avoid the loud, foul mouthed, feisty clientele that may be there again in the evening, spoiling it all for the locals and families in the pub who just want a quiet drink, and went in around 3pm. The new menu looked good, we chose from the lunch menu, a sweet chilli chicken on ciabatta and an avocado and bacon with ciabatta. We chose chips with these, I think they were rosemary and salt kind of chips, gourmet sounding, so ordered these with it. The lunch menu also came with a drink and we opted for the alcoholic option and a rose and red wine, one each. The new decor was nice, they'd done a good job, it looked dark but with the right amount of light in places adding to its atmosphere and stately home feel, on this front, well done, we were impressed. And no sticky tables or TVs showing sport in the dining area, as it should be. Yesss we thought at last, the food now looks good, the decor is now top notch and the TVs have gone, so no more shouting yobbos around you as you try to eat and drink. How wrong we was, after the initial good feeling, it started to go bad again, downhill again, just like old times First, I stood at the bar for nearly 20 minutes to get served. It always took ages to get served in the old days years ago before we stopped coming in, I thought. So no change on that front. Noted, it was fairly full, as new, but there were only two staff serving at a new long bar, why??? Actually felt sorry for the staff, ran off their feet. Secondly, when I ordered the lunch with alcoholic drinks the guy who served me was very scruffy and unprofessional for a newly refurbished Greene king pub. He asked what drink I wanted then asked a member of staff for help, I though he's new so I beared with him as probably in training. A young tall lady member of staff with long black hair came over and showed him how to work the till. He then started arguing with her and became very angry and animated, saying to her just leave me, I'm okay etc, but in an angry way. Not really good in front of customers?? The young lady was polite I must say. Then as the guy was angry he abruptly strolled off and proceeded to collect glasses around the pub, completely forgetting our wine. I had to wait another five minutes, standing at the bar like a lemon, to get any member of staffs attention again, as they were oblivious, to ask them where our wine was. Eventually the tall lady came back and apologised, again, she was very nice and apologetic for the other guy, got the wine and apologised again, so thank you whoever you were. Thirdly, having got back to the table we supped our wines…abd promptly spat them out. I know my wine, and even though my red was a house wine I expected better than this. To say it was rank, was an understatement, it had totally gone off and smelt of TCP and vinegar, a sure sign the wine was, pardon my french, total crap. My wife's rose was not better, just tasted like tasteless flat cordial, absolutely horrendous We mentioned this to the waitress who came over to ask how the food was, that had just arrived. We said the wine had gone off and the food looked good, but was just Lukewarm bordering on cold. The chips also, were just salted and no herbs etc that were promised, were on them. Again the food looked better on the menu, but in reality, the same as before, lackluster, unappetising and cold. The waitress just laughed at us and walked off. No apologies, no offering to refire the food or get us replacement wines for the wines that had gone off. We gave up and ate our cold to Lukewarm food. Then the waitress came back a while later to collect the plates. We again tried to get her to understand that the wine was off. This time, she apologised, spoke to us at length sniffed the wine and agreed they had gone off, and said she will feed this back to the bar. Again, no offer to replace them, as understandably we hadn't drank them after one sip, and actually left them with us. We didn't know at the time, but a gentleman was on his laptop on the table next to us, and I think this was the manager or a senior member of staff, as when we got up to kewve we saw the same waitress again for the third time. We again told her about the wine, and the gentleman on the laptop stood up and apologised and promised us replacement free glasses of wine next time we visit, as we were leaving. That's all very well and good after the fact, I thought. But, why wasn't this done before after two attempts at telling the waitress? Why was there no offer to refire the cold food? Why were the chips just salted and sold as gourmet chips with rosemary etc? Why if the manager, was sat on the next table to us did he not hear us telling the waitress how bad the wine and food was and not intervent previously on both occasions? And why was there limited apologies, sometimes not at all, and why did I have to wait 20 minutes again at the bar to get served? So final verdict. Previously was 1 out of 5 after we'd not visited for years. Now, I'd say 2 out 5, gone up one only, due to nice refurbishment, but apart from the tall lady, and the manager who intervened too late, the staff still need more training, still need a politeness overhaul and an attitude adjustment, as before. And the food still needs to be on par with others in the area, Lukewarm, cold uninspiring food is really not on, especially when you have a nice new menu with nice mains and snacks, gourmet style, but then is let down as the chef can't cook gourmet food. There's plenty of good pubs in the area, the dovecote just 10 mins walk away serves beautiful hot food, the staff are always friendly, polite and helpful and will always immediately offer you another meal or a replacement drink if anything is wrong, but it very rarely is, as it's a brilliant place. There's also another geat pub in the next village whetstone, and a pub with a Thai restaurant in the next village littlethorpe. All are great, so why does narborough arms continue to be uninspiring, given the food competition, the brilliant service competition in the other pubs, the potential to be good, and the fact they have more bad reviews than others. Up your game more again, and you'll get the custom back...and more. Will we come again, now it's had a makeover, after her first experience there at the new narborough arms? Yes we would…but not as a regular, it's not worth the hassle again. Probably once or twice a year that's all. Shame, as has the potential to be so much better, but still a long way to go, to get us back to weekly or fortnightly visits again. Absolutely appalling service overall again, and I am copying in this review to Nick Mackenzie CEO of Greene King, because for a newly refurbished pub a week after opening I expected better than a 1950s spit and sawdust pub service, and didn't really get it.

Food arrived in 20 minutes but the two drinks took over an hour. The pub was barely busy. Definitely worse than before the refurbishment, poor service and food was stone cold before drinks arrived

What a difference, good makeover. We visited Friday for the first time since the pub has been referbished, the look and feel of the pub is 100% better and the annoying TV in the dining area is no more. The toilets are now fresh and clean. The food was good particularly the burger of the month and the steaks were cooked as ordered. One little problem with the order but that was quickly sorted out. The only thing that stood out to us was the lack of barstaff, particularly as it was a Friday we had to wait along time order our drinks, around 15 mins and some of the new staff were not serving in order of arrival which was causing some irritation, the same happened again to order food. The food came really quick once ordered and was well cooked. A big well done we will definitely come back soon perhaps not a Friday though.

I never write reviews, I never used to like coming here for food as it was always overdone and not the best… I have just had one of the best burgers! Like I’d normally pay a lot more for… had a new revamp and obviously new chefs!!! 5star all the way

We went for a catch up with old friends. The website states wheel chair friendly. THIS PUB IS NOT! We phoned the number listed to check .No answer. 4 of us on our table food came out for two of our group. They had finished before second two meals came out 🙄😒.thought a revamp of the pub would be worth a visit. Sadly disappointed. Will be going to the Plough at Littelthorpe. Next outing.

After an extensive referbishment & menu change I can say it's now amazing. The decor is outstanding with modern sophisticated vibe. Simon & his staff are very hands on & avalible to assist you with whatever you need. The staff are very hard working & friendly.

Used to be a regular here years ago , stopped going when it became a hell hole of young idiots always fighting, coked up , not handling their drink ! Thought I’d give the “new look “ Narborough arms another go (Saturday 30th March ) to be greeted by a fight in the car park !! Someone kicking off at the bar & generally no difference whatsoever from before !! Staff were helpful, pleasant and attentive , however , I won’t be returning due to the clientele ! Unfortunately you will always have trouble there !!!

WOW. The pub has had a total refit. Absolutely brilliant. Decor modern and fresh. Lots of new staff. Toilets brand new and private. Hotel rooms amazing. The management team and staff have it bang on. Food today was great. Outside area revamped and ready for summer with outside bar.

We went here just for lunch after dropping the car off at the Honda garage down the road, we were greeted very nicely and we asked if they served food yes said nice bar tender we were given a menu and we chose the menu two meals for £11.00 I had the gammon and my husband had the scampi both meals were delicious extremely well presented mine on a skillet my husbands on a plate it really was nice just for lunch so a really big thank you staff were great and friendly even the locals were really nice.

It's run down and needs some refurbishment to make our more appealing. The toilets are tiny cubicles, struggled to get in and shut the door which is ridiculous. The car park was dark with no lighting which as a person on their own didn't make me feel safe

This hotel is built in the 17th century , it's features are perfect for a relaxing break if you are in to the paranormal, this is a must place to stay , beautiful rooms , fresh beds , loved peaceful set out I have no problem staying here the staff are friendly and helpful , oak beam ceiling very spacious , the only thing I feel that's lacking is a lamp apart from that ingore or the negative comments , highly recommended

Visited as part of a large walking group as we were all very happy with the service and food. We had pre-ordered our choices, and the food quickly appeared once we sat down. There were lots of positive comments on the food, so overall very good.

The place is in need of a major refurbishment, friendly staff - price of a pint has gone up. Lots of car parking at the back.

The staff are friendly and the food is excellent. We have visited far more expensive pub/restaurants previously and this is currently our number one re value for money. My mother is disabled and the staff are very helpful when my mum needs to get to her seat. I thought the manager was very professional when he sorted out a parking problem I had whilst helping my mum into the restaurant. Keep up the good work. Derek. Leicester

I’ve been to the Narborough arms a few times and popped in tonight after work for a dinner and a pint with my mum (81) and my wife we had great service and a great meal the waitress with long black hair and glasses was an absolute star she treated us all with great respect and banter even my mum laughed at ❤️she is a credit to the Narborough well done you and Thankyou x

Nice pub,decent food but the bill was wrong ,like to think it was a genuine mistake but my gut feeling tells me it wasn't,kept the bill anyway so will get the money back,it was the guy with the tattoo on his neck we paid,the manager I think,left a slightly bitter taste in my mouth as we are regulars

Went down hill stopped going food was not good.found out new owners went to try them out Well worth the visit excellent will recommend them

The customers here are very friendly and the staff are always welcoming as soon as I walk through the door. I have been coming for years and the staff now know my drink order and what time I get here and my pint is always waiting for me. It’s the perfect place to come for a drink and meet some pals.

Another great night at the ARMS Good food great company and the service is so good what a great team Can't beat the price for the quality of the food been to all the local pubs but none compear to the ARMS will be back next week thanks for another great night

Visited on Saturday evening when it was very busy, short wait on food but we were kept informed. Food was excellent as usual and a great atmosphere. Big thanks to Rachel and her team who looked after us very well.

Had visited this place in the past, but this was first time for ages. Went for a early lunch so it was very quiet on entry. Staff were very friendly and helpful and only had to wait a short time to be served our food which came sizzling hot. The portions were most ample and of a good quality, thoroughly enjoyable and satisfying. Compared to similar eateries, this venue scores in the top few percent, well worth a visit.

Was going to stay 2 nights the state of the room was unbelievable, Dirty smells wallpaper off the walls toilet broken, carpets filthy, bed old, mattress stained, pillows stained Windows falling out Rotten This was room 2 Not offering any other room so left See pics

Popped in for a Celebration lunch and a beer or two, Decent burgers and Menu had a variety of options to ponder over. I have eaten here before and knew what to expect and again this visit was Value for the money. Have paid more for far worse elsewhere. Happy with the service and the experience as a whole.

Amazing place, staff are always attentive and go the extra mile. It's a shame that the refurb hasn't gone through yet but it does mean we got to visit again before. The Assistant manager Matty is always a good laugh

This is a great family pub - the food please don’t dismiss in price it is very freshly cooked and you get that equal to a lot of gastro and bistro pubs charging three times the amount for the same dish - honestly I have been to all sorts of gastro bistro fine restaurants and the difference is their wording and price but honestly this is very good cooked food at inexpensive prices - love this place
