Hi fellers and fellets, Had the stake and ail pie the crust on the pie I could not cut it. It needed a jack hammer to break it. I will never return to that place again

EV charger was expensive and the food was OK!

Visited here twice and both times had a super value for the money meal. Preared and cooked perfectly. Super place and well worth a visit.

I'm not sure what's happened here but recently it's gone downhill. Used to be pretty good with food and service but it's just constant issues now with their food. Menu items (particularly veggie stuff) disappearing as you're ordering - not available half the time. When you do get your food it's not what it used to be. Paid extra on a burger for bacon and see below what I got..yeah, not sure what's happened but maybe go back to how things were? Update: it's improved since this review.

I have edited my rating,due to the fact I was experiencing Internet problems,we came and had lunch last Tuesday,the meal was lovely,and the staff very professional,apologies for the star of 1 that was incorrect,

7 people ordered. 4 out of 7 meals were bad 😞 Steak over cooked... Chicken dry and hard in places Gammon on mixed grill was dry and overcooked. Mixed grill came out with no eggs... Then had to wait 5 minutes for the eggs after waiting nearly an hour for food... Mac and cheese tasted just like creamy sauce .. no cheese.... Used to be really good food but seems to be having a bad day.

Last time me and my sister went, we was told the kitchen was closed to us as they had a party for 20 coming, ie coming. Not been in since, ps we been going there at least once a month for the 6 years

Easy yo use chargers and enjoyed a.quick hot drink Staff were friendly and informative

We downloaded the app to order our meals and drinks very impressed we all had a lovely meal and service was amazing. Staff was lovely very welcoming

Good food ordered the 2 pub classic meals, were cooked well and drinks came rapid fast. Was quite busy and the table we sat at wasn’t cleared for 10 minutes

We have eaten here a few times over the last three months and on no occasion was the order correctly delivered. The waitress was not interested. There were several uncleared tables and we had to search out cutlery. The food is improving again, but the management is not

Great tea with my son and granddaughter we often visit as this is a great pub and meals are great and reasonable i had the fish and chips the fish was beautifully cooked and just enough chips and mushy peas my granddaughter is a "fussy" eater but she had the cheese and mac children's meal and eat it all Want to thank you all very much See you soon

Just wanted to leave this review as I know things have changed at the pub. Me and my wife had an excellent time with the grandchildren at the Sherwin. Very family oriented and extremely positive towards all their customers. Food was really good and delivered in good time. We enjoyed the variety of the menu and the way in which the staff accommodated our grandchildren’s needs. Great improvement from June 2023 (last time we visited) Well done Greene king on finding this new manager.

Once again, came in with my daughter & grandchildren for dinner, food & service was excellent, the talk slim young man, who I believe is the Assistant manager was polite & helpful, a credit to the Sherwin & Greene King.

Sherwin Arms is a fantastic pub with a friendly atmosphere. My servers, Katie and Manjit, were incredibly welcoming, making the experience enjoyable. It's an excellent spot for sports enthusiasts, offering a great viewing setup. The weekly food deals add to the appeal, making it a go-to for both sports fans and those looking for good deals on delicious meals.

Nice pub, great staff especially accommodated to by Katie behind the bar. Enjoyed the food would definitely visit again.

Good value for money which is what we need in this dismal economic climate and just after the expenditure at Christmas. Friendly atmosphere which goes a long way to entice returning customers. A warm welcome and tasty food is most definitely a winning combination.

Went for a breakfast with Santa event over Christmas and it was lovely! The staff had put so much thought and effort into it. Will be returning :)

Had a family meal here New Year’s Eve, was very peaceful and relaxed the lady behind the bar allowed us to stay around the restaurant side and play rummy with my mother and son. Happy new year will be returning when on leave again.

What a transformation in the atmosphere of this pub since being taken over recently. Amazing staff, can't do enough for you, Manjit, behind the bar is brilliant, always smiling and laughing with the customers :) We've eaten here lots of times in the past few months and the food is spot on! Really good prices and value for money. Toy machines and pool table too, great family pub.

Had a nice meal and found the 3 course festive menu really good value for money in all in. Decent options for the kids too. Merry Christmas to all the staff, especially those working over the festive period 🙏

Christmas Day dinner was delicious. From the minute we arrived to the chef popping out and saying hello after we wanted to say thank you, our whole experience was fantastic. The Sherwin arms is a great place for family. Thank you Katie and Gemma for your service.

Just had 2 beef dinners and a hunters chicken it was totally disgusting the only thing on the plate worth eating was the beef.potatoes were instant and been reheated so was rock hard. The chips had a funny taste to them and the chicken look awful done know how they stay open

Our go to place for a birthday meal, or a quiz night. Generally a good meal and a pint, happy to fix anything that's not on point.

Called in after shopping in town, the pub was very busy, long queues at the bar. We waited 15mins to be served. Discovered only one staff member on shift. Gemma was amazing, she didn’t get flustered, when all around was chaos, the kitchen had run out of food by 8pm, glasses and crockery were on every table waiting to be cleared. Apparently had asked the kitchen staff to come and help, to no avail, took an hour before anyone can to help her. She deserves a medal for that evening.

The food was ok. Didn't seem to be many staff. Felt like we were being rushed very abrupt staff, on the phone at the same time as serving us, not listening, got the drinks order wrong. It was really cold and we had to keep our coats on.

Last night 14 of us had our first ‘Christmas meal’ of the season. We chose the Sherwin Arms for several reasons including parking, menu, price, location. The price was so good (£14.99 for 2 courses, £17.99 for 3 courses) I was a bit wary, however...

Popped into the Sherwin for the first timel after almost 10years with a friend for lunch. The menu is a chain menu, and cooked well, and served by really freiendly and pleasant staff. We will call in again for a light lunch.

The food come out hot and the services was great by the staff on Sunday 19th and you were very polite and friendly

lady behind the bar was very sweet and welcoming, she said her name was gem and she was very helpful! my daughter dropped her corn on the floor and started crying, gem came over and asked if she wanted another from the kitchen, really appreciate her effort, definitely coming back again.

Drinks were 10/10, all staff there were so polite and amazing service. Gemma was also amazing with the customers as she was helping out every customer with care.

Friendly and helpful bar staff however nothing could save us from the awful food. The battered fish was truly cooked to death the batter was hard as rock the flesh was completely dry and inedible. The fish was a convex shape and seemed to rock...

Jamaican Stew absolutely disgusting. Looked nothing like as on menu. Small piece chicken (thigh) in sauce with rice. Looked disgusting. didn't even taste. No courgette peeper onion. Sent back. Then someone who apparently works in kitchen but was sitting in bar started to ague with me saying that's how it's. served. Nothing to do with him anyway. But I said it was disgusting and for 10 pound. Come on really

Came in Saturday night for food. The girls working was very busy, but both worked well together both wore a smile we definitely be back. Nice to see it improving

For a drink, brilliant! For food it's a bit random it's very inconsistent. But then other times has been good and great for kids menu and gluten free options. Staff are friendly.

Food was fantastic, staff very helpful and chatty was very busy was informed their was a wait on food that it be upto 45 mins but the food came out sooner hot and fresh, pudding was lovely. Highly recommend. Can tell its under new management

I've notice my review was not printed I hope you realise how ill my grand daughters been she was sick out the back on the day we came when we was going the chicken burger was under cooked and after being sick for 2 weeks she was rushed to hospital into resuese she was so ill had to give her blood transfusion and now she s got to have injections the rest of her life and blood test through you.

Rang to reserve a table. It hadn't been reserved when we arrived but there were a few spare tables. Only 1 bar staff on so a little waiting to be served. Food was fine, served quickly. Staff pleasant enough. Wouldn't recommend for anything special but fair price for what you get.

Always enjoyed the food and now with new owners they have improved once again fabulous food and first class service

Went to the pub tonight a family of 18 for mums birthday food was absolutely shocking had to send quiet abit of the food back as it was inedible steak was burnt and dry even though we asked for medium rare will never go there...

I recently visited Sherwin Arms Pub and had a fantastic time. The atmosphere was inviting, and the service was top-notch. I want to give a shoutout to Bradley, one of the bartenders, who made our evening special. His cocktail recommendations were spot-on, and he was friendly and attentive throughout. If you're looking for a great pub experience, Sherwin Arms is the place to go, and Bradley is the man to see at the bar!

Would have given more stars for service, but when we arrived we were told by a member of staff they do not serve food after 7.45pm (and this was on a Saturday night!!). This wasn’t explained when I booked the table for 7pm. We were then under pressure to order our food quickly and couldn’t enjoy a few drinks before the meal. I can understand an establishment stopping food at 9pm like most places do, but at quarter to eight is a bit ridiculous. Not sure why they stop so early. Maybe the management can reply to this with an explanation.

Limited stock on beers. Also items on the menu out of stock. Disappointed.

Was seated and served by very polite staff however when I went to order my food I was told my food was unavailable as they didn’t have it when she went to see what she could do she came back and said they can make it as they have the food but didn’t want to make it due to it taking too long to cook i find this rude a very lazy not wanting to provide the food I choose due to there laziness

Went in for a birthday meal, 3 generations and all enjoyed every morsel. Richard Lauren behind the bar could t have been ent more helpful, suggesting delicious alternative to a couple of menu items not available. Will be going to the Sherwin again.

Food is fine, service out front was slow and very rude staff and a woman who looked like management was very rude to us at the bar and talked to us like children

Seving a man in a mankini isnt really welcomed or wanted. The fact he was served drinks nearly naked at my mother's birthday meal and her 88 yr old friend both who live in a nursing home was disgusting!!! The manager needs sacking as she couldn't deal with the situation. Photos i have to back this up... Please cancel my reservation on monday 31st for my birthday and this matter will be taken further... Dusgusting. Regards Helen Morton

This place has really gone down hill the past few months. This used to be our favourite restaurant and we would come weekly for the amazing food. It's really sad what happened to this place. The past few months they have been really struggling for staff and it still shows. The food is nothing like what it used to be. There's often things missing on the menu and you don't find out until after you order on the app. Tonight they didn't serve chips so we had mash instead and it was really gross like what you make with powder. They forgot to serve the peas and after asking they came undercooked. No checkup from the staff either. Medium rare steak came well done and just not good. The list goes on. On top of this we kept hearing shouting in the kitchen throughout the whole meal and a guy coming in and out looking very distressed with other staff trying to calm him down. He seemed as though he had been on some drugs. It was a very unpleasant experience in all respects and sadly we will not be returning again. It is time to part ways with Sherwin Arms. Once my favourite place to eat now I would advise against coming in.
