There is no other way of describing the food other than excellent! The Korean beef rib is fantastic. Staff are attentive and courteous. You can tell that the beer is 'kept well'. The Dog menu is a brilliant idea and a massive thumbs up 👍

Sherries is fantastic and the John Smiths is excellent.

Only stopped to meet a friend here on my travels but staff were friendly, plenty seats, tables and good coffee. Is easy to find and plenty parking.

Decent enough place. Unfortunately too many football supporters for our liking and made for a lot of noise. The supporters did go into another area at kick off but the tv and really loud speaker did stay on above our table making it shouted conversations for us. The food was good and served quickly.

Use to be our local then stopped going after the change over. Went last night & I can’t believe how run down it is. The seats outside looked like they were about to disintegrate. The toilets were beyond disgusting and the black dirt on the men’s toilet door! Were its pushed to open look like it had not been cleaned since lockdown. Hubby said they were worse inside. Can’t imagine what the kitchen is like. This place needs a visit from someone from greenking!!

Good if you want a drink, food is awful, everything is frozen/ready meals, inside of some of the food was cold and the meat was terrible quality.

We came for drinks and shonnon was very lovely and helpful which made the the experience that much better! The bar was very efficient which helped to minimise wait time leading to a much better experience.

We're staying locally near the Sherwin to see family while on holiday and have eaten here on a couple of occasions in the last couple of weeks. Both times our meals have arrived 40 plus mins after ordering, both times being told they were busier than expected. The first occasion when the food arrived it was delicious. This second time we'd ordered steaks that were supposed to be served on a skillet, they came and asked if it was ok to be served on a plate due to a lack of skillets due to how busy they were - slightly concerning for a "Flaming Grill" that's at about 50% capacity and lots of the menu is described as being served on a skillet. Being served on plates was fine with us until the steaks arrived minus the fried onions described on the menu. We don't mind them changing the serving method but then not serving the meal with described ingredients isnt ok. When i asked we were bought some uncooked onions saying they only get cooked on the skillet. Why they couldn't have fried them on the hot plate is beyond me. All in all steak was average, maybe should have waited for a skillet.... We'll go elsewhere next week for our final meal in the area.

A lovely visit here with my family, great choice on ales & Ciders. Was very busy on food when we visited and had to wait a little longer on food but was definitely worth it See you again

Large pub with a pleasant atmosphere. I was able to find a quiet table. Large range of beers with real ales. I had a good glass of Abbots ale.

Food is good for the price, Paige served us and was great, very polite and made sure we were happy with everything!

This wasn't my first visit for food & drinks here but the recent consistency and atmosphere since change in management has been impeccable. I had the steak flatbread, which was a good portion cooked to my perfection and fantastic value for money, they have Great offers on food & drinks too. I was served by Jo who went above and beyond to make the experience even better, very friendly always smiling, very organised and experienced, I happened to be there whilst the quiz & games were on which was a good laugh and lots of fun along with cash prizes!! Overall I couldn't fault anything with my trip to the Sherwin Arms. I'm looking forward to trying out the new breakfast menu, see you again soon!! 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Visited yesterday (15th March) with a coach load of us. Upon arrival the manager was very welcoming and friendly as were all the staff especially Jo. Jo was helpful quick friendly and had a laugh with all of us and was joking how we all like our thatchers cider, (we were from Devon afterall) she was always smiling and happy even when very busy at the bar. We also had food which was cooked perfectly and arrived promptly. We will be visiting again in a few weeks and look forward to seeing the staff again. Highly recommend this pub. We hope Jo is working on our next visit

We had a party of 10, the choice of food was normal. We ordered at the bar, you can do on line also. The food came, maybe 10, 15 minutes after ordering, and it was quite busy, I had the fish, it was perfect, I mean crispy without being too crispy, and the fish was so moist. All the meals were great, from sirloin steak to burgers. And something you rarely see now, they still came and asked halfway through, if everything was OK, which it was. Brilliant.

Lovely meal today. Jo was our server today and was very attentive and happy. Food was really lovely too.

Always a good meal there reasonably priced and a nice Guinness is served

Table of 6 and 4 meals came out after about 50 minutes, the other 2 came out when some of us had finished eating and we had to ask where it was. Told it was being plated up but still another 15 minutes. Missed side portions off the meals but by that point we were so hungry lost interest and didn’t want to wait any longer. Didn’t even get an apology for the wait. Had to fetch more cutlery ourselves as not enough put in the table and not offered any extra sauce or a table check but 3 of them hovering around when it wasn’t that busy. Clearly poor kitchen staff and front of house sneaking around probably tired of complains or just used to it. Not coming back and don’t recommend.

Great pub, friendly staff and foods good too.

We are regular visitors and also bring our pup in. The staff are really friendly, we get to watch sport which is a bonus. The General atmosphere is good most of the regulars know each other by name making it even more friendly.

Unfortunately the pub is ok but very poorly maintained, broken glass all over the car park especially in the charging spots and has been here for weeks.

Opened a tab for food and sat with a drink to choose from the menu. Waited 10min to get served with food order to be told the first choice was out of stock waited another 5-10 mins to be told second choice was out of stock. Why weren't we made aware when we opened a tab???? Kids running round playing football with a mini football going to others tables. Floor is a terrible mess with food, used serviettes and rubbish! 1 person behind the bar when busy isn't enough! Shocking service. On the plus side we ended up at the FESTIVAL INN (same food chain) and had an amazing BOGOF steak 🥩 and BOGOF drinks that we didn't get offered at the Sherwin.

Booking easily made online. Great that i could bring the doggy as he is part of the family. Arrived, not that busy in the pub. Got served our drinks and told where our table was. Staff polite. Ordered food. Food came in good time. The pub looked a little short staffed? We hadn't been to the pub before so not sure if we should have got our cutlery and sauces from somewhere but had to wait for them after our meal arrived. Food was nice. The people that had burgers said portion size of chips was too small. We all enjoyed the meals. Atmosphere in pub good. Nice to be able to play darts with my nephew. Toilets could do with a clean and an update. Would come back and would recommend. Thank you

Christmas lunch.first time.. Very well organised, the ood came quickly,and was hot. The staff were friendly and efficient.

Always a friendly atmosphere and nice ambience, fun crane game for the kids and pool for the adults so always something to pass the time with. Staff are kind and helpful always. Only thing that needs upgrading is the toilets but other than that all is lovely.

Nice place with parking. Close to the Motorway and 10 minutes from the city.

Went for a festive meal booked for 1.30pm today 26th boxing day the food was totally inedible you couldn't cut the yorkshire pudding with a knife couldn't even break it with my hands the veg was also rock hard and cold the meat? I've put the question mark there because it didn't look like meat it had a jelly like texture so wouldn't advise anyone to go there they did knock £6 off the bill wich originally was £50

Christmas Day dinner was amazing and topped last year. From the minute we arrived to the chef popping out and saying hello after we wanted to say thank you, our whole experience was fantastic. The Sherwin arms is a great place for family.

Attended as a party of 10 for the festive feast menu. The main course of turkey with all the trimmings was the nicest dinner all of us have had at a restaurant. The meal was piping hot, and the roast potatoes were soft crispy and delicious. The chef Derek should be commended for producing such a lovely and consistent meal that everyone enjoyed so much. We were also brought out extra pots of large gravy boats. The Christmas pudding and custard is recommended as an excellent end to the meal. The atmosphere, food and service at the Sherwin arms is the perfect start to the Christmas celebrations.

Last night we had our a Christmas great meal at the Sherwin Arms Nottingham. We chose the venue because we had a great meal experience last year - and I was delighted that we had an equally good experience this year as well. The food was great, as was the service from Mckenzie, Hannah and Sherrie. One of our party arrived an hour late, however they managed to sort him out well 👍 with no hassle. The price was excellent.

Holly and sherrie were great and attentive, good food and drinks at a reasonable price. Toilets could do with some TLC though

Lovely little pub serves good food

One word: COLD. Cold food, cold dining area. Understaffed. One guy serving at the bar who was a doing a remarkable job. The chef needs to improve. I saw one customer returning their food, because it was cold. No lemon on the fish and had to ask for tartare sauce. Poor. The waiting staff were excellent though and friendly. Turn your heating up, get some more staff behind the bar and get the chef to serve warm food and this would be a successful place. Nice, decent people were eating there, nearly all were wearing a fleece or a coat. Not good. I wouldn't come here again.
