The Broad Oak in Broxtowe

Visited Broad Oak for a meal last night with my hubby after a very long day travelling. The food was excellent as was the service. Thanks to Kieran and Lucy for looking after us so well. Highly recommended venue

Won't ever go back very disappointed. Booked a table went to order and was told 30mins wait wanted two fish and chips..... No fish. Went to pick something else and was then told 45mins wait. No sorry. Staff just didn't seem bothered.

Have been drinking in here for a long time now, have to say the new Manager is a disgrace to the Pub and to Greene King, have been in a few times now when he has been there drinking with family to the point where he is VERY drunk, staggering about not a good representation of The Broad Oak which is a beautiful little pub, apart from this all the other staff are fantastic but are all leaving, I wonder why.

Met with friends here for the first time. Ordered Hunters chicken. Not many chips, onion rings not really cooked and brown. The tiny piece of chicken with sauce was burnt with no juice in the bowl. The bacon burnt to a cinder. Quiz night. Couldn't have a conversation as the mike was far too loud. I regularly have a far better meal at Wetherspoons. Didn't order any alcohol as fearful of the prices. Won't be going again. Ever.

Traditional pub with fair value food.

Lovely Mother's day lunch. Mug on the table with chocolate which was a nice touch. Staff friendly and attentive. Area for dogs with treats and water. Loved the atmosphere wonderful

A very traditional pub with excellent food and top quality service. A great atmosphere and is obviously a very popular venue for those near and far.

Lovely little afternoon dinner amongst the horses and doggies. Love this pub the bar staff are wonderful and the service is perfect. Great food and good prices.

Very friendly, with excellent service by Marina and Beck and top quality food prepared by Chris the chef. We will definitely come back for more!

Very nice meals the family were happy with there meals not too busy which was nice but we go early we definitely be popping in again hopefully in the near future

Nice place, good service but avoid the Sunday dinner unless you like microwave meals.

Returned again to celebrate Mother's day with my elderly parents and family. We were given a lovely table with plenty of space around. Although it was very busy we had excellent quick service, food was amazing and so fresh! Especially recommend the Katsu curry which was a first for the family to try but think all six of us would try next time!! A very special thank you to Rebecca who looked after us so well…you work so hard and have the most welcoming smile. Thank you to everyone that helped make the experience a fantastic one! Warm welcome when entering and lovely gift on the table we reserved. Staff were all attentive and lovely atmosphere in this quaint pub. Sitting in the dog area lovely to see blankets treats and water for our four legged friends. If I had to give the final star it would have been food hotter. I can appreciate it's a busy day so would not make a fuss about that when everything else was perfect.

We were not expecting much when we decided to pop in, but wow, what a great find. The atmosphere was very welcoming, the staff were very friendly and happy to help, we were served quickly and decided to have some lunch I had the sweet chilli chicken ciabatta and my husband the classic beef burger, both were delicious, really well cooked and presented. Great experience, and we will definitely return

This 1star review is aimed at Greene King,and not at The Broad Oak pub...l received a £5 off voucher via e-mail...It stated, this was off any spend over £15 and must include a main meal and drinks..As l ordered 2 main meals, it then became "An Offer"and the voucher wasn't applicable. The meal deal was actually advertised on the voucher e-mail. Having looked on a few web sites,this happens with several voucher offers sent out by Greene King..Do they think people are stupid enough to pay full prices to be able to usea £5 off voucher? Obviously so😡

Good value food, pleasant pub, nice location. Worth a visit.

I had fish and chips and rest of the party had gammon. Gammon was faultless however fish was quite small and I had around 8 chips which seems a bit tight given the higher price tag. Didn’t get a warm reception by the two young girls at the bar and had to wait ten minutes until I was acknowledged even though nobody else at the bar. Overall nice atmosphere and decent prices but must be more generous with portion sizes

Love this place ,I always get the katsu curry ,it's very filling and well cooked , staff are friendly and welcoming ,nice atmosphere in the pub, very welcoming to our 4 legged friends

Its still a green king pub but i walked there this afternoon 16/2/24 and it had a lovely pint the best 1 ive had there for a few years and good service aswell . Plus its very dog friendly.

The manager and staff are super helpful and care about the customers they serve. It's just such a shame that Greene King will not spend 1 penny on the inside of a grade 2 listed public house steeped in history and cater only for pubs that are on the large side. Everywhere is in need of a refurbishment and sadly not had one for around 17 years +

A pleasant suprise not been in for a while.

Unfortunately it was packed and very noisy, as it was a Saturday evening. Easy parking, efficient pleasant service, very good price for the meal. Hadn't visited for many, many years. Would go again, but maybe in the afternoon

Another nice option for the Greene King Seniors 3course meal deal.🙂.Great,out of the way,dog friendly location, with a large car park,outdoor seating& close to nice walks over the fields and pathways of Strelley, Swingate&Babbington. Along with other meal deals, veggie,& gluten free options,&great service, this a nice place to visit.

Had to wait quite a while for food to arrive.

First time at this place, staff are lovely and so is pub and the grounds, food was great, kids enjoyed it

Me and my family came here on the 17jan had a booking for 12.15 we all had different meals very nice and got also had desserts which were also very nice. We try and come to the broad oak once a month with the family and we ve always been happy with the meals. Marina and Lucy were very helpful. Hopefully will be back soon thanks Sharon Spray

We had a delicious Sunday Roast last Sunday. Service was fast and the meal was hot, delicious and plentiful.Dog friendly pub with a warm welcome

Since my last visit everything is back to normal now but still a great place to visit for a pint or to eat as the food is lovely and you can eat and drink inside or outside weather permitting ,staff are great,very helpful and friendly and large car park so all good 👍

Met some friends there on a whim..lovely pub. Had coffees and a good old natter. Staff were lovely.

Booked for 11 for a wake.. they had it down for 12 ,.. either way the doors were not open at 11 ,. The person behind the bar was rather rude because having to open "early" and was rude throughout service

We have had Christmas day dinner there today. Omg it was amazing!! The food was delicious and hot, plenty of it too! Service was cracking by all staff. A job well done guys. Thank you so much for a great afternoon. Merry Christmas to all.

Went here as it was our last day at work. we ordered our food, and the waitress brought out opposite tables, food they also offered our food to that table they said it wasn't there's so we said that might be ours but she chose to ignore us and took it back . 15mins later, they brought our food out it was COLD ,DRY, AND IT LOOKED DISGUSTING, so we sent it back .With no appologe from staff but a floor manager came out to see what the problem was .So we explained ,the food came out again, and some of it was better, but some was still cold . While we were eating, not one member of staff came over to ask if we were OK with our food, It was a shame as it is a nice quant and cosy place to go . Probably staff not experienced enough .

Me and my family came here on 18 Dec for our Xmas meal really had a good time all enjoyed it the only downside was that the carrots and Brussels were a bit hard to eat but we still had a good time and the service was very good we have been here quite a few times on different occasions and have always enjoyed our meals hopefully we'll be coming back soon in the new year

We have met here a couple of times before Staff were very friendly and food good. Very generous portions of katsu curry. Some pubs now days seem very cold, maybe can't afford the heating on but it was a pleasure to be comfortable and warm.

We went on 1st December for our Christmas 🎄 party the food came out in good ti.e and it was nice and hot. The services was good the team was very friendly.

We came in on Monday for a meal, it was simply brilliant we food was cooked fresh and it arrive hot, I simple couldn’t moan at all it was just brilliant, the beer pie was backed with a good amount of filling with the pie crispy but soft in the middle that how a pie should be, I should be the lasagna was really good with salad and garlic bread. Marina and Lucy was just fantastic bar ladies, they made us laugh and feel welcome they was just really good We don’t live near there but will be back when we come back to Nottingham will recommend to anyone

Only went in for a coffee with my Mum. Bar staff friendly, helpful, chatty and the place was clean and the atmosphere was warm.

Just know if you are black after 2 drinks you have have to go to the bar for another while others get served at their table. So after the review I got a response. So if I ask for a drink like every other person and I need an app to get drinks to my table, can't I be informed about this to be able to do it at the convenience of my table rather that getting the treatment and response I got. As a first timer there where does it inform you of using an app to order. That's mediocre. It is what it is....and what it is, is I wouldn't be back there again.

We went here recently, the food was okay and the staff were friendly but we waited nearly 40 minutes for dessert. It was not busy

Great service and a selection of alcohol. Friendly atmosphere and dogs and horses are welcome. Good play area and good parking. Outdoor seating with heaters. Food is usually good too

Great food, kids thoroughly enjoyed it. Disappointed they don’t sell bottled water. I would recommend the beef and ale pie.

It was my first time ever in a proper pub, the area around was lovely and beatiful, it was very peacful outside and inside the pub! Great for taking some pictures! The food was really good and the portions were massive. My boyfriend got the grilled mix of meats and I got fish and chips, both of these dishes made us full and we barely finished them. The beer was super tasty and cheap as well. The entire place was also very clean and the girls working behind the bar were so nice! They kept on asking us if everything was okay and if the food was good. We are planning to come back next week!

This traditional English pub sits in a small village. It presents a comfortable, friendly environment with good offerings of both food and drink. The staff are friendly, efficient and provide great service. Can't really ask for more.

Nice friendly place, but can occasionally get a bit rowdy... Not tried the food yet... But good beers, and average prices..

Lovely area, the staff are very helpful and pleasant. Just a little run down outside and in tbe restaurant area. It could be so lovely with a bit of TLC

I've been going here years, long before they did food. At one time it was a lovely little country pub and very well maintained. We popped in to have lunch and to see about booking my fathers wake. We were so disappointed to see the disrepair and had lunch and didn't bother to ask about booking his wake there. The food was OK, a bit pricey for the portion size and the service was good.

Lovely visit today for my wifes birthday. Happy, friendly family place. Happy customers.. Will be back again soon

Another fantastic meal at the Broad oak. Every time we have been the food has always come out promptly and is always hot and fresh, doesn't look like it's been sat under a heat lamp keeping warm. Good selection of beers including a small selection of low/zero alcohol for drivers. Dogs are more than welcome inside, with bowls, fresh water and dog biscuits available to help your self too. Over all a very friendly traditional pub with excellent food and a friendly welcome.

Looking like it needs a major referb. The back garden is in a major state of disrepair and needs to be overhauled. We used to go here a few times a week but very rearly go now as no atmosphere.

Beautiful place will definitely be going again. Very family orientated. Didn't have food, but will definitely try next time. Great work guys

I love this place. I live in Nederlands now but always visit when I come to Nottingham. Always good service and for a country pub very reasonable prices. Good selection of beer.

Food was disgusting felt sick after eating .fish had soggy batter and wasnt cooked enuff the place needs a good clean the ladies toilets stank of wee and the hand wash dispenser was off the wall the toilets need refurb wont eat there again 😡 waste of money staff are a bit miserable tables wernt even clean all sticky just a dirty pub wot a shame coz the village is lovely

Visited for lunch with a friend lovely friendly staff and surroundings. But the food was disappointing we had chicken pieces in ciabbetta bread very small no avacardo as stated when pointed out 2 thin strips offered and the maceroni cheese was small and dry, we were disappointed in the food.

Decent pub food but always rather a long wait for food, usually over an hour.

Fantastic service from the staff and the food was excellent. We had Beef & Ale Pie and Mash with Onion rings as side, finished off with Eton Mess Sundae and Apple & Blackberry Crumble Pie with Custard.
