The George & Dragon in Rutland

Stayed one night, didn't have dinner. Lovely clean room, great facilities. Breakfast superb. Friendly efficient staff. Would strongly recommend.

This year, we've eaten here twice and have always been very complimentary. This time we were unfortunately very disappointed. My daughter was with us for the weekend and we were looking forward to a great meal. I'd already told her what a great place it is and how good the food is...I left feeling very embarrased.We all had a starter, main and a cheeseboard to finish. The cheeseboard was very good, but you can't really screw up a cheeseboard, can you?!The starters very underwhelming. My partner and daughter each had the scallops...it sounded so nice. 2 tiny scallops on a cm thick piece of black pudding on a bed of mushy peas, served in a bowl, was fairly grim, and my souffle clearly hadn't risen as expected. It had been tipped out onto a plate then seared under the grill until bubbling...it looked horrific but actually tasted great!For her main, my partner had steak and fries. The steak was perfectly cooked and delicious, as were the fries.My daughter had the duck with creamed leeks, rosti potato & blackberry jus. The duck was not well seasoned and pretty bland...and everything was served in a bowl, so the leek, rosti and jus turned into a soup. Not good.I had swordfish with sauteed potatoes and creamed samphire. The potatoes were nice. The samphire was awful, woody and tasteless. The swordfish was tiny (about 6cm across) and thinly sliced but it was nicely cooked. The biggest problem was this was also served in a bowl, so everything quickly turned to mush in the bottom!Perhaps chef was having a bad day...out of the 3 meals we've had here, 1 has been a car crash.

Stayed for 2 nights to catch up with friends. Friendly and attentive staff, lovely food, great atmosphere, rooms were really nice, decor and gardens are also lovely. If you want a little village stay or meal out id definitely recommend. We will certainly be back!

We have just returned from a lovely two night stay here. We really enjoyed the area and this was a perfect base. Lovely room and very comfortable bed. Breakfast was well cooked and enjoyable on both mornings. Staff are really friendly and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place. The only thing negative I would say is that food is only served here from Thursday evening to Sunday lunch, which is not mentioned on the website that I could see.

Where do we start, wonderful b n b accommodation, we stayed in the Stag room there are 3 in total and are modern en suite rooms. Excellent breakfast,but the food in the afternoon and evening is first class. The quality is from a 5 star restaurant. All the staff are so polite helpful and engaging. Seaton is off the beaten track in beautiful Rutland but you won't be disappointed. A hidden gem

Following recommendations from friends, we decided to try it and we were not disappointed!There is a comprehensive, reasonably priced wine list, as well some fantastic, well-kept, locally brewed beers including the wonderful “1050”.The staff were attentive and observant, without being pushy.Refreshingly, there is not a vast variety of food on offer; what there is beautifully cooked and well presented.Our first course was salmon tian. It looked to be too much for a starter but it was surprisingly light, and delicious with capers running through it. A couple of pieces of lightly-toasted bread on the side was the perfect accompaniment.Mains were steak & chips, and sea bream with pak choi. The steak was cooked perfectly and just melted in the mouth, and although there was a lot of them, the chips were nicely cooked.The bream was outstanding. It came with pak choi, straw potatoes and a delicious pepper and butter sauce. The whole was sublime. My only criticism is that it was served in a bowl. This made cutting the veg a little awkward, and meant everything was pooled together in the sauce, but given the choice of no bream or bream in a bowl, I’ll take the latter!Pud was cheese and biscuits; I was initially underwhelmed but the homemade chutney brought it all together. Yummy, give me more!We will certainly be back, and soon!

We were meant to be getting married on Saturday but months before we had to move the date, due to you know what. So rather than sit and mope on the day we should have been trying the knot, we decided to have a night away. We wanted delicious food, in a lovely setting and beautiful accommodation. Well, we got all of that at The George & Dragon with the added bonus of warm, friendly helpful hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything we wanted from the day we got in spades. So much so that it actually felt like that fate had meant us to be there on Oct 24th, rather than getting married. It and they turned a potentially tough weekend into wonderful one. Once were married on our new date, we'll definitely be back as Mr & Mrs, if not before. Can't praise the place or Ralph, Toni and the team enough. Thank you for an amazing weekend. Stuart & Clare

The Inn is located in the quiet village of Seaton and not far from Oakham and Rutland Water. The rooms were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The garden area at the rear is spacious and very pleasant and the bar area is very relaxed.The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, as were the draught ales. We really enjoyed our 4-night stay and definitely plan to return!

We were on a family walk, and stopped off for a drink. A member of staff greeted us at the door and took us through to the courtyard. Track and trace completed. Unfortunately a drunken idiot marred the atmosphere, but when reported, the staff quickly removed them, and were extremely apologetic. Couldn't fault it here and we will return. Thank you to your team.

Having left booking a bit late in the day, many nearby pubs were booked up. Here got good reviews, and we managed to get a table at 8pm, to find it nigh on empty! The online sample menu seemed to indicate it might be a tad expensive, but we were pleasantly surprised to find a great value set menu - £30 for three courses! Our squid starters were well-portioned and beautifully plated. I had a salmon nicoise salad, which was a great size and came with deliciously-roasted new potatoes. My partner's chicken with bacon and mushroom tagliatelle was gorgeous. The only slight dampener was my chocolate brownie was cold-although tasty, it would have been better warm. The Eton mess was great however. A lovely evening with friendly service

Just had such a lovely experience having dinner here with a friend. A warm welcome and really pleasant staff. A lovely three course meal & a nice pink gin on the side with fever tree. Perfect. We sat in the beautiful terraced area out back which was so relaxing. Love that I’m 5 mins drive away & look forward to returning soon x

We had a table of 2 booked for a special anniversary. Unfortunately with the announcement of pubs/restaurants being closed, we were unable to attend . Ralph suggested he now does takeaways and the food turned up steaming hot with a lovely bottle of chotes du Rhône. The food was delicious and this type of approach is why we will be returning once this blows over.

Lovely country pub. Had a mid week overnight stay which was good value for money. All staff were very pleasant and helpful. Our room was fine, clean and warm. The only slight niggle was the small en suite could really do with some hooks/ shelf, there was no where to hang anything or to put your bits and bobs down.Evening meal and breakfast was lovely, we ate in the bar which was a very cosy and welcoming space with leather armchairs and wood burning stove. Can highly recommend.

Just spent two nights at this great pub. Room was comfy large warm and so well decorated. Very clever designer. Price was very reasonable , food excellent, staff so nice. Big thank you to Paul.Would highly recommend this establishment and recommend any one to try, be it b&b or restaurant.Thank you to all staff.

Visited again with friends for a Saturday dinner. Received a good welcome and given a nice table. While the menu has a limited choice, the food was good and tasty. Only issue was that the service was patchy: slow in parts and didn't really meet the standard of the food. Whilst the beer was in excellent condition for the meal, they'd run out coffee afterwards...

Having decided that the food at the White Hart in Lyddington was virtually uneatable our group of 8 came here for our last evening and realised what we had been missing. Excellent food, beautifully presented, extremely tasty and friendly and efficient service. If you're anywhere near you should dine here.

Sunday lunch was tasty but brocolli and cauliflower cheese only just warm. Asked for it to be heated up and came back hot but a little burned and dark brown crispy brocolli is not that appertising. Dessert of almond and plum tart was horrible tasted and smelled of chip pan oil and was just warm along with Luke warm creme anglaise. Couldn’t eat it and no apology and was not deducted from bill. Asked for wine list 3 times, water requested and asked for 3 times.

Stayed here overnight after attending a family function in Kings Cliffe.Very impressed with the"Stag" room.Decent size with large double bed and double aspect.Spotlessly clean with decent size towels and good quality toiletries.Bed very comfortable,with nice thick duvet although pillows a little soft(personal preference).En-suite compact but functional.Again spotlessly clean with a decent power shower.Nice size TV and a full length mirror which is always handy apparently.Could have done with more wardrobe space and room to put own toiletries in bathroom.Had a good nights sleep,with surprisingly minimal road noise especially as the room was overlooking a main road.Had an evening meal in the small bar part of the pub..there is also a very nice dining area as well.The bar was very cosy and comfortable and service was excellent. The food was very good if a little pricey..haddock and chips £15..although they were thick cut chips with lovely thick tartare sauce,mint pea puree and a lovely light batter on the fish.The bar was well stocked and all staff were really friendly and welcoming.The full English Breakfast in the morning was again very nice with good quality produce being used.Little disappointed there was no fresh orange juice..only Britvic mixers,and they ran out of those.All in all an excellent relaxing stay in a very nice pub and excellent value for money.Just what the doctor ordered after a very,very long drive and a challenging day. If you get the chance,walk down the slight hill by the church opposite.There is a public footpath that leads to breathtaking views of the Viaduct and surrounding countryside.

We had been walking in the area and had an excellent lunchtime meal at the George and Dragon. We had picked up the G & D from previous Tripadvisor reviews and we were very pleased. We had an excellent warm welcome, enjoyable beer (well kept) and excellent food, in very comfortable suroundings.

Our first visit and definitely not our last as it’s only 15 minutes from where we live. We had a really enjoyable time overall firstly with a couple of drinks in the afternoon in the garden. We then checked into our room, showered and changed for dinner. The food was as good as anything I’ve had with a sharing baked Camembert to start, I followed with pan fried sea bream and my wife with lamb. We then shared a pavlova. All washed down with a beautiful bottle of rosé which we finished off on a warm evening back in the garden before eventually retiring back to the room. We were in the Hare room which was really nice and comfortable. The next morning we had a lovely cooked breakfast before checking out. Absolutely recommend it. Great pub, staff, food, room, garden. A favourite pub stop coming home from work forty years ago, the George & Dragon is still recognizable, but now has three comfortable rooms above the pub/restaurant. Comfortable beds and a good meal. Recommended for those who don't want to stay in a town, but enjoy a Rutland village pub.

Very enjoyable dinner. Well crafted menu with dishes well presented. My husbands steak was cooked perfectly, I had the rabbit also perfectly cooked and flavoursome.

I visited The George and Dragon and had a 3 course lunch here. I was lucky enough to have won this as a prize at my local fete. The food here is in my opinion worthy of a Michelin star. Every course was delicious. I had a starter which consisted of crayfish in an amazing sauce with salad and the best toasted bread that I have ever tasted. I had the swordfish steak as a main and every aspect of this dish was really tasty. For desert I had the chocolate tart with cherry sauce and chocolate ice cream which was total chocolate heaven. The staff were friendly and attentive and the atmosphere although just a Saturday lunchtime was good.The pub itself is very charming and I loved the art work which was displayed throughout. There is also a wonderful garden which has it's own bar outside. I will definitely be going back as we live quite local and will take our many visitors to this really wonderful jewel of a pub and restaurant.

The drinks were fine, but overall the food was disappointing. Overpriced for what it is, pork was dry and bland, risotto wasn’t as described and tasted like grass, chef refused to make a new meal until he was asked to come out and then quickly decided he would make the meal we asked for... waiters were lovely and helpful and the atmosphere was lovely but the table was really wobbly. No doubt whoever reads this in the pub will just put it down to a one-off but honestly this Restuarant has serious potential but the chef really isn’t doing it justice.

What a find! A lovely village pub in a beautiful village. The atmosphere was really warm and welcoming, and the young people who served us food and behind the bar were cheerful and friendly. Dogs are welcome anywhere except the restaurant.

These guys deserve to succeed. Small menu but original and freshly done: you know when it says pesto that doesn't mean out of a jar from sainsburys. Intimate pub setting with original touches. Book online rather than trying to get them to pick up the phone.

We stayed in the hare room for the weekend which had tasteful decor , which would be excellent with abit of tweeking.

The food here is wonderful it was our first visit and wont be our last. The two lovely young ladies in the restaurant looked after us very well. Good selection of wine, nice ambiance. cant wait to go back.

This is a hidden away pub but it has a good carpark and a warm welcome from the staff. We were spoiled from the start and no rushing or cajoling. A couple of pints in before we allowed ourselves to choose and the food appeared promptly and well presented.

A fantastic pub and restaurant. Ralph the host has created a stylish and rustic country pub which is welcoming and comfortable. The food is fantastic and he cooks up a mean English breakfast with local produce. Highly recommend it & excellent value for money!

This is a nice village pub in a pleasant village. A 'proper' British pub if you like. It's not large but ahs a decent sized car park. The welcome was warm and the beer was OK, I forgot to ask but I suspect they may vary beers. The food was nice.

This pub is quite small, but has very good food. There was a slight mix up with our orders, which was unfortunate, but both the steak and fish and chips (as well as the beer) were good pub food.

Russ & Nick were tipped of about this hidden gem it’s a lovely small pub with a great atmosphere lovely food. We stopped at The George and Dragon on a Saturday night. The meal was delicious, and the service was excellent. The room was great too - clean, comfortable, and high quality furniture. Lovely hot & powerful shower! The breakfast in the morning was great too, and fantastic value that it's included in the room price. Highly recommended.

Just what a great country pub should be. This little gem tucked away in the the Rutland countryside is a cozy good old fashioned pub. Roaring fire, fantastic food from a great menu and all served by a super friendly team. Highly recommend this one if you fancy a great lunch/supper out.

Had a meal tonight at this pub. Both had the sea bream and at a cost of £18. It was a small meal with a few bits on the plate such as Samphire, artichoke purée and a few muscles.

Stayed for 2 nights and what a pleasure they were! Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The atmosphere inside the pub was so welcoming we stayed there all afternoon and evening by the open fire place.

Found this fantastic place just by chance travelling back from a weekend away and taking a gamble on the nearest country pub. Beautiful pub, very warm and welcoming on arrival. Staff smiley and friendly and even though we arrived just after serving time, we were allowed in for a great Sunday lunch. Open fire, great Sunday lunch and to top it all...cauliflower cheese to die for. I had the beef, which was perfect. O/H had the lamb, which was also perfect. Will definitely be returning to this great little place. Thank you so much.

A most welcoming traditional English Inn. Locals very friendly and bar cosy with fantastic ambience. Food second to none for price and rooms clean and comfortable. Breakfast relaxed and top quality. We stayed overnight at the George and Dragon last night as a treat with some friends and what a wonderful evening we had.

I was told about this pub by one of my neighbours. Booked Sunday lunch and it was delicious. The lamb and beef with fresh vegetables were both served medium rare, just how I and my husband like our red meats. Only negative was that it was a little crowded. Despite that, service was excellent and attentive. Plan to return often when less crowded. Interesting menu too especially if you are vegan or gluten free which some of my friends are.

Always über welcoming to our cycling group. Great range of beers and wines and excellent food at reasonable prices.

We had an excellent and perfect meal. The menu was short but sufficiently varied and interesting. The portions generous without being enormous with plenty of vegetables. We can recommend the wild duck (served rare) and the pheasant. Starters and deserts did not disappoint. Finally the staff were outstanding, efficient, attentive and friendly.

Invited as part of a friends surprise birthday meal and the owner and his staff couldn't have been more accommodating or looked after us any better. We'd phoned ahead a week or so before due to our vegan preferences and the kitchen put together a delicious 3 course meal. Other friends dishes looked amazing and all members of the party were delighted with what they ate. Great ales and wine too. Will certainly be going back!

Went last night as a birthday treat for my husband. Bar was full to overflowing. Everyone chatting and looking very happy - great atmosphere. We went through to the small restaurant. Menu is small but to me that means they're not fussing around with hundreds of different ingredients and concentrating on the quality. We had the sirloin on the bone share platter for 2. It was served with skinny fries, tomatoes and mushrooms. Cooked to perfection and more than enough for 2 hungry adults. Meat sourced from a local butcher which is always nice to know. Finished off with a dessert and although my husband said he didn't want one, he managed to polish off his sticky toffee pudding with ease!

We had the most wonderful evening celebrating my sisters birthday. The food and service was wonderful and the staff were so friendly and attentive all evening. Delicious food and a lovely atmosphere. A big thanks to Ralph and his team for making it so special.

My husband booked this as a Birthday treat having heard good reviews from friends. It is a lovely village pub in a pretty location and has off road parking.

Popped in after long lovely dog walk..to have half a dry cider..then felt very hungry..asked if I could eat although had'nt booked..very helpful and accommodating and said I could eat shortly..produced huge plateful of food..roast beef mostly rare what I asked for..but too much on plate..which was a shame as it puts your appetite off..but very nice place and one of my locals so shall be back !

Brother took me for a birthday. Food was delicious. Ambience fantastic. Service amazing. Just a really good pub.

We eat as a group of 6 last night. All the staff very helpful, friendly (and generous) when squeezing us in. The food was superb. We'll be back soon.

Not often do you go out & have NO mild complaint. Here there could be no complaint. The building, the food, the service all exceptional. I would urge anybody to go if you are anywhere close by. Top quality in every respect.

Fantastic food and friendly service. My Roast Beef was blushing, the Cauliflower Cheese was beautifully cooked and delicious. A little gem, in the middle of Rutland, I’m actually loathe to leave a good review, I don’t want to encourage others to experience it. Great value for money, we’ll be back!!!!

I had heard that the George and Dragon was quickly becoming the place to eat near Oakham and managed to book a short notice table. I was not disappointed and the highly regarded reputation the G&D; has is well warranted.

Two areas of consideration for me are quality of food and quality of service.......both were second to none. It was our first visit and we were made to feel like their number one customers by the lovely and knowledgeable Jess, who guided us through both the food and wine menu with enthusiasm and humour. I had all 3 courses and the food looked and tasted divine, it’s a long time since I have felt so enthused by a local establishment and I can’t wait to return! (PS the Malbec was pretty damn good too). Thank you for a smashing evening x

Upon arrival we were greated by the lovely Ralph shown to our room which was clean, spacious and had everything you needed. The sheets and towels were insanely soft (how do you do that?!).

Pleasant restaurant, although a little bright and hard chairs for those of us without much padding! The service was excellent - faultless and very attentive, but sad to say the food didn't quite match up. The choice was rather limited, with top-end prices. We opted to share the 'mixed grill' at £45 for two, which was not very mixed at all, consisting of several slices of somewhat chewy steak and chorizo and no other meat, unlike any mixed grill we have ever had before. The only other things on the plate were a thin slice of roasted tomato and a mushroom. It seems the thin McDonald style chips are popular here, but we didn't rate them. One redeeming factor was the brilliant Berry and Apple Crumble served with ice cream and custard - absolutely divine and the best I've had anywhere - credit where it's due. Just as an addendum, why can't restaurants have BROWN French Mustard, not Dijon - it's so nice with steak, but hardly any seem to have it.

This place is small and has a limited menu and one dish was unavailable. There is a nice outside area. We enjoyed our food.

visited the pub after 9 months abroad. when they first launched food was absolutely spot on. this evening I had swordfish which was amazing however a prime fillet of fish served with a plate full of basic veg and salad probably doesn't quiet go together. my partner had steak and was so covered in BBQ bacon sauce it was barely recognisable as a steak. non the less the food was cooked great, staff on point, drinks and service were great. a little pricey but overall good night. will visit again to give it another shot

Great drinks, food and service! We especially enjoyed our Brockman's G&T;, George & Dragon beer, burratas, convey duck, swordfish and cote du veux. We were glad we had booked in advance as the pub was very busy. A good recommendation by the owner of our holiday cottage.

The duck was a really tasty and attracrive dish. Well worth making a booking. Pub is in a pretty little village and has ample parking.

Busy place so book ahead to get a table at the time you want. High quality ingredients, well prepared and presented with very professional table service. Chefs special desert Bourbon Capuccino is a must try. Only downside is that the menu main course choices are very limiting, only a handful and two were sharing platters.

Gastropub - the pubs in the nearby villages of Morcott and Harringworth are closed so this is very welcome.

Visited for Sunday lunch whilst looking at houses to relocate from the north and was a fantastic treat. Food fantastic, staff 5 start and prices on spot on. A+++++++ of an experience

had an overnight stay at the George and dragon. on arriving was made to feel very welcome . nice enough to have drinks on the patio area. showed to our smart room with all you would want in the room . had a very nice meal and excellent breakfast .

Slightly unusual review in that we didn’t eat or drink at the pub. Instead we were out on a long walk and the weather was really hot. Bumped into the owner as we passed and asked him if there was anywhere we could buy some bottled water and he invited us in to fill up our bottles. Yes a small gesture but one that many wouldn’t make, and after a quick top up and chat we were on our way. Think this says a lot about the place and in that respect a massive thank you... and yes I now fully intend to visit to try some of the food on offer.

Had a lovely lunch at George and dragon, great food and lovely staff. You can eat light with lovely tapas type food to share or something more substantial if you wish. Everyone was very friendly and relaxed. Lunch this time, but will be going back for dinner soon. Highly recommend it for a lovely country pub with first rate food.

We had an evening meal here on Saturday as we had visited previously and had an enjoyable meal. The head chef was away for the weekend and we had been warned when we booked that there would be a limited menu available, which we decided would be okay.

Went here midweek with a mate. Rather than being seated in the dining room we were seated where there’s some extra seating near the bar. This was ideal for us as we didn’t want anything formal or romantic being two guys just wanting a catch up. If you were there with a partner I would ask to go into the dining area as the bar area is quite busy, loud and locals brought their dogs in which again we didn’t mind. On our way out we looked round the rear outside where there is some seating which looked really nice too.

Ralph and his team do not fail to please. The menu is lavish and the quality of the food meets the qualities of a high end establishment. I cannot fault anything about this location. The patrons are all pleasurable and the atmosphere is phenomenal. I will definitely be here for future day as have done before. Well done guys, keep it up.

Visited here for a drink and a spot of lunch after being recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint (we booked in for dinner the following week we loved it so much!).

Lovely friendly pub with a small menu of exquisite food. The food isn’t cheap but it’s unusual and very tasty. The only negative comment is that the noise of the kitchen fan spoils the ambience of the pub beer garden.

A nice traditional pub in a pretty rural village. The food was excellent with friendly helpful staff. I was very impressed. We had three very different main courses between us and we all thought they were lovely. In fact it was one of the best meals I have had in a long time.

This is a lovey little country pub and restaurant. Friendly, professional, excellent staff. The food is particularly good. There is a good wine list too. Easy parking in the private car park. I was told that the boys from the local boarding school Uppingham used to go there for a secret drink many years ago!

First impressions were very good. Really friendly greeting by the staff & the locals. Lovely beer garden. The pub is small but In a cosy way. It’s an old building with lots of character.

Great place - concise menu highlighting fresh quality produce . Inventive chef with some unusual flavour combinations. I ultimate dining area within a lovely building. Service was professional and relaxed. Highly recommend .

Had heard great things about this place but not impressed. The dinner menu is small and very limiting and, we felt, over priced for the food. Steak £26, Pasta with prawns £18 and only about four other mains to choose from. Food was underwhelming although friends who had steak said it was good.

It's pretty cramped in the restaurant, so if you're less than sociable, and are sniffy about other people joining in your conversation, then this pub is not for you.

Was recommended to us for great food. We booked a table for a Sunday roast and was not disappointed at all. Great service and very tasty quality food . Will be returning for more .

I thoroughly enjoyed my excellent meal in this cozy and buzzy pub. There is a restaurant but I hadn’t booked and was directed to a table in the pub. I chose the Parmesan encrusted pork that was accompanied by flavoursome cabbage, perfectly seasoned mashed potatoes and a wonderful jus. I couldn’t resist the dessert menu and decided on creme brûlée with a spiced biscuit. The staff were very attentive and I enjoyed having a short chat with the owner before heading back to my hotel. Totally happy!

The food was delicious. A small menu, but I feel this is preferable and with different dishes to the standard fare seen so often. Imaginatively served.

LOVE what they’ve done with the place, great decor, very light and airy. Bar area is very small so it needs just a handful of people for it to be busy, restaurant is a bit tight but our group - which included a baby and a toddler - was accommodated very well and we were greeted immediately and taken through to our table for some drinks whilst we waited for everyone else. Food tasty, service very good and friendly. We were moved into the bar area just before dessert to set up for the next booking which whilst none of us took issue with, it was slightly inconvenient with the children so perhaps a courtesy note at the point of booking to say when you require the table back as an FYI, that said it was handled very well and very politely so not the end of the world. Overall very good, nice atmosphere and the young man who I assume is the maître’d is great

We ate here with friends as it had been recommended, and we were not dissapointed. The resturant is small and was busy. The staff were really attentive and made us feel very welcomed. The menu is small but everyone was able to choose something they liked. We particularly enjoyed the Camembert for starters, the steak for main course and bourbon cappuccino for dessert. You will need to book to get a table, but it's defibately worth it

Without doubt the best Sunday roast I’ve ever had, anywhere, ever. The meat was incredible, and I loved the skill and care taken in cooking every single thing on my plate. The vegetables were so delicious, sauces homemade and wonderful, gravy so tasty I almost drank it out of the jug.
