Food is delicious ! Lots of choice and good size portions ,never had a bad meal here. We dined upstairs where the views out the windows are lovely and the service is great , nothing too much trouble. The beer batter onion rings are so good !

Food was lovely, tasty and well presented. Menus needed wiping down though as they were a little grubby with drink and food stains.

Very busy be prepared to wait, good choice of meals.

Had hunters chicken and it was out within 10 minutes of my order, food was delicious too. Staff are friendly and accommodating to all creatures. Decor is beautiful, makes it a perfect place to stop off when on the trails

If you value your money and gut health don’t go here. The food is quite frankly disgusting, under or over cooked and bland. Looks and tastes like it’s been left standing for weeks. Ordered the burger lettuce was brown and wet, burger resembled corned beef, bun was hard and shrivelled. Coleslaw bland with skin over the top. Chips tasteless. Sent back and brought out a £14.99 pizza uncooked with a sour cream that tasted as smelt like gone off milk. Kids meal burger was the same, my child went hungry. Me and my mother had sickness and diarrhoea after having a few mouthfuls of this food and returning it for a refund. The place is dated and needs a glow up along with the staff.

Tried here for the Tuesday lunch offer. Food was nice But the wait was 1 hour 25 mins for the main course. And when I asked staff They never even came back Had to ask another. Wasn’t impressed and would not recommend

Went on a Sunday for 2 birthdays, accommodated us very well as there were 40 of us, the food was amazing, great service, would highly recommend.

This place is a godsend to those who want a decent portion of food , good quality meals , and as an absolute bonus Tuesday evening is two for a tenner. This place has now become our resident restaurant , and will carry on visiting on a regular basis 😀. Would recommend one hundred per cent always been more than satisfied, and makes you want to return again .

Worst omelette. I've ever had in 60 years.it was that burnt I left it, .that's when it's expensive. The couple on next table didn't get what they asked for 🤑😡

The food was excellent,at a reasonable price.However,they obviously make up for their reasonable price by charging over the top for drinks. £6.06 for a pint of Guinness & blackcurrent is nearly as much as a fairly local Greene King pub charges for a 3 course meal,and they don't over charge for drinks.

This was our first visit, we went out for a bite to eat to save cooking. The food came pipping hot, the portions were enormous, reasonably priced. We will definitely go again

First time for a long time. On entry what was noticed was how loud the music was playing on a radio or something like that. Difficult trying to find somewhere that wasn't so loud. The lunch menu seemed to have more choice on for us but that stops at 5pm as we really didn't want a big meal like steak etc. But we opted for surf and turf. Service was ok and the food. The food came and we didn't have to wait long and decided on sweets consisting of cheesecake and fudge cake which were both ok. On the whole not a bad visit but just the music too loud.

Great food, let me down today. Went cash only and then after meal found out they do not take £50. Was a very disturbing time to get sorted, I had to borrow money! Not bad to say I eat here every week, or did!

Very regular customers here and usually could not fault the food and service we receive. There are quite a few new members of staff and I think that will to make sure no one leaves unhappy has gone. After booking a week previous and entering today there was a sign saying cash only. Usually I have no cash, but today I did so no worries. My party all ate and had a very good meal and the service was good, that was until payment time, the only cash I had included a £50 note. It felt the staff were joyous in telling me they didn't except them. Maybe we should have been called before we came of the cash only and no 50's. Even so as it was your issue cash only was the only payment method and being a regular taking my money would have been the best choice for customer service, to be ridiculed by your staff members all around smirking was not enjoyable. I was not offered any Management review of the circumstance I was in, and to be told we don't take them because of counterfeits and your inability to be able to check them. Its the same method as 20's! Obviously I looked like a crook and the fact I ate there once every week and twice every other week I am unfamiliar to you. Luckily one of my friends we dined with had some extra cash to borrow me to pay, otherwise what? The staff didn't even notice we didn't make are booking for next week , why would we? or they were relieved to get rid of such a shabby customer. You all did! I am booking elsewhere. Very disappointed, this was a lovely place to come.

Devices I e. iPods etc ought to be banned after a certain time.

Visited here today with a group of friends . Starters all arrived very quickly and were lovely and hot . We then waited for over one hour for the mains to arrive which were all cold . We requested that the meals were warm . The chef was extremely rude storming through the restaurant huffing at our table making us feel very uncomfortable . Food was returned a few items at a time with only half the meal so when the second half arrived the first part again was cold . Steaks were reheated / over salted and rubbery . Partial refunds were for 5 people reluctantly and no apology offered . Young rude immature female member of staff stood at the bar smirking in our direction . Management disappeared and didn’t come over to the table to offer support to her team . Party of 8 all extremely disappointed , upset and very hungry !

Excellent variety on the menu. The steaks were all fantastic. Sweet and sour chicken dishes were also really nice and great value. 👍

Steakhouse! More like mistakehouse! After delicious starters waited 1hr 20 for mains. My meal had cold chips & lukewarm steak. Party of 8 and almost all meals sent back as cold. Same steaks returned to table (had been cut into so easily recognisable), not hot and oversalted. Chicken burger reheated. No apology and full refunds given for 5 people. Apalling service, disgraceful that not one person apologised. Would recommend avoid at all costs

The experience of this restaurant was abysmal. We were treated horrendously! The staff were immature and intimidating and the food was even worse! Stone cold, poorly presented and that salty it was inedible. The complaint management was unacceptable and at no point did any member of staff offer any kind of apology. Please do not waste your hard earned money or time attempting to visit.

We rang here at 20:40 after running late. They were very accommodating and stated that as long as we ordered before 9 we would be fine. We ordered at 20:55 feeling a little guilty regarding the kitchen staff. The food was still really really good. This place seems to be as good now as it’s ever been. Friendly staff who are every helpful, and some really coke chefs. They will definitely be seeing a lot more of us. Thanks.

Very disappointed with our visit. The roast dinner has halved in size and nowhere near enough gravy to cover even half of the dinner. Asked for extra gravy and we got one tiniest gravy jug for 4 people! That wasn't even enough for one of us! No one came to ask if everything was ok with our meals and there were no members of staff around. After our plates were collected, we then waited 45 minutes for the dessert to arrive! It was ordered at the beginning when we ordered our mains. There was a lady cleaning a table so I asked her if the desserts would be long, she said she'd check. She never came back and the desserts were still 20 minutes after that! No apology or anything. It wasn't even busy, most people had been and gone. We used to go there alot but seems to have gone downhill. Very disappointed as it was a family birthday meal.

I have been to Brinsley Lodge several times and have never had a bad meal. I can highly recommend the steak with the Wexford sauce. The chips are real chips not the usual rubbish most restaurants serve up.The staff are really helpful and friendly. Can't really fault the place except the decor could probably do with a refurb. Five stars all round.

No one in the main ground floor room when I visited, a Tuesday evening about 18:30. The food was cooked fine but nothing special.

Went for my husband's birthday, that was a big mistake. I had the 10oz ribeye steak, I have never had a tough ribeye before but they can certainly serve one, you could have resoled your shoes with it. We only decided to go to give it another try because we went a few years back and the roast dinner was terrible. Never again! My dogs seemed to enjoy the steak when I got home but they will eat anything.

Downstairs in the bar area is quite lively and busy with people drinking and having food. We had a table booked so were upstairs in the restaurant area. Service was really good, Atmosphere was more relaxed and the food was delicious 😋 Steaks were cooked perfectly.

Very cheap but don't think they have very experienced chefs as it wasn't great. Had none of the drinks on tap available and staff weren't particularly interested in serving you, seemed to be more bothered in the problems they were having than a simple explanation to customers.

Fair choice of gluten free even home made chips , not many starters or puddings , less choice of red wines ,peak times bit of a wait . They also supply takeaway meals gluten free. Yippee

Booked Friday pm 7:30 it was very quiet. Food was good for the price. The best thing was the free entertainment we got from our waiter Spenser. Perhaps it was because it was so quiet. We had to wait a little while for one of our seven plates to come out but when it came it was good. All streaks cooked as ordered. Good portion of onion rings too. All in all good experience.

Been here four times for food, 1st time had fish & chips, fish was lovely but the chips were warm & not good at all, 2nd time went for Sunday lunch I had the turkey it was lovely my partner had the beef & was very tough, 3rd time went for tea we both had cheese burger it was dry as anything & chips were hot but not good at all, we went to try the breakfast on Sunday & it wasn't good at all, only warm & not good at all, quite disappointed with the normal meals & definitely would not eat their again for them but would definitely go back for Sunday lunch, the side plates that were out were dirty but got took off when told about them, sachets off sauces weren't good & they need to change supplier.

Lovely food and great service, only downside was drink choices. 2 of the lager and 1 beer pump were out of order and the choice of gins were 3 Gordons and no fever tree tonics. That’s the only thing that let them down but could easily be rectified.

Exceptional service. Looked after our large party brilliantly. Very attentive, polite and smiley. Nothing was ever too much. Made sure we always had drinks. Food was delicious. Called in here on way home didn't no what to expect but pleasantly surprised welcoming staff happy to chat. . Ordered the steak best we've had from anywhere hope its the same again pudding had choc fudge cake and ice cream, hubby had golden syrup pudding his favourite we'll definitely be going back lots of customers all eating ,good play area aswell .

Absolutely amazing food and service.

Looking a little run down but food portions are very good compared to other local restaurants and was busy. But £3.40 for a glass of coke thought was a bit steep.

Good selection of vegetarian starters but very limited veggie/vegan throughout the rest of the menu ,enjoyed what we had . Wasn’t impressed with the constant banging of the kitchen door ( upstairs) and cleaning products left on the bar not good practice.

Family get together from all over the country. Stayed at Eastwood hall. We ate at brinsley lodge. Very impressed 23 of us booked in Saturday 5 August. I think we ate everything on the menu. We all enjoyed the meals. Huge portions at very reasonable prices. Great service. Thanks for having us.

Nipped in for a quick pint. Instantly had one of the barmaids look me up and down. Not a great start. While drinking my pint found that theres no service and no WiFi. Will follow up with a food review at a later date.

Bit cautious after reading reviews but they looked after our large party(23!) brilliantly. Food was hot and plentiful. Special shout out to our waitress Paige who double checked all the orders and did an amazing job when it came to breaking down the bill into families.

Undescovered gem!! I have passed here sooo many times but never been in. Well, tonight i met three good friends there and i have to say that the food choice, value and quality were great! Super portions as well and the staff were so very friendly. This new gem is now firmly on my radar for return visits!

2nd time we have had a lovely meal here today. We're about an hour away and fancied a Sunday roast. Was absolutely amazing. The staff are all lovely and attentive. Definitely be back. Highly recommended

First visit for ages. Service friendly but very slow. Waitress stated some staff had been granted time off but then others went sick so short staffed. Food very nice. Not a cheap meal but enjoyable.

Met up with family when down from aberdeen, enjoyed it, love sitting outside. As we are not so quiet, family, we do try 🤣🤣🤷‍♀️

My family uses this as our go-to for birthday meals. The food is great, good portion sizes and the staff are very friendly and engaging. There seems to be a bit of an issue with getting orders correct sometimes. But they are always happy to try to rectify any concerns.

Visited for an evening meal with four members of the family, Two of the four meals were absolutely shocking, American chicken burger, bun burnt chicken over cooked and hard, onion rings cooked in old fat and rock hard. Big Boy burger, £15.99 the two burgers were burnt and frazzled the buns were also burnt. The burgers were the thinnest burgers you could buy even if not burnt over priced. Two meals refunded, would not visit again.

Abysmal. Cleanliness inside non-existent, carpets dirty, chairs dirty and not cleaned, dirty glasses given at the bar. Toilets absolutely disgusting (both Female and Male) Food - bang average. Waited 35 minutes for Childs starter when asked for it to be bought out as soon as it was ready. Adult meals average, although Fish & Chips were ok. Good place for a pint (with a clean glass) don’t go for a meal.

Came highly recommended so was very disappointed. Even though reading our order back to us my pizza was still wrong. I waited that long for a replacement everyone else had finished. But they sent complimentary onion rings which I didn't want. I asked for mine to be knocked off the bill instead. The waiter was very over familiar....it's great to be friendly but there is a line and he shortened a swear word whilst serving up chips in a hot bowl. Good job our granny wasn't with us!. We all wanted a coffee but despite still serving desserts and it only being 9.15pm.we were told the coffee machine had been switched off. Would it not be courteous to ask beforehand especially as we hadn't ordered desserts at this point. We all went outside to finish off our drinks as it was a nice evening and it was like the Marie Celeste. Won't be returning I'm afraid

This is the second time in two weeks I have been to this pub and restaurant, it's brilliant. I am just in the process of booking for a larger group to go at a lunch time. The food is outstanding for the price and is delicious. Good decor, great staff, outside seating for warmer days and large car park and play area for children. Brilliant keep up the good work guys. Here's a test for you. Have a main meal at lunch and see if you can finish it. Best of luck I couldn't, I had to take home a goody bag for later

Been here a few times, even had my 50th birthday meal here with my Yorkshire family and friends. Beautiful place, food amazing and the staff are fantastic.

Been coming here for over 20 years and today we came the staff was all sat round at tables eating never seen this before, it was not good then they stat stroking a dog and serve food ,then you get a young man dressed in a vest top behind the bar,,one waitress had part hair up and the rest down what about her hair going in food ,please get some mature staff, thus has put us off, will not recommend thus place again .

About 8 staff stood around bar area chatting asked for table service and she replied no order at bar. Not one person smiled the whole time. Husband went to order at the bar he was telling her what we wanted and he had to repeat himself because she was to busy on earpiece chatting. Waited 45 mins for food to come. Husbands fish was wet and greasy batter, he added bread and butter for 99p 1 small slice bread which was hard. I ordered steak skewers the rump steak was tuff, onion rings very greasy. The peppers and fries wete nice. Garlic bread was hard couldn’t eat it. We always have pudding but didn’t bother. The table of 5 at side of us had drinks then left because we had waited so long they didn’t want to wait. Will not be returning.

My partner ordered a steak melt baguette with no onion but it came with onion. Front of house staff arguing saying it’s not onion after I have tasted it. I’m a sous chef so I know what an onion tastes like. What if my partner was allergic to onion??

Just had Sunday Lunch. Really good waitresses, fast and efficient. The food was served well, piping hot and tasty. Would recommend to anyone.

Used to come regular however after our recent visit I won't be returning. Menu has changed and food is very bland with no flavour, chips are not the same i had the chicken skewer which came with skin on fries not very nice at all, a pot of sweaty cheese and a pot of sour cream accompanied by at least 8 onions throughtout the whole dish, we also had steak which was very fatty also asked for this to be cooked medium to well and there was blood all over the plate, drinks also very expensive shame really as the location is lovely.

It's been a little while since we've visited here and we stopped by for an impromptu drink and food a couple of weeks ago and sat outside as the weather was nice. We shared some Nacho's and I had salmon salad and hubby had mixed grill, service was prompt, food was plentiful and very nice. Looking forward to going back soon

Starter was luke warm, not as many mushrooms as was!! And was not on ciabatta bread as advertised! Steak was lovely but yet again luke warm!!
