Had a great time, Pete, I think, was the only member of staff on, The food was absolutely amazing, couldn’t go wrong will be back again!!

Lovely atmosphere. Leon and Pete were lovely. Said could not book online but more than amicable. Very hospitable. Quick service. Amazing food. Bagged up left over meat for our dog. Would do anything they could to help. Highly recommend and would definitely visit again.

Contrary to other poor reviews, we found the experience fabulous, the food was excellent, exactly what we ordered and tasty, we thoroughly recommend and the new management are to be commended for their commitment and hard work to offer good service.

If you want good food go somewhere else ,Sunday lunch was served cold and was inedible cold veg cold plate and awfull unbeatable meat

We came last night as a party of 38 for a surprise birthday and had Wonderful experience! The food was lovely and came out in extra quick time considering we were a large party. The steak was particularly yummy, and the chocolate fondant was to die for. A huge thanks to Jody and Ollie for their hospitality and to Kyle for cooking our delicious food. We will definitely return!

Nice meal Jody the barmaid was very informative about the menu's pub looks clean and tidy. Will be back in the future.

Popped in today for some lunch, had the bbq wrap with salted skin on fries. It was lovely, and once again Jody's customer service was great. Thank you, definitely will be back again.

Bit quiet, but we were in later on. Friendly welcome and whilst we did not eat the drink choice was good.

We had exceptional customer service, particularly from Leon and Jody. They were so helpful, patient and overall made my sisters birthday meal a great gathering. Highly recommend this place!!!

This is a great pub for either just a drink or a nice meal. The meals are well priced. A weekday meal is two mains for around £14. The staff are always lovely and are great with the four legged friends. A special shout out to Shanice who is always happy to help, super friendly and great with the dog. Overall, this is a great pub for the price.

We visited the Wentworrh Arms to celebrate my niece’s GCSE results and previously booked a table for 10. Before ordering our meals, we were told that several items were missing from the menu including bacon, cheese and onion rings which meant we had to order meals we did not want or exchange items. I was offered vegetables in exchange for onion rings from my surf and turf which I didn’t feel complemented the meal. The meals arrived separately so we as family could not eat together which I did not like. We were not told there would be a delay. The second phase of meals were served 10 minutes after the first. I had initially waited but had to eat as my meal was going cold. I had to find a waitress to ask for condiments and sauces as nobody came over to check on the meal or ask if we needed anything. Unfortunately the items I asked for did not arrive so my steak was mustard free and chips had no sauce. The surf and turf was from their specials menu but was very basic and bland. I cook better at home. Whilst using the men’s toilets, there was a sign saying ‘wet floor’. I assumed this was due to it being cleaned. The middle urinal was actually blocked so when the water drained to clean the basin, the urinal was actually spilling all over the floor. I could not believe what I was seeing. This will be our last visit to The Wentworth Arms which is disappointing to feedback.

My wife and I cam here for the first time in long time and was pleasantly surprised with quality of the food and the service that we received, when asking the waitress she told us that they had a new manager, Our visit was much improved on our last and we will definitely be back

We normally are pleased with the service at the pub, but the last time it was disappointing, waited far to long for our food, it was nearly cold. My wrap was very disappointing, expected better.

Had a great meal here, the chef made a great meal.

No bacon no onion rings no macaroni cheese very slow. Half the table had their meals and a long wait untill the rest came. Just not a good experience wont bother again.

When to the Wentworth Arms for a family birthday meal, we found the staff very pleasant, helpful and welcoming, the food was delicious 😋, plus a quiz night on aswell, thoroughly recommend the Wentworth Arms for visit.

Definitely fine for drinks but do not recommend eating here. The pea and mint risotto arrived tepid and cooled down immediately. The rocket leaves on top of the risotto were wilted and not fresh- obviously past their use by date. The mac and cheese arrived tepid too, with some parts being hot and some cold (obviously microwaved!) and the service was poor. The focaccia wasn't fresh and was rock-solid and stale. Basically all in all the food wasn't great. We waited ages for our food when the pub was empty, that should have been a red flag. No one came to check if our food was okay and we weren't told we had to grab our own cutlery🙄.

Food was poor, chips uncooked, and hard in the middle, steak was tough. Macoroni cheese was abysmall ,stodgy gooey mess. Service shocking. And all tables dirty. Shame used to be such a lovely place.

What a lovely little place,we found this place after walking through burbage common and woods,and are we glad we did,the staff were fantastic(lovely young man and a lady,sadly didn't get their names) we visited on Thursday at 12 o clock.the food was georgeous,decent prices.will definatley be visiting again very soon. 10/10

My friend and I visited the Wentworth last night for a catch up and a meal. Although very close to where I live, it has been a few years since I went there, as my last experience wasn’t the best, after years of being wonderful when Dave & Judy ran it. The welcome we received from Shanice was so warm and friendly that straight away I knew we were going to be well looked after and have a fabulous evening ~ which we did! Shanice is SO lovely - a real ray of sunshine - and she really went out of her way to make sure we were happy and comfortable. We had a super meal too - and the service was great. The Wentworth is definitely back on my list (& very close to the top!)as a ‘go to’ for great food, atmosphere and service! 😄

Updated August 2024.. still amazing! Been visiting here for a while with my family. Staff are always friendly and food is great. Not too expensive and good quality. Battered halloumi and chips is my favourite. The kids meals are really good sized portions for my little one and a really big choice. You can tell recently that there have been some small changes, such as table service now and a few new faces but it's still as lovely as ever! Looking forward to a Christmas Day meal here!

Went today had the Seniors lunch deal , it was amazing, friendly prompt service. Thank you Shanice and Ollie and of course the chef, we will be back.

Difficult to judge, we went on a Sunday evening and it was dead, almost no-one in. Maybe five people. I assume it's busier on other nights, hence not giving a low star rating.

Went in the garden . Very nice setting but didn't like the music. Want a bit of piece early evening, music ok later!

After a long drive home from being away we thought we'd finish the weekend with a meal at out local pub. We all ordered Sunday roast, big mistake at 5pm! Everything was over cooked and a bit chewy. The beef came out with 1 1/2 small slices. After questioning more was supplied but we were told, it's because it's the very end of the beef! Some was this being stretched to make 2 portions. A couple of the staff were having a break at a table in the pub. They didn't even help the one lady that was working, even when people were waiting to be seated. Shocking after the staff got up from the table, they couldn't even take their empty plate back with them! Our food wasn't good, parsnips and potatoes were solid! We were really hungry, so at what we could but vowed to never have Sunday lunch there again! It's such a shame for this lovely pub but it's being g ruined by lazy staff that are more interested in their phones than customers! The poor lady with the pink hair was working her ass off and always gives great service, the others could learn from her!

I took my granddaughter for a meal xhe is 9 year old the service was terrible my granddaughter wanted a pizza and I had a steak the pizza came and was totally burnt black all around the top a.nd she couldn't eat it my steak was tough could only eat half of it.how a chef/ cook would send out a meal like that is Beyond me no one was interested. I wrote to green king all they said that the manager had tried to get in touch with me but I had no such mesage. I for one will not be going back and certainly will not recommend. Not a happy customer.

Didn't get any lunch , no beer (craft ale) no food i wanted after choosing 3 different options all sold out at 2pm ended up with crisps ! Place gets worse 🤷‍♀️💩

After a four hour drive from Norwich to Home I thought we would try the Wentworth as it's always been a decent pub meal, I ordered the Award Winning Steak & Ale pie my wife the Salmon & Cheese fishcakes. The pie pastry was rock hard with very little steak when I eventually broke into it the veg was overcook but the chips were fine. The Salmon had an after taste and she couldn't eat it,she did explain this to the waitress however nothing was done. To say I will not be back

This is our go-to place for family and friends meals out. Service is good, food is great, portions are generous, and if you can squeeze in a dessert then you really should. Highly recommended. Keep it up.

Really helpful staff and reasonably priced menu. Visited whilst they had an electrical fault in the kitchen but they soon resolved the issue. Our granddaughter loved the activity menu which kept her occupied.

Visited this great pub twice over the last month, and both times had a huge welcome and were made to feel valued. Food was good quality, good choices, very friendly staff and management and it hit the spot after a busy tiring day. We travelled back to Manchester fully refreshed having sadly been sorting out my late Aunt’s house. Thank you all!

Order given to the wrong people as waitress shouted out wrong number, no compensation given and waited an hour for our food with no more than 20 people at the pub, sat outside in non smoking area that had an ashtray on and tables needed cleaning, people were smoking right next to us with smoke blowing in our faces. Food was pretty average at best. Won't be coming back.

Went during lunchtime. Staff very friendly. Food was great. The hunters chicken was perfect for me. We sat outside to eat as we had dogs and it was sunny although they do accommodate you with dogs inside aswell. You do wait a short while for food but no more than anywhere else I've been

Been eating here on and off for the last atleast 6 years and tonight has been the best service and best food I’ve had! Great atmosphere with the living singing too! Will be a lot more frequent in my visits now! Ollie & shanice were very professional and friendly at the same time 👌🏽 massively improvements have been made

First time visitors , the welcome was warm and friendly shanice was helpful with the menu . The food was lovely my parents really enjoyed the fish & chips . My lasagne was tasty and also presented well. Our chef for today was Ben . We will be back again .

Cold food, took an hour to arrive when there was only my table and 2 others which were occupied at the time. Serving lady brought us out extra chips and onion rings as she agreed with us that there was not much on our plate. No point in complaining when it had taken an hour to be served and just wasn't worth another hour to wait. Some of my party are now ill with a poorly stomach. So I don't think we shall return again.

Nice outdoor area for when the weather is nice! Food is alright; exactly what you would expect really at the pricing. Staff attentive, if a little slow on bar service, they could do with more staff on shift at times . Reasonable prices and large selection of food and drinks, perfect for a cheaper meal and relaxing drink

Food was very poor, had the Hunters Chicken, very hard around the edges, Eton Mess only had a couple of small pieces of meringue in and the raspberries were very sour. Extremely poor service too, no one behind the bar when i went back for another drink, actually popped my head into the dirty kitchen to shout for service but to no avail, waited over 5mins😏 Avoid this place!!!!

This was a great find. Popped out on a Sunday morning to the garden centre in Sapcote and decided to stop for some lunch on the way home. Shanice, Liv and Ollie were extremely friendly and helpful and the food came put quickly. It was good quality and well prepared at a very reasonable price. I had Beef Rib Bourginon with Mash and my wife had the Gammon steakI'd recommend stopping here for food to anyone.

Popped in midweek . fish and chips. hour later batter was a weird colour and won't be going back as always been average place for food tbh plus drinks expensive

Visited here this afternoon on an off chance due to a long working day. We drove in, and its never a good sign to walk on and the place is empty. Gives of immediate signs...bur nether the less, we were starving so gave them a try since we hadn't booked anywhere. Ordered 2 roast dinners, one beer and a squash. Cost £32. What arrived, was a handful of peas, 3 tiny heads of boiled broccoli, 2 thin pieces of beef (which half of it was fat) a handful of roast potatoes, 3 halves of Parsnips, small cauliflower cheese, and a couple carrots with Yorkshire pudding. Now the quality wasn't my issue specifically. it was that the quantity was shocking, the food wasnt even hot. It was just lukewarm.. I came away still hungry. And walked out £30 down. Safe to say, first attempt was a huge dissapointment I wont go back.

Went for a meal tonight but seemed to be a shortage of people working. As usual for a Green King food was really good and value for money, but with hardly any customers service was poor. Waited ages for meals to arrive and again for the table to be cleared. Won't be in a hurry to go there again

We go for a meal with friends probably every month and have been coming to Wentworth Arms for quite a while now. The food is always, always good and the service nice and friendly. We went the other day for lunch and Shanice was the only member of staff behind the bar, waiting etc. She is most able, friendly and unflappable and served all patrons patiently, courteously and efficiently and did not let the pressure get to her. See you again very soon.

Served by Yvonne, Lovely lady 5*****. Food was good over all but mixed grill gammon & chicken a little over cooked. Dog friendly which is a huge plus for us.

Lovely food even better service. Shanice provided outstanding service across all front of house duties on her own and was incredibly polite. I had a very nice lasgane and the Eton mess sundae was amazing! Will be returning soon.

I came for a open mic event and the staff were all friendly and catered to our every need, the katsu chicken was amazing, the nicest I've had before. A very big thanks to Jody for her hospitality and always smiling. 100% recommend 👍

We have a lovely visit today at the Wentworth arms. Jody and Shanice are a ray of sunshine on a rainy day. Service was amazing and food was great! We’ll be back soon!

13 of us had booked for a lunch and after being asked had provided meal choices, about 2 weeks before. When we arrived, one of the starter choices was unavailable! Took over an hour for 6 starters to arrive and about 2 hours before the mains. The rest of the place was almost empty. Service??? What service. I don't think I will be going back again

Came with a group, pre bordered for their convenience, still sat waiting after an hour for only six starters. No apology, no communication, we are chasing them, pathetic service really awful. Best avoided. Update post meal, took an hour for six pre ordered starters to appear and a further hour for the preordered main courses. The only reason offered was the new chef as reported in several other reviews over the last couple of weeks, so clearly the chef isn't quite so new. Quality average at best. Many better offerings in the locality to choose from.

There’s clearly a management problem here, the pub was not very busy yet there was a queue for service at the bar that was non stop. It doesn’t help that you have to join the queue when you order food as well. When the starters were served the waiter mentioned that there would be a delay for the main course. There was a long delay…. The staff are pleasant and hard working, there’s just not enough of them. We were there for 2.5 hours for a bar meal.

The food was good but the day we went to the Wentworth they had a staffing problem. We waited 1 1/4 hours for our food. We felt very sorry for the few staff who were apologetic and working their socks off

Super service, as expected. Mixed grill was really good. Chicken especially succulent. Prawn risotto was good apart from the portion control. 3 prawns is a bit of joke in my opinion. 6 to 8 would be more appealing. Thank you Yvonne for your help & service.

First time here (and last)..had been for a walk nearby so popped in early afternoon to ask if could have a table for later that evening around 5:30 Arrived and was seated, ordered food and drinks at the bar before then being told “oh by the way there’s around an hours wait for food” Looking around the place wasn’t busy so struggled to understand why would take so long. Soon became clear that we were not the only ones waiting for food and many had been 1hr+ waiting When went to complain got told “yours is just being plated up now”…well it must have taken them a further 20 mins to plate as it didn’t arrive. Not offered any form of compensation in free drinks or deserts etc Had young kids with us so had no choice but to wait..when food eventually came was ok, nothing special Green King need to look into these problems as reviews are all saying similar things

After booking a table for 4 people online for half 1, we went down and was greeted straight away. We wasn’t made aware of any food waits on arrival and the place was pretty empty. After ordering drinks, we then ordered our food and was told there was a half an hour wait on food which we were fine with. 45 minutes passed and we still hadn’t had our food. We asked our waiter (who wasn’t very friendly) and she said there’s still 2 tickets in front of us. We waited another 15 minutes and it finally came out. (Nothing to fault with the food just standard- nothing special) After over an hour of waiting and finishing our food we asked the manager if we could have our drinks included seen as we’ve waited so long and she was very rude saying she can’t because she’s done it for loads of others today because the “freezers have broken and a new chef” (not our problem- they should have closed the restaurant) and she wasn’t willing to because “she will get sacked due to the amount of refunds they have done today” (again not our problem). Eventually she agreed and refunded 3/4 drinks. But she was very argumentative and I would never have expected a “manager” so speak to a customer like that (working in the food industry myself I understand) but there’s no way a customer should wait that long with NO WARNING. We would have never stayed if we was made aware at the start- not after ordering. Had a really bad experience before where we was given gone off meat that had been left on the side for hours (waiter told us this and said it should have never have been given out- after we’d already tried to eat it) and we said we’d never come back again. We gave it another go and it’s safe to say stay very clear of the place. Only friendly staff member was the young lad who had just walked into it all and apologised.

Shocking waited over 1 hour for food they told people that freezer broke down but never said a word to us. Others in restaurant left after 15 mins people walked out When I went to ask where food was they said still 15 mins at least. After we did get food we then ordered pudding I said are the pudding free lady said unfortunately not Shall not go to Wentworth arms again. Paul Greenwood

Four of us visited Friday lunchtime. Our orders were taken quickly and I checked that everything had been ordered as requested. Our first hiccup was that half of the four starters arrived (there was a misunderstanding by the employee that had taken the order, they came over to sort it out and apologised, which was appreciated). However, service then went downhill from there. We waited quite a while for the second half of our starters to arrive, there was a long queue at the bar as staff were diverted to help in the kitchen. All-in-all it took two hours from our arrival for three courses to be delivered to our table. Again there was an error with desserts: two arrived with custard instead of ice-cream and we really didn't want to mention it as service was under so much pressure. We were asked if everything was okay and when I mentioned the error with the desserts there was a very genuine apology. I think that the amount of errors and the long time in food being served is because of understaffing. Whilst I understand that the hospitality sector is struggling in retaining staff this is not the fault of the customer and I feel for the employees on the frontline who are having to deal with the resulting issues. Hats off to them, they remained polite and cheerful throughout the time we were there, but the pressure they are under isn't sustainable. You will end up losing staff, customers or both.

The food was lovely and service was great, we were served by Cherise and she was very helpful and attentive! Would deffo recommend!
