came here with my friends for a few drinks after work, had an amazing time! got served by hannah and she was quick and efficient

Stopped in for a late pint, then aquick bite to eat. Beer good, food good, but ate outside so cant comment on atmosphere. Will go again, its convenient.

What can but absolutely disgusting food . Ordered the gammon on skillset the onions underneath burnt to a sinner Black peas cold tomato was black burnt I asked the young girl to replace it she took the meal away then brought it back the same MEAL and said I’ll bring you a tomato out to you it came out 10 minutes after we had eaten the meal terrible service. we ordered chicken wings boneless for starters WRONG came bone in we asked for the starters to come with the mains WRONG came out 1st awful Service. My son ordered hunters chicken came on a skillet again onion underneath black charcoaled NO bbq sauce and No cheese disgusting I will never return I live local herd it had bad bad reports of food being bad but it’s terrible. By the the way remember the boneless chicken wings came out as be was leaving I asked the lady so this is the desert now then she just turned walked away couldn’t give a to hoops I just wonder it they ever look at these reviews GREEN KING sort it out

Didn't eat food just a visit for electric meter, staff are exceptional always very happy to help, will be visiting with the family because of how nice it is and how great the staff are.

Came for lunch the week, food was delicious, very reasonably priced, definitely be back. I have a food allergy and I have to give a shout out to Sherrie who made sure everything was inline with dietary requirements

Food very poor quality 4 halloumi for near £6 shocker and beers very expensive ,also quality is crap not recomendet

Always had a lovely time at the Sherwin. Food great value and staff are so welcoming, friendly and provide a happy atmosphere. Will definitely be back again.

Had the beef rib roast, the meat was OK but the rest was poor. Had the pigs in blanket side which consisted of 3 little sausages with a tiny piece of bacon fur a princely sum of £3.49. So disappointed!!

Sat down with my family and had to wait 15 minutes to be served , once my food had arrived it was horrible the boneless chicken had little to no meat inside , staff didn’t ask me how my food was and also made a joke on how my food will be cold since it took a while to come which didn’t amuse me as the whole visit to the place was appalling!

Service terrible. Food instantly gave me and my children stomach aches. No point complaining they do not care at all.

The staff are really nice, and it’s v clean. Judging by the number of reserved tables, it’s very popular too. Food was alright and arrived quickly. We didn’t order anything fancy as we only needed light meals so tbh can’t really comment on the more elaborate end of the menu, but there’s plenty on there. It is extremely well priced though. Honestly… these are really good value meals

Used to be great but currently just seems to be massively under staffed. Today the queue for the bar was out the door with only one member of bar staff on, last time we ordered drinks and food on the app from our table and drinks took ~30 minutes to arrive after a reminder trip to the bar, and food was another half hour or so after that. Food is always great when it arrives. Sharing what used to be the challenges between two is always a cheap win.

Food is good value and taste for the price. Staff are always friendly. Especially Sherrie Always have sport on several tvs

Good food had the partner had gammon skillet and I had chicken strips loaded with sweet chilli sauce , cooked perfectly and hot. Definitely recommend their food good offers too.

Holly is an amazing bar maid who deserves so much credit. She always looks after us and is always friendly and chatty. She makes me and John feel welcome.

I have visited several times before without issue but today we had to wait a while for our food even though the pub was pretty empty. We had to ask for our table to be cleaned as it hadn’t need done from previous diners, Our sizzling skillets were not sizzling, our additional side orders were not brought out and we had to ask for them. Toast was toasted one side and no butter. No napkins on table or sufficient cutlery. Meat was grizzly. Menu choice is a lot less than what it used to be. Unfortunately I think it will be a while before my family returns.

Me and my homies came to the Sherwin as we always do and this time there was anew staff member working on a Friday evening, her name was cherry (sounded like that) she enticed us to play the charity box game and we won a free bowl of chips! Cmon! Saved 50p but spent £8 but was for charity! Cherry you are a valued member please be in more Friday evenings

the young blonde lady called frankie looking after us was very cheerful and made me and my family welcome, very impressed

I attended the local Friday night! was very lovely and the pints were golden. I was greeted by the gorgeous sherrie! She was such a helpful person. If she is here I’m coming again!

I noticed that one staff member in particular was very proactive, clearing tables/ glasses and serving customers with a positive demeanour. I asked for the member of staffs name which was Sherrie, as she consistently asked customers if they are ok and whether they would like anything else. Excellent customer service and an asset to your pub!

Came for food was excellent, kev the chef was brilliant came out personally to check how the food was, 2 staff on gave great service, believe it was Frankie and Manjit, not been in this pub for a long time but the difference is phenomenal, will be making this my local again.

Awful! Can't cook a steak to request, part of the order missed. Portion size literally kids portions on adult meals.No check on by waitress. Won't go back!

Return visit today, my grandson and I really enjoyed our food he even gives you a 10 out of 10 😂 the Jamaican stew was so delicious thank you.

Ordered 2 meals on the app took over an hour to come,and when it did looked very poor and the same size as a kids meal,the young girls working there didn’t have a clue…won’t be going back.

Not been here for a long time but everything today was extremely pleasing. Bar staff, chef, waitress, the boss were all professional and welcomed everyone with smiles. Food excellent value and really enjoyable. Would recommend anyone who has been staying away to go back and enjoy your old pub. MB

Came in and waited 20 mins for two cokes because nobody was on the bar, our food took 1 n half hours too come out, and when it did come out the sever was clueless and didn’t even know what we ordered, the food looked like a kids portion, they couldn’t refund it either so we went Burger King

This is now our go-to place for our weekly meal. The food is excellent and it's comfortable and pleasant but where it really scores is with the staff who are so friendly and welcoming, always have a cheery greeting

I had a lunch meal here today with my grandson. Nice pub, great staff who were polite and efficient even the newbie girl staff member. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Definitely recommend it and I'm not Arnie but I'll be back.

Had some lovely pub grub…. But had excellent service by a server called Frankie. Made the meal and drinks so much more enjoyable.

Came here for some tea last week, food was amazing and really good value for money. The staff were so helpful and friendly especially the young lady Frankie she couldn’t do enough for us we’ll definitely be going back.

Great experience at Sherwin Arms, went for food which was very good for the price. There was a blonde young lady there who was so friendly and could not have done more to make our evening, she is the reason I am giving 5 stars for the service :)

Got served by Frankie a couple days ago, was greeted with a warm smile and friendly presence. She was very helpful and patient with me when ordering my drinks which made me very comfortable. If you’re looking for lovely service I highly recommend Sherwin arms. They certainly pick out the best people for the job!

1st visit for many years,so didnt know what to expect..Turned out to be a very pleasant experience.Great choice of food at value for money prices.We chose the 2 for £13.49 options of gammon skillet and the hunters chicken equivalent.Great service by the girl behind the bar,who also brought out the food with a smile and a chat. The well cooked and presented food,was delicious and well worth another visit. What more could you ask for?

Keep hoping food will get better here but gave up on the place now which is a shame as live nearby. Visited on event evening (local park) lots of foods sold out ,& meals ordered was not great ,asked for a runny egg with the gammon, it was still hard so asked for a fresh one ,it came after meal was finished but what was most embarrassing was the fact we had to return the hard eggs !! The portion of chips was so tiny ! 15 chips ,yes I counted them. Utterly embarrassing ! We spent a fair bit of money that evening & came out shocked .Never again for food there.

Came with the gals for some food & drinks and was served by Manjit - he was an absolute pleasure and was very accommodating. 10/10 would recommend coming here!

Food was nice me and my son had a cheeseburger and chips which had a few onion rings with them and it was on offer for buy one get one free so good for a cheaper Thursday night out, service was slow but this was due to a wake being held on the premises hench my lower ratings I'm sure if this wasn't being held the atmosphere and service time would of been better. Staff were very nice rho and very helpful so I wouldn't think twice about going again and possibly increasing my ratings 😀

Service ok. Dog allowed in but only in one small area. Chicken lumps were bland and chewy salad didn't have a dressing. The chicken burger and chips were OK

A decent menu ,what a difference 12 months makes i .poor chairs with stuffing on show Decor scuffy . Really looks bad . Will not rush to go back

Walked in at 8.30pm to be told theres no food being served.

Just been stood at the bar waiting to be served and not even acknowledged. Another guy walked in and straight away the barmam says hello. It's common knowledge in the area that the service behind the bar is awful but I was hoping it had improved

If you require gluten free food then you better be a meat eater otherwise only one vegetarian option available and no fish options plus a total lack of interest or flexibility to provide anything else. There was the feeling of being rushed to complete the eating experience - well for those of us able to eat - constantly asked if we were ready for desert when some diners had only just received their first course! I don't ever remember being put under that much pressure to complete a meal.

Had such a lovely meal had chicken strips with chips curry sauce and spring onions it was drlicious will be back

Good pub food let down by an hours wait to get it. Staff were excellent but not enough of them, certainly it seems in the kitchen.

Hi fellers and fellets, Had the stake and ail pie the crust on the pie I could not cut it. It needed a jack hammer to break it. I will never return to that place again

Visited here twice and both times had a super value for the money meal. Preared and cooked perfectly. Super place and well worth a visit.

I'm not sure what's happened here but recently it's gone downhill. Used to be pretty good with food and service but it's just constant issues now with their food. Menu items (particularly veggie stuff) disappearing as you're ordering - not available half the time. When you do get your food it's not what it used to be. Paid extra on a burger for bacon and see below what I got..yeah, not sure what's happened but maybe go back to how things were? Update: it's improved since this review.

I have edited my rating,due to the fact I was experiencing Internet problems,we came and had lunch last Tuesday,the meal was lovely,and the staff very professional,apologies for the star of 1 that was incorrect,

7 people ordered. 4 out of 7 meals were bad 😞 Steak over cooked... Chicken dry and hard in places Gammon on mixed grill was dry and overcooked. Mixed grill came out with no eggs... Then had to wait 5 minutes for the eggs after waiting nearly an hour for food... Mac and cheese tasted just like creamy sauce .. no cheese.... Used to be really good food but seems to be having a bad day.

Last time me and my sister went, we was told the kitchen was closed to us as they had a party for 20 coming, ie coming. Not been in since, ps we been going there at least once a month for the 6 years

We have eaten here a few times over the last three months and on no occasion was the order correctly delivered. The waitress was not interested. There were several uncleared tables and we had to search out cutlery. The food is improving again, but the management is not

Great tea with my son and granddaughter we often visit as this is a great pub and meals are great and reasonable i had the fish and chips the fish was beautifully cooked and just enough chips and mushy peas my granddaughter is a "fussy" eater but she had the cheese and mac children's meal and eat it all Want to thank you all very much See you soon

Just wanted to leave this review as I know things have changed at the pub. Me and my wife had an excellent time with the grandchildren at the Sherwin. Very family oriented and extremely positive towards all their customers. Food was really good and delivered in good time. We enjoyed the variety of the menu and the way in which the staff accommodated our grandchildren’s needs. Great improvement from June 2023 (last time we visited) Well done Greene king on finding this new manager.

Once again, came in with my daughter & grandchildren for dinner, food & service was excellent, the talk slim young man, who I believe is the Assistant manager was polite & helpful, a credit to the Sherwin & Greene King.

Sherwin Arms is a fantastic pub with a friendly atmosphere. My servers, Katie and Manjit, were incredibly welcoming, making the experience enjoyable. It's an excellent spot for sports enthusiasts, offering a great viewing setup. The weekly food deals add to the appeal, making it a go-to for both sports fans and those looking for good deals on delicious meals.

Went for a breakfast with Santa event over Christmas and it was lovely! The staff had put so much thought and effort into it. Will be returning :)

Had a family meal here New Year’s Eve, was very peaceful and relaxed the lady behind the bar allowed us to stay around the restaurant side and play rummy with my mother and son. Happy new year will be returning when on leave again.

Good value for money which is what we need in this dismal economic climate and just after the expenditure at Christmas. Friendly atmosphere which goes a long way to entice returning customers. A warm welcome and tasty food is most definitely a winning combination.
