Lovely staff. And great food ,, I had a steak knife and didn’t realise I was using the wrong side of the blade ,,, it was that tender , mixed grill fantastic, but go when your really hungry there’s loads

Came in last night quite late and there was 8 of us:/ but that was not a problem for them, we placed our order with the young girl and we decided to have a starter, the chefs got our starters and mains out in 45 minutes!! They young girl that served us was lovely and even though she got a little busy she still managed to look after us like we where the only people in the pub, which I really appreciate! Thankyou so much, this was the best last meal as a family of 8!

Fine pub in the area to watch sports and grab a drink. Prices aren't as cheap as you would expect but not expensive.

Popped in on off chance, and decided to have a meal as looked nice. Wasn't disappointed as both starters and main good, would defiantly recommend and will come back.

Booked a christmas meal for six 22nd November for ladies that lunch.We all worked together at one time and like to keep in touch. The meal was beautiful, really large portions, needless to say my eyes were bigger than my belly and went home a bit to full. would highly recommend.

I used to love this place, nice food normally and good value for money, especially from the 2 for £12 selection. What truly let it down for me was when I recently invited my mum and nephew, as well as a family friend, and my mum's lasagne was burnt to the point of being crispy in the middle and my nephew's mash was lumpy and clearly undercooked! Heck they didn't even put gravy on it nor did they ask if we wanted any, we had to request it.Another bad experience I had was when I was trying to discuss money with a friend to decide who was paying for what and the guy behind the bar said "Are you going to order anything or not??". I felt this was very rude and even told them if he carried on with his attitude I wouldn't have bothered and he should consider himself lucky I generally like the food there! However due to recent bad experience I'm not so sure I'll be going back.

Called in to watch the football and decided to have a meal..Large car park to the rear of the pub so easy parking.Large varied menu...Chose the cottage pie& liver meals off the 2 for £12 menu..Both were cooked and presented nicely,and were good value for money..Friendly atmosphere, so well worth a visit...

What used to be a good pub once as now gone down within the last 2 years or so and getting worse, first they took all sky tv, then waiting times are a joke and it’s about time they spent money on the pub

We came in on a Monday afternoon just before our holiday, for a few drinks and a catch up with our friends. The barmaid (Kirstin) was really welcoming and lovely, really engaged in conversation and asked us about our holiday and our plans which we really appreciated. The pub was relatively busy with only Kirstin on the bar but she worked really hard to ensure everyone was served really quickly, with brilliant customer service at all times. We ordered some sides to eat, and both the bar service and kitchen service was excellent!! The food came out really quickly and was brilliant! Credit to the chef on that day! Such a lovely place to visit and I’ll definitely come again! Not a place to miss!

We were due to try another pub, that happened to be shut!.. we dropped in the Hayloft instead. Was welcomed by lovely bar staff, and had a lovely meal :)

Pub near large retail park, good selection of beers, nice selection on menu, with prices to suit, friendly attentive service, excellent food served very promptly. Summary, warm welcome, cold beer, hot food, will be back.

Pedí unas costillas y pollo, tardé 35 minutos en salir y las costillas estaban frías, así que subí al bar para avisarles (nadie viene a preguntar cómo está tu comida). La camarera me quitó el plato, y unos 7 minutos más tarde, sale el mismo plato con la misma carne recalentada, la mitad de las costillas (las partes obvias cortan la parte que empecé y escupí) y las mismas patatas fritas, aros de cebolla y guisantes pero todos estaban fríos ahora. Además de eso, la camarera / chef que me trajo la comida parecía bastante ofendida porque tenía la audacia de quejarme. . . .

La segunda vez que esto sucedió, un sábado por la tarde, el área del bar estaba muy ocupada, solo 1 miembro del personal sirvió detrás del bar.

apareció para un bocado rápido, ojalá no lo hubiéramos hecho. servicio pobre se olvidó de poner la máquina de café y se olvidó de hacer café. Las patatas fritas eran pasables y los sándwiches eran pobres. Medio de sándwich bonito pero resto rock. difícil. Hemos visitado muchas veces antes, pero la duda volverá otra vez.

Called in for lunch staff very friendly. Food very good i had a mixed grill fully stuffed there was that much no room for any evening meal.

Came for lunch, one meal cold, one clearly left under a hotlamp too long, (but at least it was warm) and one meal was not what was ordered, what came to the table wasn't even on the menu,the impression given was the cook didn't care, and the front of house staff wanted to be elsewhere. Will not go back and wouldn't recommend.

We went to the Hayloft on 19th Jan to celebrate our Sons birthday. There were 8 adults and we all had different meals from the very extensive menu. All of the meals came on time, the food was hot ,well presented. and our Waitress very polite and cheerful.Food prices are very competitive and good value for money. We will certainly visit The Hayloft again.

Muy raro puse una mala crítica en Tripadvisor y, lamentablemente, en esta visita, mi hermana y yo visitamos su pub local 8 días antes de Navidad, consulté el sitio web de los pubs y vi una comida festiva. Al llegar, mi hermana compró las bebidas y nos sentamos y miramos el menú, no pude encontrar nada festivo, así que le pregunté al hombre del bar y me dijo que tenía que hacer un pedido previo con 2 semanas de anticipación. Hemos comido aquí desde hace algunos años, solía ser genial, pero creo que posiblemente ha cambiado de manos recientemente, hay que esperar mucho tiempo para comer y solo una persona que sirve en el bar espera demasiado tiempo para tomar una copa, espero que la clase Ya que solía ser uno de mis pubs favoritos para comer, lo intentaré de nuevo el próximo mes, pero esa será la última oportunidad que impresionará.

Llamamos hace un mes o algo así y tuvimos una buena comida, así que decidimos volver a intentarlo. . Gran error, esperamos mucho tiempo y fue solo a la hora del almuerzo. Tuve un sándwich con una ensalada lateral floja y húmeda, y patatas fritas grasientas quemado. Mi marido pidió el curry. Era la parte patética más pequeña adecuada para un niño. Nunca más

The menu is quite large, but might be better if less choice. Burgers feature heavily, not many lighter bites, and the service though very polite seemed to take forever even though we seemed to be the only ones eating this lunchtime.

Hubby and I called in here for a drink and bite to eat , landlord was lovely very friendly and chatted to us that he’s recently taken over this very spacious and great pub , hubby had real ale which he said was “spot on”! We ate fish and chips and veg fajitas both delicious and huge portions, not expensive and would highly recommend, we will definitely be back

My wife and I called into the hayloft for the first time in ages and were pleasantly surprised at the improvement in the pub since our last visit. The place at first appeared to have had a makeover, but we realised that in fact it was just really clean and tidy. The bar staff were very pleasant , happy and helpful with our choice of beer, the food was also excellent.

Very good menu and service always feel welcomed here. Would love to have an evening meal but a bit to far to travel. Nice selection of beers too.

This is not your easy to find tourist spot. Thank god!! Just off the highway, or a place to stay, we were actually trying to find some else. Accidentally just called here because we were tired of looking for somewhat else. I’m very glad we did. Friendly staff, very helpful. Good locals, good fish and chips and a nice curry. Good cask ales.

been here twice with my daughter had steak bagettes they were lovely , but the peppercorn sauce was awful, tasted like pure cream with pepper sprinkle on the top, cheese and onion sandwich was ok , cheap and cheerful , onion rings are nice chips a bit hard and service a bit slow

This is a nice pub and full of character. It has decent beer and does the standard food selection but is unfortunately let down by poor service as they never have enough staff on.

new owners have taken over the hayloft and the home made food is delicious especially the pies. we had sunday lunch which was excellent served on large plates, the beef just melted in your mouth fantastic value .The chef also makes lots of other tasty meals. The staff are very friendly and helpful its a lovely atmosphere most enjoyable all round .

This is our local! I’m always in here with my friends however since the old landlord left this place has gone to shambles! Went for dinner with the family tonight the bar staff are sat at the end of the bar using terrible language whilst people are trying to eat! The service was slow and very unprofessional! It’s a shame! I thought the new landlords were here to make a change and not a negative change!!!

Despite advertising food till 6 - tables being laid, menus out etc - and being told to take a seat and take table number to the bar, when I asked for a child’s menu I was abruptly told the kitchen closed at 4 - no apologies or explanation - we left, and won’t be back...

Great atmosphere, very old traditional feel, pool table, great food menu and friendly service. full selection of alcohol and none alcoholic drinks.

Eaten here many times. Try to have something different each time and never been disappointed. Always plenty on the plate and alway hot.

Just called in for one after work what a selection of real ales on as I said 1 had to sample all 4 taxi home cost 5.80 could have staid for a couple of more and the walk home blue monkey is my favourite but was told bishops farwell is on next forget the taxi well done enjoyed the night (despite a telling of from the wife)

Came here with my daughter on friday night was greated with a warm welcome ordered drinks and asked about food was explained that the menus are on the table .we sat down and the guy in a suit very well presented came and took our order .food came and was well presented and hot and very tasty well enjoyed night great service will be coming back very soon

So much for giving somewhere a second chance.walked in at 8.30 on August bank holiday,sat down to study the menu but was approached by the staff before we could select and told that because of bank holiday,they were stopping taking orders early.this despite someone 3 yards away clearly about to start eating his plate of food in front of him that had just been delivered.actually quite like the food here but don't bother going later in the day,you may as well toss a coin as to whether you'll get a meal.2nd time this has happened here now,people running it are a joke.

I find it really hard to believe a that a pub owned by a company like Greene King can have such poor service!Can I have a glass of dry white wine please? sorry got no wine glasses - well the place is busy but not to the extent that they should run out of wine glasses!I'll have a pint of Stella then please - will it be OK in a Guinness glass? Errrr no not really as Stella spend millions on making a glass that enhances their beer! I could go on - needless to say we left and went elsewhere.I really don't understand how a "local" and the only one for a great distance doesn't want to try and get more custom. The staff were arrogant, bordering on rude and a conversation with The Manager" was an absolute waste of time. Not a great experience and couldn't recommend on this performance!

Just had lunch, burger with chips and trimmings. The chef was very helpful and offered me choices of sauces. For the price the food is a bargain. Service is great bar staff very helpful and friendly. Good atmosphere ambient music and once again a chef that actually takes pride in his cooking.

Came here with some friends. Done was very reasonably price and didn't take long to arrive. Staff were very polite .most costumers seemed to know each other so felt very friendly and good atmosphere. Plays a good range of music that will appeal to most people. Also have a good range of sport for those interested. Overall a great pub to come for food or just a drink.

Me and a friend went fore lunch.food was good.but they had no heating it had broken.the pub is very filthy.the chef came out to see if we enjoyed the food and apologised for no heating.they was waiting for an engineer to come out.friend had lasagne and chips.I had pie and chips.we wouldn't go again.

Visited last night as we'd been a few times and really enjoyed it,food pretty good and reasonably priced.food advertised as being till 9 so arriving at 8.40 felt quite safe.partner started queuing immediately while i found a table.following a 10 minute wait,she returns to the table with 2 drinks having been told chef had informed her they were taking no more food orders(at 8.50pm?).really don't like this sort of thing,your hours are your hours like it or not.wont be rushing back.shame really as have enjoyed it in past and even complimented them on their food

Just popped in for two or three pints en route for a curry locally. Nice old pub , very large. Decent selection of beers , especially bitters. Good central location. Have been many years previously when I think they did quiz type events. Worth a look. I think they do Blue Monkey Beers ( but I was slightly inebriated )

I only used this pub for a drink with my wife. We arrived Saturday evening around 6.30. Apparently there were two staff supposed to be serving. The young lady could do no more to oblige serving everyone she could with a smile and apology. The young man however was never there to help and always disappearing in the kitchen. People including myself were kept waiting for five minutes in a relatively empty pub. He seemed to have an attitude. I heard a local say when asking if he was in that he would not employ him. It is also in need of a good clean and refurbishment. Shame really as good location and was indeed a very popular pub some years ago.

I really don't know what has happened to this pub. Visited lots of times for food in the past and it was always good. Prices have increased a lot. Ordered the large fish and it was really small. Waited for food 45 minutes but not told of a wait. Sunday lunch was only luke warm and meat was rubbish. Won't be returning.

Visited on Saturday evening for a meal. We have visited a few times before and have not been disappointed. We ordered our food and it was brought to our table in good time, well presented, piping hot. I had the sweet potato and chick pea banquet meal. It was very tasty but quite spicy. If I had to make a suggestion it would be to serve it with some raita to cool the spice down a bit. To be honest I didn't finish the curry as it became a bit too "warm" for my liking but it was tasty. It was served with rice, naan bread, poppadoms, pakora, samosa and bhaji plus mango chutney. Very big portion! Will definitely go back to The Hayloft but will choose something different next time. Service was great and staff very friendly.

Great had mega grill and surf turf. Great staff and nice location was recommended by local lady called Donna I think we meet in eastwood hall swimming pool

Went for dinner on Sunday had 2 beef regular size and a kids beef, we all enjoyed great selection of vegetables, decent food at reasonable price quick efficient service

This was my first visit to the Hayloft, my husband has been a few times with friends and said it's lovely....he was right! Loved the layout of the place, cozy, rustic and we sat in our own little "snug" which was tucked away but still close to the bar. I had the chicken breast burger and my husband had the meat tower burger (it was huge!). Mine was lovely, a grilled chicken breast with crispy streaky bacon, melted cheese, lettuce and tomato served in a toasted brioche bun. It came with a couple of onion rings, small pot of spicy tomato relish and gorgeous sweet potato fries (I upgraded to these fries instead of skinny fries). It was so nice! Presentation was great, the plates were warm too which made a difference. My husband said his burger was amazing. The staff were friendly and welcoming, food was piping hot and it was excellent value for money. I was very tempted by the dessert menu but to be honest I didn't try one as I was too full! Maybe next time because there will DEFINITELY be a next time! Would definitely recommend this little gem of a pub!

Rubbish on tables and floor. quality of the food is not worth the price on the menu. Would I visit again? Probably not. The "slow cooked" meat was definitely not slow cooked as it didn't fall off the bone and was quite tough and fatty.

Visited for their "Yule Time" meal .... superb quality, superb value for money .... very efficient and friendly staff.... Would highly recommend.... it will not be long before we return.

Recently came here on a Friday night with some friends for the disco, enjoyed some of the best food I've had at a pub! The lasagne was spot on. The disco was brilliant with a whole range of music being played for a wonderful atmosphere... unfortunately every time we went to the bar there were 2 young men behind the bar one of which was tall,polite,kind and trying to serve everyone the best he could but the other dark haired man kept disappearing into the back or too busy talking to others to serve despite his colleague asking him to serve multiple times. When I got speaking to some regulars they said that this always happens with him. Luckily the tall gentleman apologised for any waiting and was friendly and made us feel welcome... would come back again but need more staff like the tall man, unfortunately don't know his name but overall a lovely pub

I was with a relative, & we had been to Ikea, he mentioned their was a pub up the road & that we could get something to eat.The pub is on a main road & there is a large car park at the rear.We waited in the car for them to open at mid-day & when we went in, I liked the olde world look to it, with flagstone floors & beams in the ceiling, it's nice to see a pub that has not had it's innards ripped out & replaced by a bland modernist interior.Their were lots of tables & the staff were friendly & welcoming, I paticularly liked the pub as it is a Greene King Brewery pub.We ordered 2 cheese, & smokey bacon burgers, & two drinks, when the burgers came they were really big in a toasted bun, a side of fries, some tomato relish, & really nice onion rings. I was full after eating mine, was it value for money, yes without a doubt, it was £6.29 for the burger meal & for what you get, I recommend it. I would call in again if ever in the area.

My wife and I called in for a 2 for 1 at £12. Having been several times before we knew what to expect and were not disappointed. Straight forward food but well done no complaints at all.

Nice place to pop in for a pint and a cheapish standard lunch/dinner. Nothing exciting but you get what you pay for and have always had nice food. The beer garden is a sun trap so gets very busy when good weather.

After coming here a couple of times now birthdays, general, friends ect I recommend coming here again with the family for another birthday meal where to start on entering it was quite busy went to the bar and got a very warm welcome told the man behind the bar we had a table booked he did no more than take us to the table also made us aware of the specials board.ordered food and all came out fine hot and fresh and tasty this place is great for all sorts of get togethers all the family enjoyed it well done also I see there has been new signs outside that looks great nice to see a pub spending money on it rather than take take take

This pub is literally a 5 minute walk from my house and tbh I'd prefer to drive 39 minutes away then go here! The decor inside is outdated and it smells! The food is poor, I had chicken here when I was pregnant and it was so bloody and poor quality I sent it back and got a refund as I didn't dare risk eating food from here

Stopped here for a quick lunch on our way to IKEA. We had the 2 for £12 menu and it was lovely. I had the gammon that was so tasty and mum had portobello mushrooms and she said they were great. Only reason it did not get a 5* is that it needed a good clean on the tables. The menus were covered in sticky coke. But we will defo being going again when passing. Staff were also very friendly and polite.

Having lived close to this little gem decided to try it one day wow there burgers were fantastic proper burgers juicy n tender not dry big beer garden and parking round the back of pub I would call this a homley place attentive staff and clean ps even the toilets were clean but yea a must visit place

We took a party of 32. The food was good value, well cooked pub food and served efficiently. The beer was good too with a choice of 3 real ales.They were very efficient handling our group booking and pre-orders. The staff were pleasant. The decor is in need of some attention but didn't detract from our overall experience.

Again not disappointed with the hayloft cracking pint of old trip going down well in the amazing beer garden can I just say how nice the hanging baskets are well done HAYLOFT

Dropped in today for dinner spoke to a regular in the car park who recommended the beef, had a large medium and small beef dinner and it was faultless, really tacky home cooked great see ib and decent value, was well worth the visit went at 2 pm still full at 19:00

I do have fond memories of the hayloft and it is just such a shame that it is just not looked after.To start there was broken glasses in the beer garden. Not somewhere to take the children! The toilet carpet has seen better days, probably about 40 years ago. They had duck tape sticking the holes in the carpet down so that they were not trip hazards. The door wouldn't lock on the toilet near the sinks.When ordering a pint of cider it was £4.45!!! I was a bit surprised as at this price I would expect nice toilet facilities at least and a clean and safe garden area.Such a shame as they had some lovely hanging baskets of flowers in the beer garden and I do like the look of inside the pub it just let's itself down on a few things.I've not eaten here for a few years so unable to personally comment on food. However some friends said their food was ok, just microwave pub grub.Hopefully they can sort these niggles out.

the burger was raw in the middle and black on outsite, chips was out a freezer bag , i wouldnt go there again.

We went here for a meal for my Nans 90th birthday, staff friendly, the food was nice, you get what you pay for with a pub lunch, it was nice and quiet for my nan with it being in the week, it always looks very busy at the weekends.

Went with friends for a cheap tea and catch up, food was freshly cooked and was a ok meal. For what we paid we were more than happy

What I got - a really decent veggie burger with a decent serving of good chips, 2 rather nice onion rings and a small garnish of coleslaw for £5.95.What I didn't get - any service - order and pay at the bar and clear your own plates off the table 20 minutes after you've finished eating.But who cares???? A decent plate for food for less than £6 with no fuss - a total bargain.

If you want a burger, any burger, thus is the place to go. An excellent burger menu with some quite novel additions. This was our 1st visit to the hayloft. We went on Sunday 15TH May. From the moment we arrived just after 12pm,, the welcome was warm and friendly. We had chicken, ham and leek pie ....and quorn sausage and mash. The meals were 1st class, as was the service . The staff were friendly :)Will return again, without a doubt

Again I find my self coming here for food again not been for a couple of weeks last time was sons birthday this time with my sister and her boyfriend it was busy and not a lot of spare tables a man in a suit came up to us (not sure if he was the manager) but politely asked us to have a drink at the bar and he would get a table for us 5 minutes later came and found us all food was lovely and we all enjoyed our night well done and thank you 5***** service

We eat at the Hayloft when we come to visit my son who lives a five mins drive away. We have always found the staff pleasant, the food uninspiring but adequate and well cooked also reasonably priced. If we want Cordon Bleu then we would go elsewhere and pay through the nose for it. Good basic food. We will be back again in June.

Came in on lunch break from work enjoyed the big boppa burger and then even had a real ale 9 called the hayloft bitter very pleasant

Popped in to grab a bite to eat with my aunty. Been here a few times for food and really enjoyed it. This time was no different for me. However my aunty had the special which was hotpot, mash and peas. Half way through the hotpot she began to find a lot of fat and no meat. What meat there was it was very chewy and tough. Seems like it needed cooking a little longer. Great service though and the fish and chips were great!

Great service and lovely pub food and well priced. It has a great selection of real ales which is great, and the staff and very helpful.

Been here before the other month said I would return with family my son's 16th birthday party of 20 had all sorts off menu and the specials board and all came out fine 2 delivering food and contined checking whether we was ok great service and my son enjoyed his birthday

The Hayloft is my go to local pub, great for watching the sport and often enjoy the pub quiz on a Sunday night with all the lads. One thing they are lacking is a good selection of beers and unfortunately they are unable to offer the same kind of selection that you can get at The Lady Chatterley, I think if this selection improved it would definitely see more people walk through the doors. The pub grub is nothing to shout home about and you can get better elsewhere locally for around the same price but it's steady none the less. Their rocknroll burger menu is a great addition to the menu though and I would say that this hasn't disappointed whenever I have eaten one. All in all a great pub to hang out with you mates, the layout of the building allows for private seating but at the same time does feel like your shut off from the rest of the pub.

Popped in for a swift drink after work was just passing but ended up spending a while here chatting to folk and having a burger. Staff were friendly and very helpful recommending me the trooper to drink and a Johnny Cash to eat. Both excellent, will be back with family in tow.

This is a pub we often visit for lunch. The food is wonderful. We had sausage and onion baguettes and they were really tasty and well cooked. Usually, we go for Sunday lunch and have always enjoyed it. The food is plentiful and nicely cooked and presented by pleasant staff members. Prices are also very reasonable.

Arranged to meet friends here last night Fri 8th ordered food came within a good time I had the farmers grill wow wow wow for the price I could not fault it well done got my vote bringing the family over next week

I use to go to the hayloft once a week with my family for a meal until it started getting full of loud drunken males shouting and swearing. I returned this week to see if it had got any better but no. We had a meal but couldnt get out quick enough felt uneasy. Another couple who we sat near felt the same will not be going back

been a few times, mainly with younger relatives as the food is mainly burgers. Rest of menu leaves lot to be desired. Tried a Sunday Lunch once - awful; rubbish meat, rock hard roasties and so-on. I think the fact that the place if vitually empty at Sunday lunchtime and the rest of the week regarding food, come to that, says it all - all the decent places local need booking and are full.
